Motorola s9-HD pause/play worked then didn't

Am currently using the headset with my iPad but this happened with my Touch as well.
When I initially set up the s9-HD with my phone and then the iPad the pause/play button worked no problem. I was trying out a different phone so repaired everything, didn't like the bluetooth reception on the phone i was trying so reset the headset and paired it again with my original phone and then iPad.
Now the pause/play button doesn't work any more.
I have looked at the Motorola forums for s similar issue and haven't found any answers.
Any ideas?

As was already pointed out in this thread, the iphone has never had full bluetooth capabilities ... so it is nothing to do with the S9-HD headphones. All that you could do with any bluetooth headset and an iphone was to 'play and stop/pause'.
The ios 4.1 (release date Sept 8th) will include AVRCP (AVRCP is the mechanism which allows bluetooth headsets, or car dashboards to take full control of the audio functions of the devices they are connected to.)
So most of this thread is moot.

Somehow I have push a wrong button. Logic doesn't provide output to my headphone output on a G5. It is not the OSX preferences as itunes still works fine.
Logic Express 8 worked as I wanted and then it didn't. Clearly user error. But I don't know what.

Pause/Play with Touch 3G

I have a iPod video 5G which I use mostly for audiobooks. My wife has a Touch 3G. She also listens to audiobooks, but has to fiddle with the thing everytime she wants to pause it. She can double-click the 'home' button, but that only brings up a pause/play 'menu', then she still has to fiddle with the thing to actually to the pausing or playing. If someone needs to talk to me while I'm listening, all I need to do is reach down to my old iPod 5G and click the pause/play - - I don't have to look at it - it couldn't be simpler. Not so with my wife and her Touch - sometimes I think it should be called the "look, fiddle, & touch."
The simple solution would be to make it so that double-clicking the 'home' button would instantly pause (and double-clicking again for play), as well as bring up that menu. Adding the Volume buttons was a big step forward, but they need to change this.
I guess I'm wondering if anyone has any good solutions to this hassle or if there might be an app the would do it? I admire her Touch and would buy one in a heartbeat if they made this one simple fix!

Her iPod Touch 3g came with Apple earbuds with a microphone. Use those earbuds since there are controls where the microphone is. Push the center button and iPod Touch will pause. Push it again and it will start from where it was paused. It also has the foward and backward advance buttons.

Pause/Play functionality not working with publish to HTML5

Hi experts,
I am creating a Captivate course to be deployed on iOS and publishing to HTML5. We are using custom buttons (not playback controls) for navigation to advance through the slides. My client would also like Play/Pause functionality for some of our embedded (MP4) videos. I used the following tutorial to create these buttons to toggle the Play & Pause functionality:

This worked PERFECTLY when previewed in a browser from Captivate, but does not work when published and launched in HTML5 format, from the same browser. I didn't use any Flash content, rollover functionalities, or anything noted in the limitations list for HTML5 output. The conditional functions I have set for my buttons are:
PAUSE:
Hide > SPI_Pause
Show > SPI_Play
Assign > cpCmndResume with 0
Assign > cpCmndPause with 1
PLAY:
Assign > cpCmndPause with 0
Assign > cpCmndRsume with 1
Hide > SPI_Play
Show > SPI_Pause
The issue I am encountering is that the video completely pauses itself the moment the pause button displays on the stage (no matter where I place it in the timeline). I'm not pressing it or anything, it just initiates the cpCmndPause function and disregards all the others I have set. From there the conditional sequences are rendered useless as the video is already paused even though I didn't press the button. I've verified this happens anywhere I try to use the cpCmndPause function.
I am running Captivate 6.1.0.309 on Mac OSX 10.8.2. I've tested the HTML5 output in Chrome and Safari with the same results. I did see a thread regarding a patch install (for 6.0.1xxx) that resolved some issues, but this appears to be an earlier version of what I have installed so this should have been resolved with my install?
Please HELP!

So, was this issue NOT resolved with the patch, or is this an entirely new/different issue?
It seems as though this functionality is pretty basic, so I don't understand why this is a restriction with HTML5 output? Please advise, if there are restrictions with advanced actions that are not noted in the HTML5 limitations documentation, then they should be.

