Mountain Lion Calendar 'Search'

The 'Search' function in my Mountain Lion Calendar does not work. Any suggestions please?

Hmmm...  Is there really no one else out there that has this problem?  Because I'd think searching a calendar program by date range would be a fairly important thing to be able to do.  Perhaps I'm doing it wrong?  Maybe there's an FAQ somewhere?
Thanks,
Tom S.

SnoozeMaster is now avaiable from the Mac App Store, for MacOS X 10.8 and up.

It addresses this exact issue. You'll be able to configure different pre-set snooze times, enter custom snooze times when an alarm triggers, etc. It's what snoozing should've been from the get go.

  • Mountain Lion calendar and notes sync problems with exchange server via WLAN

After upgrading to Mountain Lion calendar and notes do not sync anymore with my exchange server via WLAN. There are no syncing problems via ethernet if WLAN is deactivated. Mail works fine with both connection types. Similar problems known? Solutions?
    Thanks for any ideas.

Exact same issue ... cropped up in the past 2 weeks. Constantly syncing and re syncing. Watching calendar events show up and disappear. Tried all the normal stuff including deleting and re setting up the entire acct ... no luck. It built out the whole calendar correctly ( from what I could tell) and then started to sync again and appointments randomly appeared and disappeared .....

  • Mountain Lion calendar .ics invitations don't go to date of event

    Hi there,
I installed Mountain Lion recently as a stepping stone to Mavericks.
When I receive Calendar invitations in the form of .ics attachments and open them Calendar does not take me to the event.
This means that I have to trawl through Calendar trying to find the event before I can see if it clashed with anything else and accept it.
I was using Snow Leopard before and .ics files would always take me to the correct date on the Calendar.
Ant ideas on how to fix this would be greatly appreciated.
I've searched the forums for hours but not come up with anything.  Possibly because I'm not entering the correct search terms?  I don't know and I'm frustrated by this new foible.
    Many thanks,
    Richard.

  • Mail 6.2 in Mountain Lion-Irrelevant Search Results Show Up

    Hi Mail(.app)ers,
I use Mail.app (version 6.2) on Mountain Lion, with one email account—my Google Apps email—via IMAP, with all folders (aka "mailboxes) synchronized with the Google servers—i.e. nothing exclusively on my local machine—with the exception of my "Drafts" folder. There are something like 12,000 emails altogether.
Anyway… I use the search bar a lot, and I'm getting this peculiar thing where a word I type will display a list of all emails containing that word, as per usual, but the list also has some emails that don't have that word in it, or in the headers. When I search within an email that shows up on the list for the exact word that produced it as a result for containing that word, there are zero results. It's not a terrible deal, but an annoyance, and these discussions are full of things that aren't terrible but are annoyances. Anyway… just wondering… does this happen with anyone else?

Thanks. No dice though, same with rebuilding the mailbox. It's the IMAP boxes that are messed up—just the "Trash - Gmail," "Sent - Gmail," and "Inbox - Gmail," whereas  the 9 folders that I've made are fine.

  • Mountain Lion Calendar won't launch my Applescript

I've just upgraded to Mountain Lion and find that my previously automatically launched Applescripts, open but do not run.
In 10.6, to run scripts unattended, I just created an Ical event with an alert that ran the script.
This event was saved in the upgrade. My script still works, but now Calendar just *opens* the script. It doesn't run it.
So where are you supposed to schedule things like this in Mountain Lion?
For those who care - what the script does is copy text from a Safari page and save it to a text file.
I need it to run every half hour.
It doesn't run anymore, unless I am there to click the "run" button when calendar opens the script.

Problem solved with thread titled (re)Enable iCalendar ability to execute AppleScript

  • Mountain lion finder search scroll bug

    Hi all,
I've found another major bug in Mountain Lion. Previous bugs include:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/19426052?ac_cid=op123456#19426052
This bug is in the Finder scrolling function in a search window.
When searching for a file in Finder (or through Spotlight -> then clicking "Show all in Finder"), the results appear as normal. However, when scrolling down the finder window, the content keeps resetting to the top of the list, making it extremely difficult to find anything that is not displayed in the available window space.
Hope this gets noticed & fixed in the next update.
    Regards

