  • Motherboard manuals for older boards?

    Hi everybody.
Does anybody know where I might be able to get hold of online or pdf forms of motherboard manuals for the following MSI boards?
    MS 6120 ver 1.1 BX3
    MS 6119 ver 1.1 BX2
    MS 6362
I have been given these boards and they all appear to be server boards (dual CPU and SCSI sockets).  Trouble is I don't know any of the spec's hence my appeal :-)  I have tried looking in the downloads area but they appear to be older boards and no longer supported.  Is there anywhere I could get Windows drivers and possibly any BIOS updates too?
    Thank you.

Alot of people rated the 6119 as better than the 6163 Pro.
    I had a 6120 SCSI myself
    I built several systems using 6163 pro's and a 6163 BX master's.
I have owned many boards but the 6119 is my favorite.
Its still running to this day using a P3 600 though a friend has it.
I still have the original CPU a P2 450 I payed over $700 for when they first came out.
Besides the board in my sig I still own a MSI-7051G K7N-GM2-LSR, my file server and a K7T turbo.
I have only had one MSI board fail. My K7T turbo had the bad cap problem. I still have the board.
Actually it did not fail it was running fine folding 24/7 and I thought it was time to blow the dust out of it.
While cleaning it up I found all the larger caps were bulged and leaking. Its funny how it ran fine and never
crashed folding 24/7 for months on end with bad caps.
I was always going to recap it but never got around to it.
    Yup the good old days!

  • Memory upgrade for HP Compaq 6000 Pro SFF

    Hi all!.
I've got a problem for upgrading RAM memory on my HP Compaq 6000 Pro SFF. In fact, upgrading is from 2GB to 4GB.
I think all technical details are the same ones. So, there're two memory modules on my PC (ELPIDA 1GB 1Rx8 64 bit DDR3 1333 PC3-10600 CL9 240 DIMM).
    Now, I'd like to install only a new 4GB memory module from Kinsgton (KVR13N9S8/4 - 4GB 1Rx8 512M x 64-Bit PC3-10600
    CL9 240-Pin DIMM).
Finally, there's a 5 beeps cycle sound at PC power on. So, machine doesn't work. Would you mind to write down what's the problem?
    Thanks very much.

Do you have a black memory slot and 3 white ones? Which slot are you putting the 4 gig DIMM into? Have you tried it with the 4 gig in the black slot and the 2 x 1 gig modules in the white slots?

  • How do I Install a PDF Printer Manually for Acrobat 6.0 Pro

My PDF Printer disappeared from my printer list. How can I manually re-install it? I tried following the directions given to another user for Acrobat 10.0 in this forum but was not successful with my 6.0 version. Can anyone help please? I really need my PDF Printer.

A repair can be done from the Help>Repair menu (at least I think that AA6 can do that). Sometimes the repair can be done from the Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel, but you may need the CD in this case. You might also try just updating AA6 (now at 6.0.6) either from the help menu or by downloading the updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=10&platform=Windows (similar for MAC). For the downloads, be sure to install them in order and probably disable antivirus during the updates. You generally do not have to reboot until you have completed all of the updates.

  • Sales quotation for project through DP80 or Manual for varying kind of pro?

    Dear All ,
We are facing a some problem in sales quotation for project , business case is as below ,
"One of our client is into "Supply , Instalation and service kind of project with material" , Here they do with with BOQ based billing and service releted billing . We are unable to come to conculsion that whether we had to create sales quotation with reference to DIP profile or we have to create manual quotation because each time their project vary on material and serice point of view and most of them are government project with BOQ and service type . Each time createing manual quotation will take time because around 500item in most of the project . What is the best method we can adopt for this process
    1. Whether we have to adopt DP80 for quotation ?
    2. Manual quotation with unit costing ?
    3. Is it DIP is must for easy costing ?
What kind of process will follow above said kind of industry ? Is is DIP is meant for only fixed kind of project or RRB project ?

