More Premiere Pro 2.0 help?

I once again have no idea what triggered my problem or how to solve it. When i open the editing screen for the title/text slides the image appears way below where it should be, to the point where it's half off the screen. I can't reach the bottom of the images anymore, and therefore can't put text at the bottom, which im trying to do. How can i get the image back in its right spot?

Hardware crashes or virus infections happen... or simply wanting to go back in time to when everything worked, so you should buy software to make a full backup of your hard drive to an external USB hard drive... plus making step-by-step backups during a new install or major program addition makes it easy to go back a step if something doesn't work
This backup and then restore is, of course, only to the same computer with a new drive (or the same drive as long as you don't mind writing over everything) since doing a restore to a new computer won't work due to Windows and many programs having activation information that is keyed to your hardware (which is why Windows will force you to RE-Activate if you change very much hardware)
The product I use is at http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm
Image runs off of a bootable CD via Linux (the Zip you download includes a program to make the bootable CD) and it reads EVERYTHING on the drive, even the hidden registration information, so everything is restored when needed... and you may restore the image to a brand new drive in case of a crash, and not have to re-install anything
Please note that I own no part of Image, and I don't get a referral fee (that is just a plain web link) but I use the program and it has saved me a LOT of trouble when I had a hard drive die... and I was able to restore everything and not have to re-install or re-activate a single program, from Windows on up

  • Premiere Pro Color Correcting Help with GoPro Protune Footage

    Hey guys,
I'm working on a video I made of my daughter's birth. Most of the footage is from my DSLR and looks fine, but Im' having a helluva time getting my GoPro footage to look even remotely decent. I shot in ProTune thinking I could get more out of it in post (plus, I wanted the 24 fps option). It's a lot of indoor footage and I don't expect miracles but I'm trying to get the best I can out of it.
I start by using fast color corrector to white balance based off hte door trim. That works but it still looks really, really flat and dead. Tried using Contrast, RGB curves, etc. and I can't seem to get any sort of decent image out of it.
Any tips or ideas with where to start? I don't need it perfect, just want it as good as i can get it. Most of my indoor shots look like this for some reason :/
PS, I didn't transcode in Cineform at all. I just dumped the MP4 files right into Premiere Pro.

If you're on PrPro CC, I'd get Speedgrade also and take a run over to it for your correction work ... commonly known as grading. Yea, you can do it in PrPro, but as a noob ... never got the footage I worked "there" as far along as when working in Sg. Might help.
Next ... the scopes here are quite interesting ... first, set your lower-end of the footage to the point where you either go for good "broadcast" (blacks that you WANT black about 16 on a 0-255 scale), then lift the contrast/highs/whatever control until your whites just tip out on top. Next correct for gamma, the overall placement of the mids/upper mids, then start with your color work.
You will probably need to raise in-coming sat up a bit to start making best choices there ... but then I'm also a noob so I'm waiting for the corrections that shooter or Jim will chime in with ...

  • CC wont let me re-download premiere pro CS6! HELP!!

    Hello all,
So i previously had all of the CS6 Family installed on my computer. Something went wrong with Adobe Encore and it wouldnt open so i uninstalled Premiere Pro and Encore CS6.
After un-installing i restarted my computer and opened Creative Cloud.
When looking in the find new apps section to re-download Premiere Pro CS6 i could not find it. I filtered the search and selected previous versions but the only apps it says it has in previous versions in are Bridge, Edge Animate and Gaming SDK.
I checked in the my apps section to double check it was definitely un-installed. I can see Premiere Pro CC but CS6 is not showing up anywhere!
Ive tried looking for other links on the adobe website but it just gives me the option to buy a subscription (which i have already payed for) or download the trial.
Ive looked endlessly on forums for a solution but no joy so far.
I desperately need to get to the bottom of this as i need Adobe Encore for work.
    PLEASE HELP ME!!!!

    Hi,
Please uninstall your creative cloud desktop app and re-download it from the below link:-

  • I cannot figure out how to edit my h.264 footage in Premiere Pro. Please help.

I have been trying to import AVI video into Premiere pro CS5. I have a new Dell Laptop with Windows 7. Every time I try to import the video into Premiere it only shows up as audio files. However, Windows Media Player plays the files just fine. I've tryed converting the files with Media Encoder but that sees the files as only audio files as well. I've used the G Spot program and it tells me that the Codec is the H264 codec and that the name is H.264/MPEG-4 AVC. It also tells me that the codec is already installed on my computer.
I've had problems trying to edit h.264 stuff for longer than I'd care to admit and I just want to figure it out once and for all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Read the 2nd post for NEW ITEM pointer http://forums.adobe.com/thread/770072?tstart=0 and follow the instructions, to let PPro analyze the file for you
This is not going to help in the OP's circumstance; if the video doesn't play in Premiere, it's not going to magically start playing once dropped on the New Item button. That sets up a sequence with parameters that match the footage (is that what you mean by letting "PPro analyze the file?"), but Premiere is pretty black-or-white when it comes to format/codec support--it plays everywhere or it doesn't play at all.
If that were not true, DV footage would have to be edited only in a DV sequence, and AVCHD only in an AVCHD sequence. Of couse, that's not the case--sequences are format-agnostic.

