Most reliable way to find site code in powershell

Hi,
Is there a reliable way of finding the site code for a ConfigMgr 2012 site in powershell?
Something like a consistent registry key or a some other way. I did think of looking up the share SMS_sitecode but wondered if there was a better way?
Thanks in advance.

Cheers, you're very welcome.

  • Most reliable way to link to a Quicktime file in HTML

What’s the best / most reliable way to link to a Quicktime.mov file in HTML (via Dreamweaver). Taking into account different browsers and operating systems PC & Mac.
I want to use a text and/or image to link to the QT file, what’s the best way to do it, a QK player pop-up; or a new window?
    Thanks!
    imac G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

In all the years in using Dreamweaver. I have never used the embed code generated by by Dreamweaver. The coding not complete and I feel better writing my own. Untill a few years ago I found this neat little program that write a fairly complete code.
PAGEot...and it free. It not only writes the emebed code but it can write the javascript code for IE7 (for Windows). Plus it does a lot of other neat things that you do with Quicktime...play lists, poster frames to name a few.
    http://www.qtbridge.com/pageot/pageot.html
You can either use the html page it makes or just copy and paste the embed code into you own html...
The coding it makes is compliant with most major browsers. either PC or Mac.

  • What is the most reliable way to run one Windows accounting program in Osx 10.5.8?

I have a simple Windows application where I basically do my accounts. I do not want to tie up my Imacs resources with running a full Windows Os "emulation" like Paralells or VMware Fusion just to run a simple accounting program.
I have heard about apps that can run one windows application at the time through a kind of Osx Application which emulates windows some how. Is is true that this is a better way of running my accounting program? Is it reliable? What I do is to punch in invoices and print out reports basically. How much resources does this "consume" to run it in "one simple application mode" in comparison with for example Paralells?
And what is the term for running windows in "one simple application mode"?

I guess you could try the free trial of CrossOver. http://www.codeweavers.com/products/crossover/ You did not say what app you want to run so it is difficult for us to recommend crossover as being able to run the app.
But your question is that you are looking for the "most reliable" way to run a Windows program. In my opinion you need Parallels or Fusion. These run the real Windows OS so my thinking is it is the "most reliable" method of running a Windows app on an Apple computer, other than Boot Camp.
But you said you don't want Parallels. This is probably why you have not received any responses. You eliminated the most reliable and easiest method, in my opinion, when you initially posted. Parallels does not consume any resources until you start it up to use your app. You can close it after you are done with your app. Of course hard drive space is required for storing the OS, your app, and data. But you still need to store your app and data regardless of method you choose.
One more thing, Parallels and Fusion create a virtual machine for running Windows.
So my recommendation, use Parallels or Fusion.

Hi Prasad, once you are in
spro- sd - sales -sales documents- sales document item -define item categories,
go to Additional Information-> Additional Information -> Display Key -> IMG Activity
this will show you a code, in this case SIMG_CFMENUOLSDVOV7

It's referring to your credit card, the one associated with your Apple ID in the iTunes Store. The number they want is the rightmost one on the signature strip on the back of the credit card.

  • Whats the safest and most reliable way to backup

I have two computers that I want to Backup, one having over 1.5 TB. One option I have is I could buy a 2TB Time Capsule or External hard drive, but I have also read into setting up a home server out of a old G5 Powermac to backup to. Even though the G5 route would cost more up front but it would be easier to expand the storage in it for my forever growing storage needs, but am worried about the reliability of the G5. I'm trying to find the most reliable and secure way to back my computers up. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I have read many Pros and Cons about backing up to a server or a external hard drive. Am I better off with continuing to have to buy larger and larger external hard drives or setting up a server. One last question, which one Is the safest against a computer virus.
I'm sorry for the long explanation and I very much appreciate all your help.

