Mount_webdav works but Finder- Connect to server... doesn't

Hi there,
I'm able to connect to my webdav server using mount_webdav command in the terminal, but if I try and connect using Finder I get this error show up in the Error Console:
+7/12/10 4:02:36 PM webdavfs_agent[1729] network_mount: PROPFIND failed; file: /SourceCache/webdavfs/webdavfs-293.1/mount.tproj/webdav_network.c; line: 2856+
What does that mean and how do I fix this?

I have found the decision of this problem.
*Removing from the Keychain all records for given WebDAV server solve this problem.*
MAC OS X keep pair of login and password for the server without full path and if the pair login and password has changed, you can't be connected to the server through Finder.
Terminal does not have this problem because mount with switch i request enter login and password

Wifi works but no connection to Internet. 2nd MacBook Pro on same wifi network works (but is using Snow Leopard while I am using lion 10.7.4). iPad works. Everything was working fine until yesterday.

Have restarted router several times. My laptop started working after I did something (under stress, hard to remember, but at least was repairing permissions, maybe more...). Now, the laptop next to mine (my girlfriend's) has the same problem I had. In Network Diagnosis, the first four lights are green, but Internet and Server are red. The router is not mine (we are renting) and not an airport express--it is a Linksys Wireless-G 2.4 GHz: WLAN light and light 1 (in series 1 to 4) are flickering. There is a separate light, Internet, which is not lit. I am writing this from my laptop which IS working from this router...

    Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

  • Connect to Server doesn't respond and Network server aliases don't work

Hello. I have a PowerBook G4 running 10.4.9. Up until a few days ago, it was working fine to connect to a share on a PowerMac G5 10.3.9. Now I can't connect using Connect to Server afp://ipaddress - I click on the blue Connect button but nothing happens. If I try to connect using Finder -> Network and the G5 alias, I get the "alias could not be opened" error and I can't delete the alias, and Fixing the alias does nothing either.
I have an Intel iMac 10.4.9 that connects fine to the G5 share, and a MacBook Core 2 Duo 10.4.9 that also connects fine to the G5.
On the Powerbook G4, I've tried repairing disk permissions and also repaired the disk, but it hasn't fixed the problem.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    David

Might try clearing some Caches... I prefer AppleJack for this...
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19596
After installing, reboot holding down CMD+s, then when the prompt shows, type in...
    applejack AUTO
Then let it do all 5 of it's things.
At least it'll eliminate some questions if it doesn't fix it.
Also, or instead, might try trashing these...
    /Users/nnnn/Library/Preferences/com.apple.internetconnect.plist
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/preferences.plist
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.airport.preferences.plist
    /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/NetworkInterfaces.plist
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.networkConfig.plist
Reboot... of course you dont have to trash them, you can just move them to the desktop to drag back if it doesn't work.

  • Automator "Connect to Server" doesn't work with spaces in volume name

I'm trying to use an old Automator Workflow I had set up in Snow Leopard that connected to a list of specified server mounts (both Windows smb:// and Apple afp://). It works fine for most of them, until it hits a mount point that has a space in it, where it fails. Looking at the debug area it looks like it's trying to connect to "smb://Server/Example%20Name" instead of "smb://Server/Example Name" and failing. Yet, when I use the "Connect to Server…" functionality in Finder, the same URL works just fine. Is there any syntax that will make this work correctly in Automator?

As I said I never used this before Lion and I don;t have any smb shares to test on but this is what I've found which may be of help:
The following workflow connects to my MB from an iMac:
Notice that the MB name is administrator's MacBook with a space and an apostrophe. Notice the %chars for the space and the apos so I don't think that the %20 for the space in your case is causing the problem.
When I tried this by entering afp://administrator's MacBook it failed. The error message showed the special chars converted as in the url that worked what was missing was the everything after the _ in the name.
When I did a connect to server in the Finder and selected Recent servers from the pull down and selected administrator's MacBook the url in the action above was shown. I copied the url from the server address line and pasted into the Automater action.
This might be of some help in your case at least it might show if the %20 is really causing the problem.

