hi mbeijen, I just noticed that I had an email from you on the Xfinity site. I got the code, tried it and it worked. Thank you so much! As a matter of fact, the technician already set the frontdoor motion sensor to 24-Hour Inform mode, just i didn't know about it. The next thing I need to do is confirming the frontdoor motion sensor would not trigger the alarm.

Just go to the settings, type in the installer code, then enter your initials, and voila When you enter the installer code instead of your main code it will open up the settings with different options. Just remember, if you break it, you own both pieces

Sudden Motion Sensor not working after upgrade to WD5000BEKT HDD

Hi everyone, I just upgraded the hard drive on my Macbook Pro (2010) and I am very pleased with the performance of this 7200rpm drive, I have seen reads around 105MB/s and a pretty good boot time at 23s. But I used to be able to hear the hard drive stop when I moved the computer around before due to the Sudden Motion Sensor technology and since I have the new hard drive in it doesn't seem to work anymore. I have tried switching SMS off and on and it didn't change anything, also the drive is a Western Digital Scorpio Black without Free Fall sensor (I took that version on purpose so it wouldn't conflict with the SMS). Do you have any ideas on how to make it work again? Because I really like this feature on my Mac (I have dropped a laptop before so just in case it happens again). Thanks a lot for your help.

As has been said, Apple's Sudden Motion Sensor is not actually built into the hard drive. In fact, some hard drives with their own version of a sudden motion sensor like Seagate's G-Force Protection actually will set up a conflict with Apple's Sudden Motion Sensor.
I installed the same WD in my Mac as you did, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have been enjoying mine.

Have you notice whether or not the motion sensor
works?
Apparently not (tested with iAlertU for example and with the software from http://www.kernelthread.com/software/ams/ams.html).
Yeah I'd probably take juhs10's advice and give Apple
a call if it's not working. It's a strange
occurrence. I would assume it's a software problem
but I'm not familiar enough with it to say for sure.

Sudden motion sensor not working with replacement harddisk?

I replaced the original harddisk of my Macbook pro (500 GB, 7.200 rpm, model no. HTS725050A9A362) with the retail version of the same harddisk (model no. HTS725050A9A364).
Now I'm missing the typical "click" when the sudden motion sensor parks the heads and I'm afraid it's not working - although "pmset -g" shows "sms 1".
Is there anything else I can check, e.g. enable head parking at harddisk-firmware level?

No, you already admitted you dropped it in water and started having problems after doing so. Have you checked the moisture sensor with a blue-filtered flashlight? Because they will at the Apple Store.
How is your dropping your iPhone in water going to be Apple's fault? Did Steve Jobs knock it out of your hand?

Business Event not triggering the SOA BPEL Process with OA Adapter

Hello Gurus,
I am working on Business event "oracle.apps.per.api.employee.create_employee" and the event is getting triggered when creating an employee from EBS.
The message has come till WF_BPEL_QTAB(I could seeit) and in "READY" status.We have a SOA BPEL Process that is subscribed to the event "oracle.apps.per.api.employee.create_employee" using OA Adapter.
The issue is that the SOA BPEL process is not getting triggered and it is not dequeing the message from WF_BPEL_Q.
Please let me know if I have missed any steps on SOA BPEL side.
Note: Agent Listener is up and running.

Ofcourse, I subscribed to the business event using BPEL. Ideally the instances should be created and I should be able to receive the standard payload.
Yes the JNDIs are correct. We have other business events working in the same fashion and we are using same JNDI.

Why does my ZTE open c Firefox OS smart phone forget the wlan settings and does not ring the alarm?

Sometimes it is even enough to go outside to the waste bin to let my smartphone forget the settings for the wireless lan. When I return I have to enter the - not so short - code from my wlan router again. After that the internet connection is running as it should.
Additionally the alarm clock does not work, I can set alarms as I like, setting the volume to the max and activate also the vibration alarm but nothing happens when the preset time is arrived, even when the alarm clock is shown on the screen the whole time. Is my phone broken? Or is it a bug in my Firefox OS installation?
Where does Firefox OS store these values for wlan connection and alarm times? Is there an internal database that is maybe corrupted?

How do I allow an alarm to be set based on a comparison but then NOT aloow the alarm to clear until a button is pressed?

I have a program that compares DAQ values to a threshold value. If the value surpasses the threshold, an led blinks. The problem is, if the value then goes back below threshold the blinking will stop, as a result of the comparison being False. What I want is to allow the alarm to begin the blinking but not allow it to stop until I press another button, essentially clearing the alarms. I am just flabbergasted at how to accomplish this. Any ideas?

Attached is an example of what I described.
If you turn the dial past 5 the LED will turn ON.
If you turn the dial down (even to 0) the LED will remain ON until you reset the alarm (RESET button).
If you press RESET while the alarm is active, it will only turn OFF the LED when the value is below 5.
You can stop the vi by pressing STOP.

