Most Recent Alert Log Entries - Error processing Alert Log

Hi..
Can someone help me?
When I want to check the log of alerts the following thing goes out for me:
"This shows the last 100,000 bytes of the alert log. The log is constantly growing, so select the browser's Refresh button to see the most recent log entries.
Number of Lines Displayed          Error processing Alert Log"
Since I can solve it?

Number of Lines Displayed Error processing Alert Log"
check ur alert.log file content any data.
bcoz if ur alert.log file entries is null then above error is show. ( happen with me when i am purge alert.log file and try to view content of alert.log then above error received so may be problem is null contents ( empty alert.log file)).

  • Mysterious repeat log entries in System events log

I tried unsuccessfully to share internet connection with 2 iMacs without router(That doesn't matter). But after this, my iMac (24" 2.8 GHz) not networked or on internet now shows this repeated log entries every minute:
com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.InternetSharing): Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
This message gets repeated every minute on System events log. Daily, Monthly maintenance was not done automatically earlier today on this iMac (usually it did without any problem) which was on all-night.
I checked with Disk Utility, repaired permissions. Although no problems in working, this continuous log writings disturbs me.
Thanks for any help & Happy New Year!
    Best.

Thanks, V.K. Did that (was asked password). System log showed after restart:
    com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.InternetSharing[152]): Exited with exit code: 1
com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.InternetSharing): Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
    com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.InternetSharing153): Exited with exit code: 1
com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.InternetSharing): Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
Then it started again the same way as above - with each aditional line each time as shown above. Thanks for sticking with me on this. Hope you will offer other suggestions.

  • Receiving Alerts on ORA- error in Alert Log File

    Hi,
I am using 10.2.0.5 OEM grid control and same versioned agent on my database servers. I have configured the alert email notification if there is any ORA- error message in my alert log file. The metric i selcted for this is "Generic Alert Log Error Status". In notification email, i see only the message that there is generic error message in the alert log file. Is there any way to set this notification so that i receive the exact ORA- error message in my alert notification email if there is any kind of ORA- error found in my alert log file?
    Thanks

  • Log In Error "Can't log in" with my password - Win...

I log in to my microsoft account on Windows 8, usually Skype will just automatically connect.  Recently it will say "can't sign in, please type in your password" and it pops up my microsoft account information as log in name and then I type in the SAME exact password I just used seconds ago to sign into my computer and it says "can't sign in."  Then I have to go to live.login and change my password.  I have done this more than a handful of times in the past month.  It happens on my computer and also on my phone.
As soon as I change my password, I go to my skype, type it in, and it works fine.  I am pretty sure the problem is with Skype and not my microsoft account because I can still log in to my computer and my hotmail just fine.
I am tired of having to change my password all of the time!! It happens at least once a week.  It is particularly annoying, say, when on my lunch break I would like to just call my boyfriend overseas, but since skype can't recognize my password (even though it hasn't been changed and it is usually always automatically connected) I have to go to change my password (which includes me accessing an alternative email and typing in a code and blah bla hblah" from my phone.
    WHAT GIVES ????

Have you enabled the optional "two-step verification" login option?

  • Does oracle log general errors

    Dear experts,
I am using Oracle 11.2.0.3. I am researching on random ORA-00900:     invalid SQL statement error that we are seeing in production. Does oracle log such errors in alert.log or any tables? If not can we configure to log such errors?
    Thanks.

Dont understand.... you are seeing ORA-00900 in production but don't know where to search this error? where do you see it?It is being logged from application in event log which I do not have access to. I wanted to check if oracle also logs such error some where.

  • Smtp log entry, bounces, or does the mail server send bounce backscatter?

Today, I received two bounces from mail I did not send, and they reference a subdomain of a virtual domain on my machine that doesn't exist...
server is set up with domain:  server.domain.com
web and mail services are available for virtual domain:  service.com
So, I got what I at first thought were phishing bounces, but then when I looked in my mail logs today, I found my first ever SMTP log entries:
Feb 16 07:33:42 server.domain.com postfix/smtpd[----]: warning: hostname #.#.#.#.reverse.someone.net does not resolve to address #.#.#.#: nodename nor servname provided, or not known
I have four of those at various times this morning.
I've checked the mail logs and seen that there are connection attempts, particularly people trying plain text.  I have used mxtoolbox and a few other relay checkers to be sure there is not an open smtp relay.  none.
I have one site on the service.com and it has its own malware checking (wordpress install).  It reports that it is clean and feeling good.
The default sites are unaccessible without http authentication.
Do those SMTP log entires mean someone has gained access?  or was my server trying to process backscatter spam?  I'm lost on how this could happen.

