Motion don't launch

I have installed Motion 1 and it worked perfect until I upgraded to Tiger.
Because I have an PowerPC AGP Graphics that shouldn't let me run motion I upgraded the computer as much is I could. I installed an ATI Radeon 9800 Pro. I installed a 1.7 GHz CPU sonnet encore and 2 GB ram. Motion was running until I upgrade from Panther to tiger. Motion don't launch and if I want to reinstall it tells me that I don't have the hardware to run motion. Okay I installed from ATI the drivers and I installed all the 10.4.7 combo updates and the problem still
Any help
Thanks

Heya Hernan,
Upgrading to Tiger has caused some people to have a mismatch in the Pro Apps UI frameworks. Check out this post: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2476659&#2476659
Downloading either or both of the Pro Application Support updates may fix your problem.
Good luck!

  • Motion crashes at launch anyone know why please?

hello does anyone know why motion crashes on launch?

Have you tried booting up in safe mode? Hold down the shift key while booting up. If that works you might try uninstalling that new software you just installed.

  • My Applications Don't launch ..:(

    Hello Again ..!!
I migrated from Snow Leopard to Mavericks on my late 2009 unibody macbook. The installation went well but now I'm having a terrible time working on my mac.
Most of my applications such as (Terminal / App Store / Software Update / Camera / iPhoto / iMessage ) don't launch..!!
My finder acts weird ..!! At times, it'll show the files on my hard drive, at times it goes blank .. The only way out of this is to relaunch..
Am i the only one facing these issues ..?? Now how will I ever be able to update the upcoming updates when my software update doesn't work ..??
    Please help ..:(

You ran a defective third-party "utility" such as "CleanMyMac" that purports to "clean up" "junk" files. What it really does is to corrupt the operating system.
The first thing you need to do is remove that software according to the developer's instructions. Never install it, or anything like it, again. Then see below.
If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

  • Intel IMac sometimes don't launch Audio Instrum

    Hi!
Recently I purchased a Intel IMac 1.8 and an M Audio Midi One interface. As it's a very new machine, I decided to install the OS using the DVDs that came with the IMac, and then search for the upgrades at apple. Well, after installing everything, including LP7.2 full version and LP7.2.1 upgrade, I've noticied that sometimes some audio instruments don't launch, and when I try to close the project, logic crashes. Does anyone know something about it? I'm trying to work mainly with audio instruments, and I really can't get a job.

Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
    Do the following:
    1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed with reinstalling OS X.  Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files.  After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.

  • Motion will not launch.

So I recently had my MacBookPro's video card take a dump, it was apparnetly a bad video card and it was replaced. When I got my Mac back from the store FCP would not open. I uninstalled the entire thing and reinstalled everything. FCP is working wonderfully but Motion will not launch. I get "The application Motion quite unexpectdly" when I try to open it, and I have old Motion files on my hard drives that I can't even get to import into FCP (it says they are unrecognized files). I'm using FCP 7, Motion 4, OS X 10.5.8, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4G memory (just upgraded from 2G), I know it's really old but it's all I got! Any ideas?

  • CST Design Premium Applications don't launch.

5 days ago all my CS5 Design Premium programs stopped launching. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the entire package several times, but when I click on any of the icons to launch them, they don't launch. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm running CS5 on a MAC PowerBook.

Ok BJD123* is there one program in particular you are facing this difficulty with?  If you are experiencing difficulties with opening the applications it is usually best to post in that particular Software titles forum.  The users in these forums are usually more familiar with the particularities of that application.  For example if Photoshop is failing to open then you would want to post your Photoshop Version, Operating System, and any applicable errors messages to the Photoshop General Discussion forum - http://forums.adobe.com/community/photoshop.
You can verify if you received an installation error by reviewing the installation log files.  You can find details on how to locate and review the files at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.
Since the applications started having problems after they were working properly it is unlikely it is an installation error.  At the same time it doesn't hurt to do a quick check for the words ERROR and FATAL in the install logs.

  • Burned Apple DVDs don't launch anymore

    Hello,
    I'm french and working on a PowerPC G4 2x1Ghz under 10.4.11.
I'm burning archives since 5 years and bought especially apple DVDs to be sure of quality (seems to have been a mistake !). Most of them don't launch anymore when i put them in th computer. Some come up on the desk but impossible to open the Stuff-it files !
CDs and other DVDs are working fine.
What is the problem? Is it the quality of the apple DVDs? Can I recover these archives in some other way ?
    Thanks for the help…

I see you are using the original DVD drive that came with the computer. Many users of the 104 generation drives are finding these drives are starting to fail and are switching to newer drives like the Pioneer 112 and 115 drives. DVDs are pretty demanding on a drive's ability. My old 104 drive refused to read DVDs and some CDs. I bought a new 112 and it does everything with no problem. At least in the US replacement drives are very inexpensive ($30) so I would suggest you try that.
It could also be something like dirt in the drive, but the cleaning disks cost $10+ which is a good percentage of a new drive!
If you can try your DVDs in a computer with a new drive and it will read them you will know that it is your drive.

