What software and version did you use to determine you had 1200+ bad blocks?
Was it compatible with Lion?
Run the scan again and take a screen shot of the results and make sure to save it to a external media and disconnect it, you will need this to perform a warranty call and have the drive replaced.
After you have backed up your files to a external storage drive and disconnected it.
Hold Command r upon rebooting and enter the Lion Recovery Partition and run Disk Utility, see if the drive needs repair. I suspect it does. Check the smart status too.

Also make a clone of your OS X Lion Partition on a external drive, this way your prepared if the drive dies, you can option boot off the clone. If you get a new drive you have a copy of Lion Recovery on the USB.
It's highly unusual for a drive to have 1200+ bad blocks, the Zero Erase Free Space will confirm it as it's going to use up all your spare blocks.
The drive will likely brick, which you then can option boot off the clone.
Schedule a Apple warranty/AppleCare call if your under it, or order a new drive online from OtherWorld Computing "kits", iFixit for videos or other Mac places online.

However if your Zero Erase Free Space turns out fine, then I suspect the software you used or perhaps something else is wrong with your OS X not correctly reporting your drives data characteristics correctly.
You could be spared a costly repair if that's the case.

Our Environment is Essbase 11.1.2.2 and working on Essbase EAS and Shared Services components.One of our user tried to run the Cal Script of one Application and faced this error.
Dynamic Calc processor cannot lock more than [100] ESM blocks during the calculation, please increase CalcLockBlock setting and then retry(a small data cache setting could also cause this problem, please check the data cache size setting).
I have done some Google and found that we need to add something in Essbase.cfg file like below.

Possible Problems
Analytic Services could not lock enough blocks to perform the calculation.
Possible Solutions
Increase the number of blocks that Analytic Services can allocate for a calculation:
Set the maximum number of blocks that Analytic Services can allocate to at least 500.
If you do not have an $ARBORPATH/bin/essbase.cfg file on the server computer, create one using a text editor.
In the essbase.cfg file on the server computer, set CALCLOCKBLOCKHIGH to 500.
Stop and restart Analytic Server.
Add the SET LOCKBLOCK HIGH command to the beginning of the calculation script.
Set the data cache large enough to hold all the blocks specified in the CALCLOCKBLOCKHIGH setting.
Determine the block size.
Set the data catche size.
Actually in our Server Config file(essbase.cfg) we dont have below data added.
CalcLockBlockHigh 2000
CalcLockBlockDefault 200
CalcLockBlocklow 50
So my doubt is if we edit the Essbase.cfg file and add the above settings and restart the services will it work? and if so why should we change the Server config file if the problem is with one application Cal Script. Please guide me how to proceed.

NaveenYour calculation needs to hold more blocks in memory than your current set up allows.
From the docs (quoting so I don't have to write it, not to be a smarta***:
CALCLOCKBLOCK specifies the number of blocks that can be fixed at each level of the SET LOCKBLOCK HIGH | DEFAULT | LOW calculation script command.
When a block is calculated, Essbase fixes (gets addressability to) the block along with the blocks containing its children. Essbase calculates the block and then releases it along with the blocks containing its children. By default, Essbase allows up to 100 blocks to be fixed concurrently when calculating a block. This is sufficient for most database calculations. However, you may want to set a number higher than 100 if you are consolidating very large numbers of children in a formula calculation. This ensures that Essbase can fix all the required blocks when calculating a data block and that performance will not be impaired.
Example
If the essbase.cfg file contains the following settings:
CALCLOCKBLOCKHIGH 500 CALCLOCKBLOCKDEFAULT 200 CALCLOCKBLOCKLOW 50
then you can use the following SET LOCKBLOCK setting commands in a calculation script:
SET LOCKBLOCK HIGH;
means that Essbase can fix up to 500 data blocks when calculating one block.
Support doc is saying to change your config file so those settings can be made available for any calc script to use.
On a side note, if this was working previously and now isn't then it is worth investigating if this is simply due to standard growth or a recent change that has made an unexpected significant impact. -
I went to my local Apple Store with a display problem and was told 700 dollars to reair it there or send it in for a complete overhaul referbish for
310 plus tax. I took it home consulted with my wife she said for a 2008 310 wasn't bad. I brought it in and set I an agreement for the 310 and sent it in to returned in 3 to 5 days. I also read online that others had done the same theing. 3 Days later I get an email from Apple that the repair would cost more than 1200 dollars and do I want to repair it for that price. I called Tim Simpson and was told Apple doesn't honor agreements made at the retail store. Should Apple be obligated to honor it's contracts. I am assuming that Apple retail and Apple repair work for the same company. The hinge problem has been a problem and Apple had a free repair window for 6 months but didn't tell it's customers about it. At least I never heard from them. So when is a contract a contract and has Apple success lesoned it's famouse customer support. We have been using Mac's since the 80's and currently have 7 products currently in use in our household. Thanks for the response. The store told me everything would be fixed for 310 because the go through the entire computer and fix any problems they find. Now was that a written guarantee or a verbal assurance. To Bob if I wasn't told that the price would be lower then I wouldn't have bothered to send it in and we would use it until it stopped functioning and know one would be upset. It was at the store suggestion I sent it in and spent over an hour of my time traveling to an from the only Apple store in my area. I worked in technology for 12 years and have dealt with and performed customer service on a professional level. I have experience with contracts and if someone says we will do something for you writes up an invoice and does not say that it is up to the "depot" then there is a case to be made. -

Also the customer would like it if they could convert said pdf form to a microsoft word document with the text form.
There's no limit on the number of characters you can enter into a text
field, unless you set it as such. -

We are working on a pdf to send to our customers. The form has more than 500 fields but we only need to register some of them, the other fields will be filled in the pdf, saved and sent bak to us. Is there any way to do that?

