I recently had my logic board changed on my Mac Book pro. Now I have more than 5 computers authorized to iTunes. How do I de-authorize a computer I do not have access too?
If you have reached the limit of 5, then deauthorize all and authorize the active computers:

Why is my computer telling me I can't authorize Itunes because I have more than 5 computers authorized. I don't
If you have any other computers, have ever created alternate iTunes libraries or used iTunes in other user accounts, you might want want to try and deauthorize all. Then you can authorize the computers you are currently using with iTunes.
(From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1420)
You can use or sync your purchases from the iTunes Store on up to five different computers (these can be any mix of Macintosh or Windows-compatible computers). When you sync or play an item you've purchased, your computer is "authorized" for purchase using your Apple ID.
To deauthorize all computers associated with your Apple ID
If you need to authorize your new computer and are unable due to already having five authorized computers, you can deauthorize all computers by doing the following:
Click iTunes Store on the left side of iTunes.
If you're not signed in to the store, click the Account button, then enter your account name and password.
Click the Account button again (your Apple ID appears on the button), enter your password, and then click View Account.
In the Account Information window, click Deauthorize All.
Note: You may only use this feature once per year. The Deauthorize All button will not appear if you have fewer than two authorized computers. If you need assistance on using this feature, please contact iTunes Store support via email (http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/). -

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can authorise up to 5 computers for one ID. -
Hi, I have authorized 4/5 computers, now what once I'll be done with all 5/5 computers? Can I authorize more than 5 computers? Also I do not have any of the back up of other 3 computers I've authorized. Please help me!! Thanks
No more than five computers can be authorized at any given time. Computers can be individually deauthorized by using the Deauthorize Computer function; once a year, you can deauthorize all the computers without needing access to them.

I'm trying to back up my phone and itunes states I can't authorize more than 5 computers with this apple ID, I no longer own any of the other computers I supposedly authorized my account on. What now? I can't back up my iphone.
Use the Deauthorize All command documented in this article, or if it isn't an option, the 'contact iTunes Store support' link at the bottom of it.

How can we home share with more than 5 computers?? We are a family of 6 and each has his/her own computer.
You can't. But iDevices don't count. So you should be able to share the 5 computers.

Authorizing more than 5 computers - How to switch or edit authorization???
Hello,
Is it possible to switch authorizations for computers for iTunes? I'm trying to get music from one computer to another, but it tells me I already have 5 computers authorized...I'm not sure how that happened, as I have only authorized 3 computers to my knowledge. Is it possible to edit the authorization of computers?
Thanks
ChrisChris,
You cannot authorize more than 5 computers on one account.
So, the easiest thing to do may be to deauthorize all your computers and then add back only the ones you want.
This article provides all the details.

itunes only allows me to authorize five computers. but what if i've used more than five computers in my lifetime with my itunes account?
Well, what i was tyring to do was re-download my purchased items. and the message I get is....
You have already authorized five computers.
you can still make purchases on this computer, but you will need to transfer them to an authorized machine or device to play them. if you wish to play purchases on this computer, you will need to first deauthorize a currently authorized computer.
BUY or CANCEL.
the thing is...as i mentioned before, i already deauthorized all the other computers. so i don't get why it is making me buy it again. -
have 4 computers only, when iam going to authorize it showing you can't aurourize more than 5 computers ,
i done everything as per itunes, like deaurthorize,in my ac 7 every this in itubes help pageClick on iTunes Store (top center of iTunes screen), then Account (under MUSIC LINKS on right of screen). Enter your Apple ID and password. On the next screen the last entry under Apple ID Summary should look like this:
If you don't have access to some or all of your authorized computers you can click the Deauthorize All button, then reauthorize those that you're currently using. I don't recall there being a scenario where Deauthorize All would not appear based on the number of authorized systems. -
i just got a new mac. and its saying no more than 5 computers can be autherized i only know of 2 others what can i do ?
There isn't currently a way of seeing a list of which computers are authorised, but have you had other computers in the past and/or upgraded the OS on your computers without first deauthorising them ? Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but as you have multiple computers authorised then you can log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need.

HT1420 Authorizing More than Five Computers
Why can't use authorize more than five computers? It is driving me crazy!
Because that is the limit that Apple have decided on, if you want to know why then you'll need to try asking them (and iPads, iPhones and iPods aren't included in the 5 computer limit).

I am trying to rent a movie. After I put my Apple ID, it's telling me that I have more than 5 computers authorized in my Apple ID. Also, it's advising me to de-authorize some of these computers. How do I do that?
If you can't individually deauthorize any of them, use the Deauthorize All command documented in this article.

I have de-authrized all and reauthroized only 1 computer and this is still a problem... any ideas?
iPad and iPhones don't get authorised/deauthorised, only computers are. You mention deauthorising devices - do you mean that you've been into the 'manage devices' part of your account and removed them ? The 'manage devices' section is different to authorised computers : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627
IHave you had other computers in the past and/or updated the OS on computers without deauthorising them ? Individual computers can only be deauthorised directly on them, but as you have more than 2 computers authorised then you can log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and 'deauthorise all' (which you can do once every 12 months) and you can then authorise/reauthorise the computers that you still have and need - see that page that you posted from for more info.
