Motion 3 can´t be trusted

Just wanted to share some things that has come up with Motion 3.
I´m getting strange behaviour from my Motion 3.2:
• The filters under "Add Filters" suddenly are gone exept for the Keying filter "Primatte". Thrashing the motion.plist helps restoring the filters, but hey, this should work!
• When I get a full list of filters (after thrashing the .plist), I am a bit confused about the Keying filter: is "Primatte" really the only option here? I seem to remember that there was more keying options than just "Primatte".
I look deeper into this and discover that the filters seem to be embedded in the application Motion.app itself, while everything else is resting in the Final Cut/Motion map inside the Library. Is Motion dropping "contact" with the actual application, hence the disappearing filters?
• If I look in the Motion.app/Contents/Librarycontents/Filters directory there are lots of filters that doesn´t show up inside Motion 3 at all! For instance, under "Keying" I get only "Primatte" as mentioned, but looking inside Motion.app/Contents/Librarycontents/Filters/Keying/ can be found:
• Blue Green Screen.mopr
• Color Key.mopr
• Lumakey.mopr
• Spill Suppressor.mopr
and the Primatte file Primatte RT.mopr.
It seams that Motion is refusing to load several of its filters! What is going on? I get only a "bare-bones" version of Motion? Any ideas as to why this is happening?

To echo your experience. I too have had the same issue regarding filters not connecting or just disappearing. My computer is a Mac pro Leopard version 10.5.1. When I upgraded to Leopard the filters went missing. Smooth cam filter totally MIA. When I called tech-support regarding this issue I was told that there were no known issues with Leopard and Final cut studio but for $200.00 they would help me trace the problem. I declined there kind offer. I think there is an issue with Leopard and the other forums that I have visited there seems to be a number of people with the very same complaint. This issue is very relevant. Can anyone out there shed some light on this problem.

How many motions tweens can you have on a timeline?

I'm a college student in Seattle. We just had our mid-terms in Flash CS5. One of the really simple questions was "How many motion tweens can you have on a timeline." Yup. The answer is one...... or is it? I had a long discussion with my tutor (who is the greatest tutor in the world) and he wanted to think about it. I said to him that I thought that one motion tween was wrong because you can click on an object in the timeline, make it a motion tween, and double click it and make several motion tweens. So, essentially, you can have more than one motion tween on a timeline. Is anyone able to advise me because this is all about grades!

You can have quite a few motion tweens on a timeline. You can even have them happening simultaneously (I don't know of a specific limit), as long as they are all on their own layers. Though the more you add simultaneously the more they can weigh down the speed of things running.
If you need to prove this to someone, the easiest way is to create it and demonstrate it. But you may want to check the exact wording of the question... it would not be beyond an examiner to throw a trick question in.

Has anyone used DETOX MY MAC and can it be trusted

My Mac Mini n now running very slowly, its difficult to open up anything, and starts up really slowly. In general its just a pain. For a week now I can't open my emails in AOL, I can see them but can't open them.
I have thought about DETOX MY MAC but I am worried that I will just be downloading more problems. Has anyone used it and can it be trusted

Don't install such "utilities." They're all scams.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen. Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take one of the actions that you're having trouble with. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

I went to iStudio at Siam paragon bangkok Thailand About 14.54 (thailand) , I told the sell officer , " I want to buy Av cable for I pad2 use for every type of TV " .First I decide to buy Av cable but he suggest me to buy Av component and told me it's better than the av cable and av component is suitable for IPad 2 &TV.

You can use these steps to remove or add a trusted device:
As long as you still have your Recovery Key and remember your Apple ID password, you can sign in and add a new trusted device to your account. You can also remove any devices you may have lost, sold, or given away.
Go to My Apple ID (appleid.apple.com), select "Manage your Apple ID," and sign in.
On the Verify Your Identity screen, select "Unable to receive messages at any of your devices?"
In the pop-up window, enter your Recovery Key.
Then, under "Edit your Apple ID," select Password and Security > Trusted devices > Manage.
Remove the device you no longer wish to use to verify your identity.
Either verify another device already listed, or select "Set up Find My iPhone" to add a new trusted device to your list.

