More problem with JFormattedTextField
Here is the code where I want size and input validation for JFormattedTextField
MaskFormatter f10=new MaskFormatter("***************");
f10.setValidCharacters("0123456789");
t4= new JFormattedTextField(f10);
It's behaving in funny way. It allows me only specfied no of characters(15 here) and only nos. But after entering nos and when it changes the focus, the entered data is disappearing. What could be the problem?

I, like many other people it seems, have been having problems with my iTunes ever since I downloaded the latest upgrade for it.
I downloaded iTunes 7.0 on September 16th late at night. After downloading the upgrade I turned my laptop off and thought nothing of it. As I shut down my laptop however, I noticed that I recieved an error message. Ignoring it for the moment, I let my laptop shut off.
When I turned my laptop on the next morning, I noticed that nothing was working. I recieved 3 more error messages, my iTunes would not open at all, my music would [obviously] not play, and for some reason it ended up turning the "Mute" function on on my laptop sound system. After turning that off iTunes still wouldn't open.
Now, following the advice of someone in this forum, I attempted to downgrade my version of iTunes back to 6.0 [or around there] Now at least my iTunes will open, but nothing will play. When I attempt to play a song the information will show up, but it simply will not play.
I'm beginning to get really frustrated with this entire situation. A simple upgrade to my iTunes should not compromise my ability to listen to my music, and even the ability of my laptop to function properly.
Any help or advice that could be given would be greatly appreciated.

are you getting an error message? if so, what does it say? include error message numbers if you're getting any.
or are you getting no error messages whatsoever when you try to launch itunes?
if you're getting no error messages whatsoever, do you just see the wee hourglass for a few seconds, and then nothing? if so, do you also have Norton Internet Security 2005 installed on that PC?
or are you seeing a brief "flash" of the itunes license screen (and then nothing)? if so, do you also see similar behavior when you try to launch your QuickTime? -

More problems with iTunes 9.1.0.79
Hi,
since I have had my iPhone I have upgraded itunes a couple of times and never had any problems until now.
I upgraded to 9.1.0.79 two days ago and am having all sorts of issues.
Now when itunes starts it takes ages.
When my iphone is connected I get a message saying:-
+itunes cannot sync information with the iphone 'iphone' because syncing has been disabled on this computer+
I click the yes button to enable syncing and then receive an error message:-
+itunes was unable to load provider data from sync services reconnect or try again later+
I then click OK and my phone appears in the devices list.
These error messages happen every time I start itunes, so by me clicking the yes button to enable syncing does absolutely nothing.
My iphone will sync fine just that itunes tends to freeze up and is very slow.
I run a diagnostic from the help menu and without my iphone connected it shows a red dot next to 'No iPhone or iPod found', which is correct but when I have my iphone connected this red dot is now orange, what is the difference in colour?
I have turned of all anti-virus and firewall software but itunes is still the same, very unresponsive, so anti-virus/firewall is not the problem.
I followed to the letter:-

This is definitely a problem with itune 9.1.0.79 and apple should be addressing it pronto.
Here is the data from the diagnostic run and it shows my iphone as not found even though it is connected, showing in devices and I can sync to it, wierd!!

mine does same thing and i have iphone connected when i do it.
my problems also started with this update and i show 4 errors in event viewer which is under adminastrative tools in control panel.
MY problem is super slow backups for a 16gb 3Gs with 12gbs free. a backup used to be done in like 30-45 seconds now takes about 5 minutes and looks as if it stals at a few points when looking at bar at top of itunes.
my iphone shows up in itunes and shows all pages etc. i do everything manually although i do sync apps.
everytime i connect iphone and open itunes i get 4 errors thats show up only in event viewer (but anyone who maintains computers should be aware of all tools available to them to see whats going on in the background) that show up for "BONJOUR" i have posted this here and under bonjour forum. i turned off bonjour services the proper way again thrru adminastrative tools>services double click bonjour and change for "automatic to "disabled". don't do it through msconfig as some would tell you to do if it's a bonjour issue.
but checking out event viewer can give you valuable info so you don't do the apple nonsense wasting hours to clean up their messy installation only to have it do exact same thing again. it's obvoius they have a conflict.... now we can only hope for a resolution ie UPDATE if enough complain by sending them all this.
i don't have a jailbreak phone nor am i rebuilding anything i'll live with it till they fix it as my event viewer log isn't getting filled up with bonjour errors anymore nor do i need all this bloated crap apple sends our way... i do have quicktime pro. -

1) When it tells you: "ShowAFrame.java:13: cannot resolve symbol" it's saying that there's a problem with line #13, specifically, that there's a symbol that it doesn't understand.
2) Look at the carot. What's it pointing to?
Now, put 1 and 2 together. The compiler is telling you that there's a word on line 13 that it doesn't understand, and then it shows an arrow pointing to a word on line 13. Any guesses as to the culprit?

