MOS Excel 2007/2010/2013

I am currently considering the Microsoft Office Specialist certification for Microsoft Excel.
At the moment, I work on MO Excel 2007. I have purchased the study guide for MO Excel 2010 and I have access to E-Learning for MO Excel 2013!
With office 2013 and 365 being at the forefront of the present time, should I just study for the 2013 exam knowing that it will stay relevant for longer? or should I go for 2010 because I have the book? Or 2007 because it is the one I am most familiar with.
I can't imagine the fundamentals are massively different it is just a case of making sure I know the specific questions that could crop up for the appropriate exam.
Thanks,
Rhys

Hi, RhysOwen.
My opinion - I would skip Microsoft Office (MO) Excel 2010 altogether and just go for MO Excel 2013.
Exam Description:
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en-us/exam-77-420.aspx
Your certification will remain relevant longer plus you can take a break from certification for a bit longer.
Besides, if you were certified in Excel 2010. then you would be itching to go take on 2013 next anyway. I suppose there is some value in being certified in both Excel 2010 and Excel 2013; you would appear more experienced on your transcript.
I just checked Amazon.com and saw that the paperback study book is only $15 ($10 for the Kindle version). The reviewers of the book passed the exam with it and were pleased. Check it out:
http://www.amazon.com/2013-Study-Guide-Microsoft-Excel/dp/0735669201
Excel Help:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/
My thought: If you use the free e-learning training, work through the affordable study book, study the Excel Help for gaps in the "Skills Measured" section of the exam description, and use your experience, I believe you can't go wrong!
Good luck!
Best wishes, Davin Mickelson
Many people are getting MOS 2010 certified, maybe because many company still run Office 2010.
You could consider getting certified in some of the Office 2010 programs before upgrading to the MOS 2013 certification.
Bye.

  • Documents to Go Password Works on Q10 and Playbook but not on MS Excel 2007,2010 nor 2013 on PC

This has been really frustrating for me. I'm a long time BB user (over 6 years) and want to promote BB and its features, but when straigtht forward features don't work and  when it hard to  find any information on why they don't work is painful.
The excel file that I have I can edit and save it on my Playbook, and Q10, but when I copy the file to my PC and try to open it, I get an error message from excel that the file is corrupted.   I have tried different options (i.e., renaming the file then copying it, trying to open it with excel 2007, 2010, and 2013, using the Web App to open it, and it says  that I need Rights Management (RM) to open.)  Does anyone know of a means to open  without using software to break the password. I appreciate any assistance.

    Hey garyr501,
Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
To better assist you I have a couple questions; If you go to the properties of the Excel file on your PC what is the file format? And does this happen with all Excel files created on the BlackBerry smartphone using Documents to Go?
I look forward to hearing back.
    Thanks.

  • Maximum number of user mailboxes supported by single Exchange Database in 2007 / 2010 & 2013 ?

What is the Maximum number of user mailboxes supported by single Exchange Database  in 2007 / 2010 & 2013 ?
    Aditya Mediratta

Agree with Keith, there is no MB # limit, however there are practical concerns such as DB size and how that effects recoverability as well as performance.   In terms of extremes we had one major educational customer that had 35K Mailboxes in
a single database so you can utilize a ridiculous # of mailboxes in a DB if desired.  IMO you are better off to keep the # of mailboxes to a reasonable level, i.e. no more than 250-500 mailboxes per DB
Search, Recover, & Extract Mailboxes, Folders, & Email Items from Offline Exchange Mailbox and Public Folder EDB's and Live Exchange Servers or Import/Migrate direct from Offline EDB to Any Production Exchange Server, even cross version i.e. 2003 -->
    2007 --> 2010 --> 2013 with Lucid8's

  • Configuring Message Clasifications Exchange 2010 - Outlook 2007/2010/2013

    Hi
I created Message Classification as described in:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123498(v=exchg.141).aspx
    New-MessageClassification ....
New MessageClassification is visible in OWA.
I stared deploy Message Classifications for Outlook 2007 using this
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998271(v=exchg.141).aspx
Of course there is small bug: "AdminClassificationPath"="c:\\Classifications.xml" but is should be
    "AdminClassificationPath"="c:\Classifications.xml"
After set up it doesn't work. The same for Outlook 2010 and 2013?
Does anybody deploy Message Classifications for Outlook 2007 or 2010 or 2013 with success?
I use Exchange 2010 SP3 with all RU and Outlook 2007, 2010, 2013 with all updates.
    Kind Regards Tomasz

    Hi,
How do you know this is an old reoccurring message? Based on the content or time?
Since the MailboxAutoReplyConfiguration is correct, I suspect the issue can occur by certain client machine. At this stage, I suggest you disable OOF and re-enable
OOF on the problematic machine. If the issue persists, please refer to the following article to clean the problematic client’s Outlook rules. (run Outlook.exe /cleanrules in Run console.)

