Motion tracking in Premiere Elements 7

Is there any way to do a motion track in PRE7? I've seen it used in Final Cut Pro and PPCS4 so was wondering if there was any other way of doing it with out using key framing?

Here's another ask of you Paul.
I've also seen a tutorial on a guy adding a glow to a wedding shot that he had.  It was a shot of some of the grooms party in a church I think and also a shot of the grooms party outside the church.  The tutorial showed how to bring up the whites on certain areas of the images to glow out the whites and have them shine through ... if you know what I mean.
I forgot to bookmark the tutorial so just wondered if you knew (again) where it may have been from.  A big ask I know but I thought I'd try just in case.

  • Can I use canon eos40d for stop motion capture in premiere elements 9?

I Want too do stop motion capture but when I click get media, the pop up dialog box proceeda as if to import still photos. How do I get the "capture panel" that is talked about where I can select stop motion?  Is premiere elements 9 supposed to work with a still camera like mine for stop motion at all?   Thanks!!'  Kimberley

Thanks for the reply. This is my take on the situation that you describe.
    You wrote
The camera was linked to PC with USB cable and then the software showed on the PC what would normally be in the camera viewfinder.  The enter key on the PC worked as a shutter release and onion skinning worked.  Can premiere elements do this?
That more or less describes the Premiere Elements Webcam experience if Premiere Elements recognized the Webcam.
If you have made a USB connection between the Canon 40D and the computer and you are not getting a Capture Window when you use Premiere Elements' Add Media Webcam or WDM compatible device, then Premiere Elements does not support that simple route. It is my understanding that WDM compatible device represents Windows Driver Model (a framework for device drivers).
I have done some Google searching, and I have found instance where claims have been made for the Canon 40D as a webcam. I post one of these links for informational and non promotional purposes.

Have you explore any utilities that came with the Canon that might supply drivers for the Canon as a webcam?
Have you tried to use the Canon 40D as a webcam with Windows Movie Maker?
Please review and consider. (Also, 9.0.1 Update can be downloaded and installed from the project's Help Menu/Update or obtained online from

  • How can I make a stop motion animation using Premiere Elements 13?

I am trying to make a stop motion animation with a series of still shots. So far I have managed to speed up the shots so that I have one frame per second but this is still not fast enough and I can't work out how to make them go any faster!
I am working on a class project with my 8/9 year olds and the project has stalled at this point because I can't get past this hurdle. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    yogawithlexi,
    Welcome to the forum.
Im also needing to just edit the photos but adding text. Nothing fancy. I just want to make some flyers.
For editing photos, to be output to the printed page (whether by a commercial printing service, or a desktop printer), I strongly recommend Photoshop Elements (PsE).
If you need to output to a video file, then Premiere Elements (PrE) can possibly do what you want, but not for the printed page - at least not easily, and with the ultimate results. First, Video is not dependent on DPI/LPI (Dots Per Inch, or Lines Per Inch), where printed material will be. Also, while PrE can output a Still Image, the quality, when printed, will be far less, than what one can obtain with PsE.
Do you currently have Photoshop Elements on your computer, or only Premiere Elements?
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Is it possible to lock tracks on Premiere Elements 11? Overwriting clips?

    Hi,
From what I can see/have read it is not possible to lock tracks whilst editing on Premiere Elements 11 - is that right?
I am a new user and have been finding that as I'm moving clips around the timeline it seems very unpredictable as to whether the clip slots into place without affecting the position of everything else or whether it creates a cut in the soundtrack leaving an empty space, or whether it just shifts things up.
Essentially I want to know how to overwrite clips (ie. when I drag a clip in, everything else on the timeline stays in the same place)
I'm assuming that this means that there is a method to do all of these things but I appear to have done them all by accident and can't work out the method!
    Any help much appreciated. Thanks!

Holding down the Ctrl key (or the Cmd key on a Mac) as you add new clips to the timeline will keep everything on the timeline in place and override the ripple feature.

  • Can I use Apple Motion with Adobe Premiere Elements?

