  • Mountain Lion broke vectordesigner 1.7.0. Can I run it in compatibility mode to Lion?

    Hi,
if anyone could help? Mountain Lion broke vectordesigner 1.7.0. Can I run it in compatibility mode to Lion?
I can not update to version 1.7.3 because it has been removed from the app store.
    Regards
    Steffan

    There isn't a "compatibility" mode.
According to Roaring Apps compatibility table, neither version works with Mountaion Lion.

  • Mountain Lion problem with iTunes over network

I connect to my iTunes to watch movies over my Airport network. A movie will play for about 20 min then loose connection. I have to go to my host iMac with Mountain Lion and restart iTunes then reconnect on my mac mini downstairs which is running Leopard. A real pain in the bu##.
It appears to be shutting down my network connection for some reason. Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know what to do?
I will watch a movie using my appleTV and see if it does the same thing. Then I will know if it is realted to my iMac and not compatability with Leopard.

ok, I watched a movie on my AppleTV without interuption so it must be a conflict between my Leopard on the mac mini and Mountain Lion on my iMac.

  • Install Mountain Lion to get iTunes 10?

    Hi,
I hate iTunes 11. Been using Apple products since the 80ies; have never seen such a worthless piece of bloatware.
Have recoverd both my iMac and MB Air 11 to Lion to get back to iTunes 10.
Question: if I get the installer for Mountain Lion, will I be able to hang on to iTunes 10 or will it update to 11?
    Thanks,
    KC

    No multiple windows.
New playlists have to be made in annoying window  instead of the folder where I want it to be.
    No radio.
Search in the library seems to give random results and won't recognize the names of my playlists.
Search results done in songs give me results sorted by artist.
Usually, I manage to see the positive of bad Apple products. ( I even liked Mobile Me) iTunes 11 is junk. I even canceled my order for a new iPad, will cherish my old stuff for a while to see if they see the light. If not, I'm contemplating Android.
Do you happen to know if the latest software update for Apple TV will give problems playing movies from iTunes 10?

  • Mountain Lion broke, like, everything that was good about my machine.

Okay, multiple issues with Mountain Lion:
--The HighPoint RocketRaid Quad card, the one sold in the Apple Store, had its driver disabled by Mountain Lion. There is no updated driver available that I can find.  eSATA peripherals no longer function.
--USB camera control, upload, and download functions all crash on launch
--Network speeds have slowed to a crawl. Notifications don't stay disabled.
--Safari is so slow it is basically functionless.
The ONLY improvement I've found so far is that the GPU no longer causes kernel panics when I drag something from the downloads folder on the dock to the desktop.

Oh, I've got a backup; another machine as well as a few good Lion backups, I'm simply putting in some points of information for others who may wonder what their machines will need.
I did think it was awfully strange that cameras connected via USB will only work if they have on-camera menus. So if anyone out there is really attached to, say, using their Canon EOS Utility software to connect to any Canon camera, this update will sabotage all their efforts.
Also thought it was rather strange that Apple released an update of this sort without including the drivers for the RAID card, since the drivers from Highpoint and other sources do not work on the Mac Pro 12-core (2010). I fought with that problem for some time when I first installed the card, so it's not the other manufacturers who are in the spotlight here, it's Apple.

  • Mountain Lion broke QTX and QT7

I installed Mountain Lion yesterday and now my videos that are in .mov format no longer play. QTX loads them but when I click the Play button, nothing happens. QT7 opens them and plays the video but without audio. VLC opens the files but the audio is scratchy with hisses and pops and is barely recognized as audio.
I'm looking for any and all updated plug-ins and components but so far no progress.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • ITunes has gone crazy in Mountain Lion - HELP!

I just upgraded to Mountain Lion, and now iTunes appears to take over my computer whenever I have my iPhone, iPod or iPad attached. If I switch to another app, the computer switches back to iTunes after a few seconds. If I quit iTunes, it starts up again by itself.
Ejecting the devices in the column browser seems to stop this behavior from happening, but that means I cannot sync or charge my devices while I'm trying to do anything else on my computer.

I don't have iTunes misbehaving so badly, taking over as if to posses the computer. However it does seem to be trying real hard to do something! After being open a couple hours, ripping a couple CD's it begins to use excessive CPU 50 - 70 % on my 2011 MBP i7 8GB. The tempature then raises excessively. I use iStat and Fan Control to keep it tamed. It is obvious it is iTunes because once it wants to creep over 170 degrees F with fans at 4100 RPM I feel compelled to close it. CPU usage and temputare decrease to normal immediately.
Just upgraded to Mountain Lion. Have suffered the wireless hang, and now this.

  • Where is the iTunes Widget in Mountain Lion?

On the Apple website, it states there are several pre-installed widgets with Mountain Lion, including the iTunes widget (http://support.apple.com/kb/PH11233). However, when I open the dashboard, I cannot see the iTunes widget that I used to use all the time on Snow Leopard for playing iTunes songs/playlists etc...
I was able to download the iTunesTan widget from the Dashboard Widgets page of the Apple site (http://www.apple.com/downloads/dashboard/?r=dbw). It works in a similar way, but what about the Apple version, is that still available?

Having done a bit more digging online, it seems that the iTunes widget was discontinued as of Lion. I intend to contact Apple Support to confirm this... but for now, it seems the closest thing to the iTunes widget that actually works on Mountain Lion is the "iTunesTan" widget.
This link provides a second link to a download of the iTunes widget taken from Snow Leopard: http://apple.stackexchange.com/questions/19088/how-do-i-get-the-itunes-play-cont rol-widget-back-in-dashboard
If you have backups of a Snow Leopard system, you can also get a copy of the widget from your backup... but I have done that on Mountain Lion and the widget fails to work, so unfortunately the iTunes widget appears to be obsolete as of Mountain Lion.

