Mount AFP Sharepoint without login

Hello
Is it possible to get an AFP Sharepoint without logging in? I know its an oxymoron, that is why i did not use the word "mount".
The sharepoint must be accessible to a Leopard Server, which I do not want to have him logged in all the time.
Best regards
K.

Sure. Under Settings in AFP go to Access and click the Enable guest access box. Then go to Share Points and browse to the specific share point(s) you want to share, click on Share Point (next to the Permissions tab below), click on Protocol Options, and under the AFP tab click on the Allow AFP guest access.

  • Auto_master, mounting afp shares without username/password in plain text?

    Hi,
i'm trying to mount afp-shares from a Synology Diskststation and an Airport Time Capsule via the automountd.
I've modified the /etc/auto_master as follows:
    # Automounter master map
    +auto_master            # Use directory service
    /net                    -hosts          -nobrowse,hidefromfinder,nosuid
    /home                   auto_home       -nobrowse,hidefromfinder
    /Network/Servers        -fstab
    /-                      -static
    /Synology               /etc/auto_afp   -nosuid
    I've created the /etc/auto_afp:
    iTunes -fstype=afp afp://"Username":"Password"@DiskStation.local/iTunes
    Data -fstype=afp afp://"Username":"Password"@AirPort.local/Data
Providing Username and Password works fine, but is there a way to make this work without the Username and Password in plain text?
    Thank you.

An applescript application set as a user login item should be a better choice.
I'm just about to work this out for an SMB mount of a users Windows home (augmented AFP homes are breaking preventing the 'Mount UNC path' option in the AD plugin).
Post back if you still want info.

  • Mounting AFP share under devices

    Hey guys,
So this one I've been searching for an answer to for weeks on end with no success.
I have tried so many different things it's not even funny anymore.
Basically, I work at a private college where our students use InDesign CS5 on MacBook Pro's.
Our students currently have to save their work to the desktop, and then manually move it to the Student Dropbox(an afp share on the os x server) if they wish to share anything.
A temporary solution I came up for this was for them to drag the AFP link to the Devices pane in Finder, therefore allowing InDesign to see it as a device and save straight to it.
The problem with this though, is that they have to do this each and every time, and our students aren't all the most computer literate.
Is there any possible way to mount the drive on login AND have it appear under the devices pane automatically?
    Cheers,
    Brodie

    An other solution is
create an file (you will need root-rights)
    sudo nano /etc/auto_afp
    and insert the following text
    /Users/%username%/share -fstype=afp afp://username:[email protected]/share
but i don't know if this work in lion

  • Mounting external SharePoint with OSX Server

    Hi,
I know that the default location for a mounted SharePoint is the /Volumes directory. Is there a way, some command line command, to mount a SharePoint at a different location, say, at root?
Would there be security implications for allowing the www user (Apache) dr-x access to a SharePoint mounted at root?
    Thanks,
    Ted

Thanks, Brent. I used the mount_afp command successfully to create a mounted SharePoint within the Webserver Documents directory.
But! When, using a browser, I try to access a webpage that's saved within the SharePoint's file system, one of the Xservers (web server or the other Xserve, an X Raid host) tells me that "I" (the www user) doesn't have "permission to access the file on this server."
We don't have Open Directory set up right now, so the www user is local to the Xserve that's the web server. Do I need to come up with a way to authenticate the web server's' "www user" on the X Raid host?
    Thanks for your thoughts,
    Ted

  • Share a mounted AFP volume across user accounts on the same computer

    Hi all,
I have a Mac Mini with several attached disks (HFS+). I'm using it as a file server, to share these disks over my home network. I'm mounting these as AFP server volumes on a second computer (MacBook Pro). This all works fine. Both are running MacOS 10.6.2.
The problem is that my MacBook Pro has two user accounts, and when I mount AFP volumes under one user, the other user can't access them. It seems that mounted AFP volumes are assigned read/write permissions for only the user that mounted them.
Ideally, I'd like to mount a volume once, and have it accessible from both user accounts. I've tried changing permissions in the AFP volume's Get Info window, but the changes don't take effect.
Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks!!

I'm no expert in this department, but I believe that your question was the reason Apple started the 'Group' calendar. Check this page out:

    Perhaps your answer lies within.

  • How do i delete the icloud account on my iphone without login details

How do i delete the icloud account on my iphone without login details or access to the email account which it was set up with?

