Mountain Lion mirroring - screen resolution problems

I've just upgraded to Mountain Lion and am no longer able to set the screen resolutions on the iMac monitor and my Sony LCD 46" to mirror properly. Previously it worked very well by selecting the highest resolution for both the iMac and the TV - but now selecting those resolution settings no longer mirror properly. I've also tried other resolution combinations with limited success. When the iMac looks good - the mirrored TV monitor does not or vice versa.
Any suggestions or directions/instructions would be appreciated.

You should have checked it before upgrading to Mountain Lion. Apple says that AirPlay Mirroring requires some hardware video encoding capabilities of 2nd and 3rd generation Intel Core processor, making all the 2010 and early Macs unsupported, but we don't know why AirParrot can stream on all the computers

Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
First, empty the Trash.

EHP1 Upgarde Monitor screen resolution problem in a support message

Hi Experts,
We have recently upgraded our Solution manager to EHP1, iam facing a screen resolution problem with 15 inch monitors.
Our key users have 15 inch monitors to their system and when they try to reply a support message under transaction data-> Overview tab -> reply it is showing only one line for them , due to which they are unable to enter the complete data in it.
How ever We have found that this does not occur with 17 inc monitors as the required screen resoution 1280* 1024 is possible due to bigger size of the monitor.
can any one suggest how to make the overview tab visible completely with small resolution monitors.

Default size will play good role in terms of resolution. in one system in table control you can see 10rows, but in others system it will show 20 records. it depends on resolution. but when you set the default size then it will take same (default screen size) in all the systems when you run BDC.

U can only run the session with the option Dynpro Standard Size setted.
In this way the system should be use the same resolution for every situation.

Yes, you can use ctu_params.
This is for Default screen size for CALL TRANSACTION. It signifies the screen size will be constant irrespective of the screen resolution(which can vary for different user). The importance of this lies in programs(module pool) that contain table controls. With default screen size we can control the no of rows in the table control which otherwise may vary depending on the screen resolution.
DEFSIZE is the Selection as to whether the screens of the called transaction are displayed in the standard screen size. Values "X" (standard size), " " (current size).

Message says "screen resolution problem" and says to set higher than 1020 x 600. My screen resolution is set higher. Why am I getting this message all the time I use firefox?

when I go on to Firefox I keep getting the message that there is a screen resolution problem and it says I should set it higher a than 1020 X 600. But my screen resolution is set higher. It is set at 1360 x 768. Why am I getting this message continuously?

I've had the problem too... for at least a month or more. It would happen when logging into yahoo mail. But it happens only with firefox... not explorer. I contacted yahoo and he had me first disable add ons... no change... and since it didn't happen with explorer, they said to contact firefox. So I followed the advice of cor-el's post (on this page) and made the text on my page smaller... It did fix the issue.... but, I liked the size of the text the way I had it. So, how do I get it back to that size, and not have that annoying message any longer? thanks!!

Mountain Lion mirroring feature.

When Apple Maps was proven to be faulty and Tim Cook apologizes to the users and added to be better as users will provide FEEDBACK. Do you think Apple reads these feedbacks? There are thousand users asking from Apple about Mountain Lion mirroring features not available for mid 2010 iMac. Until now Apple is quite about it. Apple does not need your feedback, it needs your money.

Although i have tried airaParrot, nothing beats the functionalities that come with mirroring and airplaying through an apple based software like the one made available through the ipod touch and ipad. I hope apple develops an app for 2010 macbook pro users.

Mountain Lion Dual screen window Full screen problem?

I could not upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion on my iMac because dual screen operation was broken when a window on one screen was set to full screen. Has this been fixed in Mountain Lion?

i Use an iMac with 2 dual screens and the problem you are describing is fixed in the final build release of ML.
i have not seen the breaking of activity when switching too full screen on even all 3 monitors. so looking good in the multiscreen support.

Apple tv and Mountain Lion Mirror problems

Hi so I upgraded to Mountain Lion the day it came out on my macbook pro and so far im really happy with it. But I am all of the sudden having problems mirroring it on my apple tv. I worked fine up until about a week ago and now it doesnt seem to want to work. When I click on the mirror icon nothing happens, I just turns blue around it for about 15 secs and then nothing. I have tried everything and im lost. HELP!

Do a reset of apple tv and try again,in case it still is having issue check if you have latest updates on Apple tv as well as for mountain lion.

Since upgrading to mountain lion from snow leopard, problems!!

I have just purchased Mountain Lion as an upgrade to snow leopard on my mac. Since updating, my screen keeps freezing when it has not been used for a while, where as before I just had to jiggle the mouse and it would wake up. Now I have to turn off the computer at the mains and switch back on again. Since mountain lion I also am having problems with flash player as it is telling me I need to upgrade - have done this several times and still no luck! Any ideas?

