Motherboard MSI Z77 - Integrated Graphics.

Hi,
i just tried to configure the Integrated graphics on my system.
I've consulted the manual, and configured the following:
   . Virtu Technology : D-MODE
. Initiate graphics adapter : IGD
. IGD Multi Monitor : Disable.
When i've saved the bios, the system dont post, the screen doesn't receive any signal, and i get the Led Debug Code 62.
The problem is that I’ve tried this configuration upon buying the board, and crashed BIOS A. I was running on Bios B, that now also crashed : My Bad, all the way. At the time, should have corrected Bios A.
The only thin I have, is a copy of the BIOS on a usb pen.
How can I resolve this?
My Rig:
Motherboard MSI Z77 MPower
Intel Core i7-3770K 3.5GHz 8MB Sk1155
PSU LC Hyperion 700W
Kingston HyperX DDR3-1600Mhz 4x4GB
SSD OCZ Agility 3 180GB

Probably co-incidence

Don't understand how enabling Virtu Lucid in the BIOS with OC Genie 'ON' could have such a result.. Has MSI tested this??
I am sure they tested it, most likely the board was defective and whatever switch was flipped by this change allowed the damage to occur.

  • MSI-945GZM3 integrated graphics memory size?

Hi there i own MSI-945GZM3 mobo, i m not sure, wat is the built-in graphics memory for this mobo? my windows detected as 32 mb only. vendor claims as 128  .. another question does this mobo support AGP card? i mean plug under pci slot? also suggest me some pci-express card which is better to use for non-gamers i m using vista beta also
    thanks

    Specs:>>LINK<<=> No AGP support.
    Compatible vid-cards: >>LINK<<
Any card around €120,-- will do fine for any office app. But, honestly, when you don't do anything spectacular with your pc, why not stick to the onboard graphics?
I don't know your board, but I think you can set/change video memory in BIOS.

  • MSI z77 MPOWER Poor GPU Benchmarks!! HELP?

I just installed my MSI Z77 MPOWER yesterday.

Now i love this board. Probably the best motherboard of 2012 hands down. Now my only gripe is im getting poor performance with unigine heaven. I have not tried other benchmarks besides geekbench and thats cpu related. Now my previous mobo was the p67 fatality performance, which was an ok mobo, i had some issues hense the new Mpower. I was gettting 1500-1600 points on heaven with everything maxed out @1920x1080p on the asrock fatality board. I have an effective stable cpu overclock of 4.4ghz and im not going further, i dont need to, my current gpu specs are above. with the msi moard im getting 1100 and thats putting lightly, one time i got 900. Now what do you suppose my issue is? I seen an option in bios settings>PCI subsystem settings> PCI BUS clocks are at 32, Is that the preferred clock for that, or is any of the other options like 248 bus clocks? Im not familiar with this bios setting as i didnt have this in my last board? I need input on this issue.

I usually set mine at 64, but unless you have other add-in cards, I don't think that setting makes much difference.

Double check the PSU 8-pin CPU power and the mainboard 24-pin power cords are secure to the board.

  • MSI Z77A-GD65 Intel 7 Series Motherboard Integrated Graphics

Hi i'm a newbie to computer parts and the computer world in general on what does what. I'm only 15 but i'm looking to upgrade my Mobo and CPU I have found a bundle (MSI Z77A-GD65 Intel 7 Series Z77 Motherboard and Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40 GHz Quad Core Unlocked Bundle) on tiger direct and it looks like a good deal. But before I buy it I WAS going to upgrade my GPU before I were to get a new Mobo and CPU. I've done some research on the MSI Z77A-GD65 and I saw it has integrated graphics, but I don't entirely know what that is. I was curious if that's a graphics card and if so what it compares to. I have a Nvidia GTX 9800 graphics card that's fairly old now and I was wondering if a Mobo with integrated graphics acted as a graphics card and if so what it would compare to. If you want to know anymore specs about my computer let me know and i'll be happy to give them out.

It's not the mainboard to have integrated graphics, it's the cpu. The Core i5-3570K has Intel HD Graphics 4000 integrated. The mainboard only offers the output connectors to use it. All current generation Intel cpus have integrated graphics which can be used or not. The HD Graphics 4000 is not meant for gaming of course and would perform worse than your GTX9800 in a 3d game. With a supported mainboard (like the Z77A-GD65) the integrated graphics can be used along the discrete vga for Lucid MVP to better performance and gaming experience (see for more details: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=160519.0).