While you can delete the existing iCloud account by forcing the phone into recovery mode & restoring it, or logging into iCloud.com & erasing the phone, you won't be able to activate the phone unless you you know the original Apple ID/Password that was originally used to activate the phone. The phone will be useless.
    This is called Activation Lock.

  • How can I put files into the trash without login every time?

Every time I want to put items in the trash, after dragging things to the basket, I have to sign in.  Why? Can I set the defaul to allow me to do so without login?

The procedure below will reset the permissions of a user's home folder in OS X 10.7.4 or later, including 10.8 or later. If you're running an earlier version of 10.7, update to the latest version first. This procedure should not be used under OS X versions older than 10.7.4.
Back up all data before you begin.
    Step 1
Click the Finder icon in the Dock. A Finder window will open.
    Step 2
Press the following key combinations, in the order given:
    Command-3
    Shift-command-H
Command-I (the letter "I" as in "Info.")
The Info window of your home folder will open.
    Step 3
Click the lock icon in the lower right corner and authenticate with the name and login password of an administrator on the system. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
    Step 4
In the Sharing & Permissions section of the window, verify that you have "Read & Write" privileges. If not, use the "+" and "-" buttons in the lower left corner to make the necessary changes.
    Step 5
By default, the groups "staff" and "everyone" have "Read Only" privileges. With those settings, the files at the top level of your home folder will be readable by other local users. You can change the privileges to "No Access" if you wish, but then your Public and Drop Box folders will be inaccessible to others. Most likely, you don't need to change these settings.
    Step 6
If there are entries in the Sharing & Permissions list for users or groups other than "me," "staff," and "everyone," delete them.
    Step 7
Click the gear icon at the bottom of the Info window and select Apply to enclosed items... from the drop-down menu. Confirm. The operation may take several minutes to complete. When it does, close the Info window.

  • CRM ECO 5.0 B2B without login

    hi,
we need to implement ECO CRM for our customer. After looking the comparison matrix of the B2B and B2C scenario we decided to use the B2B scenario because of missing features in B2C scenario. But the shop needs a public area (like in B2C). The e-shop user shall be able to browse the catalog and shall be able to put something into the basket without login into the shop. When the user wants to see its prices or wants to send an order the user needs to login.
    Any idea?
My next question is that you can configure in shopadmin a b2b/b2c scenario. Can someone explain to me, what will happen when I configure a b2b/b2c scenario and call a b2b shop?
    kind regards
    Michael

    Hi Michael,
    Question 1:
There is no way to skip the mandatory B2B login, because through this login only the customer is identified. You need to re-write the entire business logic of the ISA to achieve this functionality. Definetly cost more time and money and above that that this change will not be automatically upgraded during the future upgrades.
    Question 2:
You can do that. After the login select the B2B/B2C shop from list and you get to see the standard B2B webshop.

  • How to backup Mac without login???

My iMac has a very weird problem, it usually booting with a long gray bar and take very long time, and even sometime it suddenly shuts down while booting. And now it shuts down every time i turn it on. I did try Lion Recovery to repair Macintosh HD, but it can't repair, there is an alert that tell me I have to reinstall Mac OS, but before that, I have to format Macintosh HD, and it will erase all of my data. And OMG, I forgot to backup my iMac, what can I do, please help me?!!!

OMG, finally i found all of my pictures when i copy iPhoto Library to Bootcamp Desktop and did a search, all stuff appeared. The reason i can' find pictures my self is Bootcamp doesn't support searching in HFS+ of Macintosh HD, but if i do it manually, i never can find my pics because iPhoto organizes photos with too much folders, each pics stored in a separate folder. Btw, i still want to know is there any way to backup Mac without login Mac OS? If yes, i will do backup all my applications because it is very crazy for me to reinatall all applications again!??

  • Run Software without Login

    Hello!
I am facing issue in auto launch a program without login  the system. I have tried task scheduler and it actually helped me only when the user is logged in.
Whenever i checkmark the radio button which narrates to run the program  when login or not. In this case software runs but it went in background and its useless for me.. I want it be in front so that soon the user login its accessable,
Looking forward to hear some expert opinions over it.
    Regards

Test the script thoroughly then save it as an application. That way the script editor will not need to open each time the script runs. Once it is saved as an app follow Tony T1's suggestion for adding it as a login item.

  • TRYING TO LAUNCH BEx ANALYZER FROM R3 SYSTEM, WITHOUT LOGIN AGAIN...

