Motion has the jitters

Hey All,
I am having a major problem getting rid of jittery movement in a motion project. I have a png of a bulletin board with video underneath it that looks like picture frames.

I want to zoom in and set a semi-circular motion path like this:

I have tried setting a motion path using keyframes and by moving the camera, but every time it starts to get the shakes. How do I remedy this?
Here are my computer specs:
2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
10 GB 800 MHz DDR2
NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT
VRAM 512 MB

My HD footage has the jitters..

Hey Gang,
Here's a project, with specifics, that I am still having problems with...It seems that when the motion of objects get upclose, they look jittery and not smooth, characteristics which the original footage does not possess. To hopefully get to the point, here is all the info pertinent to this. I am using the file as a playback to my Western Digital TV Live Plus, which also plays the AVCHD source video perfectly. Oh really? Yeah, I don't have Perian on my machine.....I deinterlaced it thru FEC with the filters command, which has made it look better (before I did this, all my trial exports looked EXTREMELY bad and combed-looking), but not behave better, motion wise as I have described.....I did not deinterlace in the exporting process though....I don't know if that would change anything or not..
I sometimes think maybe it's this WD TV plus, but it plays all my AVCHD source footage perfectly....this is getting frustrating! thanks for the pointers - hopefully something will help me here...

Screen jump back and forth 'jittering' , keyboard pops up and down, keys randomly typing,

HT1430 My mini pad has the jitters. It jumps around within an app. Jumps from app to app. Jiggles. Has anyone else had this problem?

Isn't my question clear enough?
I've tried all the easy stuff. Even taken it to the Apple store where they had never heard of this happening and like the mower that works on the driveway and quits on the grass, it wouldn't act up for them.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
- Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

MBP 13" has the jitters

keyboard and mouse, zooming in and out uncontrollably. highlighting text randomly, shifting placement of text, then more zooming in and out. does same thing regardless of app - can be Safari or Photoshop. Then it goes away for a while. Just had new battery installed. Could that be a cause? Magic Mouse. happens whether using mouse or trackpad. (At the moment it's stable enough to do this post).

Still image with motion has flicker pulsating problem

I use FCP 5.0.4
I have read the many threads about this subject and am still not able to succeed in getting rid of the flicker/pulsating in a still image with motion.
I would say about 25% of the stills with motion have the jitters; all the rest look great.
The first thing I tried was
Effects:Video Filters:Video:Field Shift:none
as well as
Effects:Video Filters:Video:Flicker Filter min, med, and max.
Maybe 5% were corrected with this, but the other 20% still had the jitters even after using a combination of the above or by themselves.
I just burned a test DVD using a variety of the persistently jittery stills from my current project and although the jitters change a bit, they were still there so all of these failed:
1. Effects:Video Filters:Video:De-interlace Upper (odd)
2. Effects:Video Filters:Video:De-interlace Flicker Filter minimal
3. Effects:Video Filters:Video:De-interlace Flicker Filter max
4. Effects:Video Filters:Color Correction:Broadcast Safe conservative 115

I know this issue has been kicked around a lot and i know some folks are not happy that it has to be kicked around at all. But I am doing something wrong because my DVDs look very un-PRO. Would anyone like to talk me through this nightmare preferably with as many details as possible since I am obviously missing something critical.

