More than 50 MB sized applications are grayed out with status of "Waiting/Installing", when we update those apps from WiFi Connection?

Hi,
Few application updates are available in iOS App store. However, Those applications are grayed out with status of "Waiting/Installing", when we update those apps from WiFi Connection. It's happening only for more than 50 MB sized applications. Unable to install those application through WiFi, However, it's successfully installed through MacBook Pro iTunes application. Please suggest me, why this happening suddenly.
Thanks in Advance,
Suresh Balakrishnan.

- If I make the deployment required, it will install right away regarless of maintenance windows.  However, i don't want to use this option because if the user logs in to other machine (e.g. boardroom computer), it will auto install this software.
Re-check your deployment, specially the user experience:
If you've checked the box next to "Software installation", it will install after the deadline has passed and ignores maintenance windows. Change the deployment to required and uncheck that box and the software should be installed according to your
maintenance windows.

If there are multiple apps trying to download at once, only one can download at a time and the rest say "Waiting" until it is then their turn. Try this. Double tap the icon of the Waiting app, and it should resume the download.

Another thing to try - Turn the iPad Off & then back ON.
    If that doesn't work:
    •  Log out of your iTunes store account.  Go to Settings > Store > Sign Out Then press the Home button.
    • Then press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously and don't release them when it brings up the Turn Off screen; keep holding them until the Apple logo appears.
    • After restart, the Waiting should be gone.

    The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart... Reset... Restore from Backup...  Restore as New...
    Restart / Reset
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1430
    Backing up, Updating and Restoring
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you try all these steps and you still have issues...
Then a Visit to an Apple Store or AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) is the Next Step...
Be sure to make an appointment first...

    Try This...
Close All Open Apps... Sign Out of your Account... Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time...
Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... (But can take Longer..)
    Release the Buttons...
    If no joy...
    Reset all settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset all Settings.
This will return all iDevice settings to factory defaults... you will not lose any data.... But you will have to re-enter all of the device settings

  • I have duplicative song files in my library that are grayed out.  This seems to cause a syncing problem to my ipod or iphone.  How can I clean up this mess?

I chose to let iTunes rearrange my files and it appears to have duplicated them in my computer's drive.  So now I have the same folders/files directly under my D drive (second computer hard drive) and also in the iTunes Music Folder that iTunes created.  Wasn't sure what to do so I did another import and now I have files in my library that are grayed out with the small i symbol in the circle next to them.  I also have the working (bolded) files too.  How can I clean this up?

    Musicman05 wrote:
Is there a way to override the 256kbps "conversion" when uploading to iCloud?
No. All music that is mirrored in the cloud will be AAC@256 Kbps.
    Musicman05 wrote:
Along the same lines, if I "download" a song from my library to my iPhone, then plug my iPhone into my computer and sync the song file from my computer, will the higher quality original file overwrite the 256 one?
No, because with iTunes Match enabled on an iOS device traditional syncing of music via USB is disabled. All music management is done directly on the device.
    Musicman05 wrote:
Also, if I want to syncronize another computer using iTunes match, how can I get the higher quality audio files?  Will I simply have to transport all of them by an exernal hard drive or thumb drive?
You will first have to copy the high-quality audio files to the computer, add them to the iTunes library then enable iTunes Match.

  • Thumbnails  Grayed out with Question over them

I have several thumbnails that are grayed out with a white question mark over the thumbnail which indicates that it has "lost" the original photo. However, the photo is in the Finder/Pictures and the name has not been changed.
How do I get iPhoto to "find" the photo?
Must I re-import it to iPhoto?
Thanks for your help and suggestions.

Are you sure it's a "?" instead of an "!" ? In any case try the three fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select all options.
    Fix #2
Rebuild the library using iPhoto Library Manager as follows:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 -Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 -Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be untouched for further attempts at fixing or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
    Fix #3
Start over with a new library and import the Originals folder from your original library as follows:
Creating a new library while preserving the Events from the original library.
    1. Move the existing library folder to the desktop.
    2. Open the library package like this.
    3. Launch iPhoto and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
    4. Drag the Originals folder from the iPhoto Library on the desktop into the open iPhoto window.
This will create a new library with the same Events as the original library if you have the Finder checkbox unchecked in the Events preference pane.

  • All options in iWeb are grayed out!

This might be a stupid noob question, but when I first launch iWeb, it gave me a bunch of options to choose different templates and create on my own page. Now when launch iWeb, all the options are pretty much grayed out. The only option to choose from under "File" is "Close". Just about all the other options under the other menus are grayed out as well. Any help would be appreciated.
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

The only thing that I have heard other people try that has worked more times than on chance alone is to delete the iWeb application and then reinstall iWeb 1.0 from your iLife or recovery disks. Then update to 1.1.1 via Software Update.

  • Unable to sync Applications-tab grayed out

I downloaded a number of Apps from the App Store early this afternoon using iTunes and couldn't get them to sync with my new 3G iPhone. All the choices on the "Applications" tab are grayed out (although I can see the list of apps I downloaded in the window. They're just grayed out and unchecked). I restarted my iPhone and restored from backup and then they loaded. However, just downloaded 10-12 more Apps and the exact same thing is happening. Can anyone help me out? I don't want to have to reset/restart every time I want to load an app. Thanks...

