- Please put the "Topic Page View" options back on the top of each topic. Short threads are easy to read, but for longer threads I like to switch to "Tree View" to see what's been read. Currently, I need to jump to "My Settings" every time I want to change the view.
- Tree view does not show which posts were "Helpful" and which one gave the "Answer." If these are supposed to be helpful, they should be easy to find without switching the view settings.
- Tree view: can it be compressed so as to not take up so much screen? The old outline view was nice and compact.
- "My Posts" - I can't figure how to be able to view more than 10 at a time. Could this also allow 25 or 50 on a page.
- Some screen real estate could be saved by making the avatars a little smaller.
- It would be helpful for the message formatting buttons "b", "i", and "u" to set the code where the cursor is, instead of at the end of a message.

Yes, by you. Make a bookmark that says:

In Safari you can do this by pasting the above line in the Address window and then dragging the favicon to the Bookmarks Bar and giving it a short name such as "My Posts". In Firefox you have to create a new bookmark in Manage Bookmarks.
This bookmark will start show your first 75 posts. You can change "75" to whatever you want, but the larger the number, the longer it waill take for the page to load. Clicking on next will show you the second 75, and so on.

I had a crazy idea, but it just might work...
Would it be possible to put a window somewhere on the listing
screen - and have that window show about three randomly selected
themes that are among the previous 500 (or so...). It could be like
a "featured gallery". Maybe it could fit under the "Links" link.
What would be really cool is if you allowed the featured
themes to stay resident for about 15 minutes, then rollover three
more randomly chosen out of the top 500 themes. (Oh please, Santa -
please???)
This would give people the delight and anticipation of
seeing if any of their themes will show up. It will also increase
visibility of some very nice, but otherwise forgotten ones.
There is a lot of competetion to be among the most popular -
to get into that golden few. This will bring back around those
shiny, new color themes that are so quickly hurled into the great
beyond. Otherwise I think the top ranked one's will probably be
there for a long time because of low visibility of competing
themes.

I was also thinking that if they do the rotating gallery of
random themes like I was suggesting, they should change it every
couple of minutes or so, not every fifteen minutes like I
originally suggested. Humans are prone to boredom and they like
change.

More suggested improvements for iWeb

I think iWeb is absolutely brill. I’ve had it about three weeks now, and for a first software version the outlook is very promising. Looking at people's sites it certainly is flexible enough for both text heavy sites and media sites, and some of the designs are amazing. I love the drag and drop simplicity and the speed with which you can build a site from nothing at all. Gone are the days of ******* about with tables and percentages and stuff like that. My HTML (and my memory of it) was ancient by the time I could build up enough energy to tackle generating even a simple page. Now I'm tinkering about on a daily basis.
However, there are some things I'd like to see in version 1.1 or 1.2 (I don't want to wait until iWeb 2.0 in iLife 07!). I know a lot of these have already been mentioned in wish lists in this forum (some of which seem quite advanced in nature, dependent on .mac changes or server side technology) but hopefully I’ve some new suggestions coming from the perspective of a beginner or simple personal homepage designer. Here’s my list roughly in order of importance:
1. Publishing of only changed pages – the single most important in my view
2. Ability to cut and paste HTML into ‘HTML’ shapes through the inspector, thus solving the blog comments, banners, hit counters, metatags issues all in one shot
3. Ability to preview a page in browser of your choice immediately there and then to check how it looks without publishing
4. Ability to configure titles of pages correctly, instead of basic titles like ‘Home’ ‘About Us’ – allow titles to be different from page name
5. Better use of optimised images and code to reduce loading times
6. Ability to lock, unlock, group and ungroup page elements a la Appleworks
7. Proper support for adding hyperlinks to animated gifs instead of having to use a workaround
8. Ability to select whether links open in a new blank browser page and to go to specific anchors on a page
9. Ability to add pop-up comments via the inspector to items that you haven’t got round to building yet
10. Ability to control size of photo thumbnails, and have more than 3 wide, instead of having one really really long page
11. Proper site manager with truly independent sites and independent publishing
12. Again, the site manager should allow you to nest pages to aid organisation of your pages instead of having them all in one long list (doesn’t necessarily have to link them either)
13. Ability to change template midway through design
14. Ability to alter hyperlink colours, surrounds and add rollovers including template ones and ability to save these changes to custom templates
15. Addition of other Apple items as buttons, eg ‘Visit Apple Store’ ‘Get Quicktime’ ‘iTunes Music Store’ with the correct links, to further spread the Apple Love
16. Built in favicon editor in the inspector, a simple one will do
17. Allow FTP to non .mac site though not essential
That’s my list. And, yes, I have sent iWeb feedback. Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I would very much like to see the ability to add FORMS to web pages, and the ability to have the information from the forms either be sent to the site owner, or shown on a continually updated webpage (which would be great for surveys). For that matter, the ability to add types of graphs/charts by simply entering info into the Inspector and assigning it a value would be quite helpful too.
Pull-down menus in navigation bars would be lovely. ANYTHING to help with more complicated site navigation, please. Fixed nav bars (that don't move when scrolling) would help with overly-long pages.
I would also like to see an additional type of PHOTO page -- maybe call it an ALBUMS page -- that works like the main BLOG page, updating automatically. So basically whenever a traditional PHOTO page is made, an image (the first photo from that page) appears on the ALBUMS page -- which becomes a clickable hyperlink to that page. Yes, I know there's a way to build something like this from a blank page by dragging photo albums from iPhoto -- but it would be so much simpler (and faster -- especially with PHOTO page-heavy sites) to have a main ALBUMS page that does all the work for you.
I know there's a million other things I'd love to see, but these were the ones (not already mentioned above) that popped in my head first.

