Mountain lion download will not resume

Finally figured out how to get the program to downlaod but my connection in africa is super slow am trying to downlaod it in increments, downloaded a bit yesterday, came back today to continue but no matter how many times i click resume in the task bar or in the purchases window nothing happens and still says "paused". frustrating.

If you properly pause the download, it should be able to resume without any problem.
When I downloaded Mountain Lion, I paused and resumed hours later without any problem. But when it reached 95% of the download, my internet connection dropped for like 1 minute, and when it came back, the download restarted from zero.
So as long as the internet connection is not dropping during the download, you should be able to resume.

  • Mountain lion download will not start

    Hi
I commenced a download of ML last night, but my internet connection was broken about 1/3 into the download.
On trying to recommence, I am getting 'waiting' status on the ML icon in Launch Pad.  I have restarted my iMac, and attempted a recommencement of the download with no luck.
Can anyone suggest a strategy please?
    Regards - Stan

mountain lion download interrupted and resume button not working

From the App Store menu bar top of your screen, click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads
Keep in mind, for downloading Mountain Lion from the App Store, a high speed (broadband) internet connection is strongly recommended by Apple as noted here > iTUNES STORE - MAC APP STORE - TERMS AND CONDITIONS
If you need to reinstall OS X or repair the the startup disk using Mountain Lion Recovery, that requires broadband access to the internet via Wi-Fi or an Ethernet connection. OS X is downloaded over the internet form Apple when OS X Recovery is used for reinstallation.
You may need to temporarily disable anti virus software to download apps from the App Store including Mountain Lion.
Make sure your Mac qualifies to run Mountain Lion >  Apple - Upgrade your Mac to OS X Mountain Lion.

  • Mountain Lion installer will not let me choose my Lion Partition as an install location

Mountain Lion installer will not let me choose my Lion Partition as an install location.
    Any ideas why?

Again, why will the Mountain Lion installer not allow me to select my Lion partition as the location for the install?
Good question. That's the main way it's supposed to be installed. You shouldn't even need to choose a partition. You purchase Mountain Lion through the App Store, it downloads to the Applications folder and automatically begins the installation on the drive where Lion or Snow Leopard resides as soon as the download is complete.

  • ITunes upgrade download will not resume

Since the beginning iTunes has had one glaring failure in the upgrades. The downloads will not resume. I cannot even pause without it starting from scratch. Torrent technology is old stuff. But evidently too new for iTunes.
For testing do what the pirate sites do - unplug the connection, crash the OS, reboot, etc in the middle of a download. If it is corrupted you are doing it wrong. It should resume with minimal loss of packets. NOT start all over again.

It might also be worth submitting feedback via this form:

  • Mountain lion download interrupted, cannot resume download

    Hello,
I am running Snow Leopard on a MacBook Pro purchased in 2009. I recently purchased Mountain Lion from the App Store. (My system meets all the requirements to download this software.) While attempting to download Mountain Lion, I must have temporarily lost my DSL Internet connection, which is not an uncommon experience in the rural area where I live; it can go off for five minutes then be on again and sometimes does this several times a week. Obviously this paused my download, which looked to be about 50% complete after the first three hours.A shadow mountain lion icon appeared on my dock showing a pause. As per instuctions in Apple Support I went to the Apps store, clicked on purchases and tried to resume my download. The software is listed under my purchases but "resume" was not an option given. So I clicked on the download button thinking I could just start over. The button went from dark to dim as if the download was going to happen but after a few seconds it darkened again and the download did not start. I tried several times. So I looked in this forum again and found a similar problem. The solution given was to go to the application folder, find the icon for the partial download, discard it, then try downloading from the Apps Store again. There was no icon for a partial download in my Application folder. Now I am stymied and very digusted that it is not possible to email Apple support directly with my problem.
By the way I know Mavericks is the latest version of OSX softtware but download that would mean I would have to buy a new printer so I have decided to stick with Mountain Lion which I am already running on my iMac.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Does the downloaded file/app get corrupted
A slow internet connection for huge files like Mountain LIon (4.34 GB), can time out before the file is completely downloaded.
Try this...  from the App Store menu bar top of your screen click Store > Check for Unfinished Downloads.
Something to keep in mind if you need to repair the startup disk or reinstall OS X.

