Mountain Lion did not detect the 1gb graphic memory
I have the MBP 15'' Retina Display with NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M with 1GB of GDDR5 memory. After I updated to Moutain Lion, the about menu is show this configuration:
- Monitor Color LCD Integrado (in Lion was Retina Display)
- Placa Gráfica Intel HD Graphics 4000 512 MB (in Lion was 1gb)
What I have to do?

Whichever video card is in use will be shown under displays. Downloadhttp://codykrieger.com/gfxCardStatus. It lets you switch manually between the integrated and discrete graphics. P.S. I have it set to dynamic switch on battery and discrete only when plugged in for the smoothest performance when battery life is not a concern.

I have a retail Audigy 2. Autoupdate recognizes my card and gives me the available list of drivers and applications for download. I download the following:
) Audigy 2 Drivers
2) Audio Console
3) EAX Console
4) Speaker Settings
5) Surround Mixer
The ) Drivers and the 2) Audio console installs just fine. However, for each of the three remaining programs (3, 4, & 5 listed above) upon executing the downloaded file they all give me a pop-up window that says:
?Setup did not detect the required components. Setup will exit.
This happens with all three of them. I want to install these because I am of the understanding that one of these contains the ?Speaker channel test? (for lack of a better word) that will test if my speakers are hooked up correctly to the right channels. The ) drivers, and 2) Audio console do not have that test. I created another post concerning this but nobody has replied:

I also tried unzipping the three executable files with WinRAR, and then executing the Setup.exe files but it yields the same results.
Anyone know why I can't install these applications?!?!?!?!

This is a known problem that has been around for months and they have failed to address, just like many other problems with their soundcards. For the solution to this particular problem, look here:

If you would reread my original post in this thread, that solution did not work for this particular problem of mine. I have a SoundBlaster Li've! Card that this solution worked for, however it does not work of the Audigy 2 card?unzipping the files with WinRar and then running the Setup.exe files produces the same result?setup does not recognize the required components and will close.
I?m not saying that the person who you quoted should not try it though. -
2012 MacbookPro with Mountain Lion did NOT come with disk for drivers
I bought my Macbook Pro around Christmas time of 2012 and it had OS X Mountain Lion preinstalled on it. It did NOT come with a backup disk incase I needed to reinstall Mountain Lion on my computer. I want to install Bootcamp. How do I get the Mountain Lion drivers for my Mac? I have drivers for Windows, and I understand that I can put either of these drivers onto a usb or firewire, but how do I acquire the Mountain Lion disk/drivers in the first place?
You shouldn't need Mountain Lion drivers you will only need BootCamp that located in your Utilities folder. Take a look at this link, http://support.apple.com/kb/VI54
Also with Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion equipped Macs, OS DVD no longer shipped with the units, because to reinstall the OS you will need to download the software via your recovery partition on your hard drive. -
iphone 4 after install the iOS 6 wi-fi networks are not detecting on public spot but working on home network.What is the reason for this/ any settings?

Note: All these ideas are a bit lame since you say that some iPhone 5s are connecting OK and they running the same iOS level 6.1 and, i think, have the same Broadcom WiFi chip BCM4334.
All devices are running iOS 6.1 right not 6.0.1, or 6.0.2?
You might want to try your iPad mini on some other WiFi networks to see how it fares there. -
The battery indicator in mountain lion does not show the time left!
I have updated to Mountain Lion today and i noticed that the battery indicator on the top bar only show percentage of the battery, and it don't have the option to show the time left for recharge or to the total discharge of the battery.
The only way to show the time left is to clic on the meter itself.
Any ideas?I'm going to submit a complaint via http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html. I hope others do the same.

Hi there, ipod touch went white. I tried the menu and on/off button for 10 seconds. I also tried connecting to the computer via i tunes. My computer did not detect the ipod? Any other options?

Satellite P505 S8980 Windows 7 Home Premium.
I replaced the Toshiba 500 GB HD with 500 GB Seagate.
Device Manager icon for any device with yellow exclamation mark,
Click on "Update Driver". Lan eNet details as follows:
Antheo - R8132 PCI-E Fast Ethernet Controller (NDIS 6.20)
Browse to the folder where the setup program has the driver...
Message: "The best driver software is already installed."
(But the yellow exclamation mark still harasses me.)

Click on "Connect to the Internet"
Response: "Windows did not detect networking hardware"
As near as I can tell, that translates from error 0x8E5E0247
I have this same error on other yellow exclamation marks respective of what kind of device it is.
=> To test my sanity, I put the old hard drive (same size) back in and except for the impact of slowness due to error retries, everything works okay.
Note:
Same issue (hardware not detected) for Video adapter and Audio.
I bought new USB Wireless adapter to test, and the driver installed but not activated because "not digitally signed", and that same issue fits all the above hardware. I down loaded them from Toshiba, and they are confirmed installed, but not accepted with digitally signed. I have uninstalled and reinstalled with same results.

Go to Solution.I'm discovering I am not as well as I thought... running on the AF hard drive which was built with a copy drive from old format drive which was the product of system recovery disc set.
Review for context: Advanced Function HDD
Scenario that exposes harm caused by cloning data from 4K blocks drive to 512 bytes blocked drive (AF)
Toshiba supplied Windows-7 System Restore Discs: to factory state
Then I built the Windows-7 Repair Disc... used later.
Hard drive was replaced when it caused SMART warning at every system boot.
Acronis was only utility that quickly detected problem (3 sectors had permanent read errors.) Active@Disk Image and Power Quest Drive Image (Ghost) did not detect the issue.
I tried Seagate 500 GB and Western digital 500 GB HDD drives as copy target.
That new drive would not boot: "Required source not found"
Booted My newly created Windows-7 repair disc, and used to to fix startup.