  • OC Certified Motherboard. MSI Z77 MPower

For those who are wanting to have a good priced performing Z77 motherboard, MSI Bigbang Mpower might be the one for you. These boards have been tested using Prime95 and validated to run at certain OC speeds before releasing it to the market and if ever a Military Class III components gets damaged during overclocking, it will be still covered by warranty which other brands do not offer. MSI has also decided to make the MPower's color scheme to black and yellow to match their Lightning Videocard Series. Combining these two hardwares together, you will have a bad-ass kicking computer system.
Moving on with the specifics of the Mpower, It has an improved 16-Phase CPU VRM and optimized PCB for delivering higher overclocks and faster response time to the system. It also has an embedded 6-pin PCIE power connector to give additional ampage boost on the graphic cards. We also see a diagnostic LEDs as this helps to troubleshoot hardware problems with the codes it displays and it also acts as CPU Temp Monitor. Voltage measurement points is also provided as this is primarily used by overclockers to check the voltages accurately and in real-time. Three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 (x8/x4/x4) for Nvidia 3 Way SLI or for an AMD 2 Way Crossfire multi-graphic setup.
The newest feature that MSI integrated to the board is the inclusion of Atheros Bluetooth and Wifi N combo device. With this, you can communicate with the board using a downloadable application called "Command Center" to your ios phone or tablet to overclock the board or turn it into a remote control to do basic windows commands such as power on/off, clearing CMOS setting, playing/stopping media, volume control, and more. Pretty cool right?!
For a quick review of the Z77 chipset, we all know that it supports both Intel Sandy Bridge and 22nm Ivy Bridge Processors. Native USB 3.0 is implemented and the upgrade of PCI-Express x16 towards 3.0.

So what does the OC Genie II do?
Its a chip that detects the hardware configuration and increases the overall system performance through overclocking. It automatically set the clocks and voltages of the CPU/RAM and IGP with just a press of a single button.

The Red USB Header is for the SuperCharger feature which charges your USB device even if your computer is turned off, you just have to ensure that the PSU is plugged in the electric outlet and switched on. Then you have the regular USB 2.0 black headers.
    4x PCIE 2.0 x1 and the 3x PCI-Express 3.0 X16 slots.
I tested the board for a short period of time but I noticed right away the fast installation of windows 7 and the fast boot up to windows. Programs are very responsive and I haven't tweaked the Windows yet. The wifi device signal is quite strong too that even without the antenna, it can easily connect to my wifi router which is located at the other room. Lastly, MSI should have integrated realtime Bclock adjustment like the Direct OC before into this board. This is a good additional OC tool for overclockers like me.

  • MSI Z77A G45 not detecting Sapphire HD 7950 , only integrated graphic works

First of all - sorry for my poor english,
    I've build my setup today.
    MSI Z77A G45

I'm using nearest CPU PCIe port. Unfortunately can't try plug HD7950 in with other PCIe port, Radeon won't fit in case I own (Fractal Core 3000 usb 3.0)
    BIOS version 2.9
    Need your help

Has the VGA been tested in another machine to verify it works? Do you have access to other VGA's you can test in the primary graphics PCI-E 16X33 slot? If nothing works, then it can be a troubleshooting extravaganza! First recommendation would be to test outside the case on a plain piece of cardboard or untreated wood surface, barebones configuration. Inspect the case for any errant standoffs that may be shorting/grounding the PCI-E slot. The primary graphics PCI-E slot not working can also be caused by a pin problem in the CPU socket. A bright light and magnifier will be needed for socket pin inspection.

  • MSI GT60 Always Runs On Integrated Graphics Card

Hello everyone. Not sure if this question was asked before. But i cant get my new laptop to run on nvidia graphics. Was playing Heroes of Newerth today and realised i was getting 45 fps only. So i lowered the graphics. The fps raised up to 80. I didnt think the gtx770M should be this weak so:
i disabled the integrated graphics from device manager and re-ran the game. This time fps was awfully less. Like 10-15 fps.
I disabled nvidia graphics to make it run on integrated graphics. Re-ran thegame again i got like 80 fps. So im pretty sure the computer is running on integrated graphics card.
I configured stuff on nvidia control panel. Set preferred gpu to Nvidia Graphics Processor. Still it doesnt seem to help. Fps is around the same level.
I reinstalled the drivers from the laptops own cd. No help either. I also did a clean install. So its not about the installation either.
Couldnt find any way to change the default gpu on bios. The laptop also came with windows 8 64 bit
    The system is -
    i7-4700mq processor
Nvidia gtx770M gpu with 3gb memory.
    16 gb 1600 mhz ddr3 ram
250 gbsuperraid ssd. 750 gb 7200 rpm for storage
Anyone else experienced the same problem? Or anyone knows how to fix this?

I have tried that too. Then I got the error "this driver could not find compatible graphics hardware". I looked it up and tried a few other things. But then I ended up with a blinking black screen with rebooting. Now i restored everything and lost all my date. The computer is back to its former slow self. I don't know what to do. When i alt + tab from a game and return to it. The fps is almost twice as high. Then it quickly drops down to 40s again. I cant install the latest drivers either.
    you have some mess

  • Problem with starting msi z77 Mpower

    Hello
i 've just bought a Cooler Master Silent Pro Gold 800W
    and a mobo msi z77 mpower(today)
    i have this problem
i have tested the psu with 2 different mobo (the msi stated before and a asus p8z77 v pro) and in both cases the psu fan runs for few seconds and the it stops.i have tried it with and without cpu , with and without case fans , i have the same problem it turns the fans for few seconds and then it stops as if dose not have enough power.
tested the psu with the paper clip test and it works , but when i put the 24 pin connectors and the 8 pin connectors on the motherboard it dosen't. Maybe i do something wrong ?
I've  speak with tech support from cooler master and it seems it's not the psu
honestly i don't know what eles to try /do
    can you help me?
    thank you in advance

To go a step farther, when the board is outside of the case, you should have a monitor connected to the onboard graphics or a discrete card, 1 stick of RAM in the primary DIMM slot, and CPU with it's cooler for initial startup. Be sure to test on a non conductive surface of unprinted plain cardboard or an untreated wood surface.

