More WAD qns

Hi
I'd asked this qn a few days back about selecting only required text elements out of the whole list, for display on web reports. I followed the link Bhanu had sent and tried to select text elements. But I'm not able to get the text elements on the report.
I dragged and dropped Text elements, and clicked on the Web Items tab. I selected the "List of Text elements" box. I got a screen that says Element type and Element ID.
I typed in the text elements I want (Last refreshed and Status of Data). Not sure what the Element Type should be. But when I run the report, I see the Text elements heading, but nothing under it.
Any idea on how to select two of out the many text elements? The other selection I have checked is "Display general text elements".
Also, is there a way to change the description of the text element? For example, the users want Status of data to say "Load date" and Last refreshed to say "Run date".
Lastly, I’m trying to show three different queries in the same URL (one below the other).
I’m dragging in three Tables and selecting different queries for each. But when I run the report, it shows me three report outputs on the same page, of only the first query (3 identical reports). How do I get it to show three different outputs on the same page?
Help would greatly be appreciated!
Thanks !
Pooja.

Hi Pooja,
Did you create a new data provider for each of these table web items? You dragged three tables to your web template and assigned queries for each of them, right?
The problem is that you didn't create seperate data providers for each of these tables. So same query was assigned to all the three tables.
<b>Solution</b>
Drag the first table web item to your template.
Assign the Query 1 to the table.
Drag the second table to your web template. You can see that Query 1 is assigned to the data provider by default. So you've to create a new data provider to assign a new query. Otherwise your first settings will be replaced by this.
In the Properties -> General tab -> Name (Above the Query/Query View), Click on the Create New Data Provider button(Data Provider 2 by default. You can change the name if you want).
Assign the second query to this data provider.
Drag the table web item again. Create a new data provider (Data Provider 3).
Assign the third query to this data Provider.
Save and execute the web template.
Hope this helps.

Hari

  • Variable pop-up using Button Group in WAD

    Hi experts,
I've created a button group in WAD to execute a 'Copy' function developed in IP.
This copy function has the following variables:
    Order From:
    Order To:
    Version From:
    Version To:
This button group was created as it should referencing my copy function, with a dataprovider of type filter, and under 'Behavior' I have flagged the ' Display variable screen' field.
So when I click on this button, it should give me a pop-up screen for me to enter those variable values.
The problem is, it's not giving me this pop-up screen. Does anyone know why? Or if I've missed something.
    thanks

    Hi Maykan,
I will give that a try, and let you know how it worked out.
By the way, are you aware of any 'WAD' specific documentation that provied details and more WAD capabilities?

  • How to insert more items for each tab in WAD  7.0

    Hello to everyone,
My problem is confined to the WAD 7.0
I would like to insert 4 different queries into a new Web Template.
Two of them have to stay in one page and the others in one page each; therefore, the result would be a Web Template with three tabs.
Unfortunately the system creates automatically four different tabs with one query each.
Anybody knows how to insert more items in one page/tab?
    Thank you very much
    Savino Pompa

    Hi Savino
In the WAD bring up the properites of the tabstrip_container web item, under the Internal Display group in the Tab Panel List, create 3 tabs, then drag 3 contatiner_layout web items into the tab web item.
In each conatiner item drag the analysis web item, 2 in the first container, then 1 each for the others, then point each analysis web item at a dataprovider(query).
Setup the contatiners so that the analysis items displays, to do this in the container properties create a row then on the following screen a column and then set the Subordinate web item to the analysis item, these web items control layout and are useful for dealing with multiple web items, for the first tab with 2 queries you will need to play with the layout, either 1 row 2 column or 2 row 1 column.
For each tab you created add the corresponding contatiner as the Subordinate Web Item in the Tab Panel parameters for each tab.
    Hope this helps

    Hi,
Currently it is not possible to assign more than one item to a tab. But you can use a container item and place several items in this container item. Afterwards you assign the container to one tab.

  • WAD - Exclude more than one value with filter button

    Hi guys
I have been working on a web template with a button to set a filter to exclude two values. E.g. I want to exclude both the values '28' and '30' from the dataprovider.
What I have done is insert a button group item, create a button with the command SET_SELECTION_STATE_SIMPLE to exclude '28' as command 1 and SET_SELECTION_STATE_SIMPLE to exclude '30' as command 2. This does however not give me the correct result, as it only excludes '30' as set in command 2. So the conclusion must be that SET_SELECTION_STATE_SIMPLE can not be used, as it will only work with one value.
So I went on and tried with SET_SELECTION_STATE which gives the possibility to choose more than one filter value. However it does not seem possible to exclude values with this command?
Is it not possible to exclude two filter values with a button in a BI 7.x web template?
    BR
    Stefan.