IPad alignment issues - any more suggestions in late 2013?

I realise that this question has been asked before, but many of the replies are from over a year ago, so I am wondering if anyone can shed anymore light on it?
I have a site I designed in Muse that displays justified left on an ipad and iphone, rather then centered.
I have gone through the pages and there seems to be no objects that are sitting to the right of the page which would cause the problem.
I tried adding 'overflow:hidden' in the css file, and while this fixed the issue on the ipad, it stopped the full browser width images and footer diaplying at full width.
Any more ideas on how to fix this? Is it possible to add 'overflow;hidden' to the css file AND keep the footer and full browser with images displaying at full width?

Lol, sorry about that. It seems we exchanged typos. Yours in the original URL and mine in neglecting to type "not" a Muse generate site.
Now that I'm looking at the correct (very nice) site, a couple notes.
First, when scroll effects are used, the pinch to zoom functionality on mobile devices is disabled. Due to idiosyncrasies of mobile browsers we have yet to find a way to have scroll effects work correctly/reliably across mobile browsers when combined with pinch zooming. (If you find sites with scroll effects that have pinch zooming enable, please point them out to us. Perhaps we'll be able to determine a way to enabling pinch zooming with scroll effects in the future.)
Second, when a site is loaded into a mobile browser the browser will zoom the view such that the left edge of the page is at the left edge of the device and the right edge of the content (which is the page width if everything is within the page width) is at the right edge of the device.
From the appearance of your site in a mobile browser I expect the content in the Work section of the page is flush with the left edge of the page and that somewhere on the page there's content that extends to roughly ruler location 1333, since the browser appears to be zooming out so roughly 1333 pixels are scaled down to fit in the width of the device.
If this doesn't appear to match what things looks like in Design view, a screenshot of the Work section in design view with guides displayed and everything unlocked, visible and selected may help us better understand the layout.
If this does match the current appearance, then moving everything to the right on the page would provide a left "margin" and verifying no content is outside the right of the page will cause the area between zero and the right page edge to scale to fill mobile browsers.

You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

Based on this first input value(01/2009) my records are displayed.
My query now will have the condition in "Where" clause as

this 03-jan-09 comes from first value ie 01/2009 LAST DATE OF THE FIRST WEEK OF 2009.
how to retrieve this?

IChat used to work fine but not any more - suggestions?

