Motion files wont overlay with my fcp file
I am having trouble getting my motion file to integrate with my fcp file.
I would like to import it without the background so that it has a transparent background.
I have read a few others comments on this but i still cant figure it out...
please explain this to me as you would a 4 year old...so i can get it:)

thanks for helping me out...i am new to this program...
i have a fcp file and i want to place an element of motion over it...i would like to be able to have the element to be transparent with no background.
i have browsed through project properties and didn't find anything there that would help(that i know of)
i have tried to adjust the "color" to "alpha overlay"(found in the upper right hand corner next to "view")
i have tried to just import the motion project into fcp...
so as you can see i have no idea what i am doing:)

It's legit. There are lots of links in Apple Support Communities to the LibreOffice web site, as well as others that are legitimate open-source developers of options to buying MS Office, such as NeoOffice and OpenOffice. I have Open Office installed on one of my older Macs that can't run Office 2011 and it is rock-solid.

I get a dialogue box asking "What should Firefox do with this file" Options open with or save file. My wife selected save file and now it only opens note pad and displays the text of the file to be saved. OK in windows Internet Explorer.

Re-install Final Cut Studio 1 Probs with old fcp files and compressor
We crashed our G5 and reinstalled OSX 10.4.8 (Build 8N1430) and FC Studio 1 from original media. In the past (not now) the G5 was connected to the internet and was set to auto-update. I'm assuming and have been told by those working with the system at the time that both FCP and OSX were regularly updated online. We recently re-installed the OS and FCS 1. We have not re-connected the box to the internet; have not updated OS or App software from the versions on installs disks, have not re-registered any software online with apple.
When re-installing the OS, I archived the old system.
My problems are:
1) I can't open old fcp files (projects). These fcp files are projects saved both to an external 500G LaCie and saved on the macintosh hard drive. I cannot open old fcp files archived in the previous system folder on the HD. I get the message "General Error 41" when trying to open these files. I also cannot open old (pre-re-install) quicktime files made with old FCP assets.
I can open new projects and files saved since re-install.
2) (probably related) Compressor will not open and gives me the message "Compressor quit unexpectedly..." I tried a second re-install of DVD studio pro Compressor package. I have a dump of the console crash log for Compressor below.
The G5 in question is currently Not connected to the internet and keeps trying to get online. We have Not re-registered with Apple via the internet either the OS or FC Studio 1 or any of the re-installed software. When I open FCP is asks to reg. Logs show the system trying to get an ethernet connection all the time.
Should I put the box online and register and update? Do I have to do this?
Are the pre-re-installed fcp projects "too-new" for the re-installed (older) FCP to read/open?
In general, I don't want editing bays to be online for these kind of reasons. Is this impossible anymore?
Is it know that Compressor and other elements of OSX and FC Studio can get into versioning issues with online updates such that re-install with cause incompatibility?

IDCS file wont open with CS2. says "plug-ins arent updated?!"
so, i recently installed CS2 on my computer, and when i try to open a particular file that was made with CS, i get an error message that says:
"the document uses one or more plug-ins which are not currently available on your system. do you want to open anyway?"
it also lists:
LILO.indesignPlugin
CellStyles.rpln.indesignplugin
if i say yes, open anyway, it says it cant. and it doesnt.
booooo.
how can i fix this?

Have the person who created the file export an INX (InDesign Interchange file). You can open it if you have the latest version of CS2. (However, the cell styles won't be cell styles anymore.) -
Files wont convert with sidecar information
Hello, I have been trying to convert camera raw files to jpgs with updated color correction, exposure, etc working from Bridge to CS3 using batch processing. The application runs the script with sharpening but will not apply the updated camera raw information. The jpgs looks the same as the raw files without any correction. This process was working fine up till now but for some reason it won't covert anymore. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, David
You must purchase the Quicktime MPG-2 Playback Component from Apple ($20 US) for MPEG Streamclip be able to convert mpg-2 encoded content.
Programs like DVDxDV and VisualHub run in a demo mode and don't require that purchase.
Since i know i did this before without having to pay to download anything, i wonder what i am doing wrong or has it changed in the last few months?
Nothing has changed. Perhaps you used the demo mode of one of the other apps I mentioned.