I am considering purchasing Adobe Premiere Elements 11 and I'd like to purchase Motion as well for special effects.
How well do they work together, if at all considering they are made by different companies.

There wouldn't be any publishing from Motion to Premiere, but you would be able to export a movie from Motion and then use it in Premiere Elements like any other footage.

  • How do I combine audio tracks in Premiere Elements 7?

My audio cable went bad as I was recording a program on my camcorder. It only recorded one track. Is there a way to combine these two tracks or Copy & paste one track to the other?
    Thanks

I think that John pointed you to, and you found, the PrE forum. Just in case, the method will depend.
Do you have one good channel of stereo? Is the other channel good, but empty, or is there noise in it?
If the former, look into the Audio Effect>Fill Left & Fill Right (choose what you need).
In the case of the latter, I'd edit first in an Audio editing program, like Audacity. There are many ways to get the Audio from your AV file into Audacity, but Importing just the Audio is probably the easiest - basically ripping the Audio from the muxed AV file. I believe that Audactiy can do this. I use Adobe Audition, and it does it easily.
Next, you can delete the bad channel, and dupe the good channel, placing it on the other channel. Save_As 48KHz 16-bit PCM/WAV and Import into PrE.
BTW - PrE will combine all Audio onto the Master Track at Export.
    Good luck,

  • Motion Tracking Won't Track Swim

I have a video clip of my son racing at a swim meet and I am trying to use the motion tracking feature but, I can't get it to follow him after he dives and during the race.  I want to be able to highlight which one he is.  Help?!

What version of Premiere Elements and on what computer operating system is it running?
What are you using as the tracking object?
Please supply more details and then I will customize a reply for what you want to do for the program that you have.
The following is a video tutorial demo'd with Premiere Elements 12.

Same principle with Premiere Elements 13/13.1, however users have been reporting problems with the feature in this version.

  • .ts-files with multiple audio tracks / Premiere Elements 12

    Hello forum,
once more I need a little help please.
I've created successfully a few DVD's, and by now I'm a master in creating my own menue templates , but now I have again some problems.
I imported a .ts file which I recorded on my Sat Receiver. This file contains a video track and 2 audio tracks:
    1. German 6-channel AC3,
    2. English 2-channel AC3 (I can add a screenshot of the file info's if needed).
Now my problem is that I only hear some kind of background sound, music and so on, no voices. So not really one of the tracks I mentioned above.
The file works good when I play them with VLC player, and I'm able to chose the 2 languages there.
What I don't really understand is, I created several DVD's with exactly the same file type, I mean the file info's are identical except the lenght differs for a few minutes.
Is there a way to chose the audio track in Premiere Elements like I can chose it in VLC player? Or is there another way to bring the voices in there?
    Thanks in advance,
    Jessie
My system is a Macbook Pro, 16 GB RAM, 2.5 Ghz, Premiere Elements 12

    Hi ATR,
yes, that's what I meant. It worked without problems with a lot of files in different projects. I made a few screenshots, maybe they help to get it fixed.
This is the file that worked fine:
And this is the one that doesn't work:
By now I haven't changed anything in the settings as I don't know what I could change.
The files that worked came out with the german soundtrack, so I assume 5.1 channel.
I'm really out of ideas now :/

  • Using Windows 8 64 bit Premiere Elements 12 , motion tracker gives me the folloing error; The media file seems to have an invalid entry in the catalog, please rename it for use.