I am not sure what business process you are describing here - is it some kind of third-party sales order? If so, your join is wrong.
From VB E P, firled BANFN and BNFPO you can go to table EBAN, where in field EBELN you will find the number of the purchase order (if somebody already had an MRP+Me58 run over the PR) which will lead you to table EKKO, and EKPO.
So what we have here (essentially is):
VBAK -> VBAP -> VBEP -> EBAN -> EKKO -> EKPO
But that only solves one of your problems - you still have a long way to go to get invoices, partner and partner roles into there and I am beginning to ask myself what exactly it is you want to evaluate.
Care to explain?

More problems with new itunes not starting

Have recently downloaded upgrade of iTunes and experienced the same problems as a few others - no response when trying to start it up. I was very happy indeed yesterday when the Quicktime standalone fix worked and my music reappeared. However, on restarting today, it's back to the square one - no response! Am I doing something wrong or is there anyone who can help?
HP Windows XPI'm having the same problem on my desktop. I've done both a spyware search using ewido, and a virus check using symantec, neither of which helped. I tried uninstalling and re-installing and that also didn't help. Each time I try staring itunes I get the message:
iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
I'd be happy to send the error report that I get along with this message.
Oddly enough, this problem is only occuring on one computer. I have no problem with it on my laptop. I hadn't updated itunes for a while on my desktop.

I am having more problems with 10 for Mac than the old one. Al ot.

After spending 3 days trying to sync my Touch to itunes 7.6 i am having trouble getting the 1.1.3 update. Every time i try to do the update a box comes up saying that i need to connect to the internet even though i am. Getting very frustrated now. Would i be getting the same problems with a macbook?
Any help would be appretiated....The above is almost unreadable due to the run-on sentence and bad grammar/English.

Latest firmware update and more problems with 30" external displays?

I'm aware of various issues with the displayport to dual-dvi adapter, especially with 30" 2560x1600 monitors. All threads I've found on are 1-3 years old though.
I got my 17" macbook pro a few weeks ago and I've had very few problems running my 30" dell 3008wfp as external screen. I had issues at times getting it to work after boot up, with blackout and various errors (problems I've read about in older threads), but once stable it would work without issues for days.
Yesterday the macbook found and installed a new firmware update, and wow, all **** broke lose. The external screen won't run at 2650x1600 for more than a minute before blacking out or suffering major graphical errors. Ironically one of the key points in the firmware update is better support for external monitors...
It will run nice and stable mirrored at 1920x1200, but not at 2650x1600.

More problems with Snow Leopard - won't restart
Ever since I installed Snow Leopard, my Pro Mac has been acting like a Windows PC - problem after problem after problem.
The latest problem is the "Restart" function. If I want to restart my computer (or even if another program has to restart the computer), the system freezes. Example: I go to the Apple icon, click "Restart" and the computer goes into the blue screen with the whirling gray wheel (as if it's going to actually restart). But that's all that happens. If I leave it alone, it will sit like that for hours. It NEVER restarts. If I shut it down, I can turn the computer back on with no problem, but the "restart" function only serves to lock everything up.
Anyone have any suggestions on fixing this? Not a workaround or a band-aid... a real fix.Usually when I run up against a problem it has a known solution - if I start up the computer and see a flashing system folder I'm going to look at the hard drive. But sometimes the problem is less obvious - like yours. I'd start by unplugging everything but the keyboard, mouse and display and boot into a new user account as I've said before. I'll run hardware and disk diagnostics and if everything checks out I'll move to the new user account for an extended test.
At this point I've learned that you've installed 10.6 more than once and that you've apparently created a new user account at least once and had that appear to at least temporarily solve your problem. What I don't know is whether you've performed the hardware test yet and if you've run the disk utility application on all three drives. Also, while it seems that you have reinstall the OS you haven't indicated how. This info would be helpful.
As to your question about a 'bad installation': Snow Leopard by default performs an upgrade which installs the new OS and deletes the old OS. Incompatible applications are supposed to be moved into a folder marked incompatible. For whatever reason every once in a while things go awry and when I've run into this issue I've attempted a reinstall using the upgrade method first. This has worked often enough that I continue to do so and recommend it. When it doesn't work I erase the drive, reinstall the OS and then use the migration assistant and again, this is my typical recommendation. Only once have I run into a situation where the problem persisted and when I did another erase and install and then manually installed the user's software and manually moved her documents etc the problem didn't reappear. I concluded there must have been some incompatible program that the installer didn't catch. -
More Problems with my new computer
Well I'm beginning to think this new machine is acting very much like what happened back in 1996-97 when I rebuilt a Packard Bell Legend 1956 only to have the computer croak better than either a frog or my cartoon namesake on "South Park" because the recovery disk didn't recognize the new componentry.
after I thought I revived it with this forum's assistance. after 5 days it started acting up with "turn off computer" icon going AWOL. since I didn't have a backup I went to system restore which promptly froze midway thru the process.
so what I did was to take out my Digital Lifeguard software and try and reconfigure the I:\ drive to a C:\
eventually it said that Windows couldn't start because it needed a pci driver.
so on July 5th a technician showed up & it came back.
now on the 11th when I started it up. & changed the secondary drive to a C:\
so now I figured why not reformat the I:\ & and put XP Pro on the C:\ so my programs won't start a revolt
especially since I only had 1 day left before activation.
Now the computer is in an infinite loop saying that Windows cannot install because the hard drives are not available to install the temp files.
by thw way the chip head was wondering why both of the optical drives were on the master cable & the HD's were on the slave. he also warned me that this computer's configuration was problemaic and I will have errors.
I wanted this type of computer because I wanted to know what was the differences between an OEM & a custom built especially since they recovered quite differently as well.
In retrospect, I think I would've did much better with another OEM because I would've had recovery CD's/DVD's
and for 1 year tech support would've help me thru the transition from the old one to the new.
I've been reading the manual to this motherboard trying to figure out how to not send this computer into orbit along with the shuttle! & wasting $1600. so far nary a clue could be discerned.
the builder says that I shouldn't of tinkered with it and run the computer as he built it but the way I see it 1. If I didn't tinkered I would not be advancing my computing frontiers. 2. I would be a hostage to the builder & that is unacceptable because I would rather try & solve this myself than either pay good money waiting for somebody to fix it.

