MOULD DIE as a PRT tool in CF01

Dear All,
I have created -MOULD DIE as a PRT tool in CF01.(I dont want to create the Mould die as a Material it can only be a PRT tool)
I need to issue the Mould whenever it is required to production.
I need to have track on the PRT issued to production.
I need to issue the PRT from its storage location whenever the production requires it & track.
Keep in mind I need this Mould only as PRT TOOL (CF01).
Is this can be done ,Pls suggest a better solution.
Point will be awarded

1. Whether I need to maintain the PRT material in the BOM or simply I can attach in routing.
Which will have better tracebility.
2. Basically what is the diff in creating PRT as Material (MM01) and as PRT tool (CF01) (considering PM module not in the Scope).

MRS: PRT Tool Resource does not appear in Planning Board

Hi Experts,
I am trying to perform tool assignment but somehow the tool resource does not appear in the planning board. I have the following set up:
- Tool created as both material and Equipment (category P)
- Equipment assigned to work center linked to Org Unit
- Order with operations created with PRT assigned
What I am seeing in the planning board:
- I can see the operation with the linked PRT
- I can see the HR resource under the same work center Org Unit
- However, I cannot see the Tool resource.
Am I missing somethng here? Any kind of pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I do have the equipment work center set to be the same as the operation work center. Also, when I try to add the PRT manually in the planning board, I get 2 error messages:
"Resource is not available"
"Selected equipment 0 is invalid"

2nd Monitor died - How does one grab tools back from "that" desktop?

Hi -
One of our two monitors died. There are tools on the 2nd monitor's desktop that we can't "see" until the 2nd monitor returns. How do we pull those tools over to the main desktop?
Also, there are a few finder windows that are too large to grab the bottom scaler and shrink them back. (There is no tool bar on the top of the second monitor giving just a little bit more room.) Is there a minimize button somewhere for "finder" windows?

Ps - just found the "zoom" button on my own - so - I have the finder windows under control - now to learn how to get to that other desktop without the view into the other desktop!

Measuring Point for Tools and Die Maintenance

Dear All,
I am trying to map the following process:-
My client has 10 press machines and around 250 Dies for punching. Dies are assembled to press machines and they produce jobs by punching.
Client has an Preventive Maintenance plan for each Die in terms of number of strokes punched by an Die. for e.g PM is done after every 300000, 600000, 900000, 1200000 strokes. Estimated life is 1200000.
What they want is when production person confirms the production order say for 10000 jobs the counter of the die should increase by 10000.......and so on. When the counter reaches 300000 preventive maintenance call should be scheduled.
What i have done is created an Die as an Equipment with PRT as equipment category. Created an measuring point for that Die, assined Usage formula etc.
I have created an Maintenance plan for that die in which i have assigned the strategy (IP11) which contains the stroke cycles 300000, 600000.........etc.
Assigned the Die as a PRT to the material which is to be produced in the Routing.
When i confirm the production order the counter of the PRT increases which i can check IK13.
What i am expecting is that in IP10 system should update the counter automatically so that when the counter reaches to 300000 maintenance call wil be scheduled and order will be generated.
I would request you to please give me some input on this.

I have seen the screen shots & there are problems with the following:
1) Counter overflow reading
You have entered 130; keep it as- 999999 (it is the reading after which system starts counting from 0 value)
2) Formula that you have used;
You have used the formula- SAPF02; do not use this. Create you own formula with following details: SAPF99 (new formula) = SAP_20 * SAP_09
3) You have manually entered the reading for the measuring point; do not use it. System will calculate the measurement reading from PRT usage value.
CREATE a single measuring document with reading as '0'.
4) Also in CA01; you need to assign this PRT in routing with "EQUIPMENT" & not material. Also make sure that in the same screen (assignment of PRT- basic data) maintain usage value as 1 (if this is not maintained, measuring doc. will NOT be updated).
5) Now when you confirm the production order, based on number of units created; system will automatically create the measuring doc.
If there is any problem with CA01, CO01 or CO11n; ask your PP consultant to assist.

Assuming the moulds are available, you may follow the steps below:
> Create mould as Equipment with PRT screen data
> Create measuring point for this equipment.
> Create counter based maintenance plans for preventive maintenance.
> Use applicable user exit to update the measuring point, in association with PP product confirmation, where this mould is used in respective work center.
> This will give the preventive maintenance schedule in accordance with usage.
> For unplanned repairs, use notification/Maintenance order route to calculate the costs and to maintain history.
> When life expires, deactivate and set 'deletion' flag' to the respective mould equipment master, so that it can not be used in production.
> Detailed scenario should be mapped, based on the actual customer requirement.

You are talking about Production tools inhouse.
For that u need to create a seperate Order Type Like tool manufacturubg or Die manufacturing . Then u need to craete seperate master data .

PRT(equipment) number in order table

Dear Masters,
Can anybody guide me in which table the PRT(equipment) number can be found that is used in any particular order?
For Ex: I have an equipment "100002" that is defined as a PRT in my system and I am creating a maintenance order for other equipment "100003" and I am using euqipment "100002" in this order as a PRT tool.
Now, I want to built a report that can show the linkage between the maintenance order and the PRT used in this order. I want to know the table in which this relationshjip is stored. Please do guide me.

