Motorola H300 bluetooth headset and 3.0

I have a Motorola H300 bluetooth headset. It pairs and shows as connected with my Iphone 3G S. However, it works only with the phone. I understood that the new 3.0 OS would allow bluetooth devices to work with the IPod functions also. Am I correct? Any suggestions as what may be wrong?

I have a hands free earpiece headset I've been using for months. It would stay connected and in standby mode until a call came in — one touch and it would answer a call. I recently got a Insignia stereo Bluetooth headset in anticipation of 3.0 and they work great.
The problem is my hands free earpiece headset also picks up the stereo from the iPod. This headset, will no longer go into standby because it's always connected. I can't listen to my iPod in my car and keep the earpiece on standby as in the past. I now have to completely shut off the earpiece just to listen to music through my car stereo. When a call comes in I have to boot up the earpiece. This takes longer, and while driving, more distracting.
Any ideas on how to keep the iPhone from playing the iPod through my hands free telephone earpiece?

  • Can't get MacBook Pro to recognize Motorola H500 Bluetooth headset

    Hello all,
I am trying to get my MacBook Pro to recognize a Motorola H500 Bluetooth headset. Bluetooth is ON and "discoverable" on my mac. When I go to system preferences and click "bluetooth", then "devices", the headset won't show up (it is turned ON). I tried clicking "Set up new device..." and won't work either.
Any tips on how i can make this work?
    Thanks a lot!

You need to put the H500 into discoverable mode:
    turn it off
hold "call button" for 5 seconds or until the sold blue circle light appears
now go do the bluetooth set up on your Mac....your H500 will show up and then just click thru continue....

I recently upgraded from an iPhone 4s to an iPhone 5.  I have a Motorola HX550 Bluetooth Headset which worked flawlessly with the iPhone 4s.  However, since upgrading to the iPhone 5, I frequently lose audio when in the middle of a call.  I am not certain whether it is a full disconnect or just an audio loss.  The person on the other end reports still being able to hear me, however, I suppose they could hear me speaking over another source even if bluetooth disconnected. The loss of audio is always preceded by a quick shrill noise, so I can easily tell when it happens.  All I have to do to fix the problem is to select Audio Source on the call screen, temporarily switch audio back to the iPhone, and then switch back to the headset, and then it starts working again.
Is is important to note that I am not the only one experiencing this issue:
This is a link to someone using the Motorola H19txt headset experiencing the same issue
    https://forums.motorola.com/posts/94ac15ad7c
If you go to the Plantronics website and look at the "Ratings and Reviews" on the Voyager Legend you will see the same issue reported:
http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/voyager-legend (next paragraph is taken from the review since there is no direct link to the review.
Really nice Headset unless you own an Iphone 5. I own several Plantronics headsets and have always loved the quality/ performance. This headset seems not to be compatible with the new Iphone 5. In the middle of a conversation it will lose all incoming audio. This leaves you trying to switch audio sources really fast in order not to lose your phone call. Ive tried 3 legend headsets and they all do the same thing. Hopefully this gets fixed soon because the headset is really nice
Since this issue appears to affect multiple headsets from multiple vendors, I think it is fair to conclude that it is an issue with the iPhone5 bluetooth itself.
I am posting this as a new discussion as I don't see any other posts specific to this iPhone 5 Bluetooth issue.  I would have reported this as a problem to Apple, but don't seem to be able to find a way to do this on the web.  Hopefully they are already aware, but if not, maybe they will see i here.

here is an interesting thing: take the iphone and set lock screen to never. Now make an email with siri--be sure to activate her with call button. get to the body and get some text in there. then just stop talking. LOCK SCREEN APPEARS!!!!!! and of course you draft is gone.
There does seem to be a work around for some--maybe all these issues. Don't use the call button--use the buttons on the phone.
Siri seems to behave properly with scenerio above---sans call button. She does not go to lock.

  • Motorola Hz800 Bluetooth headset shorts out MBA Bluetooth Module when plugged into MBA USB port for charging

This is the weiredest thing.  Everything is fine with my MBA, I have an apple bluetooth keyboard and mouse running smoothy then I plug in my Motorola HZ800 bluetooth headset using a USB to mico USB cable to my MBA to charge it and BAM! I get a the bluetooth logo with a sawtooth wave through it.  It shuts down the bluetooth module completely. I have to restart the computer to bring back the bluetooth module to life. And now my keyboard won't pair again, but that's a whole other issue.  Any reason why this would be?  Thanks.