Most NAS developers are slow on updating their software. Before doing an OS X update check with your NAS manufacturer to see if they support the version of OS X you are considering. I would recommend contacting iOmega.

10.8.2 Mountain Lion Update Causes Major Problems

I'm running an early 2009 iMac and I made the jump to Mountain Lion about a month ago. Initial upate ran OK, I had some problems but overall it ran pretty decently. I held off on updating to 10.8.2 because I wanted to see if it caused any issues, but decided to go ahead about a week and a half ago. Since then, my computer has had daily problems. To name a few, my computer completely crashes when going into sleep mode and will not return, the sound frequently disappears and goes unrecognized. iTunes has been an utter disaster - I have an iPod classic, which as soon as I plug in causes iTunes to crash. I've had similar issues with my iPhone 4. Airplay drops regularly when I never had that issue prior. Homesharing in particular causes iTunes to crash, which was working infrequently as of just yesterday.
I've had quite a few issues, which over the past few weeks has rendered my iPod classic and old iPhone completely useless as I cannot sync them to put music on them (I restored iPod to see if that would fix it, but it didn't. So now I have an empty iPod that won't sync). And the workaround of using homeshare was viable as an alternative, but now does not work at all. Connecting to my Apple TV takes 5-10 times longer than it previously did, and the connection occasionally drops. I used all these features with a regularity which makes this extremely frustrating.
Not sure if Apple plans to fix this with iTunes 11 update, but I'm hoping something will come about soon. I called support to inquire about downgrading back to Snow Leopard, but the guy on the phone convinced me to reinstall the OS, which I did. It has not solved any of my issues (although I was finally able to update my iPhone 4 to the latest firmware, it will still not sync or do Homeshare). Any ideas how I could solve these problems? These all started happening the day I updated to 10.8.2 and, as I said, I hadn't experienced anything like them previously.

So this is where I'm at now - last night, immediately after finishing a movie that was on my WD hard drive, which holds all of my media, music, movies - I restarted my computer and then it would not read the drive. It said it was unreadable.
I brought the Mac and the drive into an apple store today - they said basically it was my hard drive causing the issues. I used my iPod classic as my media back up as the 160 gb could hold all my stuff. Well, as I mentioned previously, that can't sync and I restored it, with no success. So in essence I lost my media drive and the back up. Tough to swallow, I'm angry, I think it's still mountain lion causing the drive to fail.
So I resolved to go home and restore my computer to one of my time machine back ups and do a Snow Leopard reinstall. Well, the moment I returned from the apple store, the time machine drive is now listed as unreadable. I called support, spent hours with them - I now have two drives which fried within 10 hours of each other in the same error. The senior support manager agreed it sounds like mountain lion is indeed corrupting my drives somehow. My iMac currently won't start into the recovery disk. So I went out spent $200 to get a new hard drive, which I am now backing up my data onto with a new Time machine.
In the last week, I've lost my iPod classic, iPhone 4, two external hard drives and now possibly even the Mac itself. I'm going to install snow leopard and see if it alleviates any of my issues, or hopefully can read my drives. I truly believe Mountain Lion is the problem.

3000/N100 Mouse/Screen Resolution Problems with Windows 7

This is my first post and I appreciate your service. My problem is that after I upgraded from Vista to Windows 7, I find that my touchpad mouse will freeze up & the screen resolution will changes occasionally when I boot up my computer. When this happens, I have to restart my computer and hope that the mouse works and screen resolution is correct. If it does work, it will continue to work until I turn off or restart the computer, then I cross my fingers again. All my drivers are updated. If the touchpad mouse is frozen, I can get my usb mouse to work, but I don't want to have to do that. Has anyone else had this problem, or can anyone offer suggestions?
I never had this problem until I upgraded to Windows 7.

It is the FULL version, NOT an upgrade.
If you used Upgrade, that may be a clue?

Screen resolution problem after i-tunes installed on XP pro

Just purchased 5th Generation 60Gb for my daughters 16th Birthday which starts in about 14 minutes! Loaded the software on her XPpro service pack 2 laptop. When itunes executed the screen resolution drops to 8 bit! It can be changed in control panel and all works fine. but each time re boot itunes and the problem returns!
Loaded on my desktop and everything fine also. tried the ms config stuff as per site and immediate problem when ms software disabled. Would seem to be a software conflict and compatability problem. The laptop is a fujitsu which is 2 years old. the older version of i-tunes which she downloaded about a year ago worked ok. Sadly we uninstalled it before installing the new version from the disc. Tried update from the site but it indicates the DC version is the latest.
Interesting to read some of the problems that flks have had with the ipods. This one seems OK but does have a 'do not disconnect logo which hangs up and doesn't go away. However, if I do disconnect the computer 'burps' at me then all is well and forgotten!
Oh yes. how do you delete unwanted songs once uploaded? Is there a simple 'delete' button?
Any thoughts anyone as I've now spent all evening on it and it's her birthday in the morning (8th June)
