More than 1 ipod, need seperate itune acct

can someone help me out, I need to find a way to open a seperate itune acct

No need. Each iPod is recognized by iTunes and has its own preferences. Create the playlists you want to use for iPod #1, connect the iPod, in preferences click on sync selected playlists - and select the playlists you created. Disconnect that iPod. Create some new playlists and repeat the process for iPod #2.
You may want to include a special character in the Playlist names to differentiate between iPod #1 playlists and iPod #2 playlists. Prior to iTunes 5, I put • or ? at the beginning of my playlist names to keep them organized. Now I have a folder for each iPod and I put the characters at the end of the playlist names.

  • Can more than one ipod use an itunes library

Sorry for the newbe qestion but I need some advice for my daughters ipod. I have two libraries on two different computers. how do i set the itunes to manual sync. Can I also sync different ipods, we have several.
    thx

*I have two libraries on two different computers. how do i set the itunes to manual sync*
You don't set iTunes to manual, you set the iPod. If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer or with more than one library you need to change the update preference in the iPod Summary tab to "Manually manage music and videos" and click Apply. The content of iTunes and the iPod are not syncronised in this mode so the two can be different. You can directly access the content of the iPod and play it through iTunes and you can drag and drop whatever you want to the iPod from either library:
    Using iPod with Multiple computers
    Managing content manually on iPod
    Syncing Music to iPod
Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device: Safely Disconnect IPod
*Can I also sync different ipods, we have several*
There are a few different ways to use multiple iPods with one computer. However if the iPods are also being used with multiple computers then you'll be using the manual method regardless and not any form of auto-sync. • More than one IPOD on my ITUNES

Hello, I am a bit dim.
I have a Nano that works fine with my iTunes and is all synched up and that.
It was previously synched to the same computer with an older harddrive that died. Also with this old harddrive we filled my wife's Shuffle. When the harddrive died we got a new one and after some fuss got my Nano working again, but . . .
when my wife wants to be able to add stuff to her Shuffle via my iTunes, when we plug it in it is recognised but the contents come up greyed out and you can't drag anything to it. Neither is there the option in the pane to add things manually. She wants to keep the stuff that's on there on there and add more. Don't want to use Autofill (the only option currently on offer) as we have divergent tastes and she won't like what her stuff gets replaced with at all.
I know that I need to link the Shuffle to my iTunes but I don't know (or remember, I think I once knew) how to do that without erasing everything on there. Surely it's possible to have more than one 'pod running from the same iTunes account . . . .
    Can anyone help?

Sorry, but an iPod Shuffle can only be synchronized to one computer at a time. It's not like other iPod models where there's a "manual sync" mode that allows you to connect to multiple copies of iTunes. If you connect an iPod Shuffle to another computer and sync, all the previous content on the Shuffle will be erased.

  • HT1473 can i use more than one ipod on my itunes account?  How do I get the music from one itune account into another on one computer?

My husband and I would like to combine our itunes libraries into one for each of our ipods.  Can this be done?

You can just copy all of your music to an external sourcce ( cd/dvd/flash drive/hard drive) then copy onto the other computer.
You can type "merge itunes library" into the google search bar.

  • Can you have more than three ipods registered to a itunes account?

Everyone in our family has a ipod video. so we have a total of 5 in the house. The question I am wondering about is.. can more than 3 ipods be registered to an itunes account? and if not..can we make a new account for the other two? when my son is at college would he be able to log on to the itunes or would he only be able to do it when he came home to visit? Since we would be loading the songs and videos on this end?
Thanks.. we are all new to this..

can more than 3 ipods be registered to an itunes account?
You don't register iPods to an iTunes account.
You simply have an iTunes account at the iTunes store.
You can use this on any computer in the world with internet access. You can use this one iTunes account to purchase and play music on up to 5 computers at a time.
when my son is at college would he be able to log on to the itunes
He can use iTunes whenever he wants.
You don't need to log on to run iTunes.

  • Use of same iTune for more than one iPod

I need to find out whether I can use the same itune in one computer for more than one iPod nano and one iPod video?

I looked at the article, but it doesn't help me know how once I have downloaded onto a nano, for example, the itunes knows that the next thing I connect is something different. My son hooked up his 20GB ipod last night after updating his sister's nano and now the itunes thinks his ipod is a nano. How do I get the itunes to recognize his ipod as the 20GB it is?

  • My wife and I both have the iphone and we use my macbook pro with iTunes to sync our ipods. When I do something on my iPhone it shows on hers. How do I set up her a seperate iTunes acct on my mac so she can operate independent of me?

My wife and I both have the iphone and we use my macbook pro with iTunes to sync our ipods. When I do something on my iPhone it shows on hers. How do I set up her a seperate iTunes acct on my mac so she can operate independent of me?

There's info here on setting up separate libraries and user accounts. You won't have to reload (or re-import) all the music, just copy it.
The reason I suggest separate accounts on the Mac is because if you have the two libraries under the same user account, iTunes will also open the last library that was open in that account, and you'll always have to be mindful of which library that is. If you open iTunes and find it's not your library, you'll have quit, relaunch holding the option key and select the other library.
No, you won't have to log in and out of the Mac. (If I'm understanding your question here.) Multiple accounts can be logged in at the same time. And with fast user switching, you can toggle between user accounts.
I'll admit that maintaining the two libraries gets a little tricky, because if you share all the same music, you'll have to add it to one and update the other. (That won't happen automatically.) But I think Home Sharing makes this much easier to do.
    Hope that helps!

  • Can I use more than 1 laptop to download iTunes for iPod touch please

Can I use more than 1 laptop to download iTunes to iPod touch?

My daughter disabled her iPod we took it into the shop to reset it but when I'm starting to add details again it says connect to iTunes we have never used a laptop with this as ours is broken. Someone has offered to do it on their laptop that's why I have asked. Is there no way we could use another laptop in the future. We only buy iTunes cards for it at the moment.
