Motorola Input Disappeared

I downloaded ICS earlier this week on to my Droid 4. The "Select Keyboard" notification kept popping up and it was annoying me, so I looked around on line to see if there was a way to make it stop. Someone suggested disabling the "Motorola Input" app, so I did that. Later, after I had restarted my phone for something else, I decided I wanted to enable the app again, but when I went to do it, it was GONE! Can't find it anywhere on the phone and it no longer shows up as an option in the Language Input area of Settings. Does anyone know how to get this back on my phone? Thank you!

Thank you for responding. Unfortunately, I have tried that several times and it's not listed in the apps at all. It goes right from "Motorola Dock Service" to "Motorola Services." I went to the Verizon store today and the guy there said once you've disabled it, it's gone, but that seems crazy to me. Seems like there's a big difference between disable and delete.

i have a text field in my app and when i edit it on my motorola phone a small box comes up on the bottom of the screen with the label and lets me input a value. is there a way to display that with a command without having a text field displayed on the screen? thanx in advance for the help

Cable Between Physical Input and Seq. Input Disappears By Itself

Today, inexplicably, while recording routine MIDI overdubs on a cue, I suddenly lost MIDI thru from my master keyboard thru Logic to my MIDI racks. MIDI tracks played fine, but no MIDI thruput.
Tested the MIDI interfaces, AMS, rebooted the computer and the interfaces, all the usual stuff. Couldn't find any reason why I suddenly lost thruput.
It was only because I was at my wit's end that I decided to look at the Clicks and Ports Layer in the Environment to see if anything "somehow" got weird. And sure enough... the cable between the Physical Input and the Sequencer Input had disappeared. Gone. Vanished. Deleted.
How this could have happened without my deliberately going into the Environment, selecting the Clicks and Ports Layer and purposely deleting the cable connection is totally beyond me. This has got to be one of the weirdest behaviors I've seen. And just remember everyone, "weird" is an anagram for "wired" which, unfortunately, proved not to be the case.
Anyone else ever have this happen? Any ideas as to what might have caused this?

I've thought along these lines too, surmising that: items (or data) which were selected/highlighted in various windows at various times were somehow still subject to such actions as Delete, Cut, or Clear, despite the fact that those windows were currently closed. Now, I rarely (closer to "never") have need to visit the Clicks/Ports layer of the Environment, let alone tinker with the connection between phys input and seq input such that that cable might ever remain in a "selected" or "highlighted" state to begin with.
But in an effort to troubleshoot the missing cable scenario according to this theory, I deliberately highlighted the cable, closed that window, and continued working. I was hoping that at some point during normal editing operations I might lose my MIDI thruput again (because it got cut/deleted/cleared in association with a cut/delete/clear operation of another event or object) and then backtrack through the Undo History hoping to discover what operation caused it.
Well, 1.5 days later, after intensive editing of the same sequence (which ended up becoming quite complex) the cable stayed intact! So to a certain extent I think perhaps my theory is wrong, but I'm keeping an open mind.
But something valuable came out of this... considering LPH/David's information, I think that from now on I'm going to eliminate the physical input and sequencer input objects from my environment; they've proven to be a liability. And it's easy enough to add them to a song in the event I want to do some MIDI processing on Logic's input side.
I'd like to respond to your thoughts on floating windows in a separate post.

Language input disappears after reboot

Hi,
Has anyone noticed this? After enabling Chinese language input, after rebooting, the option will disappear, and I will haev to add it back again.
It is very annoying and seems to have happened after the 10.8.3 update.
I am running a Mac Pro, 5,1, 12-core 2.4, 28GB RAM.

I made a test on my computer and added to my kyeboards (German, French, Russian) the "Chinese Simplified". After restart everything was as expected. How did you upgrade to Mountain Lion. Did you made a clean install?
What happens, if you start with Shift? Does the Chinese keyboard is in the menu?

Input disappears by "QM01"

Hello!
I call the transaction "QM01" type in
Notification type "F2" (Vendor Error) and
type in Notification number (because external number assignment).
After entering into the first screen you can type input
any material number into the field Material. And now if I
I press the "Enter-Key" the material number which I have
typed in one second ago disappears. What is wrong. This
situation appears also on changing of tabstrips e.g.
from "Reference object" to "Subject" and s.o. Is that normal ?

Soun port input disappears from dialogue box after 10.6.4 update

Title says it all really.
Selecting the sound port input has become impossible after installing 10.6.4. I can set it to work as an input in teh control panel - but it is not then shown in the list of devices that I can select within the app.
I was using it yesterday - then installed 10.6.4 and now it has gone.
As this is VITAL to my use of the mac I hope this can fixed easily otherwise I will have to downgrade.

