Motion 4 Behavior Tutorials Needed

I am struggling to find tutorials that will help me produce the effects I need. I would like to swing an object so that it eventually slows down.
I would also like to shake a camera or scene like the intro to the link below.
Any ideas for which behaviors to use or tutorials would be appreciated.

Start with Mark Spencer's site and then you must try investing many dozens of hours in simply using the application.
You can also google any particular filter or behavior and see what comes up.
We often see this plea for free or current tutorials for Motion and the simple answer is there just aren't very many. It is easier to buy Mark's book from Peachpit ad Patrick's book, make some hot chocolate, settle down for a long weekend.

I watched all the video tutorials, but I'm not clear on these parts.
1. How to do a fade in / fade out title intro over the moving scene of the video?
2. How to adjust the color to saturate / brighten / darken video scenes?
3. How to make a credits page at end of video?
4. Also, confused because I have only 2 image / audio clips for my very short video. The first video clip has the audio track with one sound graph displayed when enlarged. The second video clip has audio with 2 sound graph images stacked on top of each other saying R and L, right and left. The first audio clip does not have this, does not look like this. This is confusing. I thought both audio clips should look the same. What's up with this? Do I have something duplicated?
5. Is there anyone here from South Orange County, California, USA, who would like to be of help to me via email, phone, Skype?
6. I am a new Youtube Partner / Vlogger and it's taking me quite a while to get the hang of this so I appreciate any helpers.

Motion controller card need to program PWM or not?

I just want to know about motion controller card (coz may be i will use it)
First, Motion controller card need to program PWM for drive DC motor or not? (If I want to control the dc motor by PWM signals!)
Second, If my motor have encoder (increment) the motion controller card can be read the position or speed directly or not?
Third, Normally motion controller card need Labview for programming or not?
Lastly, Please, could someone give me some example programming or .vi for basic closed-loop dc servo motor ?

here are the answers you are looking for
Motion Control boards like the PCI-7344 generate a +/-10 V signal to control DC axes. As they can't provide enough power to drive a motor directly an external power amplifier like the MID-7654 or a 3rd party drive with a +/- 10 V command input is necessary. Typically these power drives generate PWM power signals for the motors.
All NI motion control boards provide inputs for quadrature encoder feedback (position and velocity).
The NI-Motion driver provides a well documented API for LabVIEW, C and other programming languages.
After installing the NI-Motion driver you will find lots of example programs for LabVIEW and C that demonstrate every aspect of the boards' functionality. NI motion controllers run the control loop in hardware so the examples will work for both, closed loop and open loop (stepper motor) applications.

Motion Behavior with Image Mask

I am having a hard time attempting to make an image move in Motion but not become visible until it passes through a certain location. I tried searching but think I am just asking the wrong the questions. I basically have an image that is going to slide open with a Motion Behavior but I only want part of the image visaible until it moved through a certain point. Any suggestions or ideas would greatly be appreciated.

All objects are contained within a Group, even at the top level, including images.
Animate your image as you want (keyframe, Throw behavior, etc.).
Add an Image Mask to the Group level (select the group and type Command Shift M).
Draw a rectangle that will become a "viewport" for your image to "enter" into (preferably within the group with the image.)
Drag and drop the Rectangle layer (from the layer list) onto the Image Mask added to the group (the rectangle layer should become deactivated [unchecked] automatically; if not, uncheck it in the layers list.) [The Rectangle object must be Filled; whether or not you have it outlined is up to you.]
Play.

Motion Behavior Command X

I was in the library under Behaviors, Text Sequence, Text-Subtle... I selected Shimmer In. I hit command x accidentally and "cut" the Effect. I tried paste it back in with "command V," but no luck.
(command z didn't work either)
I right clicked the "Shimmer Out" effect and selected show in finder... Finder Opened to reveal "Shimmer Out" but nope, my "shimmer In" effect wasn't there. Not even the trash. Does anyone know what just happened? I would still like to have this effect in my motion toolbox.
Oh, and opening a new project doesn't help either. idk.
Any responses and help are greatly appreciated... Thanks!

You need to re-install this behavior. I think of three methods :
• Copy it from an other machine (someone can send it to you, I can later today if you mail me)
• Copy it from a project where you had use it. Just drag it from project to behavior. Whis this method it will only be visible by the user who made the copy.
• the hard one : re-install Motion
And I agree, this feature is not enough protected.

Hi,
I'm pretty familiar with FCPX, but completely new to Motion. I am now looking for some basic introductory video-tutorials for Motion 5 to get started. Any ideas, anyone?

The 4 best resources:

- macProVideo.com/hub has a lot of free tips and tricks for Motion (and FCP X) articles.
- Ripple Training has some great advanced training after that.
- As for a book, that is also hands-on, the book "Apple Pro Training Series: Motion 5" is what we use in the Apple Authorized training courses.

Where can I find the best Motion 4 Tutorials?

I need a place where I can get feedback and have questions answered for Motion 4. Does Apple offer training courses?