I've used iChat for about 1 year very successfully but recently video chat has stopped working. I have a MacBook Pro that doesn't work and a PowerBook where it still works fine.
Both have the same system and iChat software. Both are on the same wireless network. The Powerbook can connect to collegues and also the Apple test users (appleu3test01, 02, 03 etc.) while the MacBook Pro no longer connects although it used to connect just fine.
Symptom: I've tried having the MacBook request a conference with the PowerBook and the PowerBook never realizes that the MacBook requested a conference. When I try to initiate the conference from the PowerBook to the MacBook the MacBook never acknowledges that there has been a request. If I try to connect to appleu3test01 iChat on the MacBook displays
"Waiting for response..." for as long as I leave it the request window open.
It seems my MacBook Pro can no longer initiate nor recognize a video chat. (text chat works fine)
Given the above situation I have not tried to modify my router settings nor look into what my service provider might be doing - after all, everthing is still working great on one of my Macs.
All I have done is to try the old school Mac trick of deleting preferences. Specifically the com.apple.iChat.SubNet.plist, com.apple.iChatAgent.plist, com.apple.iChat.plist plists. That made no difference.
If anyone has any suggestions for me I would be very grateful.

I share that funny feeling but:
10.4.3 is to long ago for me to know whether it is within reach of the backward compatibility specifics of 10.4.10, the machine specifics, the routers settings and it's performance in combination with the italian provider and the policy they have towards their subscribers. Just to give an example, apparently the Powerbook does video chat, the MacBook doesn't The QT version that currently is downloadable has system requirements that ask for 10.4.9 as a minimum. And that is just a detail.
A little change to your settings could solve this, but I advice you to to a reset of your network hardware, and update them one by one to the current release versions of their hard (firmware) and software. Check the site of the ISP and router for advise on their current network mode. Write down their details, and your required input network access. Unplug the devices. Leave them a good 15 minutes to power completely down. The device that comes first in contact with the internet connection needs to be plugged in first. Wait till the lights are blinking stable, now connect your MacBook Pro direct to the Ethernet port of the Modem (?) and log in to the interface of the device by typing it's IP address into Safari. Choose easy set up, and you will be asked to input the information you have previously checked on your ISP's site. Check if the firmware corresponds with the version you looked up on their site. It probably will mention if there is new software available and it will take a minute. After the device has restarted, connectivity is confirmed. Click an internet site in safari, and walk through the network diagnostics windows to set up a stable network conform ISP advice. Now the second mac needs to start, select a site in safari, if it needs diagnostics it will ask, respond in accordance to join the network you just have set up.
Some possible trouble causes to look at as well:
Channel settings used by the american sold Extreme is not set to a number that the Italian bought Express automatically switched to as interference was eminently asking for. (Or vice versa and variations on the theme)
Encryption running on the MacBook Pro could cause the problem etc.
The MacBook Pro has an Extreme card. The Powerbook has an Express card.
The Extreme is limited to the performance of the Express now.
Check the help feature as well, open iChat, select help in the top menu.
You need to have a valid internet account, and current up to date software & firmware.
Hope it covers your issue but if it is not solved please post back: Firewall or router settings are likely to cause these problems as well. I am not very good at those.

Since I downloaded 8.02 it's taking over 3 minutes per page to load, sometimes more. suggestions?

OK, So I'm NEW to Firefox, however I'm a Computer user for more then 26+ years, so although not a GEEK, I'm fairly knowledgeable how to use most venues.
I open Firefox to search for a specific environment, after receiving the selections I click on one to review it. I try to go back to the original page of selections, but the ARROWED BACK BUTTON does not go back, Then I click the right mouse to go back that way, and it is either grayed out or does not function as intended. I try to close the original page, but No option is available other then to QUIT, which is not what I want.

The "Use custom settings for history" setting allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting that setting doesn't make any changes to history and cookie settings. 
Firefox shows the "Use custom settings for history" setting as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made. 
If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".

Firefox 4 on Win7 uses 100% CPU for Favicon Animation. Allready reinstalled it, created a new Profile and deleted the old one. Firefox still gets very slow over time. Any more suggestions?

FED UP - although I have done everything advised by Firefox to allow cookies from sites - there are still several that say I do not have cookies enabled - even when I do? Any more suggestions?

Any more suggestions for spotty Flash in Firefox?

Have tried all the combinations, but there are some videos that are black screen and will not load, while others are fine. It is frustrating, to say the least. Is there anything new on the front besides updating or downgrading the various programs, such as Flash and RealPlayer? Using Firefox 16.02 and Windows 7, 64 bit.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