  • Crystal Reports 2011 - excel 2007-2010 export

    Hello,
I just upgraded to crystal reports 2011 from crystal reports XI Release 2. I am having an issue exporting to excel 2007-2010 format. When I do an export and then open it in excel, excel gives me an error message that the file is corrupt and if I want to recover the contents. When I try and recover the contents, I am greeted with the error below. I am not sure what to do to fix it and would appreciate any help.
Removed Part: /xl/sharedStrings.xml part with XML error.  (Strings) Illegal xml character. Line 3, column 19160.
Removed Records: Cell information from /xl/worksheets/Sheet1.xml part

    Hi Marina,
What version of Excel are you using to open the report?
Have you tried creating a simple report and exporting it?  It's possible something in that report is causing the problem.
    Good luck,
    Brian

  • Exchange 2007/2010/2013 UM coexistence

We currently have an Exchange 2007/2010 environment in production along with Lync 2010 (UM provided).
I have installed a number of Exchange 2013 server and will be migrating ( over a LONG time ) to the new system.
In the meantime, I need to have all services co-existent across all three Exchange versions.
It looks like I have everything workign now except UM for Lync 2010.
I tried adding the Exchange 2013 server into the existing 2007/2010 dial plan and am having issues.
    Here is what i did.
    EAC
    - Installed certificate on all Exchange 2013 servers
    - Enabled Unified Messaging on all the servers
    - Select server
    - Set TLS
    - Associated 2007/2010 Dial Plan
    - Set UM service on certificate on all servers
    - Restarted UM service
    - Did the above for all MB and CAS servers
    - Wait about an hour
Lync fails to send calls to voice mail, giving me events 45024 and 44022 on the Lync FE stating that Lync could not connect to the Exch MB servers and the attempt to connect to UM failed.
    Any suggestions?
Do I need to rerun the following ?
    - Exchucutl.ps1
    - Ocsumutil.exe
    Thanks!
    Tom

When I go into the Exchange EAC Unified messaing / UM IP Gateway screen I see the Um IP Gateways configured in the legacy Exchange systems and had hoped that these existing gateway definitions would suffice.
Does exchucutil.ps1 need to run from a 2013 Exch server to initialize these gateways in Exch 2013?
On my fist attempt, VM was failing for my 2007/2010 users. I had not even started to test with a 2013 user. I successfully backed out by dis-associating the dial plan in the Exchange EAC console from all the Exch 2013 servers.
If I run exchucutil.ps1, try again, and it fails, what is my backout plan? Do I need to rerun exchucutil.ps1 on a legacy Exchange system? or will merely dis-associateing the diual plan in Exchange 2013 again suffice.
    Thanks Tom
After typing this, I realize that this is probably more of an Exchange question so I posted the question there. I apologize now for any cross posting misbehavour.

  • Getting "Couldnot find Installable ISAM" error in script task in SSIS 2005 when trying to open (.xlsx files) Excel 2007-2010 files using VB script in Visual Studio 2005

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to open .xlsx file in script task of SSIS 2005. I am using the 32-bit AccessDatabaseEngine driver with the Connection string as "Provider= Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0; Data Source=xlsx file path; Extended Properties="Excel 12.0 Xml;
    HDR=YES"" in script task.
When we debug the VB script in Visual Studio 2005 and encounters the statement app.open() it throws the error "Couldn't find installable ISAM".
My SQL server version is 2005 SP2 DE
OS is Windows server 2003 EE SP2
Could anyone please let me know what is the resolution for this error?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Adesh

    Hi Adesh,
First, make sure the package runs in 32-bit runtime mode (set Run64BitRuntime property to False) because you are using the 32-bit ACE OLE DB Provider. If it is not the case, the issue may occur due to the corrupted drivers or registry keys. You can try to
reinstall the 2007 Office System Driver: Data Connectivity Components as Arthur suggested.