If you want personal instruction, some (not all) Apple Stores offer One-to-One sessions for Motion. It's $100/year but it's possible that you need to have recently purchased a Mac to be eligible.
There used to be a link somewhere on the Apple pro pages to locations for classroom training by Authorized training companies. Naturally, that would be a significant step up in expense.
Otherwise, I think Mark Spencer's book/DVD on Motion4 is very good. Lynda.com is worth checking out and (as xpaige suggested) so is Ripple.

My macbook is having strange behavior i need to know the reason

It started few months ago, what it happens is that some applications, including google chrome and safari, takes too long to open, right now it took like 5 minutes, then the browser works pretty decent. The other thing that happens is that the spining wheel that appears when something is not responding appers very often, even when I open a folder in finder, or when loading a webpage, or working in text edit. Another thing that happens is that with some applications suddenly my mac frezes and i have to force it to shut down.
I have ran the apple hardware test and it doesn't show any error, also i verified the hard disk with the disk utility and it doesn't show any errors.
I reinstalled OS X and all the applications with all updates but it is still the same.
I changed the RAM of my computer few months ago, but i don't know if that is what causes the behavior, i know that a common symptom of bad RAM is kernel panic, but my computer has never showed that.
How can i know what is causing these errors?
How can i know if the RAM that i bought is OK?
I have a macbook from late 2009, 2.26 ghz, running Mac OS X 10.6.8.
Originally it had 2 gb of RAM, now it has 4gb.

The iphone is not a storage/backup device. The picture sycn is one way - computer to iphone. The photos are also reduced in size when synced to iphone so they are not of the original quality
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup of your computer.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good at all, you can e-mail the pics to yourself - keep in mind they will never be of the original quality

Motion 4 tutorials

I recently got motion 4 and I have a motion 3 tutorial video. When I tried to do some basic moves by exactly (at least I think I did) following the tutorial step by step on the other laptop I found that hardly any of the Icons I clicked on responded. Where am I going wrong ? Or is the 3 tutorial simply not at all compatible with 4 ?

Unfortunately no one knows where you're going wrong because you haven't specified what steps you've performed and what your specific problem is.

Motion 5 seriously needs updating.

Just completed a new project (had to abandon my previous project as some layers were not getting rendered) and discovered that a layer is also *not* rendering even though it appears in the Canvas on playback!
Maybe I'm doing something wrong here - anyone have an idea what migth be the cause?

It's a real shame though - Am wondering that Motion 5 got rushed to release in order to accompany Final Cut Pro X and the new Compressor.
The UI gets sluggish even by just having a ten minutes audio track imported and *no* motion graphics going on! This is hardly what you could call a Pro App. Just hope the update is well in progress

Motion Path Advice needed!

I'm a newbie to Motion but absolutely love it. I'm using version 3.0.2 and want to learn how to move objects (or the camera) along a 3D sphere (or globe) shaped path. static example: http://twitpic.com/3wnm6
Any advice? Thanks in advance for anyone willing to share tips or tricks on how to do this.

For starters, maybe get a sense of Motion's 3D playing field:
Create a new project.
Create a Rectangle Shape.
Add a Motion Path to it.
Click on Add Camera. This switches your project to 3D.
Make sure 3D overlays are on in View.
Change your view to Top (top left of Canvas).
Ctrl click one or both of the Control Points of the Motion Path, choose Smooth, and adjust the Bezier Handles to give the path a pronounced curve for the Rectangle Shape to move along.
Change your view to Perspective (ctrl p). Orbit the Camera to get the right view.
Press play and see how the Rectangle moves in 3D space.
You can see how you could also apply to this Motion path to the Camera instead of the Shape.

Nokia x6 tutorials needed .

First of all . i want to run the internet via wireless connection on my handset , but after i connect to my connection , and open youtube.com , it tells me "No getaway reply"
second thing is , i need to apply themes to my mobilephone that i downloaded it on my pc . i have the theme already but i dont know how to install it , so please how to install themes on nokia x6 .
Application install. please post any toturial or common websites to download or apply applications .
i know i can download themes from nokia.com direct from my mobile but its not connecting to the internet first .

To transfer themes, programmes, apps, video or photo's to your X6, connect your phone in mass storage mode to computer and open E, right click and create a new folder (as many as you like) name them Themes, music etc, then drag and drop what you want onto the phone, themes into themes folder, music into music folder, apps into apps folder etc. Safely disconnect the phone, check in messaging> Options> Settings> Other that memory in use is E Mass memory ( it reverts to C after being connected in mass memory mode)
Now go into Office in applications, open File manager, select E mass memory and the folders you created will be there containing whatever you dropped into them, tap on a theme, phone will ask if you want to open it say yes and theme will install (same for any application you put on). Ignore any warnings and once installation complete, go to settings, themes, general, find the new theme, tap it and it will be applied to the phone.
If you have a problem with installation, go to application manager, installation sett, and select All for Software installation and off for Online certificate check.