  • Mountain Lion - iTunes WiFi Sync and Remote Stopped Working

    OS X Mountain Lion 10.8
iTunes stops connecting wirelessly to both my iPad and iPhone with no settings changed on any of the three devices. Only change made in the last 2 hours was enabling of Photo Stream on the iPhone and iPad. Other than this, I have fiddled with no settings on my computer or on the iPad or iPhone.
    - Home Sharing is ON and active. WiFi is working on all three devices and all are able to access the internet.
    - All devices on the same network.
    - WiFi sync is enabled on both devices in the iTunes settings, but both disappear upon being unplugged
    - Remote is unable to find to my iTunes library on either device, and I am unable to access Home Sharing from the Music app on either device.
    - No firewall settings have been modified at any given time.
Why is this happening? I have turned Photo Stream off on both devices since this stopped working, but it's made no difference. What has caused it to stop? This is so annoying...

I saw a tip elsewhere to go into Keychain Access and clean out any saved passwords that relate, even preipherally, to the Exchange account in question.   I did that, and now it seems to sync all calendar events.   This may be a coincidence, or it may not.    You decide

  • HT4854 I downloaded Mountain Lion, now can't find it, to install. About this Mac, says I am still on 10.7.4

Last night, I downloaded Mountain Lion. I watched, as an unfamiliar screen came up, showing the download progress, when it was all over, my desktop went back to looking and acting just like Lion. I tried restarting it, nothing. I tried restarting again, nothing. I performed a "Find" for Mountain Lion, nothing. I performed a "Find" for OSX 10.8, nothing. I am simply trying to install it on the computer I downloaded it to.
What am I doing wrong? I wrote an email to Apple support, and got a "canned" email back, telling me how to generically retrieve downloads from the App Store. But, by following those directions, I do not see (nor did I expect to see) Mountain Lion in my iTunes. I see it in my download history, but no method to install it, which I thought it was doing, last night, when I bought and thought I was downloading it.

Open Launchpad and see if "Install Mountain Lion ..." is displayed. If it is then you will find the application in your Applications folder.
Normally, the applicaton launches automatically after it is downloaded. You would have to click on the Install button in order to start the upgrade.

  • I want to create a USB drive for Mountain Lion and have no discs

I have a nice shiny new 27: iMac and was hoping to create a USB boot drive in case I need it. The iMac does not come with a disk drive and Mountain Lion is purchased via the App Store, so there are no disks with which to build the boot drive. I tried downloading Mountain Lion again from the App Store, but it tells me Mountain Lion is not compatible with this computer. (yes, the computer that is running Mountain Lion right now)
iTunes Support is not very helpful. They keep telling me that I can't make a boot drive and are unable to help me download if from the App Store.
Surely Apple has created a way to build a boot drive in the case of emergency. There will be no way to defrag my hard drive if I am unable to boot from the USB drive.

You have one on your iMac, the recovery partition. Your iMac is not compatible with the App Store version so don't try.
Install OSX on to a thumb drive if you want, it's a waste of time compared to using Recovery.

  • Can you download OSX Mountain Lion more than once on your computers after paying the $19.99

If I purchase mountain lion on my itunes/app store account, can I use that same account on my other mac to download mountain lion without paying another $19.99? I am currently waiting for my email for a free copy but If i can do multiple downlaods without paying extra, I would rather purchase it so I can download mountain lion on my ineligible computer and my newer one too

yes, you can install ML on all the macs you own as long as you use the same Mac App Store ID singing into each of them.

  • IPhone Auto-Sync/ Import in Mountain Lion

Whenever I connect my iPhone 4 to my MacPro 5,1 (10.8 Mountain Lion) it opens iTunes and Image Capture tries to access my camera roll even though I have checked off the options for auto-import and auto-sync in both said programs.
What's going on? Is there a setting on the iPhone itself that I don't know about?

Maybe this setting in Image Capture?

  • I'm trying to use Mountain Lion Server so my family can have separate logins via Screen Share to their iTunes.

Using Mountain Lion Server so my family can have separate logins and connect via Screen Share.
Works great, each has their own home directory and permissions are perfect.
Now setting up iTunes for each with their own Library (not shared), thus keeping multiple Libraries.
    I get this;
This Computer is already associated with an Apple ID.
If you download past purchases with your Apple ID, you
cannot auto-download past purchases with a different
    Apple ID for 90 days.
    What!
So what it is on the same computer, they are completely separate Libraries never to be mixed.
If this works, I only need to keep one computer up and running, instead of three.
Each can do their syncing/backup and connect to the various Airplay/AppleTVs I have around the house.
    How do I fix this.
    Thanks

Bottom line is you can't - easily.
You need to make sure that you log out of the server each time otherwise the ID is running. To explain, if you had a laptop with different people using it, your solution works fine. Each time someone logs in, the iTunes ID is different so it works as you can only have one person using the laptop at any one time.
Now, turning your problem inside-out, you want people to be able to log into iTunes concurrently to use their own version of the program with their own library. This does not seem to work and you get the conflicted ID error message. Even though iTunes is running under their own login ident, I have never been able to get this working reliably and was told that iTunes is NOT a network-aware application as it is designed to be single user.
The way I got around this was to login as XYZ and to make sure that the ID was changed in iTunes accordingly. However, it did not always work so I gave up with the whole thing.