  • K8MM3-V Integrated Graphics

I have checked the manual and the MSI site but still can't work out what the "integrated graphics" on the motherboard is equivalent to.  Bios gives you the option of 16,32,64 of shared memory but that is the most I can find out.  Can anyone give me and idea of how good the on-board graphics is (or what it is comparable to i.e. TNT2, MX400 ) ?

    Integrated VIA UniChrome™ Pro IGP
    - Dual pixel pipelines
    - 128-bit 2D/3D engine
    - 200MHz engine clock speed

    MPEG-2 hardware acceleration
More like a cheapo laptop graphics setup.

  • MSI Z77 MPower : Newbie RAID question

    Hi,
I have a MSI Z77 MPower motherboard with a i5 3570k Processor. My OS and programs are installed on a 250 Gb SSD and I have a 600 Gb HDD for storage. I've had that last one for a while.
I'm looking to upgrade my storage and set up a NAS in my enclosure. I wanted to buy 2 identical 3 or 4 TB drives and hook them up with a RAID 1 configuration or buy 3 or more 1 to 4 TB drives and try a RAID 5 or 6 configuration. This would replace my 600 Gb HDD and be used for storage only (not OS).
Now I know my motherboard is supposed to be compatible with Raid 0 and 1 but I have a few questions :
1- Is it in fact compatible with raid 0 and 1 ?
2- Do I need a extra raid controller to go for a raid 5 or 6 configuration ?
3- Is the raid setup done in bios or in windows ?
4- Is there a guide on how to proceed I could look into ?
    Thanks

    1: yes!
2: yes for raid 6 and no for raid 5 as raid 6 you need a raid card for that as it takes more processing to accomplish that as its algorithm based! (for raid 5 or 6 you need 3 drives minimum in the array as one is used as redundancy)
3: to set up a raid array you may have to reinstall all your files/Programs as the operating mode changes as you have to make the drive mode RAID in integrated peripherals and then upon booting system you will be prompted to press CTRL+I to enter the intel RAID setup and you will be able to build the array there! (note to use the array you will need to make sure you have the intel raid drivers installed on your computers OS)
4: http://uk.msi.com/product/mb/Z77-MPOWER.html#/?div=Manual <--- thats the manual and it has a section devoted to setting up a raid array and stripe it accordingly!
    notes:
raid 0 2xdrives twice as fast as RAID 1 and you would have all the space of 2 drives but but has no redundancy so if a drive fails you have had it all is lost!(needs equip numbers of drives)
raid 1 has full fail safe redundancy but will only be as fast as a single drive as it writes the same data to both! (needs equip numbers of drives)
raid 5 has fast operation and 1 drive fail safe but takes processing to generate the array may have a slight hit on your processor if using one as that will do the calculations(minimum 3 drives as one will be used as a safety)
raid 6 is similar to raid 5 but is slightly less effective in writes but is quicker on reads and retains a fail safe feature but requires more processing by a dedicated card to do it(3 drives minimum)

  • Z77A-G45 only integrated graphics boot

Hey all, just upgraded mobo and cpu and so far its only working on the on-board graphics, when i have the monitor connected to a card it wont start boot at all, it comes on, lights and fans whirring but it wont enter the boot screen just stays blank with light on standby, have tried with 2 different cards besides my main and in different pci slots, nada, same thing.
I did have one other problem now fixed but i dont know if relevent to this, when i first turned the newly built comp on and had the above problem i tried the onboard graphics method, it booted but then crashed at windows startup with the x07b error, which after some checking is a hard disk error, i set the sata mode to IDE and it worked, can now go into windows as normal but still only on the onboard graphics.
    Any help/advice is appreciated, thanks.

If you are migrating a HDD from another machine with a previous OS on it, it is not going to work correctly. It needs to be a fresh install. Z77's default to AHCI mode.
thanks for identifying the problem to that little curio, a OS reinstall hmm was trying to avoid that but now I know what the prob is and can tackle it once things are settled.
To get the discrete card to work, change the graphics setting from IGD to PEG, Save and Exit and then hard shut down. Install the discrete card connecting it's PCI-E power, connect the monitor to the discrete card, start the system and see if it now shows graphics.
tried this and alas it hasn't worked, I turn on and go into bios, under advanced section the integrated graphics configuration subsection and the initiate graphic adapter line, I change it from IGD to PEG, click save and exit, while its rebooting I yank out power cable (you said hard shut down), clear power (wait a min and press power button down), install graphics card and connect monitor, reconnect power cable power on and...the same thing.
It was originally actually on PEG so I changed it, saved and let it go into windows to do clean shut down to try your method, did the same thing when it failed first time, have tried a few times now, even tried the method but with changing from PEG to IGD, just in-case of the outside chance the order was a typo on your part.