So if it's possible, contact your ISP to see if you can upgrade to a faster connection.

  • LR4 4.2 (Mac Mountain Lion OS) will not import of CF card

My LR4 has stopped importing from my CF card (it will import from other SD and hard drive formats, but not the CF card).
I have tried other readers, as well as creating a brand new catalog (while importing old catalog), then tried to import from CF card to new catalog and it still hangs in the import window.  The import bar does not move and no photo thumbnails show up.
Work arounds that work on the same machine with the same hardware:  I can open LR3 and import photo's to the hard drive, then I can log into LR4 and import from hard drive and just "add" the LR3 imported photo's to my LR4 Catalog.  This is the only way I can get LR4 to import the photo's from my CF card.  Like I said, the reader is not the issue, the card is not the issue, it's LR4!  This is frustrating and I have no reason why it stopped.  I haven't installed any new programs or removed any programs in a long time and yes it did work well after mountain lion install.
I have a late 2011 IMAC with mountain lion installed, 16 gig RAM and 3.4 Sandy Bridge CPU.  Help, thanks

PS.  Ideally I want to remove my LR3 and all it's catalogs as I move into 2013 but now I am afraid too because it's my only saving grace right now.  I have seperate catalogs from 2000 thru 2012 in each version of LR so as you can imagine my hard drive is getting a bit full.  My 2012 has nearly 13.5k photo's in it.. hoping that's not the issue.

  • Mountain Lion downloaded, but not installed.

I recently download Mountain Lion, but when the download finished, I recieved an error message saying "Product could not be installed. Check your internet connection." My internet connection was actually working fine. I would like to try and download again, but that would mean paying again, and I don't want to do that if I don't know for sure if it's going to work.

Check that your computer is compatible with Mountain Lion.
To check the model number hold down the option/alt key, go to the Apple menu and select System Information.
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) model number 3,1 or higher
    Your Mac needs:
OS X v10.6.8 or OS X Lion already installed
2 GB or more of memory (More is better)
8 GB or more of available space

  • Mountain lion download doesn't resume from where it left after an error occur

I'm trying to download mountain lion but the download doesn't resume from where it stopped when I encounter a drop in my Internet connection/get disconnected. Also I face that after this sequence of events: Internet error occur > surprisingly download resume from where it left > pause the download > resume the download after a few hours. My questions are: how can I solve this issue ? Does the downloaded file/app get corrupted when the download encounters an error which is actually making it restart the whole download? It's really frustrating, I've been downloading for the last couple of days and the downloads restarts even after downloading over one gigabyte. P.s: my Mac meets with the hardware and software requirements for downloading mountain lion.

  • Mountain Lion - mail will not allow me to add to iphoto

I downloaded Mountain lion and I saw that there was an iphoto library problem, but all my photos are there.  However, when people are sending me photos, I can no longer use the "add to iphoto", it will allow me to drag photo into iphoto.

That is right - it is a bug - report to Apple and work around until an upgrade resolves it

  • OSX Mountain Lion "Messages" will not let me sign in...

I cannot for the life of me get messages to work on the new OSX mountain lion.  I keep getting this alert when trying to sign in:
"COULD NOT SIGN INTO iMESSAGE. The server encountered an error processing registration.  Please try again later."
Any ideas?  I have restarted both my macbook and macpro, reset my apple ID password... no love.

I have spent over 40 hour walking through this issue with Apple senior tier engineering support with Apple for Mountain Lion and Developer support, plus the Apple store genius bar and their high level connection, Getting no where trying to resolve same issue it seems.  The only thing I can get to work is AIM to video chat or share screens.  Messages accounts have added 5 other account .mac accounts and I can not sign into any of them or remove any of them either.  Over time I have had a .mac address that was made into a mobile me address that was then converted into a .mac email again and became a cloud account. And I have a developer account that has a separate name that works with iTunes connect.  When I try to manage accounts to change the password of one it corrupts the the password of the other. When I try the change emails of one it says it is in use by the other.
There are 2 accounts for the iTunes and App Store.
Messages is choking on my 2 accounts and there is a definite unresolved problem with the cloud in regard to them it seems.