On x86 based computers, floopy disks generated by setup for non CD installations are not suitable for installing from CD

then a 2nd screen with a red progress meter appears saying that the computer will reboot in 15 seconds then it reboots with the same message going in an infinite loop.
what does this mean?
also I think one of the reasons why I'm having this problem is that not only are the two optical drives are are on the Primary Master & Slave channel
but the BIOS indicates that there are 3 more Master\Slave channels as well and the HD's are on the 3rd one
again I truly appreciate this forum trying to be the Tech support that I'm not getting with the builder.
I'm truly sorry about this as well but at least I'm learning in the same way that I did with the other computers I've had since 1994.

FF4, slower, crashes more, problems with more pages, inconvenient
Been a FF fan for a decade. But I fail to see any of what all the rave reviews say about FF4. Instead, my family of 5 are all complaining to me that FF4 is slower, crashes more, can't open more pages, they can't find where FF4 "hid" what they use to do with a single mouse click, and the firefox.exe process hangs and has to be manually killed before they can restart... which is often.
Same story at my workplace of 6 firmware engineers.
So... when is FF going to throw FF4 on the trash heap of failure and get back to what works... Believe it or not... in my IT rolls I am now recommending IE8 as more stable and reliable, and checking out other alternatives.
I've already rolled back to FF3.6x and have changed my default browser to IE8. FF4 is just not reliable or effective anymore.
I'd leave this in the "feedback" but you want to force me to FF4 (which doesn't work) to do so... and FF4 is NOT going back on my machines as is.Hello Tim:

An A&I will install a fresh OS X while preserving your files, programs, and settings. You would, of course, need to run software update to bring everything to current levels. It is always a good practice to backup before any software change.

More Problems with Adobe Application Manager
I just reformatted and upgraded from XP to Windows 7. I am trying to reinstall my Adobe applications, but AAM hangs with the message Waiting to Install... I have more than enough space. I tried rebooting my system. I deleted and reinstalled Adobe Application Manager. Nothing seems to work. How do I fix this problem?
You can launch the Adobe Application Manager (AAM) from the Start Menu on Windows or from the Applications folder on Mac OS X. It will look like this:
Just click on the Install link for the program you want to try. You will see a progress bar for the download and install and then be able to launch the program once it is complete.
Alternatively if you are signed in with your Adobe ID on the Creative Cloud Apps page at https://creative.adobe.com/apps you can click the Try link. AAM will launch, download and install the program. -
More problems with securityd -- pegging CPU, not using much memory
Well, I'm at my wits end with this one. I'm going to probably have to do a very painful system restore tomorrow night if I can't come up with a solution.
The infamous 'securityd' process is at it again, this time it's pegging my CPU. It differs from other common problems in that it's hardly using any RAM at all (approx. 290KB)! Regardless, one of my CPU cores is maxed out dealing with it, and if I use the System Monitor to display information, the amount of Unix System Calls is rising at a laughable rate.
I've tried the common solution to the similar issue of deleting the /var/db/CodeEquivalenceDatabase, however in this case it does nothing. Upon reboot, 'securityd' immediately begins chewing up as much CPU time as it can get its hands on. The only way to stop it from doing so is to forcibly kill the process, which of course breaks functionality with anything that requires authentication.
This is becoming VERY annoying. Does anybody have a solution other than having to perform a System Restore? That's about the only option I have left, and I'm not very happy about it.Hi - thanks for the quick reply - my router is normally on 24/7 and I have rarely seen it disconnect. I only ever reboot the router if there is a problem. It was 'suggested' by BT India after I called them this morning that I should reboot the router but other than moving it to plug into the main socket it hasn't been off since Monday when I logged the fault.
As you say the noise seems high - I wasn't even asked about this when I reported the fault - but it does not get any better if I plug into the master socket so I don't think it is an issue with the internal wiring.
The crux of my post is that:-
1> Support did not seem concerned in investigating WHY the profile dropped but just requested a reset of the profile
2> After the allotted time there has not been an improvement suggesting an underlying cause
3> IP profiles seem to cause more support issues than they resolve
4> How can I get the speed improved without waiting another 63 1/2 hours?