Yes.  USB ports are limited to a maximum of 500 ma of current.  Check the current rating on the charger for your headset.  It is probably higher than 500 ma.  It overloads the port forcing it to shut down.

  • Does this Work With Iphone? MOTOROLA S9 BLUETOOTH HEADSET

I have heard that this works with Iphone? MOTOROLA S9 BLUETOOTH HEADSET ...does anyone know if it truly does or do you all know of a headset (over the head or behind the neck) one that does?
< Edited by Host, for your protection, no personal information please. >
    Thanks
    Bill

I was in a wireless store when I inquired to a manager about this product (S9 Motorola Bluetooth Wireless Headset), and asked if it worked with both the iPod and phone capabilities of my iPhone....to which this manager replied that she knew for a fact that she had read on the apple support forums that this product did, in fact work with both music and phone functionality, once paired.
I believe now that she was using this tactic to make more apple-endorsed-sales of this headset, and therefore get more commissions for her store. I mean every employee in the store was wearing them and toting that they worked flawlessly when asked, it was disgusting now that I think of it.
I called the store back up and asked to speak to that manager again, and she maintained that what she read was in fact true, even when I told her that I found that the iPhone does not currently support this headset's bluetooth technology, and that possibly what she read was that once paired the headset works with the phone part of the iPhone but not the iPod part.....she railed that she was correct and that what she read supported both, in spite of all evidence to the contrary, here on apple's support forums.
I think that wireless company employees with a new product that they cannot officially confirm compatibilities, should not go unchecked for spreading misinformation, merely to promote sales for walk-ins...its really terrible, especially on the biggest day of the shopping year and all the hype already created and money put into incentives to rush sales.
Don't believe the hype. Even the phone capability of the S9 headset is not stereo for the iPhone. Really not worth over a $100 for this kind of minor functionality.

  • Motorola H550 Bluetooth Headset

I am having an issue with my Motorola H550 Bluetooth Headset. I have paired it with the iPhone and it paired with no problems but when I turn off my headset then turn it on at a later time I am finding myself unpairing and re-pairing the headset to get it to work. At times it shows up as just the title name "Headset" instead of saying "Motorola H550" paired.
    Any Suggestions? Ideas?

    Vincent,
I had similar experiences with a Plantronics 640 and Jabra 500. Sometimes it would show "Headset" othertimes it would have the full model number.
As long as I kept them within range of each other, they seemed to stay paired and available. But, if the phone got far enough away to lose contact with the headphone, I had to unpair and repair. (At least that is my working theory).
Sometimes, pushing the on/off button a couple of times on the headset would get it to show up on the AUDIO choices panel again. You might try that.
But, it is less than elegant. Now this might be something that gets addressed with an iPhone software update down the road. It sounds like it is a common enough occurrence. We'll just have to wait.. and see.
    Best,
    Jim

  • Motorola H721 Bluetooth Headset

I'm using the iphone 3g and i am using a motorola h721 bluetooth headset on it, and i gotta tell you it works perfect with the iphone with no static at all just perfect and it wont cost you much like other headsets.

If you call yourself on a land line and start talking on both devices on the same time, are you able to hear yourself from the land line? Try talking a bit loud, try a long, loud "ooo"; most headsets have issues with the iPhone on this test.

The Apple BT headset? Did you press and hold the button for a few seconds? A set of rising tones indicates power on. The light only lights up when connected to the power cable (orange when charging, green when charged).

I have Sunglasses Bluetooth Headset and Apple Iphone 4, I Can Communicate Calls Using Headset. But I can't Listen Musics Using Headset.

The iPhone supports the following Bluetooth profiles. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3647
In order to play music through the headset, it must support this particular profile, A2DP.  You can check the specs on the headset to see if it does support that. Not all headsets that support phone calls will support music.

