Motorola v545 no longer syncs with version 2.4

Hello everyone,
I have a Motorola V545, and had over the last couple of OS updates, managed to get iSync to recognise my phone following some excellent instructions on this forum. These are:
1. Open a finder window and browse to the Applications directory (and quit iSync if it's running).
2. Command-click on iSync and select "Show Package Contents"
3. Go to Contents/Plugins/ApplePhoneConduit.syncdevice/Contents/Plugins/PhoneModelsSync. phoneplugin/Contents/Resources/MetaClasses.plist
4. Do a find for V600 and change all instances of "V600" to "V545".
5. Duplicate the MOTV600.tiff image and rename MOTV545.tiff
6. Fire up isync and add a new device
This worked perfectly until the latest OS update. Previously, I think I was running version 2.2, now it is 2.4. Now, when I ask it to add a new device, it says 'No devices found'.
When following the instructions, it changed 8 instances of v600 to v545 - the same amount as previously, as best I can recall.
Does anyone know why this no longer works, or what I have to to get my phone recognised?
Many thanks.

I think I fixed my problem with iSync 2.4 not working after the 10.4.9 update... then found another problem which also seems fixable.
The following were other steps I tried first, which didn't fix the problem but might be tried if the solution below doesn't work on its own:
* Delete snycState.plist and sync.plist from ~/Users/[user]/Library/Application Support/iCal/
* Removed device from iSync
* Renamed phone on the phone's Bluetooth menu
* Added device (under new name) in iSync
But what finally got the the sync to work was when I looked at the ownership and permissions on my ~/Users/[user]/Library/Phones/[device name].phone file.
My username (as the owner) said "Read & Write," but when I clicked to look at Details, it also had my username as a group, which only had "Read" permissions.
I changed this Group permission to "Read & Write," the Others permission to "Read & Write," and clicked the button to apply changes to enclosed items. The next sync finally worked.
However, the very next sync after THAT failed again. If you find the same, then try this...
With tinkering, I found it would sync my Address Book, and it would sync two of my five iCal calendars. Most likely, because these were two small calendars that did not have repeating events (or the repeating events were detached). But when I would include any of the other three calendars, the sync would fail with the same error message as before.
The fix seems to be: export the troublesome calendars, and re-import as new calendars. When I did this, they were synced without a problem.
Given the timing of the problem -- popping up just after our new Daylight Savings Time switch -- I suspect the problem has something to do with this. Perhaps a fresh export/import clears up this confusion.

What happens when you try to sync? Do you see any error messages? Which software on the computer are you referring to, iTunes? The latest iTunes is 11.1.3. If you cannot update the phone due to lack of storage, you will need to delete some content from the phone.

  • I just updated my iPad 3 to ios 7.02 and can no longer sync with iTunes on my computer running OS 10.5.8. I'm wary about updating to Lion, which may cause any number of apps on my computer to no longer work. Although I may consider purchasing a new laptop

I just updated my iPad to IOS 7.02 and unfortunately can no longer sync with my MacBook running OS 10.5.8. I'm wary about updating to Lion as this may cause any number of apps on my Macbook not to work at all or malfunction. Also my MacBook is 5 years old, and I was thinking about purchasing a new computer. I would like to decide when rather than be forced though. Does anyone have any suggestions for a work around? At the moment I do not subscribe to the cloud, and it looks like that is the only way I can back up my iPad now.

Upgrade to Snow Leopard - it's compatible with the latest version of iTunes, and still supports PowerPC applications.

Snow Leopard is required if you wanted to upgrade to Lion, anyway, which you may want to in the future if the latest version of iTunes no longer supports Snow Leopard.

  • BB Desktop Manager will no longer sync with BB Torch

My Torch will no longer sync with my desktop.   BB Desktop software shows "Connecting " but this message stays on and does not change and it never connects.   Never had any trouble before.  I've reinstalled BB Desktop Manager but still have same issue.
The day prior to me noticing this problem I disconnected my torch during a desktop software backup, which is what I suspect is the cause of this problem, but cannot seem to fix it.   Any thoughts on how to remedy?

Your post indicates iOS 4.3 which is now quite old.  I am going to suggest restoring your iPad, which, among other things, will update your iOS to the current version.
I recommend restoring your iPad.  Make sure you have the current version of iTunes on your computer (currently 11.0.1).  Plug your iPad into your computer, let it sync, then press "Restore" on the right side when the summary page of the iPad is displayed in iTuens' display.

  • ITunes 9.2 upgrade broken - No longer syncs with iPhone 3GS

I just installed the new iTunes 9.2 (and SL 10.6.4) through Software Update.
After rebooting, I find that iTunes 9.2 no longer syncs with my iPhone 3GS.
iTunes sees my iPhone, but opens the "Set up your iPhone" screen. It tells me:
An iPhone has been previously synced with this computer.
[] Set up as a new iPhone
[] Restore from the backup of [my iPhone 3GS]
This is a horrible bug - I do not wish to erase/restore my iPhone 3GS that synced just fine before the reboot, thankyouverymuch
I tried disconnecting and re-connecting my iPhone 3GS, to no avail...