  • Understanding FCP7 (from a Premiere Pro background) - Need help

    Hello all,
I have spent the better part of the past 5 days doing a couple video edits of projects that I had already completed in Premiere Pro CS4, in an effort to learn Final Cut Pro 7. I have a few observed differences that I am hoping the FCP veterans can help me understand. I am not new at all to video editing but I am neophyte when it comes to FCP7.
As resourceful as I think I am, I cannot find any references to others who have observed these differences which makes me wonder if the issue is mine entirely.
    *Previewing sequences is time consuming*
The same project that I completed in PProCS4 works to simply press play in the canvas to see the preview without needing to render. I am using the same elements in both projects. FCP7 will not attempt to play the preview unless I render (which seems to be taking 30 minutes to an hour for the particular project I am working on).
*Adding graphics or text layers have a two-minute limit in the timeline*
Unless I am prepared to copy/paste the 2:00 clip numerous times in the timeline or know ahead of time to extend the duration in the preview window before adding it to my sequence, I will be out of luck. I don't seem to be able to simply grab the right handle on the clip and extend it out to match the timeline of my full sequence if I so desire.
*Imported clips behave differently in each application*
As you may have read in another thread, I was having troubles with an imported WMV file that works fine in my PProCS4 installation, but required me to use MPEG Streamclip to convert it before I could use it without audio/video sync issues.
Please don't hear me saying one application is better than the other as I fully expect that they each have their place, but I feel like I am struggling unnecessarily with basic functionality in FCP7. I am sure it's a training issue. I am hoping you all can help me better understand.

OK...here's where you are making a very basic mistake. Final Cut Pro is a broadcast format based editing system. Meaning that it deals with video that meet video production standards. DV (720x480), Broadcast SD (720x486), HD (1280x720 and 1920x1080) and 2K and 4K (film) standards. Anything that doesn't fall within those standards aren't really well suited for FCP. So your 1024x768 sequence setting, and file type won't be the best way to test out and learn FCP. Those are computer monitor dimensions.
Premiere might be well suited for what you are currently working on. But if you want to start learning FCP, I suggest waiting until you have a video production based format to work with, and that you capture that footage with FCP, not another NLE.

I am gearing for film a video production. Buying the macbook pro  and I PP CS 5.5.  Current project I want to use PP CS5.5 rather than FCP. I am new to all this.  All I want to do now is cut and sound edit with some efx matting and titles etc.  Do I need a DPU right now? Is so what is a basic one low cost? (I've seen bad reviews on the nvidia) Any help would be great I am buying all this soon.

Although Thunderbolt is available on MBPs, MBPs with Thunderbolt enabled are still signinficantly slower than Windows desktops and laptops with the same CPU. This is, as Harm mentioned, due to their lack of ports offered. Even with Thunderbolt, MBPs are still available only with onboard Intel graphics or AMD/ATi GPUs (which cannot use Premiere Pro CS5.5's MPE GPU acceleration feature at all), and they do not support even two fast hard drives (the only supported fast hard drive on the MBP is the OS drive, and all of the offered external ports on most MBPs are significantly slower than the internal physical transfer speed of the OS drive). A few MBP's come with FW 800 ports, but even those are slower than the internal physical transfer speed of many notebook hard drives.
And did I mention that all versions of OSX (including the current release) are very poor at multithreading?
Who needs the FW 800 ports when you can daisy chain up to six devices through the Thunderbolt port?  The MBP has one TB port and the new iMac has two TB ports.  Take a look at these links:

    Hello,
I am new on Adobe forums and I nedd a question answered.
I have seen that there is no definite answer on how to import .mts files from my Canon Vixia HFR20 to Premiere Pro CS5.5.
I get "The file has an unsupported compression type" message. For now I convert the videos to .AVI but i would why would I continuosly convert them?
I bought the camera mainly for the HD, so help soon would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ethan
P.S: I have a PC to put that in mind...

Post a screen cap of what presets you have.
Maybe you have gotten the revert to trial bug and lost your options to play these files since they dont play in the trial version.
Here is what mine look like.
Here is the Properties of the file you uploaded.
And here is what sequence that was created when dragging to the New Item button.
See if you have the same options.

  • Premiere Pro CS3 camcorder help

I've been searching forums and support but can't find where a list of "Supported Camcorders" for Premiere Pro CS3 are. The closest i got was an answer to someone elses similar question which said to search the Knowledge base, (I didn't find crap in there) and the same person said to call "Tech Support"
(i actually need a code or product number).
I simply want to know which cameras will work with CS3!!!!  I know the Sondy PD150 and 170 work but they're too expensive. Any help before I purchase one that won't work??????????????????
    Thank you in advance.