  • Airplay is stop working but network connection ok: airport express

    Hi,
I hope someone could help me, I can't find the solution.
I have an airport express which I use for internet access and airplay.
Sometimes when I awake (from sleep mode) my MBP (running OSX 10.6.8) airplay doesn't work anymore. It means Itunes says that remote speaker airport express cannot be found and airport utility can't find the airport express either. But internet connection still works perfectly!
So I have to reboot the MBP to get back my airplay service, the problem seems to be on the mac.
I have updated airport utility and airport express to the latest firmware, so I don't have any other idea.
    Would you have ideas?
    Thanks!

Found the fix under a different search. Turns out the Linksys router was blocking the iTunes. Have no idea why it would show up momentarily and then disappear though. In any event, the fix is:
I have a wired Ethernet network and run through a Linksys cable/DSL 4-port router. Model #BEFSR41. Here's how we fixed the problem step-by-step:
    1) Open a browser window and access the router control panel by typing in 192.168.1.1
    2) Click on the "Security" button at the top of the screen
    3) There are two subnav options under Security. Click on "Filter IP" (I believe it's already highlighted.)
    4) At the bottom of that page, there is a set of four or five radio buttons. One of them says "Filter Multicast". Mine was disabled. CLICK THIS TO ENABLED.
This fix comes directly from this post about getting Apple TV to work:

  • I established a VPN configuration and connected but cannot connect to server?

I work from an imac at home and need to connect to my work server and files.  I established the VPN configuration and connected to the building but cannot access the server.  What am I doing wrong or what else do I need to do.

Once your VPN is connected, you still need to log in to the server(s) you are using.  This does not necessarily happen automatically - you may have to manually log in to your server(s).   To do this, in the Finder menu do Go > Connect to Server and enter the server address.  If these are windows servers it's probably an SMB connection in which case you would enter  smb://<serveraddress> in the server address field.
Best bet is to talk with the IT folks where you work, as you may need specific information about how to log in to your server(s).  There are ways to automate the login but you first need the correct login details (server address, userID, password).
If you want to automate the login process, here's a simple Applescript that I wrote in my own case.  Create this using Applescript Editor.  After testing, save it as an Application; then in System Preferences you can add it to your list of Login Items so it runs automatically whenever you sign in to your Mac.  Of course, your VPN will have to already be connected in order for this to actually work.
    delay 30
    tell application "Finder"
        mount volume "smb://servername1/mountpoint_A"
        mount volume "smb://servername2/mountpoint_B"
    end tell
(Note: "servernameX/mountpoint_Y" is the address of each of the 2 servers I log into, except that in this example they are completely fictitious names.)

  • Migrated from MobileMe to iCloud. Sync works, but Find My ... reports no location, even though Location Services shows ON.

I upgraded my iPhone and iPad to IOS5, migrated from mobile.me to iCloud, and deleted my mobile.me account from my devices under "Mail, Contacts, Calendars." My user name and password were different between mobile.me and the Apple Store account, so I used my Apple Store ID to activate iCloud.
All syncing now works fine, but Find My iPhone reports "Location Services disabled." That is true for both my iPhone and iPad. Nevertheless, Find My iPhone is still able to send a message or sound to my devices, even though it cannot locate them.
Find My iPhone is switched ON under the iCloud account on both devices, and is ON under Location Services. The only way I can get Find My iPhone to locate my devices is to re-enable mobile.me, but that is no solution since the mobile.me service is scheduled to end next year.
Can you help unravel this for me?

I think I solved it!  Remove the Ubiquity folder from ~/Library/Application Support/
OSX will create a new one and locations services will work perfectly!  Well, it worked for me!
    I love using exclamation points!!!

