More than one inventory on cluster nodes?

Hello,
I have installed OracleDB EE 10gR2 in CFC, two nodes with RH and Serviceguard. DB 'binaries' are installed on local storage (both nodes) and datafiles on shared storage.
oraInventory is at local storage...
Now I have to deploy OracleAS Infrastructure in CFC, it will be active in the 'DB stand-by' node...
But I has to be done on shared storage...
Is it possible to have two oraInventory on each node? One at local storage and the other one at shared storage?
Thansk in advance

Following the Oracle Application Server Installation Guide for Linux x86 (10gR2)... if I want to install OracleAS Infrastructure in Cold Failover Cluster, it has to be installed only from one of the two nodes of the cluster... but it has to be installed onto shared storage.
When the OracleAS Infrastructure switched to the other node, it will mount the shared storage and execute the OracleAS Infrastructure...
So, I right now I have an oraInventory at local storage on both nodes (then one created when OracleDB was installed), I won't be able to set the oraInventory of OracleAS on the shared storage... unless I do what you advised me...
Will try it and tell you if it works.
Thanks for your help. Best regards.

  • Can I change which nic is used for a cluster network when more than one nic on the node is on same subnet?

This cluster has been up and working for maybe a year and a half the way it is.  There are two nodes, running Server 2012.  In addition to a couple network interfaces devoted to VM traffic each node has:
    Management Interface: 192.168.1.0/24
    iSCSI Interface: 192.168.1.0/24
    Internal Cluster Interface: 192.168.99.0/24
The iSCSI interfaces have to be on same subnet as management interfaces due to limitations in the shared storage.  Basically if I segregate it I wouldn't be able access the shared storage itself for any kind of management or maintenance tasks.
I have restricted the iSCSI traffic to only use the one interface on each cluster node but I noticed that one of the cluster networks is connecting the management interface on one cluster node member with the iSCSI interface on the other cluster node member.
I would like for the cluster network to be using the management interface on both cluster node members so as not to interfere with iSCSI traffic.  Can I change this?
Binding order of interfaces is the same on both boxes but maybe I did that after I created the cluster, not sure.

    Hi MnM Show,
Tim is correct, if you are using ISCSI Storage and using the network to get to it, it is recommended that the iSCSI Storage fabric have a dedicated and isolated network. This
network should be disabled for Cluster communications so that the network is dedicated to only storage related traffic.
This prevents intra-cluster communication as well as CSV traffic from flowing over same network. During the creation of the Cluster, ISCSI traffic will be detected and the network
will be disabled from Cluster use. This network should set to lowest in the binding order.

  • More than one vip by node

    Hi rac gurus,
i have 2 nodes cluster with classicaly one vip by node. In the futur, i will add 2 nodes to my RAC.
My question is: can i have 2 vip's by node in prevision of the futur (the objective is to simplify all modifications (network, firewall, etc...)
    thank's by advance.

    BlueR,
although it is not straight forward way, it is possible to have clusterware manage more than one VIP per node. The second VIP will not be directly associated with first VIP (VIP you used while installing the RAC).
The easiest way I can think of is using clusterware's "Scripting interface."
Imagine a "do nothing" application (that supposedly uses the additional VIP). The idea is to have the clusterware to failover our do-nothing application that uses the additional VIP to some other node in the cluster
-Create an "application VIP profile" and register it with the clusterware
-Create the "action script" (that can be used to query, start and stop your simple application. Start/Stop is literally no action, just echo $* /dev/null...........Query should be used to to check the status of original/first VIP and return OK/FAILED based on the first VIP is still on current node or some other node............you can elaborate this logic)
-Create an application profile and register it with the clusterware
PS: Obviously I did not implement this and I don't recommend it on any production system. For that matter, I try not to implement any new ideas I get at 3am..........especially after a long day ;)
    Cheers!

  • How to display(binding) values in the table from more than one node?

    Hi,
I have two nodes (TRIPS & AMOUNTS)in the context. How to bind these values into the table control?
When i bind second one, first one is getting replaced.