That worked and then the ST9500423AS disc booted.
Now... next day I discovered Window Update is not working.
I get message:
Windows Update cannot currently check for updates, because the service is not running. You need to restart your computer.
I ran Microsoft Fixit for updates. It says it fixed two items.
I still have the problem.
The service shows "started"
Control Panel/ ACTION Center/ Maintenance/ Check for Updates
"No action needed"
"Windows Update does not require any action"
I checked Update History...
... It is empty, else window is vacant... blank.
Soooo..... for a sanity check, I swap out hard drive; go back to the old format (which is the one I copied).
It works! 7 updates to install, including SP1... but I did NOT install them.
Switch back to the AF drive... Update doesn't work. I am broke again.
Is this another strange problem caused by the Advance Format issue?
What to do?
By the way... I did install an Intel storage Matrix driver update, but I do not have RAID chip, so that driver is not for me... unless I missed out on something.

Mainboard did not detect SATA1 HDD
My PC using P965 Platinum Series MS-7238 motherboard, Processor Intel Dual Core 3.0 GHz, 128MB Nvidia G-Force PCI VGA, RAM 1024MB Visipro, HDD 80GB Seagate barracuda 7200rpm SATA1, and I have bought it on 2nd of June 2007. during these periode of time (the date I bought till last week) my PC running well.
Last week 21st of may 2009, I found my PC did not detect my HDD. I have installed the HDD to another PC in order to check whether the problem was caused by my HDD or the motherboard. After I tested the HDD by installing it to another PC, it seems the HDD is in good condition and running well.
After that I try to change the powerd cord and SATA1 cord to the HDD with the brand new one to check if the problem caused by the cords and still my motherboard did not detect the HDD. I am very confused what is wrong with my PC. Please help me to solve this problem so that I can use my PC back.Hi,
the board has two controllers (ICH8R Primary SATA Controller (SATA Ports 1-6)) and JMicron JMB361 (SATA Port 7)). Which SATA Port is your hard drive connected to? The chance that both onboard SATA Controllers or all SATA Ports have been damaged is very low. Try other SATA ports and see if the situation changes if you connect it to a different controller.
Also, have you cleared CMOS with main A/C power cable removed from PSU to see if that changes anything? -
by mistake i ereased my mackbook pro's disk. and when is restared it recovery page opened. and i did not purchase the osx mountain lion. do i have any other way to recory it without purchasing the copy of osx. ?can i do it using a usb having image file of mountain lion?
Did you buy your machine second-hand? That's really the only way you would have to purchase OS X 10.8.x from the App Store... but, yes, if you have a USB thumb drive with a bootable installer (such as made with Lion DiskMaker) you can boot from that and reinstall OS X.

Mountain lion will not download thru the apps store. It has been purchased and redeemed. I have set my energy settings appropriately so computer will not turn off during download as Verizon offers a connection that is very slow. I have set the display to go to sleep (which I have set so I have to sign in again). When I sign in again, Mountain Lion OSX has disappeared from the launchpad. I have tried this several times. I do have Norton Internet Security on my Mac Air. I turned off the idle time scan on the Norton and tried again. Same results. Anyone?
Ask anyone around here, and they will tell you quite differently. AV software will slow down your computer, can be incompatible with software you use, can cause kernel panics and other problems. It is unnecessay since OS X has it's own protection built-in. AV software can no more tell the difference between safe and unsafe sites on your browser than could an elephant.

A few months ago I purchased Snow Leopard, but realized too late that I already had Snow Leapord. What I need is Snow Lion upgrade. I did not open the software. Will they refund refund this or exchange it for the Snow Lion upgrade? Thanks!
All Updates to Snow Leopard are gotten from Software Update or from the Apple download site.
There is no Snow "LION". there is Lion and now Mountain Lion buit both of those are Download Only from the Mac App Store. You need to have Snow Leopard 10.6.6, .7 or .8 to have the Mac Apple store link on your Mac.
To get Lion you need to call the Apple Store, 1-800-MYAPPLE, and order it. They will send you a download code to your Apple ID Email address so you can download it from the Mac Appl Store.
Oh and when you call them to order Lion ask about returning Snow Leopard. -

Hi, I got a virus that does not let me use Safari. I downloaded an av from the app.store but it did not detect anything. I am thinking in formatting the HD. How can I do it and will I lose?
1. Force Quit .
Press command + option + esc keys together at the same time. Wait.
When Force Quit window appears, select the Safari if not already.
Press Force Quit button at the bottom of the window. Wait.
Safari will quit.
Relaunch Safari holding the shift key down.
2. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
Turn those off and try Safari.
3. Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:
Press “Remove all website data” button.
4. If adware is installed without your knowledge,
download free AdwareMedic by clicking “Download ” from here

Install , open, and run it by clicking “Scan for Adware” button to remove adware.

Noise (like a chirping bug) in iMac mid-2010
There is a chirping / bearing failure noise in my mid-2010 27" iMac, upper left when looking at the screen. Computer runs perfectly, hardware checks using the Apple provided software, and at the certified Apple repair shop shows no current problems.