All backup systems have similar types of risks: data corruption and disk failure. These risks are no different for discrete disk backups or network accessible storage backups. The latter has the additional risks associated with using a network.
The best defence against these risks is to make multiple backups using different backup methods. The more the better.
There is no backup system immune to computer viruses. They come from computers, not the backups.
    Basic Backup
For some people Time Machine will be more than adequate. Time Machine is part of OS X. There are two components:
    1. A Time Machine preferences panel as part of System Preferences;
    2. A Time Machine application located in the Applications folder. It is
used to manage backups and to restore backups. Time Machine
requires a backup drive that is at least twice the capacity of the
         drive being backed up.
Alternatively, get an external drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
      1. Carbon Copy Cloner
      2. Data Backup
      3. Deja Vu
      4. SuperDuper!
      5. Synk Pro
      6. Tri-Backup
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on backup and restore.  Also read How to Back Up and Restore Your Files. For help with using Time Machine visit Pondini's Time Machine FAQ for help with all things Time Machine.
Although you can buy a complete external drive system, you can also put one together if you are so inclined.  It's relatively easy and only requires a Phillips head screwdriver (typically.)  You can purchase hard drives separately.  This gives you an opportunity to shop for the best prices on a hard drive of your choice.  Reliable brands include Seagate, Hitachi, Western Digital, Toshiba, and Fujitsu.  You can find reviews and benchmarks on many drives at Storage Review.
    Enclosures for FireWire and USB are readily available.  You can find only FireWire enclosures, only USB enclosures, and enclosures that feature multiple ports.  I would stress getting enclosures that use the Oxford chipsets especially for Firewire drives (911, 921, 922, for example.)  You can find enclosures at places such as;
      1. Cool Drives
      2. OWC
      3. WiebeTech
      4. Firewire Direct
      5. California Drives
      6. NewEgg
All you need do is remove a case cover, mount the hard drive in the enclosure and connect the cables, then re-attach the case cover.  Usually the only tool required is a small or medium Phillips screwdriver.

  • Is display port and mini display port the most reliable way to connect to U2515H and alike?

It seems that there are a lot of horror stories with HDMI or DVI-to-HDMI, like not able to get 2560x1440 on U2515H.
So, is using the display port or mini display port the safest way to get U2515H working?
Which cards with display port so far work best with U2515H? Any recommendation?

    What is Target Display mode?

  • Simplest/most reliable setup for 2 mini's+ext HD+backup+printer?

Hello and a happy 2009 to everyone,
I'm a recent switcher (replaced one PC with a mini). Using it for internet/email and getting to grips with OpenOffice 3.0; transferred photos and music onto an ext HD and using them with iTunes and iPhoto (and trying out Acorn for editing the photos). Very happy so far !
Next step is replacing our other PC with another mini (though I may wait to see if they'll be updated soon) and getting the two mini's linked up and sharing a (non-network) printer, the internet connection (through the ADSL modem provided by the internet provider; it has WiFi and 2 ethernet sockets), the ext HD (with the photos and music files), and a second ext HD (to be purchased, RAID?) for backing up the two mini's and the first ext HD. As my wife and I would have/use each our 'own' mini and hence keep our own mail and bookmarks, there won't be a need to synchronize anything. However, there would be the need to share documents; in fact, we'd prefer to only have one home folder, but I guess that'll difficult/impossible with two machines and thus two OS running.
As I have no experience whatsoever with even the simplest of networks, I have a few (rather basic) questions:
    * What's the best/simplest/most reliable way to achieve the above?
E.g.: linking the two mini's thru an ethernet (gigabit) connection and fully sharing everything, attaching the printer and one ext HD to one mini and the other ext HD to the other mini, and both mini's wirelessly to the ADSL modem (which we'd really rather prefer to do thru ethernet, but the mini's only have one ethernet socket each…)? Advantage(?) would/could be that both ext HD's could be FW rather than USB. Would backing up on one ext HD (thru Time Machine), of both internal HD's and the other ext HD work that way?
Or should we get an AEBS (or another router) and connect both mini's (which will be in the same room, not far from each other and not far from the ADSL modem and the printer either) as well as the ADSL modem to it thru ethernet and, thru an USB-hub, the ext HD's (thru AirDisk) and the printer as well?
Or a combination of the above?
Or in a different way altogether?
Are there any other things that I have to take into account?
    Any response highly appreciated!

    Steve, thanks for your input!
In the meantime I've found out that my ADSL modem is also a NAT router, but 'only' 10/100 Mb/s, so I was wondering whether I get/do/make what I want to achieve a bit cheaper/simpler?
E.g. thru a Gigabit switch (rather than an AEBS) to which I connect the 2 Mini's as well as the modem/router, and the printer and external HD's directly to the mini's?
    Some Qs:
    * Would a Mini-to-Mini connection thru a (Gigabit) switch work better/faster than plugging both mini's into the (10/100) modem/router?
    * Would in either scenario both mini's have to be on (and not 'just' in sleep mode) to be able to share the printer and the external HD's?

  • Find redemption code used for movie

I used a redemption code to redeem a movie on itunes.  I didn't realize till after I threw out the code that I could also redeem it for ultraviolet as well.  Is there a way to find the code I used to redeem the movie via my itunes account?