  • Motion 5 Not Launching Correctly

Purchased, for the first time, FCPx, Compressor 4 and Motion 5 from the Mac App Store. Both FCPx and Compressor launches and works fine. Motion worked upon the first initial launch after installation. Every subsequent launch of Motion comes up with the menus. Project Browser sometimes, but not always, displays. Most options in the menu drop-downs (things like New... and Preferences) and buttons in the Project Browser (you have to leave the app and then return to it to have the Project Browser appear) do not work. Even the buttons located on the Splash Screen (Apple Menu...About Motion) do not work. I have deleted the user preferences: com.apple.motionapp.plist I have also uninstalled, re-downloaded and reinstalled Motion from the Mac App Store. Any assistance in getting this program working, will be greatly appreciated.
No previous versions of Final Cut (anything). Updated to OSX 10.6.8. Machine info: Mac Pro 2,1 8-core 3GHz, 8GB RAM, 1900XT and 7300GT

    This issue has been resolved.
It seems there was an issue with the System and not the Application or User space.  I tried to restore 10.6.7 (with M5, FCPX and C4) installed.  (I installed these apps prior to 10.6.8.)  This resulted in kernel panics after restores from different dates and OS numbers.
Re-installed SL on a clean partition and updated to 10.6.8 with the Combo download.  Ran Software Update once. Restarted to verify the system was working properly and then used Migration Assistant to restore the Apps and Users from TM.  Everything in these spaces restored except for Motion.  (It was not in the Application Folder in TM but the Application Support and User prefs were.)  I copied Motion from the 10.6.7 version of the TM backup to the now clean and fully migrated OS.  Motion works now as expected.  I don't know what was going on with this but am happy to report this resolution.  (I really don't want to go digging through Console to find out what really was causing this.)

  • Iwork08 apps don't launch in leo

i added this post to a similar thread only to realize the thread was tagged as 'answered'.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1250890&tstart=0
sadly i am still having problems-anyone have anything new to say that may help me?
i *followed all the suggestions in this thread to no avail. i also did the google thing and followed this guys advice to the letter:*
    *http://www.jurecuhalev.com/blog/2008/02/18/how-to-fix-iwork-08keynoteidvdnumbers pages-nsinternalinconsistencyexception-crash/*
*i was able the quit the pboard process in AM and pages did in fact launch. the joy was short lived as after a restart i was back to square one*
*i've looked everywhere but can find no pboard plist to delete. another suggestion i was unable to follow was 'reset font cache' as i don't know how to do that.*
*THIS IS THE SORT OF THING THAT MAKES ME CRAZY-*
*i am posting tonight in the hope of keeping this thread alive and hopefully solving this enigma someday.*
*any help would be greatly appreciated by myself and i suspect many others. cheers!*

It seems that there is a bit of contradiction here as the message told you that you may get the free "Font Nuke" program to get rid of the font cache problem.
So, my guess is that you didn't apply the advice to the letter. But of course, it's just a guess

  • NetBeans and Gimp don't launch

I've reported that NetBeans works only command-line[1]. I've now noticed that also GIMP has problems on my machine, that's clicking on the icon twice will show it for a sec but then close. I therefore suspect there's something wrong with my mac, and not those applications. Maybe X11 has something to do with it?
I can launch X11 from the utilties folder.
    [1] https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=196063

I've updated the system through Mac OS Update.
From another admin both programs work.
It seems deleting preference files won't do the trick. I now see the following logs. How do I fix other than by deleting my account and creating a new one (and lose my configuration here and there?)

Hope to go trough this to install extensions, thanks.

I have the same problem. Questions:
    1. Did you find in the meantime a solution?
    No solution yet ...
I made some tests with desactivation my InpuManagers, same thing ...
    2. Did you accomplish an update of leopard on SnowLeopard?
Yes Snow Leopard came on an Leopard installation.
On my new MacBook Pro the manager runs problem-free!
Yes, should be a damn old thing in the /Library/Adobe (there is really
lots of things in here) or something like that, but I don't want to break
    more things ...

  • Compressor and Motion don't open... may be because of Shake...

They were working before I: a) downloaded trial version of Shake, b) downloaded the trial of Parallels for Mac or c) downloaded latest versions of software updates. Have Final Cut Studio Academic...cleared out the pref settings for compressor and Motion.
    Your thoughts? Thanks...

    a) highly unlikely
    b) very likely
    c) doubtful
what have you done to troubleshoot this? how about clearing parallels or repairing permissions or......
trashing the preferences for compressor or motion isn't gonna do anything for this. it's a conflict with software and my guess it's parallels causing the problems.

  • AppStore problems; Apps don't launch

This is turning into an absolute farce, as if the problems on launch day weren't bad enough.
I have purchased two applications today through the iPhone's AppStore, and both times I have the same problem - which I have seen other people talking about as well: The applications downloaded but then took a very long time during the "Installing" phase, and then once that had finished, they won't start.
Tapping on their icons just makes the iPhone pause, and then I get chucked straight back to the home screen.
I have tried deleting them and re-installing: same problem. I am also getting frequent "App Store is not available" messages and timeouts when browsing apps, from this I am guessing that the app tries to contact the store during the final part of the "installing" phase, times out, and leaves a broken application installed.
So, not really making a very good impression at the moment. I assume that as I can re-download applications, I haven't actually lost any money but it still makes the whole thing look like a complete shambles.

Same here. Absolutely ridiculous. OneTap Movies just crashes and snaps back to the home screen every time it is launched - although it worked prior to syncing. I had to restore my phone and set it up as a new phone to get it working again. Now it's back to crashing after syncing. Utterly ridiculous and completely unacceptable.
I am really disappointed in Apple - apps crashing constantly, MobileMe/.Mac aliases have disappeared from Mail.app on the Mac and aren't available to send from on the iPhone either, MobileMe updater issues...the list just goes on.
Too bad they don't seem to read feedback or these forums. Don't they use the iPhone themselves? I mean sh*#!, we've only had the 2.0 firmware and MobileMe for 2 days now and we've been plagued with constant issues. At least an acknowledgement that something is going on would be nice. I could at least respect that.
