More than one iphone

I have an itouch 2nd gen. I have purchased the new iphone 4. Do i need another itunes account on my computer? Also, how would I transfer my itouch apps to my new iphone?

Do i need another itunes account on my computer?
No.
There is no device limit for the number of iPods, iPhones, and iPads that can be synced with the same iTunes library with the same iTunes account on the same computer.
Also, how would I transfer my itouch apps to my new iphone?
All your iPod Touch apps on your iPod Touch should be available in your iTunes library on your computer. Under the Apps tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, select the apps that you want installed on your iPhone followed by a sync, which is the same for your iTunes music, movies, TV shows, podcasts, and any photos on your computer that you want available on your iPhone for viewing.

I have one MacBook pro, already have my iPhone synced to it. I want to sync my wife's to it as well so she can share my iTunes library.
    Is this possible?

Create a new user login (with a password) for your stuff.
This way, your data won't get mixed up.

  • TS4123 This is not correct solution. I have fresh copy of Windows 7 64 bit and I have the same problem.  Autorun only shows the Bonjour service.  It started when try to sync more than one iphone.

This is not correct solution. I have fresh/new copy of Windows 7 64 bit and I have the same problem.
Autorun only shows the Apple Bonjour service.  It started when try to sync more than one iphone over WiFi. I have two iphones and an iPad. I turned off syncing over WiFi and still has high CPU utilization. One of the CPU's is pegged at 100%.  It is the AppleMobileDeviceService.exe process.

For the record, I then followed the suggestion of MarcDCMB in https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4291206 of just manually restarting the Apple Mobile Device service in Windows services.msc once each time after starting iTunes and the service no longer hogs CPU after that service restart.  Not too painful as a work-around, and apparently an effective one, but clearly not a solution to the problem.  Again, as above, all the other solutions didn't work for me and I have no conflicting software as far as I can tell. So you'd have to say this Apple's problem.
Also FTR, I am still on the 5.2.0.6 version of the Apple Mobile Device Support MSI and I don't know if that is relevant to this work-around working but my sense is that it is NOT relevant.  I'll report back on this thread if I re-upgrade and the problem returns in spite of the service-restart approach.

Just plug in the second iPhone like you did the first and tell it what to sync to and you'll be good to go (just make sure the second iPhone is named something different than the first!)

  • How to sync up more than one iphone/ipod to a PC

I'm frustrated because i've run into a problem and its really cumbersome to fix.
i have several ipods and me and my girl both have iphones (5 ipods and 2 iphones).
    we have one PC.
when i sync up my ipod, i can xfer music and videos to it w/o problems but if i connect her ipod it wont allow me to xfer music to it. i can dock it and see it but simply gives me the black cirle with a slash thru it, denies me adding playlists to it.
same with iphone. i literally need 1 PC per ipod/iphone in order to sync up the music and movies we want on them.
how does one copy over their music onto various ipods if you only have one PC. all our music is stored ont he PC. to fix i would need to create a virtual OS, then copy over all my music onto it to sync up but i find it hard to believe that apple did not think of this?
the expected result while using itunes...is to be able to sync up any ipod or iphone to itunes, and be able to copy over any playlist or movie.
i have bought all my dvds and cds and ripped them, whay am i not allowed to place them on more than one ipod or iphone?

thanks for those tips. i looked at those links. they are helpful but i dont need to create user profiles nor link to other music libraries.
why it fails...when i dock a 2nd iphone it sees data on it....the expected or desired result is, it just leaves data there but allows me to add more. this is the part i cant get past.
i did try making a new user account and multiple libraries, but still same problem.
my ultimate desire is to be able to connect more than one iphone to same PC and xfer data to it and also take the iphone to another PC. so the idea is to move my iphone from work and home and have it sync up with data thats on each one.
the auto sync and auto start when i dock iphone is disabled.
but when i sync up it somehow senses this iphone docks at another PC and does not recognize the media on it as being on this PC.
i deally i dont want to clutter each PC with the same data. i'd like to just keep the music and movies on the iphone and merely add from different PCs. meaning if i dock it at work, it wont have the same music or movies on it. basically i dont want to add redudant files to it that are already on my home PC, i just wish to add music from my work pc to it.
sometimes my wife comes to my workplace and notices i ripped a new album, she wants to dock her iphone and xfer it over, but itunes wont allow it, popping up a message saying she has to wipe it in order to sync up with.
i'm not sure why the ipods wont allow me to sync up music, it sees the device and shows playlists but if i try to add a playlist i get a little black icon stating its denied. i'm not worried about ipd right now. its the iphone i'm trying to figure out, how to get past this problem.
originally it started with one PC to do everything but since we could not we decided to start using our work computers. and now that we sync up to them we cant freely sync up to home PCs now, hence the frustration.
i'm trying to figure out how to use iphones between multiple PCs, single PC. it all seems so complicated yet all we want to do is simply dock, and xfer over data (all PCs are disable auto sync), we jsut want to specifically sync up only particular playlists, movies, wallpapers.
for contacts we gave up on outlook as we get some itunes outlook error about a service failing so we do it via yahoo.
we export out outlook contacts to yahoo and simply use yahoo to merge contacts.

Can I list more than one IPhone in the Find My Phone App on the iPad or Mac?

Of course. You can add to Find my iPhone all your iPhones, iPods touch, iPads and Macs. You just have to turn on Find my iPhone on your devices.
To turn on Find my iPhone on a iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, open Settings > iCloud, and turn on "Find my iPhone". To turn on Find my Mac on a Mac, open System Preferences > iCloud, and mark "Find my Mac"

  • More than One iPhone on a apple account

my dad my brother and i all are thinking about getting iPhones and i was wondering if it was possible to put more than one iPhone on a Apple account.

You're still not making yourself clear. I am going to guess at what you mean and you can correct me if I am wrong. Let's say you have X amount of iPhones. Are you wondering if you can use them all on the same iTunes account on one computer? In other words, can you download whatever from the iTunes Store and put them on all the phones? Good question...I would say it's possible, but I can't think of any way to do it? Anyone? Bueller?

  • TS1474 Can more than one iPhone be synced to the same computer?

Can you use the same computer to sync more than one iPhone?

Most definitely more than 1  device can be used on the same computer.
Now the only thing you'll have to worry about is if you use different AppleIDs and if the other users decide to sync contacts.
What would be reccomended to keep all of your data seperate would be to create Seperate Windows User accounts or Different Logins on a Mac.
These are logins for the computer specifically not AppleIDs
If have questions on how to do that post what OS you are running, Mas OSX 10.6 10.7, Win XP Win Vista Win7