There is no 'secret formula'. It just takes thinking through the issues.
1. Set the image size for each image that makes sense within the context of your project. Going significantly larger than the displayed area of that image (including movement) is just asking FCP to do additional work to resize the image. FCP is less sophisticated at resizing images than Photoshop. Use Photoshop and your planning of the movie to get the images to the appropriate size.
2. Wasted effort and totally irrelevant- you could set it to 7200 dpi if it makes you feel better.
3. Good idea - be sure to knock down areas of pure or very bright white. These are the elements that will give you the most trouble.
4. Don't do this unless you want to throw away HALF the picture information. Deinterlace deletes half the picture and then photoshop recreates it through interpolation of the remaining half of the picture. Why do this?
5. Make your determination based on what works. If you have properly exposed and sized the material, the need to blur is greatly reduced. ONLY do it on the images that need it. Why degrade every image if you do not need to do so?
6. See number 5
7. Lay out your time line early, view the work on an external broadcast monitor and only mess about with the images that require it.
In the psycho business they have term for much of the referenced post - it's called superstitious behavior. Basically it comes down to "It worked before so we recommend it to everyone without regard to their situation" ... here's another example:
Many years ago in my architecture practice, we had one of the early 512k macs (upgraded from the 128k!) I needed to show one of the interns how to create a project budget spread sheet in Excel. Inadvertently I clicked on Word, said "oops", closed it and opened Excel and we went to work.
A week later I was walking by the computer and overheard the same intern explaining how to work with Excel to another architect. "First you open Word, close it, THEN you open Excel", she explained. When asked by her 'trainee', why do you have to open Word first, wouldn't it just be easier to simply open Excel? Her answer was just perfect, "Well, it works every time, what's wrong with that?" so it goes ...

Is there a way to wake an ipad up by detecting motion with the front camera?

I am using the iPad for an HMI Display To control a machine and want it to be able to wake up from sleep just by detecting motion with the front camera rather than having to push any buttons on the iPad, is this even possible?

No apple store, or Best Buy or anything like that. Again, she lives in a very remote area. The closest stores are roughly 6 hours away. I suppose she can go to a friends house that has a computer but then she is setting up her ipad on someone else's computer. Since she's been able to use the thing out of the box (and without a computer) for over a year, we were just hoping to this without the need of a computer. I guess we will just have to wait for her next visit to us in the city.

Want to know if Premiere Elements has the capability to show movement on a still photo? Such as zoom

I am thinking of purchasing PE 12 if it has the capability to take a still photo and move the camera around on it like many videos I have seen. I am currently using PE 9. Thanks for any help on this subject.

What are you doing in Premiere Elements 9.0/9.0.1?
Are you keyframing the Motion properties of Scale (for Zoom) and Position (for Pan) to get a pan and zoom effect?
or
Are you using the Edit Header/Effects/Presets and one of the presets for a pan OR zoom effect (the Presets allow for only a pan per picture or a zoom per picture but not a pan and zoom per picture).
or
Have you been using the Elements Organizer 9 Slideshow Editor to create a slideshow with the pan and zoom feature there and then transfer the Elements Organizer 9 slideshow to Premiere Elements?
If it is the Premiere Elements 10, 11, or 12 Pan and Zoom Tool that is making you think to laterversion than 9.0/9.0.1, perhaps the following Adobe document may give you more information on that.

Reverse a tween motion from the last active frame

I have a Fade-in/ Fade-out movie that works with the 'alpha'.
It begins on a Mouse_Over and works its way toward 0, but stops and
reverses from
where ever it is at on a Mouse_Out and works it's way back
towards 100. I pretty sure someone here showed it to me -- and it
has been the cats' meow. I'm wondering if Flash will let you do the
same thing with a motion.
I played around a little and replaced the 'alpha' call in the
function with 'motion' and the code stayed blue (which I'm assuming
means that it is acceptable). This would make a REALLY GREAT
function, assuming that it is possible.
I've enclosed the 'alpha' code so that you can see what I am
referring to.
Any thoughts?

I think it's pretty obvious at this point that I'm just
blindly grasping for straws.
Here's what I found last night. It's a piece of code written
in AS2. You can see it here:

It's not my code, so I take no credit for it, but it works. The
movement is actually 2 tweens on the same layer and it doesn't
matter where you are in the timeline, when it hears the 'onRelease'
it exacutes 'rewindTimeline()'. This is pretty much what I'm after
with two execptions.
a) It goes all the way back to the beginning regardless of
whether or not I hit play again.
b) It's written in ActionScript 2 :(

It's helpful, but not easy enough for me to make it work.
I've got three different ActionScript 3 books and none of them make

education came from either this forum or Tutvid.com. College
classes would probably make up the remaining fraction -- and they

Can you still use soft motion without the scan engine on crio?

Where are the trajectory generator property and invoke nodes in softmotion for LV 2011?
These functions are not longer found in the pallet? Are they no longer supported?
All the new soft motion examples are using the scan engine. Can I use soft motion without the scan engine????

