Motherboard resource issue

hey!
I have a K7N2G ILSR+2400xp.(just running onboard video untill I fix this issue) I just installed a fresh copy of WIN2000pro.  In device manager, under motherboard resources there is an exclaimation mark!! When I open it ...it says "on PCI BUS" code 14 and says I have to reboot in order for this device to function...But when I reboot it stays the same.  I have tried everything I can think of.(all updates,reinstall all drivers)  when I try to update the driver it says it found one...and to reboot...again nothing changes..
The file that it seems to want to load is winnt/inf/machine.inf
Driving me NUTS!!!

yes as I mentioned...I've tried reinstalling the drivers..and all windows updates.

  • "Motherboard Resources" Issue

    Under Device Manager, System Devices, I noticed that I have "Motherboard Resources" listed three times. Am I missing something?
    I've learned to leave well enoough alone with this thingie, and won't mess with them, unless someone here knows what they are and what I should do.
    No living vicariously through my computer allowed!

    I had that issue w/ Windows 2000 Advanced Server, but I recently upgrade to Windows Enterprise Server 2003, and it corrected the issue.
    Prior to my upgrade, I tried about every bit of driver installation/unistallation, disabling/enabling I could think of to no avail.  First time I have every run across a PC with this type of issue, though I do not think it impacts overall stability/performance, it's just an annoyance to us perfectionists

  • Is there a known issue with motherboard resources with nf2?

    hello,
    i just bought an epox nf2, setup everything, install xp pro, BUT after installing all drivers, i get a punctuation mark on one of the motherboard resources in dvice manager, its the second one, because i think there are 3 mobo resources.  whats that? i installed all drivers already?
    thanks,
    edison

    try downloading the driver package and finding a suitable update there... also checking the irq addresses in windows and then checking on boot up will also help connect which devices are which... for me i had a usb2.0 driver and a smbus driver to get and update

  • W2K - Motherboard Resources (unknown device)

    I am trying to install Windows 2000 Pro SP2 integrated and I have an unknown device in the Motherboard Resources section with a problem. Note: If I use Windows XP, this does not happen.
    All it says is, "This device cannot work properly until you restart your computer (Code 14). No conflicts shown.
    Restarting the computer does not affect it. If I remove it and reboot it just comes back as an "Unknown Device". Then if I install a driver for it, it goes back to Motherboard Resources with the same problem and message.
    After installing everything else, Windwos Updates and SP4 etc., it remains there. I tried setting USB to 1.1 only in the bios. Tried moving my RAM to single channel mode. Swapped my sound card because I thought it may be the gameport which conflicts on this board. Onboard LAN and Sound are disabled. So far, no luck and no clue.
    Any ideas?
    Edit: Some specs might help
    MSI K7N2 Delta-L
    AMD XP 2700
    2x512 Kingston VR PC2700 Dual Channel
    ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
    Linksys LNE 530TX 5.1
    SBLive 5.1 (at the moment)

    No RAID.
    I've went as far as to unplug the sensor that comes from the PSU. No luck still.
    EDIT: Fixed! Thanks to this thread. It was yet another stupid issue this board has that should never exist. Something with the USB Keyboard it didn't like.

  • BW system ran out of "session" = transaction SMGW; how to track down "resource" issues?

    Hi SAP Experts,
    we had on our SAP BW system the following situation:
    We are having a week daily process chains, that is uploading data from our ECC system.
    Once in a month, we are uploading from our APO/SCM system data from our BW system.
    Parallel we are having also SAP PreCalculation Server (with three PreCalc instances) instances running. The PreCalc Server is running daily.
    The landscape in short: (DB server = AIX/Oracle, App-Server = Linux, SAP System=7.01; PreCalc Server = Win2008/64)
    This week when all was running at the same time, we faced problems, that log-on to SAP System via ABAP took a long time, same BEx Reports (some failed with Run Time errors).
    From the landscape infrastructure we couldn’t detect any resource issues (we are having two application servers connected to the BW landscape).
    What we saw from the system transactions (SM66, SM51, SM21, ST02, ST04, ST06N) the issue did not seem to be resource based, by network, database, amount of work processes etc.
    But we noticed in transaction SMGW, that it seemed not possible for external programs, like a BEx reports or the PreCalc Server to connect with new session to the BW ABAP landscape.
    The trace showed in SMGW:
    *  LOCATION    SAP-Gateway on host server / sapgw##
    *  ERROR       Conversation 01792797 not found
    *  TIME        Tue Jul 22 14:13:03 2014
    *  RELEASE     720
    *  COMPONENT   SAP-Gateway
    *  VERSION     2
    *  RC          728
    *  MODULE      gwxxconn.c
    *  LINE        971
    *  COUNTER     75240
    In system log, database alert log, we could not find any dead locks reported or anything reported, that explained why, via the SMGW is was not possible to connect with new sessions.
    We restarted the PreCalc Server and after clarifying with application team of APO/SCM we stop the process chain and than the system was back to “normal” operation.
    Now the question is, if you faced similar issues and what the solution, or how you where able to track down the issue?
    Thanks for your ideas.
    Best regards
    Carlos Behlau