  • Time Capsule: Wired connection works but cannot connect via wifi to net

    Hi all,
I've had a Time Capsule for a year or so. I've been having problems with connectivity over recent months and I'm not sure where the issue is.
I have plugged in an ethernet cable joining my MBA to the TC, and another from the TC to the wall socket. I can access the internet without any problems.
However, if I unplug the ethernet cable from my MBA (or indeed if I don't plug it in in the first place) then I cannot connect to the internet. I can still back up to Time Machine etc., but nothing can get 'through' the TC.
Also, if I turn Mobile Data off for my iPhone, I cannot then access the internet via WiFi through the TC.
Any ideas as to how to fix this? The TC is in bridging mode, which has worked fine before. All suggestions welcome!

    Ok.. let me try again..
Going back to your first post.
When you plug in via ethernet the MBA works but not by wireless..
Now add that to the new info.
    The campus network relies on each PC's individual MAC address and then assigns IP addresses as required;
Is the MAC address actually registered?? Because the MAC address of the ethernet port of the MBA and the MAC address of the wireless are different.
If the MAC addresses are not registered.. how does the Uni know the difference between a computer and a router??
You are not allow to run a router that feeds DHCP into the uni system.. but they cannot know what you have behind the MAC address of the item plugged in. A computer or a router.
So the TC has to be in bridging mode - which has worked perfectly well previously
Try releasing the MAC address to the PORT.. because the uni might have decided they don't want hubs connected either.. therefore the address of whichever device that is plugged into the wall is registered at the switch and will not allow a change for a fix period.. that is one way to stop people changing stuff around.
Try powering off the TC.. when you use another item.. or change from ethernet to wireless.. then power up the TC again and then power up the device .. eg the wireless on the laptop.. If it fails, it is not the TC that is causing it.. because in bridge the TC is completely dumb. It has no ability to control the MAC address being sent to the main router. None whatsoever.
If your TC recently upgraded to 7.6.4 firmware.. though.. well it can do all kinds of nasties.. flash it back to 7.6.1 and factory reset it.. and hope it works as it did before.. if not the uni changed the system to prevent your TC acting even as a hub.

  • Socket stuff... Connection works but neither client nor server will receive

    Okay, here's the deal...
I have a serversocket and a clientsocket in the same program. I have the client connect to 127.0.0.1 and the server accepts a connection. Both server and client make a thread to listen to one another. Then the server sends something to the client. The client doesn't catch anything. When I use the client to send to the server, the server also doesn't catch anything. Also, when I add the line "System.out.println(fromServer.readln())" after the connecting instead of in a separate thread, it gets totally weird and starts jumping back and forth between lines within the same try block. The line order gets random and some get executed twice. I'm using the IntelliJ software to program / debug. The application always gets stuck at the line I mentioned before. . I have no idea what the hell is going on. Can any one please please help me? =(
P.S. I could add the code but I'm not sure what to add and if I added all of it it'd kind of be a lot so... if you need to take a look at it tell me what parts you want or if you want the full thing or whatever. I don't see a way to attach files to posts =p otherwise I could have attached the project.

  • IPad Maps App doesn't work - can't connect to server

    Is it just me?
The iPad Maps app won't let me scroll, search or zoom. I get an error that says I cannot connect to the server, or I get a "server error". I can go to Google Maps via Safari and it works just fine. Is this a 3G only application? All other connectivity works. It's also weird that so many areas have no detail on the iPad's Safari look at Google Maps, when the same locations have full terrain and close-up views on my computer.

I am also receiving this error message "Cannot provide directions.  The map server is not available".  When selecting "directions, route" option it requires me to download a Maps App which is not compatible for IPAD.
Frustrated with this since I was planning a trip.

So, I've spent all day trying to get my new printer to access Web Services so I can register it with the Claim Number. It will not access the server despite trying all the suggestions, even exposing my computer to the Internet demons by disabling my Firewall.
