Motion 4 create sets

Hello everybody,
My Question is: How do I create sets in motion 4? I've tried for few weeks now, but i can't figure it out. Maybe you guys can help me!
I'd really appreciate it!

so when they talk of a set they mean a group of related graphics that the camera moves to?
simply put all the related graphics of your set into a layer. You can then move the layer about in 3D space.
Then you can move the camera from one to another. you need to read Mr Spencers book or spend some
time with the macbreak tutorials they explain all this in much more detail.

Motion 5 Commands set

In Motion 5 there is an option under Motion > Commands where you can set them to Final Cut Pro, what does this do? How does it work?

It will change the keyboard commands to those of FCPX *IF* there is an applicable similarity in functionality -- example: the Q key just gets turned off since there is no storyline analogy in Motion (Q selects the 3D transform tool). In Motion's standard set, typing the K key will create a Clone layer from the selection. With the FCPX set, it becomes the Stop key in the J,K,L rewind/stop/play sequence of keys (useful, but the period has the same functionality as J and the comma the same as L -- advancing one frame in reverse or forward direction). However, double-tapping the J or L keys does not speed up the playback in Motion (in FCPX, you can tap the J and L keys up to 5 times [I think - or MORE!] to increase the speeds 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x and 32x ... )
Also, if you use keyboard shortcuts to get to the various tools, switching to the FCPX set will pretty much bash all of them. You can reconfigure all the Motion keyboard shortcuts you use mixed with FCPX shortcut keys if you want to take that much time configuring a custom set (Duplicate first!) It would be more useful if there was a more convenient way to switch between the two sets rather than having to go to the menu, but for the most part, I don't see the point.

Using Motion to create a superhero SPFX shot

Here's a science fiction-ish visual effect I want to achieve in Motion:
I've got an actor on screen who is shooting 'energy beams' at someone else. The beam shoots toward the target person, but that person erects a 'force shield' and the energy flow defects away.
I know this could be done in AE, but I want to know if it can be done in Motion. Here's what I'm thinking:
1. Use a particle emitter to create the energy beam effect - can I somehow track the emission point of the beam to the actor's hand.
2. Create a graphic of the shield. At point where the particles meet with the shield graphic, I'm thinking of using either a motion path to move the particles away, or use some sort of simulation behavior on the shield to affect the particles and move them around the shield.
I would prefer using a simulation behavior (or something) to show the energy deflection, I could apply some randomness to some parameters and not simply have them follow a set motion path I create.
I'm thinking this is a pretty advanced effect I'm trying to use Motion to create. As I said, I know AE can create something like this, but I want to avoid AE if possible and stick with Motion.
What do you guys think. Can I create this shot in Motion? (God, I wish there was something like videocopilot.net for Motion users!)

If you have any $$ to throw at your project/sfx shot. I'd recommend buying CHV (Christoph Vorheim's) Particles Heaven plug-in for Motion/FCP. Great particle generator with the ability to manipulate, bounce, emit particles from particles (think the beam hitting the shield, then randomly reflecting and emitting a different kind of particle upon impact).
Anyway, I use CHV plugs for project work, love 'em and I don't get any compensation for endorsing the plugs.

Error "No entry in table T551A" while creating set work schedule rule.

Dear Team,
I am getting following error while creating set work schedule rule.
Error "No entry in table T551A" for key 22 BBB [ here BBBB is my period work schedule]
The actual prob is i configured all the necessary steps but when i tried to create work schedule rule im getting this error. Also, in the same screen there is one field DWS grouping initially value in this is 00 and gread mode. But after giving ES grp, holiday calander ID etc etc when i try to save that screen that value is chainging to 22 from 00.
My ES grop=2 and PS grop=2 . Is that value is my ES and PS grouping..?? or some other thing.
Request you to please help me out.