Are you trying to install the 32-bit version on a 64-bit machine, or vice versa?

1) Am I right when I presume ASM will increase my request to 1 complete AU sized retrieval action done on the I/O subsystem?
2) Now what interests me is where does the rest of that I/O size sleep / reside ?
3) Under what circumstances will those poor, initially unused and discarded KB's be revived and be reckognized for their true value. Will only certain actions, like a scan, cause the 'overhead' to be used ?

ASM does not do IOs .
ASM only gives extent map to clients and clients take that pointers and do direct IO on that block.
This is very much true statement and explains what will happen if data block is not available at buffer .
That's why most of IO errors are getting printed on rdbms alertlog file ,rather ASM .Which inturn confirms my statement...
ASM level DBWR ,LGWR are related to ASM level data processing .
Keeping above things in mind ,it clarifies ASM does not hold any IOs /place on sleep.
ASM at diskgroup level,always does IOs as per au_size of that diskgroup .

I think I would cancel it. Unplug phone, then plug back in and then maybe only select download instead of download and install. Thats what I did for our phones and so far we have no issues at all with any of the features - new or old. I don't know why that would make a difference though. But it will allow you to unplug your phone once the download starts and go do your thing while its downloading. Then you can come back later and when u plug in iTunes will ask you to install new software for phone.

You can backup your iTunes library - Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive - then restore it on the other computer. I often have requests for images to be sent within certain parameters: such as "no longer than 1200 pixels on longest side + jpeg format + file size no less than 5 mb." Images will be viewed on a large stand up screen. My original image sizes are usually around 22 mb. When I use Export and specify 1200 pixels (quality setting is all the way over to 12), Save the file to a folder on the desktop, and then open the image in Preview, Inspector shows that the file size is now 233 KB. How do I meet all specifications without reducing the image size so drastically?

That will depend on the amount of of detail in your jpeg. Given a certain pixels size and level of quality, a jpeg with many details will require a larger filesize than a jpeg with large plain regions of constant color.
Is 833 KB a big enough file size to view on a big screen?
The file size is really unimportant for the quality. What will count is the pixel size and jpeg quality you set. What is the pixel size of the large screen? That should match the pixel size you are using in your export preset. 1200 longest dimension is extremely unlikely for a large screen. Even the 17" display of my MacBook Pro has a larger pixelsize of 1920x1200.
I am sharing William Lloyd's doubts, that the specifications you were given are correct. I'd try to export with a larger pixelsize and a high jpeg quality - perhaps 10.
If you export with 10 Megapixel and a good jpeg quality, you will probably get a 5MB file, not that the size should matter. -
I have tested Google Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer. Firefox is using between 500-1100 ms accesstime, using Bredbandskollen.se, while the other two only uses around 10 ms!

1) YES, I am using version 4, build 0024.00. Forgot to mention that I use Windows 7 64-bit and Firefox 11 (I don't use Chrome or IE)
2) I cannot confirm that, because the problem doesn't appear every time. For example, today EVERYTHING works OK! I haven't change anything or done something different, but since I boot my T410s, every site log in with ONLY one swipe (today even Yahoo for the first time). As I said, SOMETIMES PWM asks for one swipe, other for 2 and rarely for 3 swipes. But I think that when the problem appears, PWM need more than one fingerprint swipe every time I go to the website.
3) The setting for "before logging me into a Web site or application..." is "Every time". As I said, I need this setting to be "Every time", as my notebook sometimes is being used by other persons.
It is really a stange problem and when it appears it is very annoying. Have you any other ideas about what it's going on? -

I am creating a report that is to be grouped on a particular field that can have more than one entry. My user said they did not care how I did it but to only count the record one time. The field that is selected is a dropdown on an form that is in Alpha order. So the entries always appear in the the field in alpha order. This is for use as an example: Record 1 has a value of CAT in the field, Record 2 has a value of CAT, DOG in the field and Record 3 has a value of CAT, DOG, HORSE in the field. I get 3 separate groupings for the 3 records.
Group = CAT
Then the detail information appears here
Group = CAT, DOG
Then the detail information appears here
Group = CAT,DOG,HORSE
Then the detail information appears here
What is would like to see using this example is one group for CAT with all 3 records appearing under it and ignore the other two. This way there would all be getting counted but the report would look a little more streamlined.

record 3 detail information

I am trying resolve the same/similar issue in Crystal Reports 10. For example, on a table there is a column called X with values Xsub1, Xsub2, Xsub3, etc. The user can select a parameter that includes Xsub2 and Xsub4. If this is selected 2 reports are generated (one for Xsub2 and Xsub4). What we really want is one report with the combined information for Xsub2 and Xsub4. How is (or is it) possible to do this in Crystal Reports 10? FYI - When the report was initially created the main body of the report was placed in the Group Footer so if the Group Footer is suppressed the content of the report is suppressed, too.

Need advice on second hard disk configuration/moving folders/...
Hello everyone!
I just bought a second internal 250gig hard disk, because my first one was getting full.
As far as I heard it is advised to keep the Logic program and the OS on one disk, and to do all recordings and save all projects on a second disk. Am I correct so far?
Now, of course all my previous projects are located on the same disk as my OS and Logic Program.
How do I safely move all projects (and their soundfiles) to my second disk? Can I just move the folders to the new disk and will all projects work? Or are there special procedures to be made? I would hate to do things which cause all projects to be scrambled and unusable.
Please give as much 'step by step' explanations as possible...
And if you have any other remarks or tips, I'd be glad to hear about them!
I am aware that for my future recordings I will have to change the record path in Logic to my new second drive, so no need to write about that...
