Mother not disconnecting phone!

Question

My mother - who is 92 - has a habit of not pressing the red button (and therefore ending the call).  Therefore, we - or someone else - can be trying to call her and all we get is the engaged tone.  I've tried, so far without success, to impress upon her the need to do this but she generally comes up with some sort of excuse!
I've called BT about this (it is a BT phone) since I recall that there used to be a BT system of the phone "whistling" if this sort of thing happened.  They tell me, helpfully, that their phones don't do this anymore and I should go to somewhere like PC world and see if I can find a phone which does this.
Does anyone have a possible solution, please?  Or a phone which would do this?

Thanks Patty-L and john46 for confirming it is still active.
@davidv if you're looking for a new landline phone, then most cordless and corded phone should end the call when docked or put back on the base station/dock.
And the "Howler" should work with any landline phone.
Try the BTShop or here to have a look at some cordless or coded phone.