  • I have a 3GS. Am trying to sync a plantronics explorer 232 Bluetooth headset and can't figure it out. I have Bluetooth turned on but it searches for devices and the headset never shows up. Anyone know exactly how to do this?  My tech skills are lacking

I have a 3GS. Am trying to sync a plantronics explorer 232 Bluetooth headset and can't figure it out. I have Bluetooth turned on but it searches for devices and the headset never shows up. Anyone know exactly how to do this?  My tech skills are lacking

I have the same blueparrott headset headset with the directions. Actually reading them just fixed my iphone pairing issue.
Here they are in case u still need them along with what I needed to do to get mine to work with iphone 4
    Pair Headset with Phone
    Turn off headset off
Hold down headset's MFB (large top button) until red & blue lights flash and you hear 2 rising tones, followed by 4 more tones. Must wait for all before you release the MFB button!! (I had my hubby hold the MFB while I waited for the tones since both come from the headset
Release the MFB and follow your phone's instructions to place it in 'bluetooth' discoverable mode.  With the iphone4, go to "General" and then "Bluetooth" and turn indicator to "ON".
This is where my issue occurred as the phone could not find the bluetooth, although it worked with my LG phone.  So after trying it several times thinking I was nuts and that the issue was with the iphone, I looked further in the blueparrot's directions and found this step that fixed the issue.
    Reset Paired Devices List
On the bluetooth, press and hold down both the volume up & volume down buttons for 5-6 seconds.  A double beep will be heard and the list will be reset.  Pairing info for devices previously paired will be lost.
The bluetooth directions provide this as step 4 but that did not work for my phone (see below)
    4. Once the phone discovers the headset, select "pair" and enter "0000" code and that when pairing is complete the blue light on the headset will stop flashing and phone will prompt you to 'connect'.
This is what I had to do after resetting the device list on my bluetooth
    4. My iphone instanting discovered the headset and displayed it under 'Devices" but showed a message that it was 'not connected'.  Once I selected the device on the iphone by pressing on it then it changed to "connected".
Even when I turn the bluetooth on and off the device remains on the list and alll I do is select it to connect and disconnect after I turn on my blueparrott bluetooth
    I hope this helps others!

  • Nano 6th generation I attached the motorola D650 bluetooth adapter and it says unsupported device... Any suggestions?

Nano 6th generation and i connected the motorola D650 bluetooth adapter and it says unsupported device?  Any suggestions, this should work as Apple told me it would and instruction manual for headphones specifically mentioned Ipod.
    Thanks

I've heard that there are some Ipod adapters out that will work with this trick but it would be nice if anyone knew a way to make this adapter work. I think it is a popular trick since the adapter from oakley that does work is now on back order.

  • Skype reverts to speaker after pc restart from Bluetooth headset and its mic.

I have set Skype for Windows to automatically switch to Bluetooth headset and its microphone when is on and when headset is off to switch back to speakers. But after pc restart it switches to speakers. What should I do?

Yeah this is the same problem I had. Just go and get a replacement.
Dont think too much about other solutions. Its apple's headache not ours.
But I enjoyed the 1 week testing I did on the first phone I got. For me with bluetooth paired phone it was exactly from the second call and if its wired headset that is connected, then from the third call you make, there wont be any audio (goes to the speaker). Clearly a software bug, but just confused why not all phones have this issue.

  • Will my Motorola H681 Bluetooth Headset work with my iPhone 3G?

  • Motorola S9HD Bluetooth headset complete functionality?

When I heard that Apple had finally installed Bluetooth capacity to the iPhone I ran out and purchased one (3G). For me the ability to use wireless headphones was a must. However, apparently their implementation of Bluetooth isn't complete because on my headphones the forward/backward, start/stop keys don't work. I searched for solutions but to date haven't been able to find out if the iPhone truly DOESN'T support full functionality of these S9HD headphones or, if I'm missing something or need to modify something in order to get them to work.
    Does anyone know the answer?
AND, if these headphones don't work on the iPhone, WHEN is Apple going to correct this problem? I mean seriously, this standard has been in effect for more than a year prior to iPhone's existence!

What did you use for the "passkey" (or PIN) number during the pairing process? I'm trying to get a Motorola H350 (Bluetooth 2.0) headset working with my iPhone. It is detected and recognized, but rejects "0000" as the passkey.
I'm confused, since this is what the Motorola docs say to use and also what the Apple headset uses. Any help on what you got to work would be greatly appreciated!
    Cheers...