Tastatur multimedia keys, only pause, play does'nt work

i hope u can help me. My apple tastatur works fine, but the multimedia keys pause, play, next title doenst work - the other keys are working. I reseted and reconnected the tastatur without reason.
any idea for me?

before I received your new Info about Fn+Insert , I had once more checked Fn-F7 : no effect in the BIOS.
I have also tried all non-character keys plus the "Umlaute"-keys on the German keyboard with the following result:
The key right of the "0" shifts boot device entries down in the list.
On the German keyboard this key is labelled with " ß ? \ ".
The next key on the right and left of the "Backward-Erase"-key, labelled with " ´ ` ",
pressed together with the Shift-key, moves list entries up.
Using these keys I have then set the Boot device sequence according to your suggestion :
1: USB CDROM
2: USB HDD
3: HDD
My USB-Memory stick (with BartPE installed) had been recognized as a USB HDD.
After saving with F10 and <Return> the Netbook responded with a Beep and nothing further happened.
I had to switch it off with a long press on the Power Button.
Switched on again, <F2> pressed, BIOS checked,, o.k. <ESC>,
loads Ramdisk image of BartPE from the USB-stick,
starts BartPE with XPE.
Checking available drives in the Windows Explorer resulted in :
RAMDISK ( "B:" )                (used by BartPE for temporary storage)
USB ("C:")                        (the USB-stick with the BartPE-iso file)
"Wechseldatenträger / Removable storage device"           obviously refers to an unused USB-Port
-volid ("X:") "CD-drive"    but actually another Ramdisk containing the expanded and running BartPE package
The internal harddisk is not visible !
I wonder whether this is a problem of the BIOS or whether I require special harddisk drivers (Intel Matrix Storage manager/driver or possibly AHCP drivers) for Windows XP, because my present BartPE version is based on XP, while the Netbook came with Windows 7 Starter Edition.
Further helpful hints would very much appreciated.

My Bose SIE2i volume control does not work. (pause/play does work). This is the secone set - the apple store in Sydney replaced the firsat set that had the same problem. It was working OK and has stopped.

Thanks again V.K. I did check the layout, and it was listed as alphabet when I inputted the password. So that doesn't seems to the the issue.
Just finished a truly mystifying experiment, but I put in a shorter password in the way mentioned earlier and it worked. I then systematically kept increasing the characters of that password and it seems that if the password starts to exceed about 16, it stops recognizing it. I am fairly sure it is not the password itself since it never gives an error when typing in the verification password. So unless I systematically make the exact mistake twice at the setup screen, and then don't or make a different mistake every time at the login screen, I don't think its my typing skill.
So problem solved for now, but I am still a bit worried. Maybe I should completely reinstall and use a shorter password.
Is there supposed to be a length limit?

If you successfullt restore to factory defaults/new iPod and still have the problem then it is likely a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

IPhone does not work with IPOD Dock to select next song / pause - play

After using the iPhone at the gym, the IPhone quit working using the remote for the Docking station to navigate to next song nor pause / play. Suspect Iphone connector....
Also the iMuffs Headset bluetooth adapter that plugged into the iphone connector quit working. Tested iMuffs bluetooth connector on another iPhone and is still functioning.
any ideas?? clean connector?? short?? service??
Note, the iPhone still syncs with iMac via docking port (USB). So the connector is not totally bad.

Have you tried a reset...and if that doesn't work ..a restore? Back up your phone before you restore.

Try assigning Queen as the Album Artist on the compilations in iTunes on your computer.

If you have songs on your iPad or iPhone that restarts or skips during playback, I would suggest that you troubleshoot using the steps in this article -
iOS: Songs or other audio content are skipped during playback

Try resetting it: hold the on/off and home buttons 10-20 seconds until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the off slider that appears first, then release.

Try A and B
(A) Restart iPad
1. Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
2. Drag the slider to turn off iPad.
3. Turn iPad back on, hold down the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears
(B) Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

Allowing the Pause / Play buttons to work with VLC player

I would like to use my pause / play buttons when I am using VLC player. I use VLC player to watch many movies, but I still use iTunes to play music, so I was wondering if there was a way to switch which application my play / pause button controls. Right now, even if VLC player is open it will only control iTunes.

Under VLC preferences look for the options "Control with media keys" and "...when VLC is in background".