    Thanks for the reply.
I checked the link that I posted back in post 3 of your thread. It is working with at least Firefox and Chrome.
ATR Premiere Elements Troubleshooting: PE12: Motion Tracking/What To Use To Track Object?
    What browser are you using?
The blog post contains significant information related to Premiere Elements 12 Motion Tracking. But, if you cannot access it for some reason, then we will need to troubleshoot via communications in the thread.
SG has asked if you are able to create Motion Tracking effect using one of the graphics included with the program. We will watch for your response to him on that question. Please include in your message to him whether you can obtain your file to track the object using Organizer Tab or Project Assets routes as well as Graphics Tab.
The following is an excerpt from the blog post referenced....
    SOLUTION
Various tutorials and online comments have pointed to places other than Graphics Tab where objects can be selected and used to track the moving object in the video when the Motion Tracking workspace is opened in the Expert or Quick workspace.
Organizer Tab, Expert or Quick workspace to access Elements Organizer 12. Cascade Windows and drag a video or photo from Elements Organizer into the yellow track box of Motion Tracking workspace.
Project Assets, Expert workspace. Drag text, video, or photos from opened Project Assets into the yellow track box of Motion Tracking workspace.
Graphics Tab, Expert or Quick workspace. Create a png file (graphic) or prtl file (text) and place it in Clip Arts in the Program Files of the program to have a permanent resource. Then from Graphics Tab, drag the newly created graphic or text object into yellow track box of Motion Tracking workspace.
    Thanks.

  • Premiere elements 13 motion tracking does not track

Motion tracking in elements 13 doesn't work

    renemikkelsen
The frequency of the Adobe presence in this forum is undefined.
Since you have not been able to define a difference between image to be tracked and tracking object in the cases that worked and did not work, what do you think about the following idea to define you situation in terms of Premiere Elements 12/12.1 vs 13/13.1 Motion Tracking feature.
You could download and install the tryout of 12 from the following web site and compare the performance of your 13 Motion Tracking with 12's with the same object to be tracked and same tracking object. You would not have to uninstall 13 to do this. Just use one program at a time.

  • Adobe Premiere Elements 11 motion tracking

where is the motion tracking feacture in PE11

Adobe removed that feature from version 11. There were too many issues with trying to get it to work with every video format.

  • Premiere Elements 9 Motion Tracking Auto to Manual

I seem to be having a problem where I can't switch back over to manual motion tracking.
Okay, so I started up the program and one of my clips required motion tracking. So I added it and a box poped up if I wanted it to be auto motion tracking I said yes, to see how it would do. Of course it wasn't to great at tracking the object so I turned it off then back on it went straight to auto without asking I thought "maybe it is the clip?" so I tried it on a different clip straight to auto again no popup. I then thought "Perhaps a new project?" Same result. "Turn the program off and on?" You guessed it same result so how do I turn it to manual motion tracking?
    Much Obliged

Sorry that replacing the Asset did not work.
By "loop" I meant when a setting cannot be undone, and regardless of the setting, reverts to a previous setting.
As I have not used Motion Tracking in PrE (I use AE for this type of work), I do not know what the next troubleshooting steps would be. I know that Steve Grisetti and Neale, both have used it, so maybe they will have a next step for you.
    Good luck,

  • Motion tracking titles in Premiere Pro CC 2014?

I love the addition of motion tracking to effects in Premiere CC 2014 — but does anyone have a way of using them to track a clip (in my case a title)? I've got a promotional mini-doc I'm working on for a client, and have nice little animated titles popping up next to interview subjects (no lower thirds because there will be subtitles). I think pinning those to a visual element in the background would look great.
I tried putting a garbage matte as an effect on the title, then turning on the tracking feature, and creating a box around the item I wanted the title to track to. No dice.
Anyone have any suggestions, or do I need to go through third party software for this to work?

  • Premier Elements 13 on MAC. trying to use motion tracking. immediately get error "the media file seems to have an invalid entry in the catalog. Please rename it for use."

Anyone resolved this issue?  What is the "catalog".  All I did was import a file (1080/60) and get started.  Everything else seems to work fine.

Assuming you're not shooting in 3D mode, I'm not sure why this is happening.
As long as you're not shooting in 3D mode, this is a standard AVCHD camcorder, which I've done lots of motion tracking with.
Since you manually copied the file from SD card rather than getting the media using Premiere Elements' tools, it is quite possible you grabbed the wrong file. Try this: Plug your camcorder (with SD card in the cam) into your computer via USB and set the camcorder to VTR/play. Then go to Premiere Elements' Add Media/From Flip or Camera and use that tool to get the video from the camera to your computer.
This should resolve your invalid catalog entry issue.