    Hi Mog,
Of course it is possible to create a table from attributes of more than one node, and in some cases this is still necessary, but you have to do this the hard (manual) way.
If you have a table control, have a look at the properties and the elements belonging to it.
First of all, there is the property "dataSource", which binds to a multiple node (let's name it TableRootNode). This means that for each element of THIS node, one row is created. In each row the data of exactly one element of this TableRootNode is displayed.
Then you have columns in this table. Inside of the columns there is a header and an editor. The editor is the interesting part.
Normally the primary property of this editor is bound to an attribute of the TableRootNode. Then everything works as expected. If it binds to an attribute of a subnode (SUB) of TableRootNode, then in row i the data of the subnode of the i-th element of TableRootNode is displayed. There is no need for SUB to be a multiple node, but it must not be a singleton.
If you bind a property of the editor to an attribute, which does not lie in the subtree of TableRootNode, then you will see the same value in each row.
Now it depends on the structure of your context. Take the node, which is relevant for the change in each row (I assume it is TRIPS) and bind the table to the node as you are used to. Then for each additional column, you have to create a new column in the tree, create a new header element with a title and a new editor (e.g. textview or inputfield) and then bind the right property of the editor to the corresponding attribute in node AMOUNTS).
If these 2 nodes do not have parent-child-relationship, the tip to create a new node, which consists of the attributes of both nodes is the only solution.
    Ciao, Regina

  • Deploying more than one webapplication on single cluster

    Hello Folks,
Is there a way to deploy more than one webapplication on single cluster of weblogic. Presently, we are getting an error while deploying second webapplication as
“Context path is already in use by the module: First Application Name”.
Awaiting reply, ...Thanks in Advance :)
    Amit

    Hi,
Yes, We can. For Instance . Your weblogic cluster consist of two managed servers. Each managed server different port number.
    managedserver1: http://localhost:7003
    managedserver2: http://localhost:7005
so your webapplication context name is same all managed servers.
http://localhost:7003/context,http://localhost:7005/context. you should select running weblogic cluster on jdeveloper ide when you deploying webapplication to server then the webapplication deployed all managed server.

  • Filtering more than one node with the command SAPBEXFilterValue

    Hello everybody,
i have an issue with the
Function SAPBEXsetFilterValue(intValue As String, Optional hierValue As String, Optional atCell As Range) As Integer
Filtering with cell atCell (if this parameter is missing, then the active cell is taken as the basis)
The internal filter value must be entered in the parameter intValue. Please note that this value can be displayed differently from the external value displayed in the filter cell. You can either use SAPBEXgetFilterValue or carry out the filter process once manually with the log book function switched on in order to determine the internal value for a known external value. The internal filter value is noted in the log.
Enter the parameter hierValue when dealing with a node of a certain characteristic hierarchy with the filter value.
"intValue = <blank>" means "do not filter anymore"
If no connection to a BW server exists the function starts a logon dialog.
The function produces a context error if atCell is not a filter cell.
    My problem:
i would like to select inner nodes. With one node it is not a problem. I have just to use the technical name for the inner node as intValue. But I would like to select more than one node. I would like to filter 4 inner nodes with the SETBEXgetfilter command but it does not work.
i tried also to set them iteratively but when the second filtervalue is selected the first will be overwritten.
If i select more than one navigation panes to filter the nodes differently on a seperate navigation pane it also does not work because all navigation panes are connected and show the same.
Does anybody know how to filter more than one node in the same hierarchy. manually it works. So there should be a way to do that with VBA.
Thank you in Advance and kind regards,
    Murat

  • Can I run more than one Node Manager per machine?

    Hia,
We have a situation in our project where we need to run different domains on a Solaris machine in different java modes.
Say Domain1 should be running in 32bit version of java where as Domain2 should be running in 64bit mode due to the nature of testing currently going on in different domains.
We could successfully get the two domains running in different java modes in parallel by modifying the start scripts to decide which Sud data model to start the servers based on certain parms. However, the pain here is with the Node Manager.
My understanding is that there should be one Node Manager running per machine for all the domains running on that machine. So when ever I have to run a domain in a java mode different to that of what Node Manager is running on, I had to kill the node manager and start it in the same version that I want to start the other servers in since Node Manager uses its starting parms internally to start the Managed Servers (Note: there is no issue in running the Admin Server regardless of the node manager mode as expected).
Can somebody advise me if there is any way to get around this hassle?
I want to know if we can run more than one node manager per machine.
Below are the details of my env.
    Weblogic Server 10.3
    Solaris 10 SPARC 64 bit (SunOS 5.10 Generic_142900-14 sun4v sparc)
    java version "1.6.0_20"
    Hope all this makes sense...
    Cheers,
    Satish.

You can run as many node manager as you want in a particular machine.
At the time of starting the node manager you need to pass hostname & Port.
This will start the nodemanager on different ports of a machine.
    sh startNodeManager.sh <hostname> <port>
    eg:- sh startNodeManager.sh dev_machine_01 5556
    sh startNodeManager.sh dev_machine_01 5557
    sh startNodeManager.sh dev_machine_01 5558
After starting your node manager in different ports you need to change machine details from admin console.