Thanks for your reply, but I found my answer. I wanted to get exact equipment number that is used as PRT in order which I found as below:
From Table VIAUFKST with respect to a particular AUFNR i got AUFPL which i used in table AFFH and got OBJID which further I used in table CRVE_B and got EQUNR that is the exact equipment number I wanted in my report.

Regarding Production Resource Tools in Plant Maintenance Module

Dear All,
In our client group we have 3 maintenance companies PM1, PM2 and PM3. Presently we are implementing SAP PM in PM1.
My issue is like this...we have lubricants which is used for maintenance work in PM1.
This material is brought from PM2 at free of cost, so we(PM1) no need to pay any amount to PM2.
As if now we have created lubricants as material and getting the material with free of cost in PO. Now when I bring this material for free the price is zero.
when we use this material in our maintenance order, we need the cost of the lubricants used for maintenance.
After searching few forums, i came to know that lubricants can be used as PRT tools.
If anyone has any idea about this...please tell me how to solve this...

This is wrong. To fix the first wrong thing you should not do a second wrong thing. If a transaction happens between two company codes it should be seen from several angles. Please ensure that MM and FI have agreed for this. Also, using lubricants as PRTs is very odd. PRTs don't get consumed. Components do. The stock goes down when u issue them to the order. U don't return the lube oil cans after you complete the order!
My suggestion is that you sit with the MM and FI consultants and together come to a conclusion. This can't be done in isolation.

In one scenario of Idoc we have created Y segement in the IDoc & in this segement we want to display the PRT assigned to specific opeartion in the order.
Please give me table name or any such link that will able me to fetch the PRT assiged to operation in the order

Print word document attached to an order

my requirement is to print the sap script for the PM order and as well as word documents attached to the order.
for an order, for an operations when PRT tools selected
word documents attached to it.
i need to print those word douments attached to PRT tools for an oparation.
pgm used is RIPRJT00
form PM_COMMON
i am able to oepn the documents attached to the order in PRINT PREVIEW.
when choosing print option it goes to update termination

In order to save any type of document on your phone you need to have an app that supports that form of document.
There are several word processing apps but I prefer Pages. Buy this app. Once it is on your phone you can tap the Word document in your email to view it then tap the Share icon and Open in Pages.
If you edit the document and email it you will have the choice to send it as a Pages document, a Word document or a PDF file.

Hi,
You can link a document to a notification and the notification to the work order, that is i one solution. Other wise if you link a document to function location or a equipment a button will show up in the work order there you can reach the alocated document. You can also use PRT tool and conect a document to an operation on a work order

Not enough RAM to install?

Hi,
When I try to re-install Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, the installer now says I don't have enough RAM. Why does it tell me this?
I have a Power Mac G4 that was happily running Mac OS X 10.5.4. I wanted to update the software and downloaded and installed the Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combined Update. After the installation, the hard drive got corrupted, and out of frustration I reinstalled the OS.
I installed Mac OS X 10.4 first, and I can use the computer. Now I am trying to install Mac OS X 10.5 - when the install program starts up, I get a dialog box saying "This computer doesn't have enough memory?" What gives, Mac OS X 10.5 used to be on this machine, and I installed it with the same DVD! Why does the installer give me this message now?
I've read the specs here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3759 and nothing has changed to my hardware - no modifications. Standard Power Mac G4, with an Airport card installed in it.
Any ideas?

Looks like one of the DIMMs died. I only have 256 MB now, according to the diagnostic tool. This explains why 10.5 won't install. I wonder if this is why 10.5.8 wouldn't boot. Kind of sucky that there is no error message about a DIMM dying. The diagnostic tool will tell you if you look through the power on self test info. Mystery solved - looks like I have to go shopping for Power Mac G4 memory.

ich möchte einen Katalog erstellen, dessen Daten aus der Datenbank kommen. Es gibt verschiedene Produkte mit unterschiedlichen Layouts. Ausserdem werden Tabellen zur Darstellung von Varianten benötigt.
Zur Realisierung benutze ich VB mit InDesign scripting.
Jetzt meine Fragen:
1. Bringt mir XML etwas?
2. Wie kopiere ich ein Template?
3. Wie kann ich Tabellen ggf. mit Vorlagen aufbauen?
Da ich InDesign Anfänger bin, suche ich noch den rechten Weg zum Ziel. Gibt es Beispiele?