1. Group Personnel Subareas for the Daily Work Schedule
2. Group Personnel Subareas for the Work Schedule
3. Define Break Schedules
4. Define Daily Work Schedules
5. Define Period Work Schedules
6. Define Employee Subgroup Groupings
7. Define Groupings for the Public Holiday Calendar
8. Set Work Schedule Rules and Work Schedules
All of them belong to TIME MANAGEMENT. I think you miss some steps above.
Please check it again.

Creating sets using a table data

Hi,
I have a table TVBVK which is for sales and not related to FI data. I am trying to create sets so that the sales office would be the parent node and the sales group would be the child. I am using GS01 and it seems that it would not work because the parent which is the sales office value that is different from the child value that is the sales group.
How would I create an hierarchy using sets by reading from this table? Would it be possible? Could I create sets so that the field names are different?

Sets can be used in validations or subtitutions.
Perhaps you want to validate that for example account is included in a group of accounts... then you need to create a set that include all the accounts.
example
validate if account is in set "bank_accounts"
set bank account included the accounts : 572000, 573000
Sets can be used what ever you want to check if some value is included or not into a group of parameters (accounts, company codes, document class, etc etc etc)

JAXB parsing doesn't create set properties.

Using ant and JAXB - when the package is compiled with dtd and the elements are
set to minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded", no set method is produced.
If the minOccurs="0" maxOccurs="unbounded" is removed set methods are available,
although then the elements are mandatory. Using the following dtd, provider_vendor_batch is the root element.

3 Things I'd like to see done in the next version of JAXB.
1) Allow for numeric Wrapper types in the type = "xsd:...". Like, for Long and Integer...not just BigInteger.
2) Create a tag type, that is like <xsd:all>, but allows for multiple occurences, in ANY order, i.e. DBAAECBBAD
3) Fix (cough)the maxOccurs = "unbounded" to create set methods at compilation.

Creating sets to load hierarchy data to BW

Hi,
I was able to create sets using GS01 and change set using GS02, create a Datasource, and load the data as an hierarchy in BW.
My question is creating and changing sets is a manual process using these transactions, so what's the point of doing this instead of entering the data directly in BW to create and maintain the hierarchy? I would think then that the preferrred method would be to write an ABAP program to create a flat file with the hierarchy layout and then upload to BW?
Would some clarify what's the point of using GS01 and GS02 as opposed to maintaining it directly in BW or upload a flat file?
Is there a way to automatically create and change sets?

I also have the similer problem for hierarhcy files, I used to get the dump of hierarchy data. all child parent info comes in a single rows. see the example below :

I have developed a Foxpro local program, which will convert above flat data into BW Hierarchy loadable flat file.
Similer you can also do the same. get the flat file from R3 and then convert to BW hierarhcy file using local program and then load to BW.

I need to create custom transaction code for 'GS01' and restrict this transaction code only to create sets starting with 'ZMR' No other sets should be allowed to be created.
If anyone have done before with the same scenario. Please give me clear documentation on this .

YOu cannot find the call to the badi's by searching the main program.
The badi is called a t run time.
To find a badi attached to a main program, goto se38,
GIve the program name.
Goto->Object Directory Entry. Find the package.
Go to se18 transaction, Press f4.
give the package name in the popup.
you can get the badis associated with the main program.

Using IMAQ create, set-up, acquire and windraw to save image without color map

Hi,
Attached is my VI (using labview 8.5) and am not sure where it is getting the color info from, but it saves the image as jpeg/bmp/tiff with colormap (confirmed by imread in matlab). Can someone help me save these images without colormap info.

I was wondering is it possible to create slicer for set created based on column items?
Data table looks like:

I created set based on column items and called it PRODUCERS
What I need is to create slicer for PRODUCERS.
The problem is powerpivot does not give a possibility to create slicer! I can use PRODUCERS in my powerpivot table, but I can not create slicer!
I was wondering why? And is there any workaround?

    - create slicer for Table 2.
    - use this slicer to filter Table 1. ( I need a good measure to do this)
But I am not sure this workaround is possible. The measure I wrote returns error.