  • CRS Install hostname being used by more than once for the same node.

Hi, we're installing The Oracle Clusterware and on the Cluster Configuration screen of the universal Installer (the one were you specify the clustername and clusternodes) we get the following error message in a dialog box when the next button is clicked:
"You must enter unique values for the public node name, the private node name and the virtual hostname for all nodes in the cluster. The name, node1, that you entered is being used by more than once for the same node."
Has anyone experienced this error message before and know what the cause is?
Could it be a problem with the /etc/hosts file?
    Thanks in advance,
    M

Make sure you allocate separate IP addresses on your network for the VIP addresses on each RAC node (this is not the same as the machine IP already configured on the OS).
Also, the installer may complain if your private and public IPs are configured under the same subnet.
Finally, as mentioned before, check that name resolution for all the IPs to be used. On all RAC nodes, your /etc/hosts file should be configured with:
    - public name and IP addresses of ALL nodes
    - private name and IP addresses of ALL nodes
    - VIP name and IP addresses of ALL nodes
    Hope that helps
    B.

  • Can not import excel spreadsheet with more than one spreadsheet from an email

i get excel files sent to me all the time by email and have been able to open most of them.  Went to a apple store and was told i needed to install numbers app on my iphone 4 to open them up because their was more than likely two or more work sheets in that file. i am on the road and can't get to my imac.  I bought numbers did all the updates on the iphone and sync to itunes.  it still cant open the spreadsheets if they have more than one work sheet. it does ask do you want to open in numbers i answer the question it starts the import then get error message spreadsheet couldn't be imported.  the file format is invalid.
this is frustrating to by an app that was suggested by apple for the solution and it doesn't work.
by the way i have excel on the macbook pro and imac so that is not an issue need to be able to see on the phone while traveling.
by the way it says microsoft excel 97-2004 worksheet 16 kb open in "numbers"
    Any suggestions

    Hi Caroline
you should be able to apply the exact same principles to your multi query report. The XML will have a main root node and then the results of the queries underneath.
So if you had 3 queries you'd get something like
    <REPORTNAME>
    <G_FIRST_QUERY>
    </G_FIRST_QUERY>
    <G_SECOND_QUERY>
    <G_SECOND_QUERY>
    <G_THIRD_QUERY>
    <G_THIRD_QUERY>
    </REPORTNAME>
In the template you will be able to map on to the separate sections of the XML very easily.

  • Can i Bind more than one Model object to the Custom controller or not

Hi All, I trying to bind more than one model object to the custom controller, Both the model objects contains same attribute name called ( output). Both model objects created on to top of the BAPI. So when i bind first model object to the custom controller will work fine. When i am trying to bind the second model object to the same controller. This second model object also having the same attribute name called "output" . So it is giving an error of "Duplicate context element "Detail". Rename or uncheck duplicate elements.
can i assign more than one model object to the single controller or not?
But in the reference document, it has given that , we can create model object with more than one bapi.So in this case if both the bapis contains any element with the same name will also be problem. Any body give me the solution.
Initially we have created one custom controller for each model object. But later i realized that, why con't we use same controller for all the model object. Because, the custom controller context is the public context. this context shared across all the view controllers.
The concept which I am trying to do is right or wrong?

    Hi Vishal,
of course, you can bind one controler to many models. When the same name occours you can simply RENAME binded node in controler.

For example if i have 3 signal i use · DMA FIFO but whe i want to wath them in a waveform chart the signals have a delay.
How can I do to send more than one signal to DMA FIFO? and if that's no posible, How i can do for syncronizate the 3 signals?

Not quite.  You need to use the Integer To Fixed Point Cast to change from the integers to your FXP numbers.  You can then build them into a cluster to write to the Waveform Chart.

    Hi,
When a client accesses MBeans of more than one domains (Weblogic 8.1)
    that have
different passwords, it receives a SecurityException. This occurs when
    the MBeanHome
for each domain is looked up at initialization and reused for each
    request ( to
access MBeans ). The security exception does not occur if the MBeanHome
    for each
domain is looked up for each request. On initial review, this behavoir
    seems inconsistent.
Looking up the MBeanHome for each request may introduce a significant
    overhead.
I am not sure if concurrent lookups would also cause the same problem.
I have read on another post that we can work around this problem by
    establishing
a trust relationship between the servers, but this may not be feasible
    when one
is monitoring a lot of servers and the overhead of configuration may be
    an issue.
I have attached code that can reproduce the problem.
Please advise on the correct approach.