    Hi mates,
We are trying to launch BEx Analyzer, with a Program/Function from R3 System, using an RFC.
1.- We create a program in R3 system (4.6c), in that program we try to call BW (SAP BI 7.0, SP18), with:
            - CALL FUNCTION 'RSAH_LAUNCH_TRANSACTION_SLAVE'
              DESTINATION **RFC TO BW**
             EXPORTING
            TRANSACTION                  = 'RRMX'
    or
           -  CALL FUNCTION 'RFC_CALL_TRANSACTION_USING'
              DESTINATION **RFC TO BW**
                 EXPORTING
                   tcode                         = 'RRMX'
                   mode                          = 'N'
With that, or calling an Z transaction, with an Z program, and calling the next functions in the BW program:
             'RSSEM_QUERY_LAUNCH'
             'RSAH_LAUNCH_EXCEL'
With o without setting Infoprovider and Query or Workbook in the functions.
    The result was the same:
    1.- R3 call BW - OK
    2.- BW call BEx ANALYZER/EXCEL - OK
3.- Analyzer shows, but the user have to login again in BEx Analyzer to open queries or workbooks, and that step we are trying to hide to the users.
We need that users call BEx ANALYZER from R3 to BW using an R3 program or transaction, without login again into BW or BEx, but it seems like there is a problem with ANALYZER, RRMX (and its functions) and SSO.
RFC works fine, and is "trusted". Remote connection and Test Connection works OK.
If you make a REMOTE ACCCES with the RFC, and call RRMX, the result is the same, you have to login again in BEx Analyzer, to open queries or workbooks...
We think, must be something wrong with the SSO, or the SSO with BWE and BEx Analyzer, i mean something wrong with the standar or versions.
    We tryied with:
    1.- BIAddon 9 in Excel 2007
    2.- BIAddon 6 in Excel 2003.
    We really appreciate your help.
    Best regards,
    Bruno.

  • How to enable PIN authentication to make outgoing call , without login?

    Hi experties,
In my organization, there are 2 type of user defined by management, which is user uses Extention Mobility(Login/Logout) at any IP Phone and the other side is users uses share ip phone as common number. each user have their own login profile, but how can i enable the sharing user do not have to login but they can uses their PIN to make outgoing call without login to ip phone. This features we normally found in analog phone where each user have personal PIN for outgoing call. for your infomation we're using CCM4.1(3)sr3c and IPPhone 7940 and 7960..Thanks in advance..

It sounds like you want to use Forced Authorization Code. On the route pattern out check 'Require Forced Authorization Code' and set a level. Callers using the route pattern will now be prompted to enter their code with 3 beeps. Go under Feature-Forced Authorization Code and create some codes. If the codes are the same or higher level as what is assigned to the route pattern the call will go out.

  • Script check the AD accounts without login 90 days and disable it only

    Dear All
How to create a script to check the AD user accounts (windows 2008) without login 90  days and disable it.
    Regards
    PK

Something like this should work (actually, it's probably better to use lastLogonTimeStamp, not lastLogon):
    Search-ADAccount -usersonly -accountinactive -timespan "90"
After that you can either export them to a csv file or just delete them straight away. But remember about the recently created users issue.
If you are looking into more advanced solution, I have got experience with Adaxes. here is an example of how to achieve what you want with it: http://www.adaxes.com/tutorials_AutomatingDailyTasks_AutomaticallyDeprovisionInactiveActiveDirectoryUsers.htm

  • Invoke "generate PDF" without login/Password

Is it possible to invoke the "Generate PDF"-Web-Interface without login?
    Best Regards
    Martin

Even, if I would live with a logon to use the pdfg-service, I couldn't manage it to create a user with a role "logon but see and use only pdf-generator-services".
The role "PDF Generator user" promises to fulfill that but you need to create a user haviong this role and additionally "administration console user". Loggin in with this credentials you get access to process management, rights management and archive too.
Is there any chance to definie a user having access to pdf-generator-services (create pdf, convert pdf, html->pdf) only?

  • Get the WinNT username without login in F6i client

    Hi,
I must read the WinNT username without login (P-F-Trigger)
    in Forms 6i client.
This is usefully to create a login.
    Thanks,
    Friedhold

If your database is 8i and above, you can use sys_context built-in.
    For example:
    select sys_context('userenv','os_user') from dual;
It will give you OS login user name.
However you can not directly use sys_context in Form 6i(Believe or not, Form 6i is built on Oracle 8 not 8i). You have to create a function to return the user name and call the function in Form.
