More Navigation Options in Date Finder

I'm working on a project where I want to grab a few photos from every month
over several years. The Date finder is a great tool for this sort of thing,
but it'd be even better if its menu had choices like Prev/Next Month and
Prev/Next Year to change the date range by exactly one month backward or
forward.

The option is finder is grayed out which means it is not available as an option. You can copy and paste or instead of cut, you can drag to trash. However, that does not put a copy on clipboard so once you empty trash it is gone.

More text options in Print Module

It's frustrating to be able to do just about everything in LR - but not quite. I'd like more text options for the printing module. For example, when I'm printing a limited edition print, I put the edition number in the bottom left corner, under the image, within the border of the print. The title goes in the middle, slighty larger font, and then possibly a watermark.
I can use the Identity Plate to create a nice looking title, but the Photo Info will only print in the middle with no options for positioning it anywhere else, or no options for other fonts.

I would second this proposal..... with a serious passion. I think it is unbelievable that Adobe will not provide us with the option to print the metadata with our images.
The current metadata print options are in the dark ages, a joke and an insult to anyone trying to put a proper caption on a printed image. For example, one cannot currently control the postion or font of a basic caption, never mind a considered template which might incorporate copyright, date, author, etc.. I also make folios (ala Lenswork). Unfortunately, a detour to PS also means that this must be done manually, rather than using a template. Adobe have all the tools to make this work, many of them are in the Slideshow module, so already the code is inside Lightroom. It is so sad that a company like Blurb can provide these tools free of charge in free software, but Adobe seem incapable of providing these basic features. I was disappointed they were not in version 1, frustrated when missing from version 2 and apoplectic when not in version 3. I might excuse the omission if I could build a template in PS which allowed me to place text from the metadata into a formattted page layout, but this is not possible either. So despite the fact I have purchased both Lightroom and Photoshop, and paid for upgrade after upgrade of both products, this basic facility is still missing.
I can only deduce that people in Adobe print images in two modes.
1) a lonely image in approx middle of the page with no text formatting or
2) an image in draft mode with a caption and a name plate and uncontolled other text in ad hoc placements (totally unsuitable for presenting to a client).
I would put this requirement ahead of so many other popular requests (even ahead of requests such as networked storage, soft proofing, etc). I can mention other software products who do a really good job of printing meta data with images, do serious work on sharpening, etc. for a fraction of the cost of the Lightroom / Photoshop combination. Becasue I am on an Adobe site I will not mention the names of these non Adobe products. If these small companies can solve this problem, surely Adobe can do so as well.
I also find that I cannot trust the page setup templates that I do create. It seems to me that many of the properties (ie page size, orientation, matt / gloss options) disappear without warning. I suspect this happens when I have problems printing to networked Epson printers (maybe others, but I only use Epson ...with Windows 7.) This is very frustrating when my template changes from Matt in to Gloss, with subsequent wasted of ink and frustration and lost time in correcting and re-updating the template.
Adobe, please finish the Print Module. I do not want any more glitzy updates to publishing to the most recent social media exchange medium. Can we not get basic printing working first.

If the same website is opening each time you launch a browser (Safari?) hold down the shift key as you launch to prevent previous pages from opening.
Have a look at your settings in Safari > Preferences. Especially General and Privacy.
Reset Safari to remove cookies and other stored data.
System Preferences > General
Have a look at your settings in System Preferences > Security & Privacy.

Lsmw error 'Specify Files first' while executing option 'Read Data'.

Hi All,
while trying to create mass users through LSMW, i am gettign the error 'Specify Files first' while executing option 'Read Data'.
I have specified file (.txt), manually created (with'1 tab space' between each term). i have used option 'On the PC(Frontend)'. No error while saving.
Next- i have executed 'Assign Files', where the file appeared automatically.
Next- Here, when i try to execute 'Read Data', i get the error 'Specify Files first'.
Can anyone help in resolving this error.

What is your purpose? Are you tring to upload the data with more file variant?
There are two possibilities to make file names more variable:
1.If you choose system dependent file names by setting the according flag (in the first step 'Maintain object attributes'), you can define file names for each system in step 'Specify files' by assigning the files to a specific system ID (with a double-click on the specified file).
2.You can use wildcards in the file names where you can assign several values.

Data Retrieval speed from DIAdem Database using Data Finder Toolkit in LabVIEW

I have developed a LabVIEW code using NI Data Finder toolkit for extracting the data from the DIAdem. I have formed queries for extraction the data. But the data retrieval takes more time for extracting the data.
I have attached my LabVIEW code image along with this post. In that i have circled the VI "Results to Waveform", which is Data Finder toolkit VI which takes more time for extraction. From my Testing, query formation is taking only few millisecond to execute, but "Results to Waveform.vi" takes around 35 seconds. Also i want to execute similar kind of search for 5 times. Altogether it will taken around 1.5 mins to 2 mins for execution.
Is there any other alternative way of doing this search? Kindly help me in sorting this out.

