More iTunes Store Issues

Last night I tried to download a free TV show from ABC's Million Hit Lowdown (Desperate Housewives / Remember) - it downloaded 1.9 MB within the first few seconds and then stopped. I tried pausing the download and restarting a few times, restarted iTunes several times, then gave up last night and tried this morning and it is still stuck in the same place. Last night I was curious as to if I could download anything else with any problems, so I purchased a song and it downloaded fine (yet at the same time, the TV show download was still stuck). I have a cable modem and generally TV shows download fairly quickly. Last night was the first time I used the iTunes store with iTunes 7.

I noticed tons more memory getting chomped by itunes 7 than ever before, esp. during downloads. Could that have been the issue here? (though I notice you're running G5 dual, so probably not)

click on the store tab on the top left of iTunes.  Scroll to where it says "Authorize this computer...".  Click on that and enter your apple id and password then click authorize.  The reason iTunes says that your computer needs to be authorized is because it is to be sure that iTunes knows can trust your new computer

  • No More iTunes Store?

I read an article on HipHopDX.com that Apple may be forced to give up a larger percentage of their iTunes Store sales to higher up music companies/corporations, which would force Apple to raise their current prices in order to still be a profitable company. Apple has threatened that they would shut down the iTunes Store before raising the prices for their customers. So this will be interesting to keep an eye on to see what happens. I hope the iTunes Store is not closed, and I know Apple doesn't want to close it either because I'm sure they make a lot of money from the store. If anyone hears or see's any updates on this, please reply with the information because I would like to know what's going on if I miss the news about it!

    Hey Phil,
Believe it or not, there was a resolution to this issue roughly 24 hours after this story was first mentioned by a good number of news outlets.  I'm still rather surprised though that the follow-up story wasn't given nearly as much attention as the initial "knee-jerk reaction" made by the press.
Based on information that I've found, it looks as though the federal Copyright Royalty Board froze the royalty fee due to songwriters at 9.1 cents per song for the next five years.  Neither party involved (Apple or the Recording Industry Association of America) appears to have been overly pleased with the decision, but spokespeople from both sides seem to have admitted that the ruling should prove to be beneficial.  A good compromise means that no one involved gets everything that they want, I guess.
If you'd like to read more on this story, you should be able to find the official Associated Press article by searching for "Copyright board leaves royalty rate unchanged."
    Hope this helps you out!

  • Starbucks iTunes store issues

When I went into Starbucks today I ran into an issue with iTunes. First it wouldn't let me connect to the store without having first getting the Txt message from ATT which allows me to use the free wi-fi. I suspect they changed that part of iTunes since wi-fi is free now for iPhone users. Second, and this issue only happened after upgrading to 2.2, when I go into the iTunes store I can no longer see the Starbucks portion of the store. I've looked around the forums and have tried what others have said and still no luck with connecting to it. I suspect it's not showing up since 2.2 added podcasts to the store menu and I've tried to swipe the bar over to see the starbucks tab but that didn't work.
I also googled the issue and found nothing on that since I wondered with they quietly closed the Starbucks iTunes store on iPhone since 2.2 came out. To be clear I have accessed the store before at the same Starbucks that I went today so I know for a fact that they have it. This was the first time I've been unable to look through the store at Starbucks, but every other portion of iTunes worked just fine.

Today I went to a different Starbucks and the Starbucks iTunes store worked. The one I go to regularly probably was just having issues. What the store does is it removes the podcast and downloads tab and puts them in their own option that says more. The Starbucks icon shows up first and works just as before.

I bought a season pass for a tv show and have had no problems until yesterday when I tried to watch an episode it gives me an error that I don't have authority to access?  Any ideas pn what might be wrong?

    Many thanks.
    I'd try the following document:

  • Possible simple fix for itunes store issues

Was having the same problem with my Macbook Pro and iPhone 3gs. Could not login/download app updates etc. despite having the same account for several years.
    Here's what worked for me......
Go to the apple store (not iTunes store) and log in to your account as normal.
    Click on change account information.
Change the email address to a different valid email address and click continue.
Click on change account information again.
Change the email address back to the original email address and click continue.
Hopefully, if you now try logging in to your iTunes account, all should be fine and dandy!!!
I hope this helps with Windows too

Unfortunately, this did NOT work for me. I am still stuck and have done everything. I lost my original user name and now have my long email address as my user ID... bummer. Also, I had a very simple password that I lost, too, because I was trying to reset things. Also, a big bummer!!'
This is day 4 for me now and I am still not able to use my credit card!!!

  • No more Itunes store suggestions in 11?

    Hi All,
I used to see a list of related music available in the iTunes store while I was playing a song. This seems to be gone now. Is there a way to get it back? If not, then I'm going to have to look for an alternative. Maybe roll back to the prior version.
    Thanks
    Mitch
    Hi All

    Hi !
I just found out how to get reccomendations from iTunes. Actually you have to go in the album (or artist, or genre) section of your library. Then you select an album and click on the button "in the store" and you'll get a list of iTunes suggestions. If you can't find it take a look at the picture which is shown on the website. http://www.apple.com/itunes/whats-new/

  • MORE iTunes store non-connectivity

Not only is the store not connecting, but also AVG free anti-virus can't connect in order to update. Is this related?
I've done everything, just like everyone else has... deleted the anti-virus and checked the store again and still nothing. But I can still connect to my normal sites on Safari. And naturally Apple is going to completely ignore our complaints and continue handing out their defective iTunes. ***.

  • Very confused with iTunes Store issues

    Dear all,
I am a Mac user who owns several mac computers and several iOS devices.
I have become very confused over my rights concerning my specific Apple iD.
I understand that when purchasing DRM free music from iTunes (256 bit - it appears as Purchased AAC audio file) on my main Mac computer, then I can play this music to as many computers I have, not only 5. Is this correct?
I remember at some point that on one of my other Mac computers ( my secondary computer - a Mac Mini) I was able to listen to my music purchased, in the past, on my main computer, by having it streamed (not downloaded) from the iCloud onto my secondary computer. Somehow this has been lost recently. Now I am faced with the task to authorise my secondary computer, which I cannot do, because I have 5 computers already authorised.
    What am I doing wrong?
Has iTunes 11 changed anything in this respect?
Any help will be most appreciated.
    Merry Christmas and best regards
    Andreas

I had tried all these, deleting 'Downloads' folder in 'iTunes Media', creating a new user (administrator) account and downloading movie with the new account, following error -50 trouble shooting steps, but none of them worked. I did contact iTunes customer service. In addition to what listed above, they also suggested I download the movie using another computer and transfer the file to my macbook air, which has nothing to do with my problem at all.

  • ITunes Store Issues Since 10.4 Upgrade/White Screen

Ever since I downloaded 10.4, I have had problems with the iTunes store, getting the white screen.  I initially uninstalled/reinstalled iTunes, Bonjour, Quicktime, etc., and could then connect.  However when later trying to get into the store, I received the white screen again.  I then uninstalled/reinstalled again.  I was able to connect for a short time.  I am now getting the white screen again.  Any ideas on what is going on?
    Thanks for your help,

Here's another thread about this exact problem. There are several of us experiencing this glitch since at least 17 August.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3274333?tstart=0
I followed the instructions about uninstalling Quick Time, hunted down all the older apps, with no luck at all. Still no App Store (iTunes Store proper, is fine).