  • Emails push to iPhone and OWA instantly but greatly delayed to Outlook 2003/2007/2010/2013 Clients

I know this is an Exchange 2013 forum but i can;t seem to locate the 2010 forum.
We recently migrated over to exchange 2010 from 2003 and everything went well until emails were delayed when being delivered to outlook clients. Sometimes up to 15 mins.  OWA and ActiveSync clients receive their emails instantly.  I know the delay
takes this long because i see it arrive in my phone and then i wait for it to arrive into outlook.  i even disabled Cached mode and we still experience delay issues.
Exchange is a single multi role install VM with ScanMail Trend Micro.
    Am i missing something here?

    Hi Viscor,
How long the emails delayed in Outlook?
Please check the message header to verify whether there is anything abnormal.
How about other Outlook clients? If only one end user has this delay issue, please try to run Outlook under safe mode.
    Thanks

We are piloting Exchange 2013 and I am getting ready to apply a default MobileDeviceMailboxPolicy. If I set a default policy in Exchange 2013, how will this policy effect Exchange 2007 users?

  • How can I get Firefox to recognize Excel 2007-2010 XLSX file extension?

There is an Applications setting (under Tools/Options) for Excel 97-2003 Worksheet file extension. How can I add another setting for newer Excel file extension XLSX?

Check the URL that doesn't work.
''If it is an http:// URL:''
When a web server sends Firefox a file, it includes a content-type header. This is what Firefox uses to determine how to handle the file, not the file extension. The server might be sending a generic download type such as "application/octet-stream" which you cannot assign to any one application. That's just a guess because I don't use that software.
''If it is an st:// URL:''
Firefox will check the Windows registry for novel protocols. This article has more information: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Register_protocol

  • How to control outgoing emails from Outlook(2007/2010/2013)?

    Hi;
in our networks some users uses outlook to send mail to outside. they use companies website's mail ( mail.our-domain.com ) (smartermail ). we need to apply some polices that users just be able to send mail to "our-dowin.com" mail accounts. not

actually we want to limit and control user mail's targets.

To restrict users to send external messages, we need to do that in Exchange.

  • Outlook 2011 for Mac with Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010

    Hi,
For already a fews days I am troubleshooting a Mac Outlook 2011 <> Exchange sync issue. I've got exact the same symptoms in two totally different environments.
    - Environment one:
    Exchange 2007 SP3 RU 14 (8.3.379.2)
    Outlook 2011 14.4.7
    - Environment two:
    Exchange 2010 SP1 RU 8 (14.1.438.0)
    Outlook 2011 14.4.7
    Problem:
Autodiscover and EWS synchronisation test from Microsoft Exchange Connectivity Analyzer is succesfull. Configuring an new (Exchange) e-mail account with Outlook2007/2010/2013 fully based on autodiscover works with no errors.
Configure Outlook 2011 based on autodiscover when connected to the internal LAN works. Configure Outlook 2011 based on autodiscover or by hand doesn't work from WAN.
I am unable to synchronize Outlook 2011 with Exchange when WAN connected (No error in logging). I am able to synchronize OS X Mail (Default OSX Mail client) with the same Exchange server.
Conclusion: the autodiscover function that Outlook 2011 uses does not work from WAN, the autodiscover function that Outlook 2007/2010/2013 and Exchange Connectivity Analyzer is using does work from WAN. Do I need to configure something special for synchronization
with Outlook 2011 other than explained above when working from WAN?
When testing EWS with 3th party tooling(EWS Editor) and Exchange Connectivity Analyzer everything is working as it should be. (all mailbox data is shown). If you need any more information about the context I am happy to provide.

    Mikkie van Falier

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
At this time, only contacts can be synchronized with BlackBerry Link software and a BlackBerry 10 Smartphones. • Why does Outlook 2010/2013 tries to connect by rpc over http in LAN?

    Hi All,
I have Exchange 2010 (Two CAS) Published by TMG (Basic Authentication). Also outlook anywhere is configured with Basic Authentication.
Some users have issues with "authentication prompt" (randomly). By the way, Outlook Clients(2007/2010/2013) are fully updated.
What I can see when "authentication prompt" shows up, Outlook tries to connect by rpc over https.
    Is this a normal behavior?
    Regards
    Jo

    Hi,
Firstly, I'd like to say, basic authentication requires user name and password. Thus, it's an expected behavior that credential will prompt once when users login Outlook with basic authentication.
Additionally, I'd like to confirm how you confirm it's Outlook Anywhere when the credential prompts. Based on my knowledge, the credential issue may be caused by connectivity issue and we can confirm the connection method through the tool "connection status".
Thus, I'd like to confirm if the connection is established when the credential issue happens.
Press ctrl and right click Outlook icon>connection status>status, protocol