Jamie, if you're using CS3 or earlier, you can't capture it. Plain and simple, CS3 doesn't recognize it. Adobe has upgraded CS4 and it captures AVCHD video just fine. I looked up and saw that your camera utilizes AVCHD video technology.
    Here's some suggestions:
1.You can try capturing it using another method (windows movie maker) and then importing it into CS3 but I'm not sure if that will work.
2.You can search a "video converter" online and download one that will convert your AVCHD video to a usable format (.mpg,.avi or other usable format) I have done this at home but have never found one that is free. Others have told me you can get a free one online.
3.Return your camera and get one that will work with your version of Premiere Pro CS3.
    4. Purchase Premiere Pro CS4
    5. I don't know what capabilities you or the camera has but some cameras can directly burn onto a DVD, if yours can and you have the capability of using a DVD player to capture video into PPCS3 then you can also try it that way.
I have captured video so many different ways that I'm amazed sometimes at how I've done it.
Sorry, doesn't seem to be a "quick" fix. And I hope this helped a little.

  • After effects & Premiere Pro CC problems -HELP-

    Hi everyone,
I'm having some slight issues with after effects and adobe premiere CS6 CC on my notebook.
I downloaded the CC and can install all the apps, and every app (photoshop, illustrator, mediaencoder etc all work.
    My notebook specs:
    8GB ram
    Nvidia 840M
(It says there is an integrated graphics aswell, maybe this could be the issue? that AE and Premiere select this one instead of the 840M)
Samsung evo 250GB SSD (Bootup drive and this is where CC is installed)
    500GB HDD 7200rpm
    For after effects:
When I run AE it starts the loading screen, but it crashes almost right away when it says "Initializing Mediacore" and gives this error:
After Effects error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <7304>
    <GPUmanager> <2> Sniffer Result Code 3
    (Error code 0 :: 42)
I think it has something to do with my VGA drivers, but I have uninstalled all the Nvidia and Intel drivers and installed both the newest and previous versions of drivers. But none fixed the issue.
Now heres where it gets interesting. yesterday I decided to test if a cracked version of AE CS6 worked on my computer. And it did, it openend smoothly and everything worked as far as I could test.
After testing I unistalled the cracked version (completly wiped everything), and reinstalled CC. But still no luck.
As for Premiere, the moment the loading screen pops up it says "Adobe Premiere CS6 has stopped working". All I can click is cancel, and when I do it just closes Premiere.
I saw a thread where someone said the issue was Nvidia geforce Experience. But even when I don't install this AE and Premiere don't work.
hope I gave you all enough information!
    thanks for your time

  • Long render time with premiere pro CS5 lately,  help!

lately my premiere pro CS5 render extremely slow
    i have a 6GB ram 64bit windows 7
is it normal to render a 10 minutes quicktime/h264 codec in 5 hours?
please take a note that this happened recently, so i think my pc spec. should not be the problem
    thanks in advance

You start off with the wrong sequence settings. To resolve that, right click on a clip in the project panel and select 'New Sequence from Clip". That will give you the correct sequence setting for your source material.
When exporting, never use QuiRcktime, since it is a 32 bit application, plagued with numerous severe problems, hence the name. Use plain 64 bit H.264 codec for exporting. If you use Maximum Render Quality, your export can take many times longer than without that checked.
Your memory and presumably the rest of your system (please give details) is not up to this task, especially not when you start with the wrong sequence settings, export with a 32 bit codec and have MRQ turned on.

  • AVCHD and Premiere Pro...HELP

    Hey guys,
After some time I've managed to stabilize my computer (with some help ).
    I'm having some trouble though...
I can't seem to get my AVCHD files to scrub smoothly in Pp5.5. I'm beginning to believe that the fault lies with Pp5.5 itself, not my hardware or settings.
    My software is up-to-date v5.5.2.
I've gone through Harm's tune tips and have changed almost everything except creating a new page file.
I've searched the forums, but have not found a fix for this problem.
I've included some screen shots in order to help you guys help me......let me know if you need any more info.
    This is driving me bonkers.
    Computer specs:
    Adobe PP CS5.5
    OS: Windows 7 Pro
    CPU: Intel Core i7 3930K 3.2GHz
CPU cooling: intel liquid cooling solution
    Motherboard: ASUS P9X79 Pro
    Memory: 32GB Samsung 1.35v
    GPU: ASUS GTX 570 1280mb
Boot Drive: 180GB corasir Force GT SSD
    Storage: Seagate 7200rpm 1TB HDD x2 RAID 0
PSU: Cooler Master 1000w Pro Gold
    Optical Drive: pioneer
    Case: Fractal Designs Full Tower (1) 180mm fan + (3) 140mm fans + (1) 120mm fan

    Hey Stephen,
When I scrub the footage, premiere jumps around the time line in large gaps. I might get 1-3 frames for every minute of video when moving the mouse/cursor at a reasonable rate. It makes previewing my footage almost impossible. I basically have to let the clip play in realtime to see what's on it.
I expect the scrubbing to be smooth. Like I see in all the training material I have been watching.
Not sure what MPE RT is? Mercury Playback Engine...Real Time?
I'm also having issues with certain features when creating titles. Such as: slow feedback when changing the "degree" of the text (it takes sometime for the degree number to change onscreen...basically jumps around). When scrubbing the linear gradient option, I'm also seeing some lagging. I've circled the areas in RED on the image below:
