More than 8 Aux channel strips?

I'm curious if anyone else is running into this. I', setting up a concert with lots of different guitar patches, and i can't seem to addess more than 8 aux sends. I'm not using more than one or two per patch, but I need more than 8 "aux effects" to exist in the concert. MS allows me to choose busses higher than 8, but no audio appears to flow through them to the newly created channel strips. Busses 1-8 work fine, but not anything higher than 8.
Any ideas??
Thanks!

I think you only get 8 per channel strip, but you can have up to 32 Aux channels.

  • Is there a way to have more than 2 aux channels?

I'm using ultra beat with multiple outputs and want to be able to break down the parts into different channels. At the moment I have it routed through two aux channels but I'm struggling from here on. I've done it before but don't remember how.
How does everybody else do it and can you create more than 2 aux channels?

Go into the environment window and create new audio objects. In the parameter settings for each audio object, you can assign them to new aux channels. Every time you assign a new aux channel, Logic will allocate more aux channels for you to use (up to 64).

  • Annoying instant aux channel strip question

    Howdy all,
Has anyone else been bugged by the following behavior in MS.
I'm working in a patch, and I have channel strip with verb and input bus 3. I also have a delay channel strip, and I decide to send the delay to the verb by instantiating a send to bus 3.
This works fine, except MS also makes an extra aux channel strip at the concert level with input bus 3. This serves no purpose, and I have to move the to concert level to delete this unwanted channel strip.
Am I missing something here, or is this just way it is?
    Thanks for anyones input.

  • Basic Q, Routing all the audio tracks to a bus or aux channel strip ?

I'm a little confused on this issue.
I've been doing separate tracks for the sax solos and vocals using the best parts of several tracks with automation. I've been adding the same effect in each track separately and I know this is not good. I'd like to send all the sax tracks to an aux. strip with an effect and all the vocal tracks to another strip with a different effect but I'm just a little confused about it. I see in the Mixer you can add AUX channels but I'm not sure whether to use stereo or mono for this situation ? It seems like I should use stereo because many effects are stereo.

Ok, select all your vocal tracks in your mixer->channels strips turn grey->now in the third box above the Channelstrip fader select the output to be e.g. Bus 1->Logic will automatically route Bus 1 to Aux 1 if you haven't created Busses in your environment before->insert your fx into the Aux->select all your Sax tracks->route them to Bus 2->insert your fx->done
I guess you shift select from the arrange window for multiple selections in the mixer but I just did them one at a time.
In this situation there appears to be no need to use the add AUX button. In the lower of the two I/O slots I selected Bus1 for the Sax and a new Aux1 track was created. For the Vocal I selected Bus2 and a new Aux2 was created.
---Thank you Sampleconstruct . I'm still in the dark but this was a huge help.

  • Is there more than one way to strip clean a HD before reloading OSX 10.6.8 operating system

I've had my MacBook's HD emptied and OSX reinstalled twice now in a few weeks by a Mac "reseller" there is no one in the store that has a full knowledge`of mac's they have the orange herd drive that i've seen in Mac shop's, they have the opperating systems to load.
both times it's taken only a few moments to "empty" the hole hard drive, it takes longer to empty 10 items in finder  / Secure Impty Trash than empty the HD
the last reinstall i saw that there 22GB used on the HD there must be things getting stuck in the HD some how and becoming part of the reinstall.
Can anybody tell me, so i can tell them ( in the store )  how to go about getting a clean HD ready to reinnstall  OSX 10.6.8 with out the things that must be hidden so they become part of the new install

is it possoble that some files are making it to the "new" HD
No. The computer can no longer see the files once the Directory has been erased. The only way to access them is from a data recovery method which involves scanning the entire disk and listing these files by examining them - an extremely slow process. I can't say wht you are having the issues you are, but the erase method isn't likely to be the cause - though if you are concerned you could follow the method I gave above for doing a fuller erase, just to satisfy your mind. It may be that the disk itself is beginning to fail. You could download SMART Reporter which can look for possible indications of impeding failure:
    Older free version: http://www.corecode.at/smartreporter_lite/index.html
Or £2.99 in the Mac App Store for the current version:

  • Record more than 2 audio channels whil capturing?

Is there a way to capture video and 4 audio sources via firewire all at once? I am using a Motu Traveler and Final Cut 4 for this project. I've seen somewhere that there are 4 channels of audio when capturing DV and it seems that I am able to capture audio inputs 1&2 or 3&4 but not both.
If I can't do it with the items I have suggested , is there another way?

You need to ask this question on the FInal Cut Pro forum.

  • How to configure more than MIDI 16 channels in Logic Express?

The template song in logic only has 16 MIDI chennels.
But it is not enough for my usage. I have 10 MIDI out port in total.(8 on Motif by USB, 1 on audio interface, 1 on MIDI controller)
How can I use all these ports to expend my creation?
    Thanks~

    Hello srm2003,
    (1) Build your NI MAX task for your device - picture 6259-01.png.
    (2) DASYLab: Take a first NI-DAQmx Analog Input module, choose the MAX task and configure the channels 0...15 from device to 0...15 from module - picture 6259-02.png.
    (3) DASYLab: Take a second NI-DAQmx Analog Input module, choose the MAX task and configure the channels 16...31 from device to 0...15 from module - picture 6259-03.png.
    (4) Now you have 2 AI modules to handle the channels 0...15 (first) and 16...31 (second).
    Best regards

  • Recording more than 2 tracks?

I bought Logic Express 8 and an M-Audio Fast Track Ultra interface to record keyboard, vocal and guitar. The Fast Track Ultra is a 4 channel USB interface.
I just tried to record the keyboard in stereo, and a vocal track at the same time. The problem is, I don't seem to be able to record into more than two input channels at one time, and the stereo keyboard is taking up both. Does Logic Express 8 have more than 2 inputs? The salesman at Sam Ash told me I could do this, but I can't find a way to create more than two input channels - which will totally negate the point of having a 4 channel interface.
    Help! I'm VERY frustrated.
    thanks

    Hi,
I'm not an expert on audio interfaces, but you should check a couple of things:
    - go to ...Applications:Utilities:Audio/Midi Configuration and set you interface as the standard audio input and output
    - in Logic, go to Preferences > Audio, and choose your interface under Devices > Core Audio > Device (see the picture on page 99 of Help > Logic Express 8 User Manual)
    - Choose the appropriate inputs in your Audio Tracks by clicking-holding on the Input Select button of your Channel Strip (see the picture on page 216 of the manual; it's the button that says "Input 1-2"). You should have more choice than just 1-2 there...

  • How do i use a Aux channel with reverb from two different patches

I have a Concert with an Aux channel strip for Reverb and i want two seperate patches to both use Send 1 with different amounts/level of reverb but when i move the fader on the patch and then go to the other patch the fader has moved back to the down position
    Hope this makes sense
P.S i know i can do it with two separate buses but want to keep it tidy
    Thanks

1: select an instrument channel, go the parameter of the channel then change the midi channel to "ALL"
2: insert the Multitimbral sampler of your choice ( RMX, hypersonic or what ever) and load the sounds you want onto them
3: open environment, in the environment parameter it shows AUDIO click hold it and select ALL OBJECT, then go to view and untick "BY TEXT"
4: connect the GM DEVICE to the channel that has the Multitimbral Sampler on it'll ask Do you want to remove the channels port setting? click remove
    thats it
Now go to the arrange window and you can use all the 16 midi channels to control one Multitimbral Sampler
that means midi channel 1 will control what ever sound is loaded in the first slot on the Multitimbral Sampler
lemme know if there was a mistake along the line, i'm a bit tired gotta help out

  • Tuner on the aux channel turns on -- No Sound

Hey There. Science I use Mainstage 2.2 the tuner on the aux channel turns on sometimes, when I change a patch. So there is no sound anymore and I have to turn on and off the tuner to have some sound again. How can I put the tuner away from the aux channel to avoid the problem of turning the tuner of a patch all the time on an off, before there is a sound from the aux channel strip?
Greets and thanks for the answers!

So I figured out a quick fix by putting a direction mixer/mono to stereo plug in last in the channel strip would fix it. That being said, having the ability to pan aux channels independently from the main output would be ideal.  Does anybody know how to do this?

  • Pan not working in aux channel

I have done this many times, but suddenly it's not working!
Created a new Aux channel strip  - stereo, input = bus 8, output = stereo.
Output of two vocal tracks to the aux. When I try to pan the vocal tracks in their own tracks to seperate them, they don't pan, they stay centered. It's working fine in my overheads aux, exact same settings? Is this a bug? What am I missing? (yes the aux track is set to stereo, I keep clicking it on and off like it will make a difference "this" time!)
    thanks.

David here this always works a 100%:
Insert TestOsc on an empty mono/stereo Track choose Sends -> Postpan -> send to AuxBus and then pan appropriate
    or
On a mono/stereo Track output choose an AuxBus and pan the signal
    Good luck!

  • More than one sender with only one comunication channel

    Hi experts.
I need to know that it is possible to make a one File FTP sender comunication channel with more than one host.
If that is not possible, how could get that functionality?
    Thanks!
    Regards.

    Hi Alvaro,
It is not a bad idea to do a report to search in the two locations, make a job for polling and later the report call  via http or SOAP to PI itself (if you need to do any map or you need file content conversion) or not to use in PI scenario (neither http or SOAP call) if you only need to move files. I only see the next disadventages:
    1. It is not a standard solution. This could be problematic in a SP uppgrade or PI version change.
    2. If one day your client thinks to migrate to the PI java-only version, you would need to do again this scenario.
    3. If you haven't any scenario in PI or a good documentation system, this interface can be forgotten for you or by future PI technician.
    4. You lose the powerful of the monitoring tools.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards.

  • Error using pretrigger when capturing more than one channel

I am having problems acquiring data with pretrigger samples when capturing more than one channel, using NI-PXI-6071E hardware and Labview's Analog Input VIs (Legacy NI-DAQ).
My goal is to trigger on one signal, while capturing another. Unfortunately, I cannot use the PFI0 for external triggering, as our cables/hardware have already been built, so I must use an analog input channel as the trigger. I understand that to do so I must capture both channels, and the channel that I wish to trigger off of must be the first channel in the list.
If I trigger and capture on the same channel (tried 1-4) then it
works great, regardless of the number of pre-trigger samples set. If I
capture more than one channel (passing the trigger channel first), with no pretrigger samples set, then triggering and capturing both work fine. However, if I do the same with the pretrigger sample > 0 I get the following error:
Error -10621 occurred at AI Control. Possible reason(s):
NI-DAQ LV: The specified trigger signal cannot be assigned to the trigger resource.
I don't se any such limitation explained in the user manual, and searching the forum, I have found a few other people that had the
    same
    problem
but they did not have solutions. Any ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I'm sorry for double-posting this. I was trying to post it in the DAQ board and it kept ending up on the LabView board.

  • Saved user patch not saving aux send channel strip settings?

    Hi all,
I was reading the 'Using and saving patches" article in the manual and came across this quote:
"patches also save any aux channel sends that are needed to reproduce the complete patch,"
I was extremely excited and tried to create my own patch. My User Patch saves, and the aux send amounts are in the main channel strip, but the actual bus channel strips are not created.
I noticed that other logic patches actually create the bus strips with their predefined settings when you load them, but I can't seem to get my user patches to do this. Am I missing a step when I save my patch?
    Thanks in advance!
    Robert
    P.S. - if it's useful, I am using Logic 10.0.7 on OSX 10.8.5 on a mid-2012 15" MBP Retina

Just thought I might bump this topic since I have the same problem.  Any suggestions on a solution would be greatly appreciated!
    Tedd