The tcode VA05 is customizable and you can add also your own fields if these doesn't exist. Firtst see what program is under the tcode (you should expect the SAPMV75A).
After you have take this information go to the customizing via the path:
SPRO -> F5 -> Sales and Distribution -> Sales -> Lists -> Define Selection Criteria.
If you add your field in this catalog, then this field should be a selection criteria in your list.
Now just to populate the list with data, you should implement a user exit:
SPRO -> F5 -> Sales and Distribution -> System modifications -> User exits in Sales -> User exits for Lists .
There you should find documentation for the right user exit and which communication structures you should enhance. ie the structure VBMTV has an include, theVBMTVZ.
    and an code-example:
This form is called in the include LV05TFMO.
    FORM MOVE_USERFIELDS USING ZP.
      CASE ZP.
        WHEN 'VBAK'.
        header
        MOVE LVBAK-XXXXX TO LVBMTV-ZZXXXXX.
        WHEN 'VBAP'.
        item
    *{   INSERT         R3QK903302                                        1
    MOVE LVBAP-BEDAE TO LVBMTV-BEDAE.
    *}   INSERT
        MOVE LVBAP-XXXXX TO LVBMTV-ZZXXXXX.
        WHEN 'VBEP'.
        schedule line
        MOVE LVBEP-XXXXX TO LVBMTV-ZZXXXXX.
      ENDCASE.
    ENDFORM.

  • How to find Function codes

    Dear SAP friends,
Does anybody knows an easy way to find function codes ( those of type ui_func) of standard ALV grid toolbar?
Searching this forum I learned that you can do se11 and read table RSMPTEXTS for program SAPLSVLV_FULLSCREEN or just se41 for program SAPLSVLV_FULLSCREEN.
Shouldn't there be some kind of complete Reference about function codes of standard ALV grid?
    Please share if you know.
    Thank you
    Tatyana

    Thank you, Ferry.
Reading method BUILD_COMPLETE_TOOLBAR of class CL_GUI_ALV_GRID you
can see an icon code, function code and text  for the buttons of standard ALV grid toolbar.

  • PowerShell - what is the most efficient/fastest way to find an object in an arraylist

    Hi
I Work with a lot of array lists in PowerShell when working as a sharepoint administrator. I first used arrays but found them slow and jumped over to array lists.
Often i want to find a specific object in the array list, but the respons-time varies a lot. Does anyone have code for doing this the most efficient way?
    Hope for some answers:-)

Often i want to find a specific object in the array list, but the respons-time varies a lot. Does anyone have code for doing this the most efficient way?
As you decided to use an ArrayList, you must keep your collection sorted, and then use the method BinarySearch() to find the objects your looking for.
Consider using a dictionary, and if your objects are string type, then a StringDictionary.
You stil fail to understand that he slowness is no in the arraylist.  It is in the creating of the arraylist which is completely unnecessary.  Set up a SharePoint servefr and create a very large list and test..  You will see. An arraylist
with 10000 items takes forever to create. A simple SharePoint search can be done in a few milliseconds.
Once created the lookup in any collection is dependent on the structure of the key and the type of collection.  A string key can be slow if it is a long key.
The same rules apply to general database searches against an index.
The main point here is that SharePoint IS a database and searching it as a database is the fastesst method.
Prove me wrong devil!    Submit!  Back to your cage! Fie on thee!
    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You seem to be making a lot of assumptions about what he's doing with those arraylists that doesn't seem justified based on no more information than there is in the posted question.
    [string](0..33|%{[char][int](46+("686552495351636652556262185355647068516270555358646562655775 0645570").substring(($_*2),2))})-replace " "

  • Any way to find out where most of the memory is being taken up?

I've got a G4 Tower with the latest 10.5 OS. I have an 80 GB drive, with 19 GB remaining.
Single clicking on Mac HD, then "apple i" shows me this.
Is there any way to find out more specifically where most of the memory is being taken up?
Say, what folders are the biggest in size, and where they are? I'd like to delete any unwanted crap if i could...
    Thanks.

It's not memory, it's disk space which is a different thing.
you can figure out what's taking all the space using 3rd party tools like [Whatsize|http://whatsize.en.softonic.com/mac], [Omindisksweeper|http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omnidisksweeper>, [Disk Inventory X|http://www.derlien.com> or [Grandperspective|http://sourceforge.net/projects/grandperspectiv>. there is also a terminal method described on [this page|http://homepage.mac.com/francines/articles/TigerMisc.html].

It is probably broken. You can try restoring it using Recovery Mode, but if that fails its time for a new phone. After all, it is 4 generations out of date. See: Recovery Mode

Is there a way to find how many users are logging on to my site at a specific time?
    Thanks in advance..

Is it possible to use an EJB3.1 Singleton beans for this too? (instead of the application context)
Or will this create a bottleneck because of the standard write lock? It wouldn't be thread safe to provide a read lock on a user_counter increment method?