I'm not sure if I am having the same issue. My mic input was working fine, then all of a sudden it stopped. I am trying to find the command "Use audio port for sound input"? Is this the command that you have found to be missing? If so how or what did you change to go 32 bit/64 bit. I can't seem to locate that command in my system>sound setup. Thanks

Why did my Chinese input disappeared in Input Source and Keyboard Preferences?

I was using Chinese input fine up until last night. It disappered all of a sudden this morning from the Input menu. I also couldn't find it in the System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Input Sources. Can someone please help me to get it back? I have OS X 10.9.1. Thanks~

I deleted ~/Library/Preferences/*.plist from my user account but the problem still exists

MIDI input disappearing

I have just upgraded to a new MacBook Pro (15" 2.2GHz i7) and Apogee Ensemble and to Logic Pro 9 (was on 7 before). My master keyboard is an M-Audio Keystation Pro 88, which I access and power via USB.
I am having a problem where Logic (or Reason) respond to the Keystation as expected for a number of minutes, then stop. The only remedy I've found is a restart (Quitting and restarting Logic or opening Reason doesn't help.).
Any ideas? Could it be that I'm powering the keyboard from the USB bus?

That, and hub having its own power supply. Which adds another cable/power plug nightmare to the stash.... Still, I think I had problems plugging two devices - I have a KeyRig and LPD8. Maybe I should just stop buying cheap stuff.

Thanks, I'll try that tip. I read somewhere about it, but I just don't get it. USB shuts down, but the device still receiving power? Cause the little blue lights, or whatever, stay on all the time. And, as Mr. Scott said, it does happen even in the middle of playing.
I had problems plugging in both aforementioned devices at the same time though. They couldn't work together. Even replugging one while the other was plugged in meant that Windows couldn't recognize it. That does suggest a power problem. I think I had some success with a powered USB hub, but can't remember - for some reason it wasn't perfect either.
Oh yes, I remembered - no spare power plug. But it worked, I guess, but I had to relocate the hub, which meant all the stubborn cables with it. It's a lot of mess. So do USB hubs have more power than built in USB? Even on Mac? Or is it something about power management?

Input in Find-page disappears

When navigating back from a Result page to its Find page the orginal query input disappears.
Is there an easy way to keep this input for refining queries? Or is this something for our wish list?

Are you using UIX or JSP? I am assuming UIX, because of your other question.
If you navigate back to the Find page using the tabs, you are right that the search values are gone (you could request an enhancement for it), but if you go back using the browser's back button, the search values are still there.
Could that be a solution for you?

Character input disaplay after " " when show up in af:outputFormatted

When I input text after "<" in text field and save it in database varchar2 column. It is found that all character disappear after "<" when I retrieve it with af:outputFormatted. If I retrieve it with outputText. It can show up properly.
For example, I input <abc> in the text field. I then the retrieve character from database. All the text <abc> disappear.

hence, what can be done to fix it if I just input <abc> instead of <abc>

Help Please Line IN disappeared

i have recorded a few tracks with my guitar going straight into my computer. Never any midi. About a month ago my line in under preferences-sound-input disappeared and all i get internal microphone, i tried everything i could think of. Today at the local music store I purchased a presonus audio box usb thinking i could just connect that to my computer and not have to worry about the line in.. Now under preferences-sound- i see the audiobox usb is listed. The audiobox is on, everything plugged up but the computer is still using the internal microphone. What am I doing wrong? beyond frustrated.. thanks

Report Generation broken after deployment - Excel Set Cell Color and Border.vi

Upon deployment, the Excel Set Cell Color and Border.vi became broken. After installing LV2010 SP1 to view the VIs in the deployment, I noticed that in the second case structure where the code draws the border using the BorderAround invoke node, there is an extra variant input parameter named 'Parameters'. Upon right-clicking, an option to 'Relink Invoke Node' appeared and after selecting this, the extra input disappeared and the VI was no longer broken.
Why does "Relink Invoke Node" appear? How do I create a deployment with this issue? Has anybody else experienced this? Why is the TestStand deployment so buggy?