This worked for me on a win7 machine - haven't tried it on my macbook pro machine:
Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Windows :
    1. Windows XP
    * Close iTunes and disconnect the iPhone or iPod touch.
    * Choose Start > Control Panel.
    * Inside the Control Panel, open Administrative Tools.
    * Open Services.
    * Select Apple Mobile Device and click Stop the service as shown below:
    * After the service is stopped, Click Start the service.
    * After the Apple Mobile Device service has started again, open iTunes and connect the device.
    2. Windows Vista
    * Close iTunes and disconnect the iPhone or iPod touch.
    * Click the Windows Start button
    * In the Start Search field type Services.
    * In the Programs section of the search results, Click "Services".
    * Select Apple Mobile Device and click Stop the service as shown below:
    * After the service is stopped, click Start the service.
    * After the Apple Mobile Device service has started again, open iTunes and connect the device.
If after restarting the Apple Mobile Device Service you encounters with same problem then reinstall AMD S. For reinstalling just uninstall the iTunes from control panel then navigate to C:/ >> Program Files >> iTunes Right-click the iTunes folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion. Note: This folder may have already been deleted if iTunes was successfully removed. Now Restart your computer and Install the latest version of iTunes.
Reinstall the Apple Mobile Device Service (AMDS) on Mac OS X :
    # In the Finder, locate iTunes in the Applications folder and drag it to the Trash.
    # Move the iTunes icon to the Trash
    # Choose Go > Go to Folder.
    # Enter /System/Library/Extensions and click Go.
    # Locate the file AppleMobileDevice.kext and drag it to the Trash.
    # Choose Go > Go to Folder.
    # Enter /Library/Receipts/ and click Go.
    # Locate the file AppleMobileDeviceSupport.pkg and drag it to the Trash. If prompted, authenticate with the admin password.
    # Choose Finder > Empty Trash and restart the computer.
    # Download and install the current version of iTunes www.apple.com/itunes/

  • IPhone no longer syncs with computer--"Cannot access the iTunes store"

My iPhone 2G has decided to no longer sync with my iTunes. I do not have internet on my computer (I'm doing this on a friend's), so when I connect my iPhone to my computer, an error message pops up that says "Cannot access the iTunes store". Since my iPhone is normally synced manually, I can still drag new files onto it; however, any movies/podcasts on the iPhone keep reappearing even after I've deleted them (from the iPhone itself). Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Delete then re-install iTunes & Delete the following files:
The iTunes application (located in /Applications)
    com.apple.iTunes.plist (from ~/Library/Preferences)
    iTunes.pkg (from /Library/Receipts)
    iTunesX.pkg (from /Library/Receipts)
then re-download the latest version of iTunes.

  • Iphone no longer syncing with computer

I've had my Iphone 4 for several months and sync it daily with my computer.  For some reason the phone is no longer syncing with the computer.  There is no reason for this to happen so I was hoping someone could help me figure this out.
    Thanks,

What have you tried to fix it?
    Have you rebooted your computer?
Have you verified you have the latest version of iTunes/iOS?
Have you rebooted phone (not just turn off and on, but the reset/reboot process which is not same as Restoring it)?

  • ICal and Address Book no longer syncing with iPhone - HELP!

    HELP!
I am a long time Apple user and rely heavily on my iPhone to keep me where I need to be, when I need to be there. I have an iPhone 4 and it is running OS 6.0.1. Everything was working fabulously until recently. Sadly I don't know when the problems started--when I updated to OS 6 OR when I updated iTunes to version 11. Either way, my iCal and Address Book no longer sync with my iPhone. And to add insult to injury, my phone is no longer automatically detecting the AT&T microcell I have in my house. I have to reboot my phone every time I come back in the house--talk about annoying.
I am not super techy, so I am hoping someone can help me with this. I LIVE by my iPhone and as a self-employed person, I can't afford for this device to stop giving me information. I also don't want to do entries on my phone AND computer everytime something changes. I do not want to go back to the more reliable paper calendar and address book.
I have iCloud turned on, and it appears to sync my address book with my iPhone. But I seem to be a mess with iCal and my desktop. And between iCal/Adress Book on my computer and iPhone, nothing is talking.
    HELP!!!!

I think my company updated Exchange on Friday and since then I cannot sync with Mac Mail, Entourage does not seem to be working either?
    Any fix found

  • Ipad no longer Syncs with my Imac

Since updating my iPad 1 to software version 5 it will no longer sync with my 18 month old Imac running OS X 10.6.8. It starts trying to sync but after a couple of minutes it tells me that the "Sync session failed to Start". Any ideas.

Syncing of data such as Photo Stream, Calendars and Contacts (as opposed to music) using iTunes has been removed in Mavericks (the framework, SyncServices, which enables this has been removed). You are expected to sync your data using iCloud.
    Get Started with iCloud
    Set up on iOS
    Set up on Mac

I updated to 7.0.2 and now some of my music has been removed and I can't find it, and music I deleted years ago has reappeared, and I can't delete it from icloud. My phone will also no longer sync with my computer. My phone has also been freezing regularly since I updated.

The reason, I included the annotation that I'd upgraded my Itunes, (On my Computer) is B/C in many forums - the very first question, *HELPERS* ask, is. "Do you have the latest version of Itunes downloaded on your computer." I wanted to knock out any obvious replies.
Now-  "DO YOU have any idea,"... how your UNHELPFUL remarks, do absolutely nothing but hurt others that might not have the EXPERIENCE you have? How do you expect people to know things without asking questions? Whew! RUDE!!

  • My 2nd gen IPOD touch will no longer sync with itunes.

My 2nd gen IPOD touch will no longer sync with itunes.  it tells me it cannot read the contents of the ipod then it says the ipod software server cannot be contacted.  Any suggestions?

    Update Server
    Try:
    - Powering off and then back on your router.
    - iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
    Public DNS — Google Developers
    OpenDNS IP Addresses
    - Try on another computer/network
    - Wait if it is an Apple problem
    Then try restoring again.
