Motion quitting on me

Question

I am running motion 2 (installed as part of Final Cut Studio), here at the University I'm a tech at we use a configuration where each G5 has two 250GB sata's one for o/s and apps, one partitioned 4ways for student work. Everything works fine, all apps, FCP,Soundtrack,DVDstudio,Compressor and Livetype open and work perfectly. Motion however unexpectedly quits every time. It will open when logged onto the admin account, but not from any user accounts. I've tried giving users admin rights with no success, also tried installing motion on the user partitions but it won't let me. My only workaround at the moment is to log students into the admin account, let them do their work and save back to their partion, log out and log back in to user to carry on.......not good!any suggestions gratefully received!

The lovely people at Apple have sorted things out for me. It was an issue relating to the partitions on the second hard drive. It seems motion doesn't like partitions it can't access. On my machines there are 2 physical drives, a single partition system drive and a four partition drive split between four users. Instead of making the three drives not belonging to the user "no access" I was told to make them "read only". Motion now boots from the user accounts. Wonderful! Many thanks to all who helped.
