More than 1,000 values in a picklist

Does any one has a solution or a workaround? In release 15 I used to add more than 1000 values to a picklist throught import (csv) but now in release 16 this bug has been corrected, I tried also throught web service and now it is not possible. The problem here is that I need to add more than 1000 values to a picklist (town) and use it in a cascading picklist, I'm not able to use dynamic layouts because they are used for anther field that it is really important too.
I need this because in Mexico we have state and municipality (city hall, town); each state has certains towns and this field could not be captured by the user because it is a key field.
Can you help me please? Any suggestion you might have please let me know.

This is a helpful answer but I have a doubt, example picklist 1 "country" = Mexico, picklist 2 "state"= DF, NUEVO LEON, CAMPECHE, SONORA, SINALOA ....... but with customobject it wont be possible to filter de Municipality in order to appears just the town's related with Nuevo Leon, or just the town's releated with Campeche.

Hi,
if you need to create an appropriate content structure, you have to consider many aspects. If the amount of content is small, many of these aspects are not that important, but if the number of elements/pages are getting larger, they will get important.
One aspect to know is the way how this content is accessed. Is your primary access pattern search or browse? In the search case the location of an element can be quite random, but when you browse you will follow an (intuitive) pattern.
Another aspect is the the kind of access. Do you have many create/delete operations? Only read?
Then: Are these content elements maintained by the system itself (for example by an automatic importer) or are editors required to work on these elements?
The better you can answer such questions, the better it's possible to model a content structure. In practice of CQ5/CRX a few patterns have established like
Natural Hierarchy (like: continent/country/state or brand/branch/product/)
A total ordering of all elements can be established (like postal codes: There you can structure by the orders of the numbers: 5368 could become /5/3/6/8)
A total ordering of elements is being created artificially by hashing methods. This approach cannot/should not be used for content which is maintained by humans.

Please consider using a check table for the characteristic involved if you are working with large
number of values assigned
With a check table you have a possibility to work with a huge amount of values , also the performance should improve

Wow that was really quick, thank you so much. Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it. I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names. isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)

I check my script it pull out total 422076 records.
Is it meaning I cannot More than 300,000 records??
Is there any where I can set MAX records I can generate for my single script to run??

You should use
*XDIM_MAXMEMBERS dimension = numberOfMembers to be processed at a time
For example
*XDIM_MAXMEMBERS Entity = 50
Figure out wich dimension has the most members, and use it, this sections you script logic.

i want to submit a large number of task to a thread pool (more than 10,000).
Since a thread pool take runnable as input i have to create as many objects of Runnable as the number of task, but since the number of task is very large it causes the memory overflow and my application crashes.
Can you suggest me some way to overcome this problem?

What is the best approach to fetch more than 10,000 rows from database ?

I am new to JDBC. I have a table containing more than 10,000 rows. I don't want to fetch all of them at one shot, because it takes too much time and consumes too much memory. I want to fetch 500 rows first to return to end user. When end user wants more, I fetch subsequent 500 rows until all 10,000 rows are fetched. But how to do this in JDBC? The most difficult thing to me is how to remember the fetched position so that I can fetch each 500 rows subsequently. Could someone help me on that? Sample code is better. Thank you very much.

I'm implementing AJAX in Oracle Application Express to perform DML operations on a table. I need to send more than one name value pair via the ajaxRequest object. Can someone guide me how to achieve this? Say for example i need to send 2 values(need to send 2 form elements when submit button is clicked) P3_region and P3_scope. i tried the following methods.

there is any feature of sql server 2008 r2 database that can handles more than 50,000 concurrent connection at a time with high availability. That can do " insert/update/delete/select " anything.

SQL server cannot accommodate 50k update statements simultaneously from 50k sessions. As others have stated, the physical active session limit of the platform is ~32k, and if you genuinely want that out of the box with load balancing on a single db at that
kind of scale then sql server 2008 r2 is the wrong platform.
For what it's worth, Minimum memory overhead per connection will help you work out what your minimum memory requirements are. Note that it's variable dependent
upon the network packet size, which is partially a configuration question, partly one of instruction (byte size of actual db interactions) and finally the size of the actual workload being generated by the session.
Number of processors, and indeed what their capabilities are, that's entirely up to you. To facilitate such a high number of connections concurrently in all honesty I think your network stack is a bigger concern. There is no single golden configuration
for SQL Server, certainly not something that could win a pub quiz with the details provided. While it would be possible to design a theoretical configuration on paper without resorting to building the tin, I can imagine the numbers you come up with might be
a little difficult to build. Just ask Amazon!