    Hi
Resource billing is based on the resource consumption for the particular activities. Dynamic Item Processor (DIP) profile is used for the resource related billing. on viewing your scenario, its apt to go for RRb with dip profile, since its dynamic in nature
    here Steps to be followed:
    1) Configure DIP Profile (T.code ODP1)
    2) Specify the usage -
    Billing & Result Analysis (RRB)
    (ii) Request Quotation (Sales Pricing)
    3) Specify -
    Sales Document Type (PS2)
    (ii) SD Doc Type CMR
    4) In Sales Order Type --> Sales Order Category - "L" (Debit Memo Request)
    5) Document Pricing Procedure --> PS (Customer Project)
    6) Select the billing usage and click on characteristics. eg--> Activity Type
    7) Then define sources. Select "Actual Cost" as we use actual cost for RRB. Define%
    8) Sources --> Selection Criteria: This would display all characteristics. Now in Activity Type --> Mention the activity type
    9) If more activity type are being used then create set of activity type using T.code GS01
    10) Material Determination --> Initially create material with "Material Type = Service"
    11) The service material should be mentioned in the material determination
    12) Criteria -- In criteria allocate the activity type for the specific material. (We can also use cost element, cost center, which we have defined in characteristics)
    13) Create Project (T.code CJ20N)
    14) Create Sales Order (T.code VA01)
    15) Book CATS
    16) Execute DP91 to view Sales Pricing
    Hope you find it useful.
    With Regards

The problem is your model is European only and there is not clearly a correct Manual for it. Here is the closest I can find:
    Manual
    Your board is this one:
GL40 UMA system board for use with select UMA computer models (includes built-in modem, Digital Media Slot, HDMI port, and replacement thermal material) 517835-001
That uses the GL40 chipset which is for low-end processors. This would be the best one you could install:
    Intel Pentium Dual-Core processors (1-MB L2 cache, 667-MHz FSB) ■ T3400 2.16-GHz processor 509549-001
Not a huge improvement. You could install a higher end motherboard like this:
PM45 Discrete system board for use with select Discrete computer models (includes built-in modem, Digital Media Slot, HDMI port, and replacement thermal material) 517837-001
On that you could install a Core 2 Duo processor up to this:
    ■ P8700 2.53-GHz processor 507960-001
Post back if you want more help cause this is probably a lot to digest.

  • Provide Feedback for the Final Cut Pro User Manual and Onscreen Help Here

The Apple documentation team for Final Cut Pro would like to know what you think about the Final Cut Pro 5 Help documentation (available in the Help menu):
    • How often do you use the Final Cut Pro Help? Under what circumstances do you use it most?
    • How do you find what you're looking for in Final Cut Pro Help? For example: table of contents, index, skimming, PDF links, PDF search?
    • What do you like about it most?
    • What is missing?
    • Are there any particular examples of manuals or documentation that you consider to be good models for the Final Cut Pro manual and onscreen help?
    • By what method do you usually learn a new application? For example: provided tutorials and manuals, third-party tutorials or books, training classes?
    • Did you use the Final Cut Pro Getting Started book to familiarize yourself with Final Cut Pro? If so, do you feel the book provided a good introduction to the application?
    • What do you think is the most difficult feature/concept to grasp in Final Cut Pro?
    • What's the most frustrating experience you've had with the Final Cut Pro documentation?
    • Do you prefer electronic or print documentation?
    • Are there any other delivery methods or media you think we should explore?
    • What size computer display do you typically use to view the onscreen help? For example: 15-inch, 17-inch, 20-inch, 23-inch, or 30-inch?
    • What resolution is the computer display set to when you view onscreen help? For example: 1024 x 768, 1280 x 854, or 1920 x 1200 pixels?
    • Do you use multiple computer displays?

