Most Important Conference for Enterprise Content Management (ECM) marketplace in India

Enterprise Content Management (ECM) is no longer just about
technology, or just about content. It is about content, community,
and context. The deluge of data and information, coupled with the
ever-increasing need for compliance is forcing enterprises to take
a strategic look at ECM and its associated disciplines. To stack up
to competition, enterprises are looking up to faster, flexible, and
efficient business processes that can channelise copious,
unstructured information into meaningfully optimised, governed, and
digitally delivered data that is available to the right
stakeholders at the right time.
C-level executives, senior IT process management personnel,
marketing and content managers are looking to find the precise
solution that will fit the needs of their organization. What are
these available solutions, and how do they stack up to the needs of
a specific enterprise? What roles do strategic topics such as
Governance, Collaboration, Enterprise 2.0 play in the evaluation of
these solutions? What is a promising approach, and how do I find
the correct partners? The ECM track at Business Technology Summit
2008 offers strategic, technical, and business insights into all
aspects of ECM, including Business Process Management (BPM),
Business Rules Management (BRM), Master Data Management (MDM), Data
Warehousing & Knowledge Management, and Enterprise 2.0. The
summit will be held 22-26 September 2008 in Mumbai and Bangalore.

ECM is one of the fastest growing areas in the industry - Sun has not embraced this but Oracle, IBM, EMC and Microsoft are seeing huge growth and expect it to continue for years to come. Bottom line unstructured data is difficult to manage = opportunity.
ECM specialists are very hard to come by these days, I know of many organizations who just cannot recruit high quality staff (both vendors and end users).
Frankly if you had skills in any of the above today you would have your pick of job's and a good rate to go with it.

  • Enterprise content Management

    Dear Friends,
Enterprise content Management is part of portal. But is it part of SAP DMS module.
I have confusion that a SAP DMS consultant should know SAP Enterprise content management.
As I know A SAP DMS consultant should have knowledge of Web DMS, Easy DMS. So in same way is it necessary to have knowledge of SAP ECM.
    With Warm Regard

    Hi Mangesh,
Enterprise content management is a systematic approach via a set of tools/methods that enable an enterprise/organization to capture, organize, store and deliver information crucial to its operations. This can be via solutions like SAP DMS,SAP Arhcivelink,SAP Enterprise portal,Open Text,Records Management Sytems,Documentum,Livelink et-al.
Document Management has some overlap with the concepts of other types of Content Management and is often viewed as a component of Enterprise Content Management Systems.
Coming back to your question, SAP EP/DMS are themselves components of  Enterprise content management system.
P.S. ECM in SAP parlance stands for Engineering Change Mangement.

  • Importing Contact numbers through Content Manager

I have imported my phone numbers through content manager onto my iphone and every number is there except all the fax numbers and email addresses. Rather than inputing each one manually, is there a way that I can import all the contact info for all persons?

    Allan,
For reference, Content Manager is the Windows-only application provided by AT&T for reading contact information that has been transferred from a SIM card to a USB Flash drive. AT&T also provides support for Content Manager through the AT&T owned retail stores.
In general when you are exporting the data you export it to a .CSV file, and then tell Outlook or Outlook Express how to read the data. If you have contacts have all the information in Content manager, make sure you are exporting all of the fields to the .CSV file.
    Hope this helps,
    Nathan C.

  • Integrate Siebel eService (8.0) with Oracle  Enterprise Content Management

We are planning to integrate Siebel eService (8.0.0.10) with Oracle Enterprise Content Management. Has anybody did this integration in past and give us some suggestions.

    Hi,
Oracle SQL Net Connect String is the entry in TNSNAME.ORA file which identifies your Oracle Database SID.
    e.g.
    ORCL_SBA =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS_LIST =
    (ADDRESS =
    (PROTOCOL = TCP)
    (HOST = host.com)
    (PORT = 1521)
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVICE_NAME = ORCL_SBA)
Here, the Oracle SQL Net Connect String is: ORCL_SBA. Net Connect String is utilized to directly connect with the Database, without any Driver being interfaced in between.
While, ODBC DSN is a all together different stuff. You create ODBC DSN using "Data Sources (ODBC)" Utility under Administrative Tools. Here you need to specify a Driver to Connect to the Database, which should be the Siebel Oracle Driver Provided by DataDirect Technology.
    Hope this clears your confusion.
Oracle SQL Net Connect String & ODBC DSN are two different stuff, used for different reasons.
As Robert said, you need to read the Installation Guide more thoroughly for understanding the nuances of Siebel Installation.
    Thanks,
    Shalabhsneha

  • Enterprise Content Management - Use of barcode type Code 39

Can anyone provide some insight on what barcoding types, other than UPC-A is compatible with SAP enterprise content management solutions? I have a potential client who likes the flexibility of Code 39.