I have set up a test deployment here where I am deploying a workspace that contains a sequence file. This sequence file has a LabVIEW Action Step calling a VI that opens a new Excel file and simply calls the Excel Set Cell Color and Border VI. After deploying this, both the VI and my test sequence ran on the deployment machine without error. Therefore, I do have some more questions to more accurately reproduce what you are seeing.
First, what operating systems are you developing on and deploying to? Also, what license do you have for TestStand on the machine you are deploying to? If you have a development version, can you manually take the sequence file and VI to this machine and run it? I know you now have LabVIEW 2010 SP1 on your development machine, but if you have the development version of TestStand as well, it would be interesting to see if you copy the files over if you still see this behavior. Are you including the TestStand Engine in the deployment?
Can you open a blank VI on the deployment machine and add the Excel Set Cell Color and Border VI? It would also be interesting to see if this is not a product of the deployment, but rather an issue with something on the deployment machine itself. What version of the Report Generation Toolkit do you have on each machine? Also, what versions of Excel are you using on the development and deployment machine? Again, it would be helpful for me to know exactly what versions you have installed on both the development and deployment machines so that I can reproduce this as accurately as possible.
One last thing to try, too, would be to try deploying the VI by itself just to see if it also has the same behavior. Do you have the Application Builder in LabVIEW? If so, could you also try building an executable from the VI, create an installer, and deploy this to the deployment machine?
In regards to the "freezing" of code by removing the block diagrams, I do not believe this will be a proper work around in this case. While this removes the block diagram from actually being deployed along with the VI and restricts users from editing the code on the deployment machine, if something is getting changed in the compiled code upon deployment, this will not stop this from happening. This option is available more as a memory option to lower the size of the deployment as well as prohibit any users on the development machine from editing the block diagram themselves.

Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro and Inspire T7700 does not recognize Mic on Audio Control

Hi folks,
I decided to hook up my headphone and mic sets to the Audio Control Pod for the first time recently to chat online. I'm not sure if I ever tried this when I bought the Inspire T7700 speaker system, but I cannot seem to get any voice to come through in Windows' Sound Recorder (the headphones work fine). I'm hoping that someone here can help...otherwise, I suppose I'll have to find an alternate solution than using my soundcard system.
Here are some specs:
OS: Windows XP SP2 and all current updates
Soundcard: Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro
Speakers: Inspire T7700 with Audio Control Pod (contains the headphone and mic jack)
Here's what I have tried:
. Updated drivers to: SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006.exe
2. Tested headsets and mics out on another one of my computers with a SoundBlaster Li've. They work fine.
3. Set each audio source with full volume in the Recording Control window as the source while recording in Windows' Sound Recorder (I know some of these aren't right, but I tried them all nonetheless):
- MIDI Synth
- Line-In 3
- Line-In /Mic (this should be the one, I think)
- S/PDIF-In
- Auxiliary (this might be the one for the Audio Control Pod)
- "What U Hear"
- Line-In 2
- CD Digital
- Wave
4. Installed the Creative software from the official CD to manage the audio and speaker settings. Retested the same as item 3 above within this software. Same results.
5. Disconnected the external I/O hub (since I am connecting to the Audio Control Pod, which connects to the speaker system and then my sound card). Interestingly, the Line-In /Mic input disappeared. All that I saw for an input (I believe) was Auxiliary. I tried even that as noted in item 3, but nothing.
Has anyone had any luck in getting a mic from a headphone set to work with the Audio Control Pod for the Inspire T7700 speaker system along with the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro?

Read the FAQ on top of the soundcard forum concerning SPDIF and digital out. The reason is very easy to find out if you read that. In short: the digital out can only send out a PCM stereo signal (which is why you only get FL/FR sound) and an encoded AC-3 signal.

PDF Preview Issue

I am not sure where to post this, so feel free to tell me if there is a better spot.
I have a simple issue, I was sent a .pdf file that has text boxes where I can input information. After filling them out, I obviously want to save. When I save however, Preview informs me that I need to Save As a copy or .pdf information will be lost. It gives me no other option, so when I do this and reopen the document all the text I have input disappears. Is there a way to save the text that I input? I understand that normally text can't be saved in a .pdf, but for the file I need to fill out, there are obvious text boxes that look like I can input text and save it.
Simple issue, but I can't figure it out. Really appreciate any help.

Try "Print to PDF" from the "PDF" button at the bottom-left of the "Print" dialog window. If that won't work, you can install a virtual printer using CUPS-PDF

Japanese language option crashes in Firefox

Hello,
first I have updated Firefox (version 3.6.10).
So here's the problem: after a while (can't tell you if that's a few minutes or an hour) Firefox does not offer me the language options that I have my Mac set up for (English, German and Japanese). What happens is that Japanese support/input disappears from the options in firefox and I have to restart the whole thing in order to correct for that. That's very annoying for I do write in Japanese a lot.
This problem does not happen in Safari or generally in OS X - it's really just in Firefox that the Japanese language input support crashes...why? I have not been able to find any answers on the net .
I will be most grateful for your help.