As far as functionality goes, I don't see anything wrong. when it comes to efficiency you need to keep some general pointers in mind. These issues which I'm bringing up will not affect your code currently since your array sizes are small but can start creating memory fragmentaion and slow down the software if your array sizes are much larger and the software runs for a long period of time.
1. Try not to use Build Array. Each time you use a built array labview creates a copy in the memory. Try to initilized your arrays and replace the subsets.
2. as much as you can try not index arrays or unbundle cluster multiple times. try to perform as many tasks as possbile in one shot. (this was evident in your second loop)
Besides that it's looking good.
I made a few modifications to your code and attached it. I wanted to give you a different take on it as it relates to being able to control the inputs and outputs programitically, if you had a look up table. I didn't make the same modifications to your second loop but I can guide you through what needs to be done if you would like to move in this direction. Again your original code is well done for someone who is new to labview so don't feel like you need to follow the new VI design. Just try to remove the build array and multiple indexing as a good programming habbit.

How can i ever trust Skype again?

Imagine going in to a store, ordering an item, paying for it, and then a week later they tell you sorry, we can't get the item, and no you cannot have your money back. Would you like to order another item?
Ok, my account was uncerimoniously suspended last week. No warning, no reason, just like that.
I lose my Skype-in number that i printed on my business cards, stationary, web site, etc. Skype politely tells me that oh, we're sorry too bad.
I lose my existing Skype credit, Oh well, we're sorry too bad.
Now I have a new skype account, so what assurances can Skype give me that my new account will not be suspended with no warning nor reason? Should I get a new Skype-in number and give it to all my contacts? Or will this nonsense happen again? Is there any human being who understands these things working at Skype?
I really need an answer, Mr Skype, because I cannot work with a carrier this way. I need someone with even the tiniest bit of brains to understand that you just don't do this to customers. PLEASE!!!

I think the conclusion is you can't and I don't think Skype really cares. My account was hacked (about 3 months when the Russians found a loophole) They added a credit, then took the balance of the account. Skype in unsympathetic and will not take any responsibility.
I am not alone, this happened to many, many accounts......
Don't put much money in your account and don't trust it is my advice.

I don't know of anything like that. What have you not been able to figure out from the Apple web page for Motion? It looks like you are using Final Cut Pro X, all of the titles, generators, transitions, templates are created in Motion. Companies like Ripple Training and MotionVFX create plug-in tools or templates that are built in Motion, so those are good places to see the capabilites in action. I know these are brief, but here are some overviews by training companies that discuss what Motion can do:

Can't establish trust relationship for VM hosted SSRS Service

We are developing an Azure application that requires SSRS for report generation. Currently we are using the Azure SSRS service, and that is working great. Unfortunately, Microsoft is discontinuing that service this fall. So we have two options -- use a VM
with SSRS or switch to some other reporting product. For testing the latter approach I have set up a vm with SSRS over SSL. I created a self-signed certificate on the vm (xxx.cloudapp.net) and set it up to allow access from any IP
for testing. I installed this cert on my dev box (computer account in both personal and trusted authority). I am able to access https://xxx.cloudapp.net/ReportServer and .../Reports
from my local browser. I can generate reports without problems.
However, after uploading the xxx.cloudapp.net certificate to my cloud service, I find that service is unable to access SSRS. I get the error: "The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure
channel." I'm guessing that the vm knows it has the certificate, but doesn't trust the source authority. I can't find any way in the Cloud Service UI to change that.
So, summarizing, the SSRS can be accessed remotely via SSL if I install the cert on my local machine. But I can't get the cloud service to work when I do that. What do I need to do? I'm not crazy about setting up a production vm with a
non-cloudapp.net name and going to a certificate authority to get a certificate just to test. And I don't know if that would work any better.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