  • Enterprise Content Management is it std SAP Module?

    hi, all
Enterprise Content Management is it std SAP Module?
if yes where i can find in ECC-6
    ben

    Hi Benake,
Enterprise Content Management is a concept and if I understand correctly SAP provides a set of tools to manage it.( Refer to wikipedia for a broad overview on EnterpriseContentManagement).
For example the SAP portal is a tool where your content is displayed. You can set up the SAP content servers to store and retrieve the content. You use the trex search functionality to search your content. In short it is a brief set of tools that  SAP provides,
    Hope this clarifies,
    Sojan

  • What is Enterprise Content Management

    hi, all
    What is Enterprise Content Management?
is it have same funtionality as DMS
    ben

    Hi Benaka,
Yes! DMS and ECMS (Enterprise Content Mgmt System) as same functionality.
Document management systems (DMS), sometimes referred to as enterprise content management systems (ECM).
Document Management has some overlap with the concepts of other types such as
Content Management / Enterprise Content Management System , Digital Asset Management, Document imaging,
    and Records Management systems.
    Thank you,

  • HT201250 My time machine back up does not appear to back up documents and e mails (the most important things for me). How do I get this done?

My time machine back up does not appear to back up documents and e mails (the most important things for me). How do I get this done?

How do you know it's not backing up those things? To check documents, go in the Finder to your documents folder, then go to the Time Machine icon in your menubar and click Enter Time Machine. Scroll back through time and see if previous versions of the documents exist in the backups.
For Mail, same thing. Open the Mail app, go into Time Machine in the same way, and scroll back. Your inbox should change to reflect how it looked when it was backed up.

  • Enterprise Compensation Management (ECM) Info Request

I apologize for this elementary question, but can someone point me to a link on how to setup ECM - both on the portal side and the abap side if applicable? I have scoured the web and can find lots of information on what ECM is and how to use it, but I can't find any technical information. Is it an sca file that I need to download or is it a switch I need to turn on? Any information at this point would be helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
For any technical details or configurational details of ECM you should go through following documentations
    1) K86: Enterprise Compensation Management
    Business Process Procedure
    and
    Enterprise Compensation Management (K11)
    Building Block Configuration Guide
Both these documents will help you alot in understanding ECM

  • How to CIF enterprise Change Management ECM, from ECC to APO

    Dear All.
I am facing problems during CIF process for ECM (Enterprise Change Management) from ECC to APO.
Every change into Material Master, BOM, etc, we must to create one Change Number (CC01) and link with the master data that we are changing.
But when we are changing the BOM status to 02 - Inactive for a specific period, and then transport this information from ECC to APO using Core Interface, into APO the BOM, in this case PPDS, will be changed for the Whole Period. It means that the PPDS will be set as Inactive into APO being set to become inactive in the future on ECC.
    Thank you all.

Somebody knows where I can found information regarding Core Interface for ECM (Enterprise Change Management).
    Thank you all.

  • I just find out many images missing from my most important project for no reason and don´t know what to do!

I was checking my SDHC cards to see which ones had already been downloaded to my computer and sudenly after I inserted one of the cards an anouncement poped out telling me Aperture had trouble importing many files... since this card had already been downloaded in one of my projects and had been working on some of the pictures I did not mind and took the card out and formated it in my camera (as I said before all the pictures had been downloaded before!) and I went to work on Apperture. When I opened the project I was going to work in I found lots of pictures missing!
I don´t know how to recover this pictures or if it can be done!
This is my most important project to date!
I will greatly appreciate any help.
    Alberto Ayala

    Hello Léonie,
I will try to be more specific:
I inserted my memory card and opened Aperture. I Pressed import and chose an existing project as a destination after choosing only the pictures I wanted to keep for imediate use (done this same precedure before). The importing procedure started and everything was "normal" but the "procesing" indicator (the spinning circle in the low left corner) never stoped (even the day after) so I quit Aperture, turned of my computer and took out the memory card.
Later I restarted my computer, oppened Aperture and saw all the pictures I wanted there, I even made versions and worked on some of them and everything was fine so far... The big problem came when I was cheking my memory cards -days later- to erase some of them for reuse and to make a back up copy of the full card in a diferent folder on the desktop of my computer (as I told before In Aperture only downloaded some pictures) and inserted the card that presented the continus "procesing" inconvinience: Somehow it created a link to Aperture and a notification poped telling me that some files where unable to download...
Since I had already seen and worked with the files in Aperture I thought the message was a mistake (the files had been imported ok before!) so I took out the card and reformated it in my camera (BIG MISTAKE!) and for my surprise when I wanted to work with this files and their versions and opened Aperture all of them were gone as If they had never been imported!
I opened the back up folder on my desktop just to find none of the files was saved there even though the downloading had run fine...
I tried to restore my Aperture library from Time Machine this morning but I think I made another BIG MISTAKE when answered to replace my library instead of keeping both... I found some files replaced, none of the diferent versions I had done, some files missing, some foulty tumbnails and God knows what else...
I´m very frustrated and disapointed and don´t know if there is anything I can still do to recover my files...
I don´t know if I should blame Apple´s Aperture or the card´s manufacturer for the origin of this problem but how can I trust my work to this combination of factors?
Thanks for your concern Léonie and have a good new year!

As far as functionality is concerned, I would take a look at the [SAP Help|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/b0/df293581dc1f79e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm]