    Dear Frank
I did it as like as the following link lead me:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe11jdev/11/adfbc_new_features/adfbc.html
The problem has been appeared when I attached the "Create" button and when press on it to create new record, then the "LOV" couldn't work correctly.
    Thanks for your reply

Ahhh, sorry for the confusion. What you need are "Collections". If you click the "Review Demonstration Applications" link then install the "Collections Showcase", this should give you a good working sample.
Collections are comprised of an HTMLDB_COLLECTIONS package and an associated table. Use the package for creating a collection and adding members (rows) and use the table to query what's in your collection.
Essentially, here's what you need to do. Let's assume your multi-row form is on page one and you have a confirmation page on page 2:
    - Create a process that fires on submit of page one that uses create_or_truncate to create your collection.
    - In the same process, loop over your collection items and add them (as members) to the collection.
    - Make sure your multi-row form queries from the collections view. This way if you go to page 2, then back to page 1, you will see your rows. When you go to page 2 again, you can just over-write the existing collection. There's another option, but I'll list that later.
    - Create a process on page 2 to loop over the collection view and insert the rows into a table. Make this conditional based on the button you press, such as "Save".
    - Extra credit: Either the collections package or the htmlb_utilities package as an md5 function. You can call this when querying the data out of the collections table, then call it again as you are looping over the data on submit. Basically, you are checksumming the row on the way out, then again when the page is submitted. If the 2 are equal, the data is unchanged. If they are not equal, the data has changed. Based on your needs, you can use this technique to insert / update records. I have an app that uses this technique because I have a before update trigger on the table that I only want to fire if the user actually updates a particular row.
    Hope this helps,
    Tyler

  • How to use one WAD template for all the available queries

    Hi,
I have created a WAD template... Now we have close to 25 queries which will use that template for displaying their output at Portal...
Is there any way that i don`t have to create multiple copies of my WAD template...
I.e. all queries would call that same template through portal...

    Hi,
The Bex report uses the Standard Template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN while it is executed.
So if your sure that the look and feel of all the Reports is going to remain same, you don't need to even attach all these Queries to Templates in WAD.
When you execute the BEx query, it would pick up the standard template and run it in portal.
But if you want to customize the Report Template:
    1) You can change this standard template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN  and customize it according to ur requrement in WAD.
    2) Or you can create a copy of this standard template and change it as required. Then change the template in spro (transaction RSCUSTV27) to point to this Z template.
Let me know if you need more details.

  • Hiding a column in WAD

I have a dropdown box for calendar year
Intitally when I run my webtemplate it should show me the values for all the years in the below format
    Industry  -
    Value2006  -
      Value2005
When I select from the dropdown value of the calendar year = 2006 then it should me only the values of 2006 & hide value of 2005 & when I select calendar year = 2005 then it should me only the values of 2005
Pls provide me the code for this in WAD 3.5
    Thanks
    SVR

    SVR,
Your web item Drop Down box is linked to the data provider that is display the results?
If it is, surely when you make a selection from the Drop Down box the dataproviders associated with it (there can be more than one) will change automatically.  You shouldn't need any additional code bar standard functionality?
Maybe I'm missing something in the query you are asking.

  • How to call the same query more than once with different selection criteria

    Hi,
Please do anybody know how to solve this issue? I need to call one query with the fixed structure more than once with different selection criteria. For example. I have following data
    Sales organization XX
                         Income 2008  Income 2009
    Customer A       10                 20
    Customer B        30                  0
    Sales organization YY
                         Income 2008  Income 2009
    Customer A        20                5
    Customer B        50                10
Now, I need this. At the selection screen of query, user fill variable  charakteristic "Sales organization" with interval  XX - YY, than I need to generate two separate results per sales organization, one for Sales Organization XX and the second for SO YYwhich will be displayed each on separate page, where result for SO YY will be dispayed under result for SO YY. Are there some options how to do it for example in Report Designer or WAD or with programming? In Report Designer is possible to use one query more than once, but I dont know how to force each query in RD to display result only for one Sales Organization, which will be defined in selection screen.
    Thank you very much
    J.

    Hello,
thanks to all for cooperation. Finally we solved this issue with the following way..
User fill appropriate SO on the selection screen, which is defined as range. This will resulte, that selected SO are listed in report below each othe (standard behavior). Required solution we achieved with the Report Designer, we set page break under each Result row of RD. This caused, that report is divided into required part per SO, which are stated each on separate page.

  • Error in Wad

    hi all
i am getting this error while running the report in WAD
"System error in program SAPLRRS2 and form SELOPT_ASSIGN-01- "
what does this error means and what steps i shuld follow?
    shalini

    Shalini,
What is the version on which you are working with. This is a program error. It may occur if a query that was already created in 3.x contains one of the variables like 0REQUID..
and further selection option variable for a further char.If more than one value is entered in the selection option variable, the query terminates with the above error message.
Note that you must generate the query again after you have implemented the correction (Transaction RSRT1 > Generate report).
Also check the SP level implemented.
Please refer note number 907533. It may be of some help to you.

    Hi,
We're having a problema when we're trying to download to PDF from a WAD Template.
We use the same functionality to download to Excel butt here we have no problem.
When we press the button to Download from PDF we get the following message:

  • Error in WAD Template when no data.

    Hi All!!
    I'm working with BW 7 SP 15
I have a query that has the characteristic 0FISPER in the Columns side, above the  key figures, so the query displays the data per month.
The problem is when I include this query into a WAD Template and I set the property "new lines" to 1, when this template is executed and the result is empty the following error appears (only when there're no data to display and only when 0FISPER is above key figures, when I put 0FISPER on rows side, It does it correctly):
<i><b>Invalid state: Section I is valid, but neither II nor III.
java.lang.RuntimeException: Invalid state: Section I is valid, but neither II nor III.

    Thnks for your help!!!
    Yolanda.

    Hi Yolanda,
it´s as you already figured out - 0FISCPER is the problem.
When you want to create new lines, there can not be a dynamic characteristic in the columns. Each column has to be defined with single values.
Try to create restricted key figures for the periods you need to show.
    regards
    Cornelia