Motion Sensor not working in 10.3.9

I just noticed that my sudden motion sensor (SMS) isn't working. All other topics seem to be about problems on 10.4, but I'm on 10.3.9. The System Profiler shows the SMS to be active, but I tried two freeware apps and niether works. I've had my motherboard replaced in the recent recall as well as the topcase for the sudden sleep problem. Could that be linked? I tried running the Apple Hardware test and it came up clean.

I did find that article when researching the problem, but my profiler already says the SMS is active so it should be working. I wonder if disabling it, then re-enabling it would do anything.
Can't help but wonder if the motherboard replacement has anything to do with this. Or if another odd thing is related. AppleCare insisted, so I did an archive and install when trying to solve my NAP (Narcoleptic Aluminum Powerbook) and soon found my Software Udate wouldn't work from the Finder menu selection (I am able to get the update to run from the System Preferences panel).
Don't know if that helps, but, any ideas?

BP_CONFIRM does not triggers the event properly from call list

We have upgrading CRM 5 to 7.
The issue is. In the IC_AGENT role. When i got to call list and select a call. The corresponding bp is automatically conformed.
But then when i go to Account identification navigation link i can only see the bp confirmed. the vehicle info of the BP are not displayed the view remains the same. normally it displays the vehicle details in the result view.
If i directly search for a BP and conform it all the vehicle detail are displayed in the result views.
It happens only when a BP is automatically conformed by selecting from the call list.
But in both the cases the Method "CL_CRMCMP_B_CUCOBUPA_IMPL->BP_CONFIRM" is triggered ( it is a customer control in CRMCMP_BPIDENT/CuCoBuPa )
the difference i can find is.
if i conform a bp manually from the account identification screen. the CL_ICCMP_AU_VEHISEARCH_IMPL->IF_CRM_IC_EVENT_LISTENER~HANDLE_EVENT is triggered. ( which is inside the "ICCMP_AUTO_VEHI/VEHISearch" ) which displays the required view.
but when the same BP_CONFIRM is triggered automatically from the call list management view it is not triggering CL_ICCMP_AU_VEHISEARCH_IMPL->IF_CRM_IC_EVENT_LISTENER~HANDLE_EVENT. ( which is inside the "ICCMP_AUTO_VEHI/VEHISearch" ).
so i can see the difference in the event listeners of the 2 process.
below is the piece of code which triggers the event. it is in the method "CL_CRMCMP_B_CUCOBUPA_IMPL->BP_CONFIRM" d ( it is a customer control in CRMCMP_BPIDENT/CuCoBuPa )

Business Event not triggering the PLSQL procedure.. What to do?

We need to call a plsql procedure when the GL Approval workflow has ended with approval. I thought i could do this by customizing the relevant business event.
We are on EBS 12.1.3 with RDBMS : 11.2.0.3.0.
I saw that the business event oracle.apps.gl.Journals.journal.approve was disabled currently. I enabled it and created a subscription for it. Subscription was a PLSQL procedure. Currently, for test purpose only thing it is doing is to insert a row into a table.

Using the below query i can see that the business event is getting called when the approval happens (One row added each time approval happened). But I cant see any rows in the table where it should insert a row. What could be going wrong? How can i verify that the procedure has been called?

Changes i made:
1. Added the WFERROR workflow as a subscription to this event. So i could see that the function i am calling from the event did not have proper signature.
2. Changed the function signature to have standard parameters like:

Ticking the 'portal vendor' in SRM not triggering the XML message in SRM?

Dear experts,
I have ticked the 'portal vendor' in the supplier master data in SRM.
I have maintained the output medium as 'XML\XI'.
The 'permit surrogate bidding' button is unticked.
Then, I have saved the supplier master data successfully.
Still no XML message is generated for the supplier transfer to PI in the transaction SXMB_MONI.
Could you please comment what things I should look for?

The XML message was not generated from the SRM system due to missing config details in the 'define system landscape directory' in the SRM system.
Now, The SRM system is generating the XML message for supplier transfer. The PI system is successfully processing the messages. On the receiver side, the SUS system is also successfully processing the message.
However, no supplier is created under the root vendor organization in SUS system. No mail is also triggered. I have also maintained the vendor and porg details in the table 'BBP_MARKETP_INFO'.
Could you please check if anything is needed to trigger the creation of vendor record in SUS?

Is anyone having problems with the iPhone 5 motion sensors?

I having a problem with my phone when it comes to reading movement, the compass doesn't work when it asks to tilt phone to calibrate and in some games it doesn't read when I tilt the phone. I read that apple had a lot of customer complaints about bad motions sensors not be calibrated correctly and I was wondering if anyone else is having/had this problem and what was done to fix it.