What do the bounce messages say? Was the mail rejected by a remote server? If so, which one? What are some of the other log entries in the mail log? Does MX Toolbox say your email server is or is not an open relay? Are the IP addresses in your log post an internal or external address? Someone might be using your domain to send spam email but they may not be using your email server and when the messages bounce they get returned to your server.

I tried to bounce the system.
When I executed ./adstpall.sh it took a long time (about 15 mins) and exited with status 1.
You are running adstpall.sh version 120.10
adstpall.sh: Database connection could not be established. Either the database is down or the APPS credentials supplied are wrong.
    USAGE: adstpall.sh <appsusername/appspassword>
    adstpall.sh: exiting with status 1
But I check from server that the database is up and running.
    Please help asap
    Thanks,
    Rushi

Oracle support has given me two docs
Note 550859.1 TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE TNS - 12518 TNS listener could not hand off client connection
Note 340089.1 New Connections to the Database lead to ORA-12518 or TNS-12518
I do not any ORA-12518 or TNS-12518 errors in the log file entries you posted above. However, please see (ORA-00610 And/Or "unable to spawn jobq slave process " And/Or "Process(<>) creation failed" In The Alert Log And/Or TNS-12518/ TNS-12500 In Listener Log [ID 416244.1]).

  • Removed standby but getting interesting alert log entry

So, we had multiple set ups of primary database in our local data center, standby in remote location.
We're in the process of shutting down our remote location and have shut down our standbys gracefully, i.e., shutdown managed standby mode, removed archive_log_dest, changed archive_log_dest_state, etc. However, in some primary databases, I'm seeing a weird entry in the alert log:
    Changing destination 2 from remote to local during archival of log#: 2 sequence#: 48708 thread#: 1
If I check my local destination, the archive log is created fine. In the remote location, no archives are being created.
I've not found anything on Google, Metalink, anywhere! Has anyone else seen this before, and if so, do I need to worry about it?
    Oracle version is 11.1.0.7

    Hello;
Its just information. You can ignore it.
Went back to some 2010 alert logs and found :
    network reconnect abandoned
    Attempting destination LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2 network reconnect
Setting 'active' archival for destination LOG_ARCHIVE_DEST_2Not much chance of finding here as all old version of Oracle are gone and a SAN move makes old alert logs rare. Still it just information or Oracle would throw an error.
    Best Regards

    Later
Tried to recreate message using several combinations of the parameters you listed. Unable to recreate, but only have 11.2.0.3.0 to test on.

  • Memory errors in alert log

    Working on following environment:
    Platform -> Windows Server 2003 Version V5.2 Service Pack 2 32-bit
    Oracle Database -> 10.2.0.1
My database was going to shutdown(auto) after 5 minutes of database startup. When I investigate alert log got following messages in it:

  • Errors in Alert log file

    Hi,
I have encountered following errors in alrt log file, its strange to see FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET is out of valid and aksing to use another value and that value is changing every second, it should be in increasing order or it should be consistent. I think i have a serious problem, so anyone could help me out on this. I am getting this "FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET 121 is out of the valid MTTR range, use 24381 instead" error regurarly.

This parameter, FAST_START_MTTR_TARGET ranges from 0 to 3600 seconds. It is important to specify your oracle version, since a similar issue is reported for the 10gR1 release.
The solution for it would be to increase the value to the suggested one in the alert.log file, but it could be completely out of range from the valid values, so set it to zero and let the oracle instance calculate the value. You can check the output at the V$INSTANCE_RECOVERY view at the columns TARGET_MTTR, and ESTIMATED_MTTR prior to proceeding with modificaiton.
On the other hand, I suggest you to read this metalink note
Kkjcre1p: Unable To Spawn Jobq Slave Process, Error 1089
         Doc ID:      Note:344275.1
    for the Kkjcre1p error message.

  • DG Observer triggering SIGSEGV Address not mapped to object errors in alert log

    Hi,
I've got a Data Guard configuration using two 11.2.0.3 single instance databases.  The configuration has been configured for automatic failover and I have an observer running on a separate box.
This fast-start failover configuration has been in place for about a month and in the last week, numerous SEGSEGV (address not mapped to object) errors are reported in the alert log.  This is happening quite frequently (every 4/5 minutes or so).
The corresponding trace files show the process triggering the error coming from the observer.
Has anyone experienced this problem?  I'm at my wits end trying to figure out how to fix the configuration to eliminate this error.
I must also note that even though this error is occurring a lot, it doesn't seem to be affecting any of the database functionality.
    Help?
    Thanks in advance.
    Beth

Hi..   The following is the alert log message, the traced file generated, and the current values of the data guard configuration.  In addition, as part of my research, I attempted to apply patch 12615660 which did not take care of the issue.  I also set the inbound_connection_timeout parameter to 0 and that didn't help either.  I'm still researching but any pointer in the right direction is very much appreciated.