    Hi Alwina,
    thank you for your help.
    What I was able to is in SMGW, because the system was very slow, that some connection where "red".
    I forgot to capture screenshots and now I am not able to recall the the status text.
    It is there a way to find out, if we reach the "max" connection numbers, like parameter gw/max_conn 500, via ST03N or via SMGW or via some logs?
    I checked the SMGW trace, but I am not able to identify via the trace in SMGW, if the failures happened now, because max. values of parameters have been reached or what the cause was/is.
    What I meant:
    All external programs, like SAP BW BEx Analyzer (Excel Reporting tool for BW) are connecting via RFC calls. Also SAP Pre-Calculation Server is using RFC calls to generate the reports and send them via E-mail.
    Usually, I can see these connections in SMGW (goto => logon clients).
    There I didn't noticed that we reach 500, when we had the problem.
    Best regards
    Carlos

  • GX633 - ENE CIR I/O conflict with Motherboard Resource

    Hello everyone...I'm a newbie here.
    I have MSi GX633 here with latest BIOS and official MSi driver (except VGA and Sound), running Windows 7 Professional x86.
    I've own my notebook for 2 year, and just found this yesterday.
    Recently found that my ENE CIR Reciever driver had conflict with Motherboard Resource...
    Iam opening Device Manager, and then when I check ENE CIR properties, on General tab it say "the device is working properly".
    But on the Resource tab it say "Input/Output Range 004C - 004F used by:  Motherboard resources".
    So I search Motherboard resource device on the System Device. It is hidden by default. Looks on the properties, on resource tab and found conflict message too.
    It said :
    Input/Output Range 0044 - 005F used by: ENE CIR Receiver
    Input/Output Range 0062 - 0063 used by: Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller
    Input/Output Range 0065 - 006F used by: Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Embedded Controller
    Any one share same problems here with your GX633 or another notebook with ENE CIR built in device???
    If one of you had already solve this bug, please share it...
    Thanks...
    NB: sorry about my bad spelling english language

    ok, i can explain that. My friend had same notebook like mine. And he had a Microsoft remote control that work with his notebook. But it can't work on my notebook. I don't know about that remote's model/type/series, if that is what u ask. All i know is thats mce remote control.
    but. . .looks like it doesn't matter anymore right now.
    Ive got worse matter than this.
    yesterday i use my notebook to copy some file to external hdd, than scan external hdd with avast antivirus. I take a cup of coffe and smoke while waiting avast finish it job. I forgot to attach ac adapter on it. When i came back, its already off with power led colour red, indicating that my notebook is low on power. So i charge it, then turn it on. I was surprised to know that my lcd not display anything. Blank without backlight. Every thing run like normal, just lcd not light up. And hdd activity indicator is blinking 3x per second...
    can u help me Stu??

  • P6N Diamond "Motherboard Resources" Conflict

    Hello,
    I just got my second P6N Diamond (First one was DOA) and I loaded Win XP on it and all of the updates from MS including SP2.
    After I loaded the drivers from the MSI CD I noticed a few peculiar things in the device manager:
    The floppy disk controller showed a yellow exclamation next to it, even though I had disabled it in the BIOS.  I have since disabled it from within the Device manager
    There were yellow exclamations next to both NVIDIA nForce Networking Controllers
    There was a yellow exclamation next to Microsoft UAA Buss Driver for High Definition Audio.  Under properties it said the following:
    "Your computer's system firmware does not include enough information to properly configure and use this device.  To use this device, contact your computer manufacturer to obtain a firmware or BIOS update. (Code 35)
    Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device."
    After looking through the device manager I found that the System devices/Motherboard resources item had the following conflicts:
    Input/Output Range 2D00 - 2D3F used by:
      NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management
    Input/Output Range 2E00 - 2E3F used by:
      NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management
    Input/Output Range 2F80 - 2FFF used by:
      PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge
    I then went to MSI (http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=downloaddetail&type=driver&maincat_no=1&prod_no=1168) and downloaded the latest nForce and X-Fi drivers.
    The nForce drivers loaded fine and I rebooted, I then tried to load the X-Fi drivers but got the following error message:
    No supported device found
    Went back into the Device Manager and still had the same yellow exclamations, minus the floppy since it is disabled and shows a red X on it.  I have updated the BIOS to 1.2 and still no luck.
    Can any one help me get my NICs and my sound running?  Thank you.
    Here are my system specs:
    CPU: Intel E6850 (not overclocked)
    RAM: 2 x 1GB OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 / 800MHz / NVIDIA® SLI™-Ready Edition / Dual Channel
    Motherboard: P6N Diamond (1.2 bios)
    Hard-drive(s):  250GB (WD2500JD)
    Video: EVGA Nvidia 7800 GT
    Power: Thermaltake 700watt
    O/S: Windows XP