machine in both the personal and the trusted authority section, I am able to deploy to SSRS via https. I can also browse to
https://xxx.cloudapp.net/Reports and generate reports. Therefore I think the VM and SSRS are OK.
I believe my problem comes when I try to call the SSRS service from a free-standing Azure cloud service unrelated to my vm. I can import the certificate to the cloud service, but there is no way in the UI to tell the cloud service to trust my xxxx.cloudapp.net
certificate authority. I imagine there is a vm sitting underneath, but I can't access it to add the certificate to make xxx.cloudapp.net a trusted CA. Consequently, when my cloud service tries to access the SSRS cloud service on the vm, I get the
error "The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel."
The trusted CA idea is just my theory. When I use Azure's soon-to-be-discontinued SSRS service via https it works fine with no certificate.
There has to be a way to make this work, but I can't figure it out.

Motion Tween Can't Be Broken Up?

I have an object with 500 Frames. I gave it a Motion Tween. Now I want to cut it down to 100 frames, without changing the Tween duration. Usually you can insert a blank keyframe, or remove the last 400 frames on that layer. But since it's a Motion Tween you cannot?
WTH is going on with Flash's timeline editor, this is ridiculously unintuitive.

If your using CS5... this is how you do it.
On a PC-
Control click on the frame you want the tween to end.... frame 100
From the drop down select "Split Motion". This will inset a key frame.
Next... hit delete... that will delete all the frames from 101 and beyond.
To clean it up... right mouse button click and select" Remove Tween".

MOTION 4: Can one key the camera with a Match Move behavior applied?

I have the camera with a match move applied from a group with movement, but while that group is moving, I would like the camera to be able to zoom in on the object, but I can't.
I seem to remember doing this before, but perhaps I just imagined that, lol...
Anyhow, I am able to add the zoom behavior, but it just zooms in indiscriminately, and I need to zoom into a specific part.
Any ideas?

First of all thanks for your input!
I've found the solution for my missing 3D camera icon.
When I'm in (3D) perspective mode I found out that per default Motion doesn't show the camera icon.
I've to zoom out of the 3D scene to actually see this camera icon. As per default the view is inside from a gigantic camera, which is only visible when I zoom out.
Furthermore I understand that I can animate the camera via it's own transform properties. But I was just wondering where the camera move behavior as used in the templates with comes with Motion 3 came from.

Can a server trust *client* code without a certificate

Here's a sticky security question
I want my server to trust that a client has performed the operation it says it has on some data held by the client (the client performs the operation to reduce server load). The server can supply code to perform the operation to the client, via a serialized object or RMI.
However, I don't want every client to have to register with the server (eg if each client had its own certificate this would be necessary)
Presumably something must happen as the client performs the operation to show that the correct (server generated) code was used.
If the object whic h knows how to perform the operation is sent using RMI with a public sign method and the server lends its own private key for the signing, in a private field of this object, can a malicious client discern the private key of the server simply by deserializing the object ? Encryption of the serialized object doesn't seem to help as a normal client needs to decrypt, so the malicious one can too.
What about if a private/public key pair is generated at the server and given to the client for signing? again the malicious client could sign using the key then perform a completely different operation.
What should actually be signed at the client end - the object sent which performs the operation ? the server needs to know that this signature proves that the code it sent was used.
would be interested in any ideas (this is for a university project)

a policy would be fine for a server only to allow certain clients to connect - but what I want to ensure is that once connected, a client really does use the code generated by the server - in effect I want to have untrusted clients (eg anyone) to be able to connect, but I need to trust that they perform a certain operation.
I think that with RMI I can ensure that a certain method is called if the client has a true (verified...how?) java virtual machine installed, and not a malicious one... but I am coming to the conclusion that to ensure that the right code is used, I will have to give each client its own public/private key and let the server hold a register of trusted clients (which reduces the elegance of the system)

Motion projects can't be previewed or transcoded???!?

I am completely shocked that a .motn project, which without any sort of rendering, can be opened and previewed inside of quicktime and additionally can be added to compressor and encoded to any number of formats, can not do any of this via final cut server.
If quicktime can preview a .motn project why can't final cut server?
If compressor can encode a .motn project why can't final cut server?
Am I missing something?