Hi Alagar,
You say that the "Results to Waveform.vi" takes "more" time, but what are you comparing this to? More than what? More than loading the contents of the same file with the TDMS VIs or with the Storage VIs? What file format are you loading data from after querying-- TDMS files, ASCII files, binary files?
What information do you want to retrieve? Do you really need ALL the values of ALL the channels in each data file? Are you interested only in the channel values, or all you interested in scalar properties stored along with the data? If you want only some of the channels loaded or if you want only scalar properties loaded, there are indeed faster ways of doing this.

I have a question concerning the display of a query. Us ut possible to display a query and load the navigation options after the query has been displayed (in other words in the background)?
[I am talking about the query property on how to load a query with option A, H and X]
If yes, does it provide a relevant performance benefit in the case of using large hierarchies?

There is, but the preferred way to do something like this is through
the action reference expression which is attached to a UCommand
component. So you could do something like the following:
1. set up a class which extends javax.faces.Action:

Query Data Finder Server with ActiveX

I haven't been able to find much resources on how to use ActiveX to Query a Data Finder Server. I know that this is all supposed to be done with the ToCommand but I have no idea how it is done beyond this. Can someone give me some direction as to what commands are needed to Open a Data Finder, Create a Query, Merge Queries, and get resulting file paths?

Hi Djvanlee,
So they are not ActiveX commands, you would use VBScript Commands with a ToCommand reference writing to DIAdem through invoke nodes. Are you using LabVIEW with the ToCommand reference?
An example of this can be found by opening up the DIAdem - Example Finder by going to Help>>Examples and it will be on the Context tab under the directory Examples>>Create Scripts>>Using Interfaces>>Controlling DIAdem from LabVIEW. Then the commands can be found in the DIAdem Help on the Contents tab by going to Programming Reference>>Object Oriented Script Interfaces>>DIAdem NAVIGATOR>>Methods. The methods you would reference are labeled as <DataFinder>. It looks like the main commands you would need are:
ConnectDataFinder()
CreateQuery()
Load Query()
SaveQuery() \\Note when you save the query you will have to indicate the path.
If you are looking for a good example of programmatically using the DataFinder in the script tab in DIAdem you can find this in the ExampleFinder on the Contents tab at "Extending Functionalities with Scripts>>Context Menu for the Search Results of the DataFinder". The ResultsList_Menus_Add.VBS connects to the DataFinder programmatically and loads a query.

TOC Navigation Options

Is it possible to have the navigation in a project locked down until you complete each section?
I'm using the TOC to split the content into 5 sections. The first section contains a knowledge section. The remaining sections are branching scenarios. I would like to lock the navigation to make sure people follow the logic of the branching scenarios, but I would also like them to be able to refer back to the knowledge section using the TOC and review the completed scenarios once they've been through the module.
I've tried different combinations of checking und unchecking the 'self paced learning' and 'enable navigation' options in the TOC settings menu, but no joy. Is there another way (that isn't too complex!).

This is likely to be a bit complex if you are trying to do all of this from within one huge course module.
Are you going to be delivering this course via an LMS? If so, the best way to arrange what you are talking about is to control the sequencing rules in the LMS, not the course.
If you can't control the sequencing via an LMS, you could perhaps do it in a single module via Advanced Actions and variables but it would be complex to set up.
Another issue to consider: If you jump the user out of the middle of a branching scenario back to a knowledge section and they browse around there for a while picking up more info, how do you ensure they get back to the same spot in the branching scenario when they're ready?

No "load more messages" option in hotmail on iphone 4S

I have my hotmail account hooked up to the email app on my iphone 4S, but there is no "load more messages" option at the bottom of my inbox so I cant read messages before a certain time. I also have a gmail account, and there IS the option to load more messages on that (so i know it can be done), but not on my hotmail account. How can I get the "load more messages" option to come up??

No. To be honest Im pretty sure its because hotmail simply dont support this feature. All my friends with hotmail accounts have the problem too. I have compromised by increasing the "mail days to sync" option to 1 month, and I find this syncs enough messages for me to not have a problem. But as for the original query, I think its simply something we have to live with!

So just want you to add Atlest one more option in audio streaming low quality. I want this to be there in next version. I love Spotify music service.

Prevent navigation on uncommitted data

It contains a page which has an af:document with uncommittedDataWarning="on" [1], and next to a regular af:commandLink also an af:commandLink with immediate="true" combined with an af:checkUncommittedDataBehavior component [2].
It allows to get warnings like
"This page contains uncommitted data.
Would you like to perform navigation?
Pres OK to continue, or Cancel to abort navigation."
which allow you to choose if you want to continue the navigation or not.

But, for the current version my question (q1) remains:

Cant dowload all emails from Hotmail (no " load more messages" option)

Hi - I use i phone for both my gmail and hotmail emails. While using gmail, i get the option to "Load more messages" at the bottom of my screen and when i click that iphone downloads the next 25/50 emails from the server. For some reason, i dont have that option for my hotmail inbox. There is no load more message option so i cant retrieve my older emails no matter what i do.
Does someone else have had this issue. Appreciate your help

I don't suppose you have a full CC subscription? It comes with a feature called Typekit which I love. Along with an ever increasing range of top quality fonts, it has the best font manager I have used, and excellent search facility.
