Mountain Lion - Connect FTP Server

I have never been able to connect Finder to my FTP server since upgrading to Mountain Lion. I can connect with Firezilla, other FTP apps and Console but when attempting to connect in Finder (GO > Connect to Server), the connect attempt window just spins and eventually shakes it's head like a bad password, which works with other FTP apps. How is everyone mounting FTP sites in Finder? Not?

Hello,
I have yet to setup this up but it does not make any sense to me as to why the admin would have to login to the local computer to get updated. This defeats the whole point in my opinion. You can try giving the network user admin rights of the computer and see if it works.
1. Login as the network user.
2. Open System preferences and go to users and groups.
3. Check the box "Allow user to administer this computer"
You may have to restart and then test it to see.
The only other thing I can think of trying on the local side is joining the computer to server if you already have not done this.
Thanks,
ebrind

  • Receive email delay one hour using Mac Mail client (Mountain Lion) connect Exchange Server 2010

    Hi all,
My boss use iPhone, iPad, MacBook Air (Mac Mail client), MacPro (Mac Mail client) connect Exchange Serve 2010 to receive emails. All clients are okay except MacBook Air, the Mac Mail client cannot receive the latest emails from Exchange Server, but it can receive (sync) the emails after one hour. The other clients can receive the latest email after Exchange Server receive new emails immediately.
In this period, the MacBook Air can receive the other IMAP, POP3 and webmail from ISP normally. I tried to set 5 mins to check emails or manual check email from Exchange Server. However, the latest email still delay one hour.......... .
I dumped a screenshot for Mac Mail setting for Exchange Server and a Log file.
could anyone help me to solve this issue?
    Thanks

I am not sure what the user has the check for new messages set for but mail does arrive as short as 2 minutes.  It does however arrive on his iphone immediately first.

  • Issue with Network Home Users on Mountain Lion ( connecting to Lion Server)

I have been forced to setup a network user on a new mac running mountain lion because their old mac just went pop, and have run into multiple issues that I have narrowed down to them being a Network User on Mountain Lion.
    1. Contacts get deleted whenever you open Mail. Mail will hang on fist launch until all your contacts in Contacts (I hate the new names! ) get deleted, console shows that the location for the address book database is invalid, seems to be an issue with ~/Library/Containers/apple.mail.com folder
    2. Word documents with images in the background do not display correctly, there is a giant red cross through the document
If I change this network user to a mobile home user the problems go away and everying works as expected

How to re-enable the Apple-provided Java SE 6 applet plug-in

  • Create a bootable Mountain Lion OS X Server installer ?

With Lion and Lion Server it was possible to create a Lion Server installer just bij adding a ServerVersion.plist file in the folder CoreServices.
Adding that enabled the normally greyed-out 'Customize'-button that installed the Server.app and ServerEssentails.pkg (nevertheless an internet connection was still required).
I don't go in details here too much but is a similar procedure possible for Mountain Lion ? To install OS X Server in one row ?

Not that I am aware of.  If you find a way please disclose.
I fear that this is no longer possible and the reason I say this is that we have already gotten a few BTO mini Servers arriving with Mountain Lion + Server.app installed.  However, if you erase the drive and perform and Internet restore you no longer get Mountain Lion + Server.app installed.  You get Mountain Lion and then need to go to the App Store, associate the device with an Apple ID which grants you access to Server.app for download.

  • Mountain Lion: Connect To Old MySQL Data

I'm trying to connect to my old MySQL databases after upgrading to 10.8. They are definitely on the computer. I can see them in the /usr/local/mysql folder. I can even connect to them using Sequel Pro, but I can't get PHP or Apache to work with it.
    Any tips?

If you are running Mountain Lion Server 10.8.
AND you are trying to get PHP and MySQL to work, consider this.
I spent the better part of a day following all of the recommendations in the forums and around the web.
Nothing worked. It turns out the database file I loaded from my 5.0.92 production mysql into 5.0.96 on the new 10.8 mac mini server somehow corrupted the localhost passwords.
I COULD log in remotely, but I could not connect via localhost on a php page.
Turns out the localhost passwords got corrupted. I reset the password for the account and the site started working just fine.
If all else fails try resetting your password and perhaps the connection will start working.

  • Mountain lion connection problems:

    Here is the set up.
We were once an all PC office, but as the PC's have been biting the dust, we've installed Macs. One of the two remaining PC's died, so we installed a new Mac mini in it's place.
Now, this Mac Mini is the only Mountain Lion machine in the office. It is hooked to the intranet, and can see and interact with the Internet. BUT, I've tried to do two things unsuccessfully:
    1) Connect to our internal image server which is an older X-Serve (Quad core Xeon) running 10.6.8
    2) Make contact with my Remote Desktop (running the most current version--updated earlier today) from my Mac Pro running 10.7.5
The first goal was # 2, as I'm travelling, and can't sit at the machine itself. But, I've verified that all of the network settings, the sharing settings etc, are all identical on the Mountain lion machine as they are on the Lion and Snow Leopard machines that connect just fine and can be controlled just fine.
I gather that Mountain lion is different enough that there must be some other default setting that needs to be adjusted. Suggestions please!!
    Thanks in advance.
    Adam

I'm having similar problems with a 2012 13" MacBook Air. It's brand new, came installed with Mountain Lion.
I get disconnected from the wireless randomly and the wireless icons turns gray. Like you, I have an iPad, multiple computers and they all work fine.
Instead of restarting the router, I go into Safari and do a network diagnostics and it picks up the connection easily enough.
No solution as of yet, but I posted a topic here if you want to follow it:

  • Mountain Lion Mac Mini Server Ethernet Port Not Working

I have a Mac Mini Server and once I upgraded to Mountain Lion Server the Ethernet port is unresponsive. It worked before upgrading. Is there something with Mountain Lion Server that is causing the Ethernet port not to work properly?

Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to an empty drive from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.

  • Error time out to connect FTP server

    Hi Experts,
I am getting the error in receiver communication channel (FTP) as :
An error occurred while connecting to the FTP server ''. The FTP server returned the following error message: 'com.sap.aii.adapter.file.ftp.FTPEx: The control connection to the FTP server ""  timed out while reading the server reply.'. For details, contact your FTP server vendor.
Getting this error for a particular interface. Changed the time out parameter but not working.
the same IP address is used for same receiver but different interface and it is in green status.
tried to restart the adapter but same time out error.
Same configuation is done for two receiver channels .. but getting above error for a particular interface. Please help.
    Thanks,
    Swapnashree

    Hi Swapna,
If you are facing problem with only one interface then you make some dummy changes in configuration(ID) to that perticular channel and activate.
After doing this you just restart your communication channel and check if you have any luck.....
Also check if you have permissions ......for the user and folder which you are accing in your channel...

    Hi David,
I'm not sure about it but maybe you should try it :
    InetFTPLogin("127.0.0.1" , " ", " ");
    (without "ftp://")

  • I have problems to connect iCal 6.0 (Mountain Lion) with Exchange Server 2007

I used ICal with Exchange Server 2007 without problems with Lion. After I adopted Mountain it has been impossible to use ICal and I have obliged to use Outlook because It was not possible to connect ICal with Server.
I reinstalled Mountain and rebuilt Outlook data base, canceled cache and so on but without results. How cn I do?

I was having problems with this too. I remember it working okay in iOS 7 and then it breaking in iOS 8.
Fortunately, I'm now on the iOS 8.1 beta, and can confirm it's working fine for me. Just how it used to. - I guess that's one of the bugs that Apple's new software will bust. We'll just have to wait it out.

  • Mountain Lion Software Update Server?

Let me start by saying that I am no server administrator, but was convinced that setting up a Mac Server on a MacMini would be relatively straightforward due to Apple's history and claims...
Server app. Your own mini IT department.
The Mac is famously easy to use, and so is Mac mini withOS X Server. That makes it perfect for people who’ve never run a server before, or for overtaxed IT departments. The Server app will walk you through the setup process step by step. And if you want help at any stage, just choose the Help menu or click the Next Steps button.
Well, it's not really working for me...
After two weeks of internet research and changing setting on the server (a 2011 Mac Mini with RAID 1 1TB drives - I upgraded myself) and the later Server app running on top of 10.8.2 (installed from software recovery on new drives) I have been able to get my Mac computers (a MacBook Pro and an iMac both running 10.8.2) to connect to the server and have it operate as a file server.
Several users now have their own log in details and home directories (on the server) and iTunes is operating using 'Home Share' from the server to all clients.
I've been trying to set up the Software Update Server and have, I think, successfully set up the server with the correct address and turned on the service. (I'd post a screen shot, but there is little to see: the 'button' is on and the settings are on 'Automatic'. All updates now show as 'Enabled' after about 3 days of the service running.
I am using address: http://myservernamehere.local:8088/index.sucatalog in Profile Manager on the server under 'Software update' in 'Device Groups' (I have added the computers to the group). I cannot find any other settings to adjust on the server, and have had little luck following Apple support documents.
I have reviewed this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2794 and read this page: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4069 and generally gone round in circles.
Can anyone explain in simple terms why the App store on the clients keeps showing an update available (Java for OS X 2013-002 1.0) and when I click on 'Update' I get the error 'Could not connect to the server.(-1004)'
I'm totally confused by this and will dispute Apple's claims that "It is perfect for people who have never run a server before".

  • Mountain Lion and Network Server

I am new to the Mac world and now have a super iMac working with Mountian Lion, Paralles 8 & Windows. I have a synology NAS and, with NetDrive everything works pretty well.
I want the principal folders of the NAS to appear on my Desktop when I boot or wake-up after sleep and this works well too. However, Finder opens each of these primary folders so before I can work I have to close an open window for each of about 10 folders. This is tedious. Of cours, I need to open the primary folders on the NAS at times but to have all oepn on starting the computer is not what I want.
What I have I not got right? I want to see the primary folders on my desktop. I need to be able to use Finder to get into them. I do not want to have each of them open automatically eacht time I start the computer. Can anyone help?

    Thanks for your reply.
I believe I got it to work, but,... How do you get the network account users to show up on the login window of the client computer? The login window shows the name of the client computer and the local accounts on the client computer. When I select Other in the login list I can login using a network account user id and it logs in. The network account user names do not show up on the login window