natürlich kann man mit InDesign einen Database Publishing Prozess erfolgreich umsetzen.
Es gibt jedoch recht viele verschiedene Möglichkeiten, dies zu tun; es kommt immer darauf an,
- welche Art von Katalog produziert werden soll
- das Layout eher statisch ist (Seitenorientiert)
- oder eher dynamisch (orientiert Produktdaten)
- in elcher FOrm die Produkte gruppiert und sortiert werden sollen
- Bilder zu den Produkten
und vieles andere mehr.
Die nahezu wichtigste Fragen lauten für den ersten Schritt:
- in welchem FOrmat liegen die aten jetzt/zukünftig vor?
- woher kommen die Daten / werden sie über ein ERP oder CMS System gepflegt?
- sind die Daten medienneutral (Inhalt und Darstellung getrennt)?
- wieviel "Handarbeit" ist nach dem Generieren des Kataloges noch erlaubt (soll der Katalog zu 100% automatisiert erstellt werden, dann wird leider etwas aufwendiger)?
Prinzipiell lässt sich zu Deinen Fragen sagen:
bringt XML was: das allein ist ja schon eine schwierige Frage! Also:
XML Import in InDesign: ja, bringt was, wenn das Layout relativ statisch ist. XML Import kann sehr schön für Übersetzungsworkflows eingesetzt werden.
Template kopieren: dazu müstest Du erst mal erklären, wa Du in diesem Fall unter Template verstehst. Meinst Du .indt - Dateien? Diese kannst Du per VbScript instanzzieren (also eine indd-Datei daraus ableiten) und daran dann weiterarbeiten (z.B. per Script mit Daten füllen).
Indt Dateien könnten durchaus auch eine Lösung für deinen Katalog darstellen, wenn Deine Anforderungen nicht allzu hoch sind.
Tabellen mit Vorlagen: das ist ein Punkt,, an dem sich die unterschiedlichen Databanse Publishing Tools erheblich voneinander unterscheiden. Aber auch hier kommt es auf Deine genauen Anforderungen an.
Ich kann Dir empfehlen, Dir verschiedene Database-Publishing Produkte anzusehen, z.B. www.inforvision.de oder Woodwing Smart Catalog.
Alternativ dazu kannst Du auch ohne jedes weitere Hilfsmittel alleine mit VB Scripting und InDesign arbeiten (da geht nahezu alles (auch Tabellen), aber man braucht schon ein bisschen zeit für die Erstellung des Scripts). Das macht natürlich nur Sinn, wenn die Daten in einem brauchbaren Format angeliefert werden (das könnte XML sein oder auch eine gute Datenbankstruktur, immer mit zugehörigem Bildmaterial)

Premiere, Handbücher usw. :-(

Jeder der behauptete halbwegs Ahnung zu haben, hat mir zur Pinnacle DV500 Karte geraten, die mit Premiere geliefert wird. Die Pinnacle DV500 Tools sind toll, dat stimmt. Premiere aber selbst ist für den EDV erfahrenen Anwender eine echte Katastrophe ! !. Das Handbuch ist völlig unübersichtlich, hat nur Screenshots vom MAC und ausserdem bezieht es sich auf die Version 5.0. Sich ohne Vorwissen in die Materie einzuarbeiten ist mir nach 3 Wochen vergeudeter Zeit nur Ansatzweise gelungen und meine Fortschritte sind lächerlich. Die Ergebnisse, die ich bislang produziert, habe sind mehr als dürftig und wurden auf meinem nagelneuen Win98 Highend PC (Asus A7V Mo.bo., Asus V6800Deluxe 32MB DDR RAM AGP Grafikkarte, 256MB RAM, 30GB UDMA66 HD, Win98SE) von dutzenden Abstürzen begleitet. Ich hab ganz schön die Schnauze voll. Größtes Problem sind sämtliche Projekteinstellungen (allgemein, video, audio etc.) und die Exportsettings die irgendwie offensichtlich zusammenpassen sollen. Entweder hab ich kein Ton oder Ich seh im Monitorfenster nix oder dat W98 grätscht ab und friert ein. Dann geht nur noch ausschalten. Wenn ich die Pinnacle Plugins für MPEG-2 Export verwenden will klappt sowieso nix was nicht so schlimm ist weil man ja dann auch noch mit Minverva Impression umgehen können müßte.
Das ist alles ein Dreck, Echt Super !, da kann ich nur sagen : Nie wieder Adobe Premiere. Mal schauen was es sonst noch gibt.

Und deine 30MB 5400RPM Seagate Firebird aus dem Aldi PC kannste getrost g=
egen ein SCSI System tauschen. Ram ein bischen aufr=FCsten (ich glaube 51=
2 MB sind f=FCr DV nicht zu schlecht). Ne vern=FCnftige ELSA-Grafikkarte =
kaufen. Oder du kaufst dir gleich nen Mac (Top-Choice) oder ne Silicon Gr=
aphics-Station wenn du das Geld =FCbrig hast.
So, nach der ganzen Flapsigkeit noch einige Hinweise.
1. Schau mal in dem Motion Forum ein bischen unter den fr=FCheren Beitr=E4=
gen nach. Probleme mit der Pinnacle und Premiere hatten schon mehrere geh=

3. Kauf dir ein vern=FCnftiges Handbuch (die von ITP sind ganz okay oder =
Addison-Wesley)
4. Bem=FChe dich, deine Probleme Punkt f=FCr Punkt und konkreter zu besch=
reiben. Vielleicht kann man dir doch noch helfen.
5. Du bist nicht der einzige frustrierte User. Win98 ist nicht vollkommen=
im Verwalten des Speichers. La=DF den ganzen Kram ne Woche stehen. Lies =
einfach noch ein bischen. Wird schon besser.