Local files wont sync with my mobile
So I was trying to add my AC/DC songs, that I have purchased time ago, to spotify since they don't have AC/DC, I created a playlist with my local files on the desktop app, then synced the playlist with my android device. I can see the playlist on my mobile but when I want to make it available offline it never download any tracks, they just stay in a gray color and I can't even play them. How can I fix this?
Hello MDOGBD, try to access your anti-virus settings. There should be an option to disable it permanently or temporarily. Most anti-virus softwares have a small icon in your Windows tray and you should be able to right click for options to disable it (that is if you are running Windows). Your question was not very clear. You should be able to play local files straight away on your computer. For ease of understanding, the computer with your local songs shall be called computer A. If you are looking to sync those songs to another computer (computer B) then unfortunately that doesn't work. You would have to have a copy of those songs on computer A transferred to computer B and listed under the local files section to play them.
If the problem is to do with syncing the local songs on computer A to your phone, try the solutions listed by the other posters on this page. If that doesn't help try restarting your router and your phone.

etiquetas means tags or keywords or labels, as you can see in the first picture at the second row, some file (office pack) show the tags but the selected one doesn't (pdf).
propiedades means properties. The properties shown are different if I opened from file explorer to acrobat.
I think there is a compatibility problem with the xmp file (metadata) from pdf file ans windows 8.1 (64bits). I tried to solve it by installing a missing file called ifilter, but the problem continuesI believe this is all normal.

Converting .wmv files to work with in FCP
Hi-
I was given cell phone footage that was saved into .wmv files. The client wants to enhance them a little, so I need to work with them in FCP 7.
What would be the best format to convert them to? I'll probably use streamclip to convert them. What do you guys recommend?

And yes, this is UGLY!!!!! ;-) But it's all they have of an accident scene, so we're stuck. I told them, garbage in, garbage out. they understand.
I am using mpeg streamclip to do the actual conversion. Are there any other setting you think I should click? -
Iphoto wont sync with iphone "missing file"
I updated to ilife 11 then my iphone would not sync with iphoto. I tried to restore my iphone still will not sync and says it is missing a file.
I created a file on my desktop and put pics so I could have some pics on my phone until i resolve this issue. If anyone could help I would be ever so grateful!1. Go to where your iPhoto Library is stored.
2. R-click and show package contents.
3. Delete iPod Photo Cache.
4. Try syncing again.

AVI files wont read with Mavericks installed
How do it set up the new quicktime 10.7 as the default setting? everytime I open a video it kicks me back to quicktime 10.3 version even though i downloaded the ne 10.7 version.
There is no 10.7 version of QuickTime.You probably mean QuickTime Player version 7 (Utilities folder).
Right click on one of your AVI's and open the Get Info window. From this window you can change the default "Open with" app to QuickTime Player 7 and then click the "Change all" button. -
Mail 2 File scenario - problems with attachments in file receiver

I want to receive PDF documents via email and send them thru file adapter. Now I have some trouble with the attachments. I have configured my mailsender as follows:

How to open V1 files in V2 with no project file
I have an swf output file from a tutorial created in
Captivate version 1. I have no project file, so when I opened V2,
and tried to import the swf as an animation, I receive an error
that it is looking for something called 'root'. I have a link from

happens when you click on the looks, the tutorials are not

In the latest release, when you send an audio clip to Audition, the newly created audio clip - which was previously saved in the same folder as the project file - is saved next to the original audio file.
Makes sense, but for reasons to boring to go into, it's a major headache for my workflow, because it means combing through folders to find the files, instead of having them all in once place.
So how to I turn this off and revert to those files being saved next to the project file?Hey Steve,

Flex file upload issue with large image files
Hello, I have created a sample flex application to upload an image and also created java servlet to upload and save image and deployed in local tomcat server. I am testing the application in LAN. I am able to upload small as well as large image file(1Mb) from some PCs but in some other PCs I am getting IOError while uploading large image files however it is working fine for small images. Image uploading is hanging after 10%-20% and throwing IOError. *Surprizgly it is working Ok with XP systems and causeing issues with Windows7 systems*.
Plz give me any idea to get a solution.

Workaround for this:
Open application in IE and click on certificate error link at address bar . Click install certificate and you are done..