I've had this same Spotlight results scroll focus change OS bug ever since Mountain Lion. I've observed it on 3 different macbook pros, both with an upgrade to Mountain Lion from Lion, and also a complete CLEAN install of Mountain Lion on a brand new disk where I've not dragged over any system files, preferences or apps. For me, all ML exhibit this bug from 10.8 to the most current 10.8.3.
I have not edited the Search Results categories that are selected (in Preferences > Spotlight)
The only time this has not occurred is in the first 2 days of the using the clean install of ML. The scroll focus behaved correctly even with a lot of results. It's now been a week since the clean install and the scroll focus change bug is now active again since day 3. It is possible to scroll slowly with the mouse wheel/gesture and it won't always (10% of the time?) snap focus to the top.
Thanks for the reference link above, but it was not helpful to me:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/12261261#12261261
The thread refers to OS 10.6., and I did not observe this bug in that OS, or 10.7.
One recommendations is to delete the plist (preferences), but this is not a practical solution because the problem comes back quickly.
The other recommendation is to turn off calculate size of files or the Spotlight results folder. It is not possible, as far as I can see, to turn calculate sizes on in the View Options for the Spotlight results window. It is possible to turn on/off sizes as a column in the results, but this made no difference with the bug.
Other tests I've performed that did not fix the bug:
Change "Show scroll bars:" to  "Always". This made no difference.
Change "Click in the scroll bar to:" to "Jump to the spot that's clicked". No difference.
Other tests that could be performed:
    1) System Preferences > Spotlight: Search Results - turn categories on and off to see if that makes a difference.
And finally, this has reduced the problem to occurring only 10% of the time now!
turn off Smooth Scrolling. This is no longer a checkbox in System Preferences > Appearance in 10.8 ML, so you have to use a shell command in Terminal. If you want to explore this approach look at these two references:
    http://hints.macworld.com/article.php?story=20120726122633912
    http://www.marekbell.com/how-to-disable-smooth-scrolling-in-mountain-lion/
Now I'm waiting to see if other parts of the ML OS will be negatively affected by turning off Smooth Scrolling, and then I'll decide which is worse. Bottom line, this is not a fix, but it seems to have reduced the occurrence of the Spotlight results scroll focus change OS bug.

  • OS X Mountain Lion calendar app not syncing with iPhone 4 calendar.

After installation I noticed that my OS X calendar was not syncing with my iPhone 4 calendar running version 5.1.1. Any sugestions to fix this issue.

Please note that all my settings are exactly the same as they were in Lion. I do not use iCloud and I like to sync thru iTunes via WIFI and USB. After further research I have discovered that this issue is seems to be with Mountain Lion. Obviously, Apple needs to update iOS 5.1.1 or release a fix for Mountain Lion.

  • Mountain Lion Mail Searching not working (entire search)

    Hello,
I already searched the web and the topics in this forum, but found no help.
Since my update from 10.7 to 10.8 (with a clean install and a transition of my user data) the search 'Entire Message' oder 'any' does not work anymore. It shows no results.
This is very strange since Spotlight is still able to find content inside Mail messages.
There are some posts for similiar questions suggesting to rebuild either the whole spotlight index or just rebuild the mail index.
Others suggest to rebuild the mail database by either deleting the files inside the folder of the library or use the menu command in Mail.
Others suggest to check the rights of the mail folder and its content inside the user's library folder.
I tried all of this. Nothing helped yet.
    Thanks for help
    carl

I really tried everything but nothing helped.
But finally I solved the problem.
I made a timemachine backup (just for safety reasons).
Then I installed Mountain Lion again over the existing installation.
(I used a USB Stick with Mountain Lion to do that.)
    Now everything works great.

  • Mountain Lion Calendar problem

    hey everyone
I have just upgraded to Mountain Lion, but I am having a small problem.  My iphone and ipad will share calendar dates via the cloud but for some reason I cannot seem to get my mac to communiate with either so the mac will not pick up the calendar on my phone and ipad.  Any advice, I realize this is probably something simple, but I am just not seeing it.

I am still having problems.  Things are either really slow in showing up or not really doing so at all.  I added an event on my ipad and then nothing shows up on my phone or mac, but some things that got deleted on one are gone on the others
Are old dates on the phone/ipad non-syncable and only newer dates show up?  I tried this too and its not showing up

  • Outlook 2011 and mountain lion calendar sync issues... resolved (kinda)

Okay... I never really post to these boards, but I'm fairly ticked off that OS X keeps tampering with MS Office and it's syncing with iTunes and, ultimately, my iPhone.  Apple support tried to push me onto the iCloud, but I'm not going to use that crappy feature. After many hours of trying to fix the calendar sync issue with MS Office 2011, I found a workaround:
    1.  Get the apple reminders set up to recognize the OS X Calendar program.
    2.  Confirm that your Outlook calendar data is recognized in the OS X Calendar program (it was always there for me)
    3.  Install MS Office 2008 (Entourage) --- You don't have to use it, but the older program still syncs with Mountain Lion.
    4.  Sync your iphone with itunes and ensure that your Calendars are erased (uncheck the Calendar sync box).
    5.  Click on the "Replace Information on this iPhone) for Calendars.
    6.  Re-sync the iPhone with iTunes.
    7.  The data should go up with no problem.
IF you are still having problems...
    1.  go to OS X "Calendar" and Add a new calendar called "Home".
    2.  move the Outlook data to the Home calendar (just drag and drop).
    3.  Repeat steps 4-7 above.
Since I've done these changes, everything directly syncs.
Hope this helps, and don't lose faith.  MS will come up with some type of patch.