Hi Ian,
I apologize that this wasn't stated in the release notes. While your code should have upgraded without breaking, the release documentation should have mentioned that the advanced trajectory genertor functionality is no longer supported. If you still want to use the trajectory generator functions, they are still shipped with SoftMotion, they are just not on the palette. I have attached a zip file that has 4 .mnu files that will get them on the palette. To install these, do the following:
Close LabVIEW
Make a copy of the following directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2011\menus\Categories\VisionMotion\_nism. In case something goes wrong, we will want to have a copy of this directory so that we can replace it.
Copy the 4 .mnu files from the attachement into the above _nism directory (the original, not the copy). If it asks you to replace any of the exisiting files, please do. You don't have to copy the readonly.txt file.
Start LabVIEW. You should know have the trajectory generator functions in your SoftMotion Advanced palette.
Keep in mind that we no longer support these functions. This means that they are not tested in new releases and any bugs will likely not get fixed.
I would recommend that you use the new API for any new designs. You can still get most of the functionality of the old API but without the complexity. If you want to generate setpoints at 5ms then you will run the scan engine at 5ms. This is certainly easier than having to do the timing yourself, but it does take away some control from the user. If you give me a brief overview of what you mean by synchronization, I will let you know the best way to do it with the new API.

I can't quit Safari and my screen has occasional jitters. What's wrong?

My MacBook Pro has developed several symptoms which I am going to guess stem from Mother Board problems.
1 My screen over the last couple of days has spontaneously jittered (not flashed) then the computer crashed. I could move the cursor but nothing else. I had to force a restart.
2 I tried to shut down but now I can't quit Safari.
3 I have 10 dark plumes coming out of the bottom of my screen evenly spaced.
Mother board failure or something else? What would be the best course of action? I am going to force quit again and see if I can get rid of the plumes.

Thank you Andrew. That solved my dark plumes problem. I finally got hold of my son who is very good at computer problems and he suggested that I shut down, remove my battery and disconnect the power supply. Leave it like that for 20 mins or more. Apparently the condensers sometimes get overcharged and cause strange little problems and that can fix them.
I have tried that and so far it is working like it did when it was new. I will work with it for a few days and report back.
It does seem like the dark plumes was a separate issue which you solved.

Slightest motion restarts the computer

Our Mac Pro was in storage for a few years and has been recently dusted off, hoping to get it back to work. Unfortunately, we're finding that the slightest motion (bumping the table, vibrations from walking nearby) is forcing to power off (instantly) and then turn back on.
Any thoughts for next action to take? Is there a way for the computer to report why it's turning off to us?

I thought maybe you wanted to make sure the Riser which can get loose. When Mac Pro first came out MacIntouch/Fixit? reviewed and mentioned that they had to reseat the Riser before it would boot first time, loose in shipping or assembly.

to be clear, my phone works fine when not in motion in a vehicle. If I pull over and come to a complete stop, remaining in the car, my phone works.
And while the phone is not working when I'm in motion, an internet search or a text message will go through, but I can not use Siri or any voice assistance when doing the text message or internet search. The microphone is greyed out.
So this is a unique issue, which appears to be the iPhone and not Verizon.

How do I find out which user has the permission to execute the startsap and stopsap? Do I control the permission on those script using windows standard authorization? For example: only allow certain user have the read and write permission?

Well to me this is really weird question..

If this is valid you do not need to solve problems who can and who cannot start/stop SAP, because if you want to prevent some users from shutting down the SAP you have really hard job to do - there are many ways how to kill the SAP (for example killing relevant process from task manager, killing of database, messing with services etc.) - yes, this is harmful way of stopping SAP, but we are talking about attack, right? I would contact some Windows specialist to help you disable all the ways how to harm the running SAP. But still after that - there are many files that can be modified/deleted so SAP will crash after restart - you need to protect them too, etc.
In case you take the first assumption as granted (and you really limit access to this server) you do not need to worry who can stop or start SAP - at the other hand it may be handy to be able to start/stop SAP from other users - for this you can run the stop/start script "under different user".
But to answer the question - to me this is question just of access control (but really never tried that myself):