    Thanks AaronYuri,
    I clicked on your link but it was dead.  I did do a search for the file name and found it.  Installed it, rebooted my PC and I still have the same problem.  Following is a link to an image of my device manager.
    http://www.badongo.com/pic/1506438
    Here is a another link http://www.badongo.com/pic/1506493 to an image of my Motherboard Resources Properties showing the conflict.
    I did install the X-Fi drivers from my original CD but they did not work.
    Let me know what else I should try.

  • Motherboard resources (!) & can't burn disks

    I have the little yellow circle (!) in the device manager next to an item under System Devices > Motherboard Resources. Its the 3rd one of 4 in there. I looked there is no hardware conflict listed. I uninstalled it and restarted the pc and its still back in there with the !
    My msi mega 180 has kingston memory 512, AMD barton 3200 I think and a nice seagate drive. The DVD+- R is from Liteon and is 8x .. but that wont work either. Win2k OS.
    Also, I am having an intermittent problem with the sound. it seems that on some startups, the sound works fine. On others its not loading the little sound icon into the taskbar. I dont know if I can start that manually, but I am wondering why its not starting up from time to time.

    What sort of drivers do you use for chipset?
    Seems to me the best bet is to go for nVidia's original package...

  • UCCX 7.0(1) RmCm resource issue

    I have an issue with our UCCX 7.0(1):
    In RmCm -> Resource configuration
    Just for one particular resource - the resource group changes from "Service Desk" to "Not selected" overnight and team changes from "Service Desk" to "Default". The next morning the agent is not able to login and we have to manually change both Resource group and team to "Service Desk" for the agent to be able to login. There are no issues once we manully reassign the resource to the correct resource group and team but overnight the resource group and team again changes to "Not selected" and "Default". I wonder what happens overnight that might cause this?
    Note: I have attached a screenshot. And this only happens for 1 resource not anybody else.
    Please help.

    Hi Andrew,
    Thanks for the reply. No, I don't know the exact time that this happens but it does happen everyday.I think you are wondering about the LDAP sync in CUCM and yes we do have an LDAP sync at 1:00 am everyday. This might have something to do with the issue but I don't know what. And no, nobody changes anything in the system - there are only 2 people (myself and another) with access to UCCX admin and we didn't do anything. And this happens only for this one user.

  • IEEE 1394 insufficient resources issue

    We currently have a CVS-1454 with two cameras performing inspections.  Due to circumstances with the inspection and machine, we are trying to move the inspections to the computer that is currently communicating with the CVS.  We are getting the error "The selected IEEE 1394 camera could not be initialized because of insufficient resources on the IEEE-1394 bus".  This error is only happening in Vision Builder.  It is not happening in MAX.
    The system specifics are:  the PC is running XP SP3 with a PCI-8252 card.  There are two Basler scA1390-17fm cameras performing the inspection.  The cameras are using Format 7, Mode 0, 1392x1040.  The PCI card is new out of the box, the cameras are a couple of years old.  VBAI version 3.5, LabView 8.6, MAX is version 4.6.2.
    I found the various articles on NI.com addressing this issue, but the recommendations have not had an effect.
    Framerate & Packet size:  In MAX the frame rate can only be set to 100Mbs.  Reducing the packet size has no effect.  It was set at the default to 1024, but we lowered it to 200 with no effect.
    We installed the AVT Bus Driver Package, but when we switched to the AVT bus driver, the bus went away in MAX and then Windows went through the found new hardware wizard and we were unable to get the cameras to show up correctly in Windows Device Manager, nor did they ever show up in MAX.  All the documentation I've seen looks like we should not need to install additional drivers for the Basler cameras.
    The machine does not appear to have Hotfix 885222 installed, but I was contemplating trying to run this update anyway: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/955408
    Alternate video modes:  We tried to set the cameras to any other video mode.  We can put one camera at some insanely small resolution, but then the other camera still doesn't work regardless of the video mode.
    I hope I've put all the details out there.  Any thoughts?  Should we need to install anything else after switching to the AVT bus driver?  I was hopeful that would solve the problem.
    Thanks,
    Paul
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I concur with Brad that your issue is surely the famous Microsoft issue whereby XP SP2 and SP3 downgraded potential throughput to S100, requiring either rollback to the SP1 1394 driver from Microsoft, or upgrade to Win7 where they finally fixed the problem.
    Or using a substitute Microsoft compatible replacement 1394 driver, such as that offered by AVT.
    But I'd respectfully differ with Brad that re. whether the AVT driver "worked right" or not... as it was only designed to work with AVT cameras - and will not work with Basler cameras.  That was an intentional design feature.  Or constraint, depending on one's perspective.  ;-)