Outlook 2011 is not compatible with iCloud, it won't work and your 'workaround' may affect iCloud clients on the same account.
    Don't use 2011.

  • Mountain lion calendar dialog not closing

My Mountain Lion calender suddenly started to refuse to close editing dialogs. It started when I tried to change the calender of an event (created by invitation from another person). The 'done' button has no effect.
I can doubleclick another event thus changing the open edit dialog to that event, but I cannot close the dialog. If I quit and reopen the dialog reappears.
I can save no changes nor create new events.
I've quit and reopened, I havge restarted the Msc (MavBook Air, early 2011).
    Anyone else?

Please note that all my settings are exactly the same as they were in Lion. I do not use iCloud and I like to sync thru iTunes via WIFI and USB. After further research I have discovered that this issue is seems to be with Mountain Lion. Obviously, Apple needs to update iOS 5.1.1 or release a fix for Mountain Lion.

  • Mountain Lion Calendar is stripped of Publish options?

    Here is my issue:
I have Outlook 2011 and it will only sync it's calendar with an On My Mac calendar.
10.7 (Lion) version of iCal only supported publishing to MobileMe or a private server. That's no good for me.
So I upgraded to 10.8 hoping the new Calendar would feature publishing to iCloud. Nope.
In fact the only publishing option for On My Mac calendars in 10.8 is a private server.
I created an account with a server (fruux.com) but it still doesn't work.
How can I sync my On My Mac calendar with Google or any other private server... or iCloud?
    Help please!

Outlook 2011 is not compatible with Cloud services unless they are Microsoft cloud services (Exchange) This is Microsofts choice.
Check with Google whether they have a utility that works around MS's limitations.
I would use something other than Outlook if I wanted to use iCloud or other Cloud services, Mail, Contacts and Calendars are compatible, and they are on your Mac.
One user claims to have found a workaround to use Google, reprinted below.
I finally found a work around to synchronize Outlook 2011 with Google Calendar!
First I set up Sync Services to sync my Outlook 2011 calendar to iCal calendar. I make sure that I have all the categories that I want to have in my Outlook and create some event for each category so that it gets created in the iCal calendar as well.
Then I downloaded this software called "Spanning Sync 3", installed it and set it up with my Google account (Spanning Sync is a paid software with a 15 day trial if you want to try it first). After that, I can do the setup for syncing the iCal with the Google Calendar by mapping the categories in iCal to the categories in the Google account.
What happens is that when you create, modify or delete an event in Outlook, this event gets synced to iCal which in turn gets picked up by Spanning Sync and syncs to Google Calendar. Similarly, any changes in Google Calendar gets synced to iCal via Spanning Sync which in turn gets synced back to Outlook. This solution does not involve CalDAV to sync to Google Calendar.
Hope this will help someone else out there

  • Mountain lion calendar smart event adding bug for 24h clock

I have checked it with Polish locale settings but problem should be everywhere when 24h clock is selected:
When adding event "alarm jutro o 5:00" (means: alarm tomorrow at 5:00) - Calendar app is adding alarm at 17:00 not 5:00. Seems to be bug.

Under System Preferences > Date & Time, click the "Clock" tab near the top and check "Use a 24-hour clock".

  • Mountain Lion Calendar New Syncing Problems

I have had all my macs and my IOS devices synced through iCloud since it was MobileMe.   Everything has been wonderful (mostly) in terms of syncing, but in recent days, I have an issue where one of my calendars will no longer show events on the Macs.
At the beginning of the school year, I created a new iCloud calendar for my daughter's school.   I then uploaded a calendar export into that calendar so I could sync her school events across all of our devices.   Everything was wonderful.   Just a few weeks ago, I noticed that the events on that one calendar NO LONGER show on ANY of the Mac's - I think this is since the 10.8.2 update.    It only happens on this particular calendar.
Note that all of the events still show on icloud.com.   All of the events still show on my IOS devices.   They just stopped showing on my Mac's.   The other calendars show just fine.   I've gone through removing iCloud sync and re-enabling, but I get the same results.   I can add new events on any of the devices and they show up across platforms and online.   It's just those original 200+ events on the calendar that I put in for her school that no longer show.   Again - they showed fine for 2-3 months...
    Please help!

    Back up all data.
Delete the problem calendar accounts in the Mail, Contacts & Calendars preference pane, then add them back. Make sure the account details are correct. Test. If it still doesn't work, please describe in more detail what happens.
