Mountain lion crash using photobooth iphoto

Mountain Lion has crashed 56 times since I installed it 3 days ago. No matter what browser I use it crashes. Mostly when i'm streaming video is when it crashes.

you might need to reinstall ML from the Recovery Partition.
To get to the recovery partition restart your computer,  hold CMD+R down when you hear the boot up chime. Open Disk Utility first (verify your boot disk and repair if needed) and then close it and reinstall ML.

Using mountain lion operating system, downoaded iphoto 9.4 update, aperature 3.4.3 update and still cannot access photo stream.  now what??

With Aperture, you should be able to use Photo Stream now, but you need iPhoto 9.4.2 > http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1608
After updating iPhoto to the latest version, open System Preferences > iCloud and tick Photo Stream. Finally, you will have to turn on Photo Stream on iPhoto and Aperture choosing Photo Stream on the sidebar of both programmes

  • Mountain lion crashed?

here with chronological review of what happened
26/7  downloaded Mountain Lion, which took abt 20 hrs
very happy with the new features
after about a week, things on my computer got slower. So via checking the internet, I managed to find a solution and reloaded Mountain Lion after using first the recovery Disk.
Everything worked fine again for a week, then started again. I tried to do the same thing again like last time it crashed, but now I cannot reload because error message says that HD is locked and I dont know how to unlock.
2ndly I cannot reboot, after 1 min, seeing the apple logo and a "loadbar" the computer shutsdown again.
I tried option/command/p/r but I dont get any further.
    Any suggestions from your side?
I have my Imac since medio July 2011 and was happy with Lion but excited to have an improved Mountain Lion. But now I am stuck and not that happy anymore.
Hope someone can give a suggestion which solves my problem. If not I have to bring it back to the shop.
    Tks, G

find a solution and reloaded Mountain Lion after using first the recovery Disk.
And it no longer boots from that either?
If not I think you'll have to take it in, but one last thing to try...
Does it boot to Single User Mode, CMD+s keys at bootup, if so try...
    /sbin/fsck -fy
Repeat until it shows no errors fixed.
(Space between fsck AND -fy important).
Resolve startup issues and perform disk maintenance with Disk Utility and fsck...

  • Mountain Lion Crashes on resume from sleep

Is anyone else having problems with Mountain Lion crashing frequently on resume from sleep?  I have tried using both the default "sleep and hibernate" mode and switching to hibernate only.  In both modes, OSX "gray" screens just after it appears to finish resuming from sleep mode.  This is an Early 2011 MBP 15" with a clean Lion upgraded to Mountain Lion.
It is starting to look like another failed upgrade, "sigh". I haven't had any luck with OSX OS upgades and always seems like I end up rebuilding.

Same happening here. I also have a problem with Mail.app crashing when I close the window with cmd+w. My upgrade to Mountain Lion was applied Lion that had been migrated from my old MacBook.
The migrated setup was working fine for just over a week before I upgraded to Mountain Lion. Unfortunately I didn't check that Time Machine was backing up my machine and it turns out I don't have that as an option of rolling back to Lion.
Hoping that a fix is found to both problems. Fairly confident given that other people are reporting the same, even on a clean upgrade.

Even though I have LCD font smoothing disabled, Mountain Lion still uses it in PDF views, Safari’s location bar, Mail’s message view, and the dialogs for mounting encrypted disk images. Is there any solution to this problem? Also diabled the Smoothing in the SystemPrefs and also via Terminal. Font smoothing is still there. Very annoying, especially in PDF attachments in Apple Mail.

Try feeding Safari a user-defined CSS file with font-smoothing tweaks (including none). The filename and its filesystem location are arbitrary. Use your favorite coding editor.

Back up your present iPhoto library. Install the new version of iPhoto. When you run it for the first time it will want to update the library. When it's finished you should be good to go.

12/13/2014 I suddenly no longer stream videos because of a blocked plug in on my Mac Safari 5.1.10  MacOSX 10.6.8
updated to snow leopard& mountain lion I use adobe flash. My preferences allow all plug ins.

If my experience with a similarly aged computer is any indicator, you'll notice an immediately speed hit once you've upgraded to Mavericks. Each OS X update tends to be more memory hungry than the previous and my 2007 iMac wasn't happy with Lion until I upgraded the RAM and at that point Lion performance roughly matched Snow Leopard. Mountain Lion and then Mavericks shaved some speed off again. Mavericks on the 2007 iMac was okay for the most part but switching between applications was slow as was the fileselector.
My 2009 MBP saw similar slowdowns with Lion but I was above to upgrade it to 8GB which made a big difference. (My iMac was limited to 6GB) but I still saw a significant speed hit with Mt Lion when I tried to run multiple memory intensive applications. Seeing how my wife's MacBook Air dealt with Mt Lion with only 4GB I decided to install an SSD in the MBP and wow what a difference. Tried it with the iMac using a FireWire800 enclosure and saw similar improvement.
So to boil it down to one sentence, you are going to see a significant speed hit with only 4GB but if you can afford to upgrade your drive to an SSD you'll be amazed at how well that computer can run.

If you're running Mac OS X 10.8.x ou can purchase iPhoto version 9.x from the App Store. If you purchase iPhoto at the App Store you will automatically get the most up-to-date version and you won't need to install the 9.4 update.

  • Another Mountain Lion Crash

    Hi,
I have just had Mountain Lion crash, and not for the first time in the last few weeks.  Neither the keyboard or trackpad were responding so I had to do a hard reset.
There was no crash report, but I have copied the following from the console report, there are a few recurring errors, but can anyone suggest what may have gone wrong?

    Hi,
I think these were the last messages before I rebooted.  The Mac froze just as I was opening an incoming mail (ironically it was from Apple Support re another issue).  The only programmes I had open were iTunes, Mail and Print programme.
The only devices connected were the wired keyboard and printer and NAS connected through network.
It initially crashed around 7.40pm, but I didn't reboot until around 20:20 after dinner.  I have posted some of the messages around the time of reboot (immediately below) and other messages further down when it crashed around 19.40
    All help gratefully received.