  • ClickOnce and a System.Windows.Interacticity.resources issue

    Hi,
    I'm publishing my wpf app with clickOnce. I have put all the stuff like dlls, reference, prerequisites and so on.
    But, when I try to install it to a virgin virtual machine, it says me that I need the System.Windows.Interacticity.resources version 4.0.0.0.
    I use the  System.Windows.Interacticity.dll in my project, but I've never used the .resources. If I try to use the System.Windows.Interacticity.dll version 4.5 instead of 4.0... nothing changes!!
    How can I include System.Windows.Interacticity.resources with clickOnce or exclude it?
    I have System.Windows.Interacticity.resources in my bin/debug folders, but if I try to include it, it gives me a nullPointerException error.
    I have tried a lot of other forums/discussions/tickets, but still nothing worked for me.
    NOTES: updating my project with dlls and prerequisites, the System.Windows.Interacticity.resources began necessary. Before, it wasn't in this way.
    Can I ignore it? or, how can I include it?
    I saw it in the /bin  folder, inside the folders with the language name (en, de, fr, it..). But if I try to refer to one of these System.Windows.Interacticity.resources,
    it gives me nullPointerException.
    This error is stopping my installer, so it is a big problem.
    Thanks in advance,
    Piero

    Hello,

    1. To clarify this issue, you could share us the screenshot about that message.

    2. What did you mean by "use"? Calling method? Or did you added any reference to it?

  • 870S-G46 motherboard RAM issue???

    Im building a new pc. Using this motherboard, 4gb g.skill ripjaws 1600 RAM (2 X 2gb), a galaxy 8400 GS GPU, an AMD Phenom II x4 965 black edition deneb processor, a Corsair GS600 600w PSU, and Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS. With both sticks of RAM in, the system turns on, but there is no hardware support, and it doesnt POST, doesnt beep either... I tried using one stick of RAM, and it boots up, loads everything, and i can use it perfectly. i know both sticks of RAM work, ive tested each of them. I read on another thread on here that it could be a BIOS issue, and if it is, which version of BIOS should i use?
    Any and all help will be greatly appreciated!!

  • Has HP fixed its motherboard/HD issues yet?

    It seems like I wasn't the only person who got the BIOHD-8 message on my computer as there seemed to be some serious problems with HP computers. Indeed, this is the second time my HP computer had died on me. After the first time, I would have thought HP would have fixed not just the computer but the underlying problem that caused all these problems. But, it seems like while HP replaced the computer, they just put in another faulty disk drive or motherboard.
    If I bought anothe HP computer, would I still run into this problem or has HP fixed the underlying issues since then? Or, is an issue with all computers where you should expect a computer to only last a few years?

    When requesting assistance, please provide the complete model name and/or product number of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.
    The above requested information can be found on the side, back, or bottom of your computer. Please do not include your serial number.
    I was unaware that HP had a motherboard or hard drive issue to fix. I have/had over a dozen different HP computers and only one has had a hard drive issue... and it wasn't a "BIOHD-8" error. None of my HP computers has had any type of motherboard issues. When a hard fails or begins to fail, you may receive a number of different error codes or messages. Typically these errors mean the hard drive is going bad but on rare occassions it could indicate a motherboard failure. The computer itself, should last many years... hard drives, however, may only last 6 months to a couple of years.

    Anyone have any ideas ?
    Thanks

    Hi Maesus,
    Thanks for the reply
    Each PC has a Q-Tec 450Watt PSU. I have also tried an Antec 550 Watt but the problem is still there.
    The Pc's lock solid even when removing the USB stick. No error messages appear. A reset is the only option.
    I have tried both Front & Rear USB Ports same problem. Tried Kingston,Sandisk memory sticks still the same.
    With a few of the pc's disabling "Legacy Support" in the bios fixes the problem but not with them all.
    Thanks