    • How often do you use the Final Cut Pro Help? Under
what circumstances do you use it most?
Often, I much prefer that to the Manual, though the Search function is very clunky. Search for Nest for example and you'll get about 50 listings for the table of contents and indexes alone, when all I would really want is the explanation of how to actually create a Nest.
    • How do you find what you're looking for in Final
Cut Pro Help? For example: table of contents, index,
    skimming, PDF links, PDF search?
    Search.
    • What do you like about it most?
Ease of use to get through the manual instead of going through the books themselves.
    • What is missing?
Better organization of the search results. Again, if I search Nests, make the first set of results the answers that actually show me how to use the tool, not the 50 times it appears in the table of contents and indexes.
    • Are there any particular examples of manuals or
documentation that you consider to be good models for
the Final Cut Pro manual and onscreen help?
Honestly, Apple's is the best I've seen for the moment.
    • By what method do you usually learn a new
application? For example: provided tutorials and
manuals, third-party tutorials or books, training
    classes?
Just crack the app open and start. Use websites like the Creative Cow for more input and ideas.
    • Did you use the Final Cut Pro Getting Started book
to familiarize yourself with Final Cut Pro? If so, do
you feel the book provided a good introduction to the
    application?
I thought the Tutorial that came with my first copy of FCP (Version 2.0) was outstanding at introducing me to the interface and how FCP operated. I came from Media 100 and in particular, the Log and Capture operation was completely different than what I was used to.
    • What do you think is the most difficult
feature/concept to grasp in Final Cut Pro?
Media Manager. Not sure why it has to be so convoluted. Media 100 was too easy with this one. Select the Sequence to be up-rez'd, set your new format and capture.
    • What's the most frustrating experience you've had
with the Final Cut Pro documentation?
Search results using the Help menu.
    • Do you prefer electronic or print documentation?
Actually both. If the electronic search gets too frustrating, I'll pull the print manual out to find what I really need.
    • Are there any other delivery methods or media you
    think we should explore?
Not really. Internet based help is always nice, but I don't keep my FCP workstations connected to the web so that would actually create a bigger hassle for us.
    • What size computer display do you typically use to
view the onscreen help? For example: 15-inch,
    17-inch, 20-inch, 23-inch, or 30-inch?
    17" Powerbook display, 17" 20" and 23" Apple Displays and a 17" Sony Display.
    • What resolution is the computer display set to when
you view onscreen help? For example: 1024 x 768, 1280
    x 854, or 1920 x 1200 pixels?
    Highest resolution for that monitor.
    • Do you use multiple computer displays?
    Yes. 23 & 17" on one G5. 20 & 17" on the 2nd G5. 17" Powerbook
Powerbook G4 17, G5 Dual 2.0, G5 Dual 2.0 Mac OS X (10.4.5) AJA Kona 2 on both G5's, Fibre Channel and SATA arrays in use.

    • Do you use multiple computer displays?

    • How often do you use the DVD Studio Pro Help
documentation? Under what circumstances do you use it
    most?
I'm working with DVSP for 4 months, so everytime I don't know how to do something I use the documentation. As the times passes I almost don't need it so often.
    • How do you find what you're looking for in DVD
Studio Pro Help? For example: table of contents,
index, skimming, PDF links, PDF search?
PDF Search, but I think is not the best way to search because it shows too much useless results.
    • What do you like most about DVD Studio Pro Help?
It is powerful and easy to use.
    • What is missing?
A way of editing the DVD Project Source Code. Let me explain: in some big projects I just need to change the Jump from "button_1" to "button_2", and to do that I need to find the button under my menus and choose it from a list. If I can just type "2" instead of "1" it will be faster and error-free.
Advancing in this idea, if I can open the entire link list as a Source Code in TextEdit, I can see all the buttons and link all of them without seeking for each on menus.
Today the Connections Tab helps a lot, but I still need to find the button un the menus. With 5 or 4 menus is easy, but sometimes I have 50...
    • Are there any particular examples of other manuals

    The OSX help is great!

Manuals, third-party tutorials and discussions foruns.
    • What do you think is the most difficult
feature/concept to grasp in DVD Studio Pro?
    • What's the most frustrating experience you've had
with the DVD Studio Pro Help documentation?
Using scripts. It could be better with a lot of examples. "To do that, try this one".