This thread had the answer that worked for me:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1599782
I had enabled restrictions on an iPhone the kids use. I MAY have enabled the restriction that prevents application installation -- thinking it would limit use of the AppStore purchase on the phone.
I removed restrictions and I was able to sync. I'm not sure this is so much a bug as a usability issue.

  • How do I digitally sign with reader XI when the fill and sign functions are grayed out?

I am using Adobe Reader XI. I am suppose to digitally sign a fillable .pdf document for online submission. However, the fill and sign functions are grayed out.
What are my options to put a signature in the signature box of the document?
    Thank you in advance!

    Pat Willener,
    Thank you for replying.
Here is an image capture of the properties.
The document is part of a job application that is suppose to be digitally signed and submitted soon. I have thought about printing, signing, and redigitizing to submit, however, the cells are statically sized and do not expand to include all of the information when printed.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.

  • The To Do List Items in Mail are grayed out. I can't edit or mark them :(

As stated in the title, the To Do items in Mail are all grayed out, I can't edit or mark them complete anymore. In iCal, on the other hand, To Do items are working correctly. I just upgraded to Snow Leopard and the To Do items were working fine before, but are not now.

Sorry, I should have explained it more. I had 186 To Do items in the Mail To Do section that were working fine before I installed Snow Leopard (I was able to mark them complete or incomplete, rename, and edit them). After installing Snow Leopard, half of them are grayed out and half of them are working correctly. I am unable to mark the grayed out To Do items complete, or rename or edit them. The To Do items that are grayed out are random, like, it's not all of the complete ones, or all of the ones that are in a month or so.
    Here is a screenshot: http://img509.imageshack.us/img509/4743/screenshotgh.png
I know it's not the biggest deal, I just used to use Mail as my To Do thing If you know of a better app for the kinds of To Dos you see in the screenshot, let me know

Hey folks. Configuring my laptop to access a new airport express plugged in one floor below me. great signal connection works fine, but of course it isn't forwarding ports i want... so I go to set it up... now, the owner of the house set it up first, but he told me the password so I could futz with it... now when i pull up the base station config in airport admin, the relevant options are grayed out! The whole section in which default host option is located is grayed out, as are all the buttons e.g. 'add' on the forward ports tab! I've tried doing all the tricks I can think of; if anyone has any insight as to where to look to fix this, I'd appreciate it enorm.

Copy these commands into TextEdit, replace the bracketed part with your username and the quoted parts with the ext HD's name, retaining the quotes.
sudo chflags 0 /Volumes/"name of ext HD"
sudo chmod a+rx /Volumes/"name of ext HD"
Launch the Terminal app in /Applications/Utilities, copy and paste the first one into the window that pops up, and hit the return key. When the Password: prompt pops up, carefully type in your admin password, since nothing shows on the screen, and hit the return key. Copy & paste the other two, one at a time, following each with hitting the return key. You won't get the password prompt, since the initial one's good for five minutes.
Quit the Terminal app and you should be able to read and write to the ext HD.

  • All my songs are grayed- out in itunes

I got a new itouch. I used my cousin's itunes to sync songs and videos (since i was spending christmas/news years there) now that im home, i "erased and sync" and even restored it so i can sync with MY itunes. The problem is now that some of my songs are on my ipod, in itunes they are grayed-out (as in i cant click on it). Can anyone tell me why and how i can fix it? Do i have to restore my ipod as new or something?

H Again: OK, new things to try. I see you are on Windows, so it may look a little different than what I see. With your iPod Touch (IPT) connected, click on the IPT name in the left pane, you should now see several tabs, click the "summary" tab, one of the options at he lower part of this pane is "Manually manage music and videos". Now click on the "music" in the left pane, under your IPT. Are the songs accessible now? It did change on mine when I made this change.

  • All the files are grayed out in iTunes

My iPod died a few days ago and it was replaced (5G 30GB). I’ve connected the new one to iTunes on my computer (WinXP pro) and all the files seemed to transfer correctly to the new iPod. In iTunes, however, it you select the iPod on the left, all the files are grayed out and you can’t click on them. With my old iPod you could. I also noticed a little locked symbol down at the bottom to the right of where it shows you how much space is left on your iPod hard drive. I’m guessing that the new iPod drive is somehow locked. I can’t find anything in iTunes that controls this. Is there a way to unlock the iPod drive so you can click on the ipod files in iTunes?
    Asus P4C800   Windows XP Pro

Grey text when you look at the content and lock symbol at the bottom of the screen simply shows that your iPod is set to "automatically update songs and playlists". . If you want to access your iPod directly, play it through your iTunes, connect it to a second computer etc. you just need to change the update method to "Manually manage songs and Playlists" in the iPod preferences. For more detail see this tutorial: Managing Your Songs Manually
One thing to be aware of with manually updating is that the iPod also has to be manually ejected before the "Do Not Disconnect" message will go away. Safely disconnect iPod
    For info: iPod 101
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
    1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
    2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
    3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.
