Mountain Lion not downloading in App Store.

Hi guys,
I've read countless threads and tried everything but I still can't seem to download Mountain Lion from the App Store!
It's currently in my purchases, but pressing the download button does nothing whatsoever. When I click download from the actual Mountain Lion page, I get a small icon in my dock which either says 'waiting..' or 'downloading..'
When it says downloading, nothing seems to happen.. and in my purchases page there is no progress bar. In fact, in my purchases it still has the download button despire having a progress bar below the dock icon.
I've tried connecting via ethernet to download it. I've checked my Mac specs and they're all ok. I've tried restarting everything and cancelling the download.
Can anyone advise me?

I have been using Mt. Lion for quite some time. Whenever I go to purchases at the Appstore, Mt. Lion show "download", not installed. All my other apps show "installed', or "update"-if needed.
Do I dwnload this again, or ignore it? I don't want to do anything that may mess up my computers and OS.

I have recently downloaded the OS upgrade to Mountain Lion from the Mac App Store for £13.99, and it is't downloading. Since purchasing I have received the bill from Apple outlining I have purchased the item. But nothing has happened as yet. I have looked under purchases in the Mac App Store and it just shows the progression bar...

I have restarted my IMac many times and still nothing!!!
What can I do?? I have the icon for Mountain Lion in the dock but the only options available I can see are... Pause, or Cancel Download.
Please help!!!

It looks stuck, and at this point, you probably ought to cancel the download and start it over again. (No worries about paying again... once you buy something in the App Store, you own it for as long as it stays in the store and can re-download it all you like.)
Also, before you consider installing the upgrade, note that there are some things you should do:
1) Check all your software for compatibility with the new system.
2) Repair the hard drive with Disk Utility.
3) Make a full backup of your whole system using Time Machine.
4) Ideally, make a second full backup of your whole system using something else, like Carbon Copy Cloner. (I consider two backups to be the minimum.)
5) Wait until you have time to deal with any possible problems that crop up.
6) Install the upgrade.
Some people recommend erasing your hard drive and installing the new system "cleanly." That certainly helps ensure that you don't have any problems with the new system, but is often unnecessary. I prefer to save clean installs for when they are actually necessary, but that is only an opinion. You can certainly choose to do a clean install if you prefer.

Mountain Lion OS from the App Store

I purchased mountain lion os from the app store for my laptop but also want to upgrade my imac from lion to mountain lion. When I went to the mountain lion app to purchase it again for my desktop it did not give me the option to buy only to download. I thought we would have to purchases two copies of the OS for each device, is that incorrect?

The Terms of Use for Mac App Store software is that you may install it on as many Macs as you own or have in your control. That includes OS X.

I purchased Mountain Lion online from the App store but it won't download

I purchased Mountain Lion from the App Store, and after 2 days it still hasn't downloaded. The download appears to have frozen.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
First of all, restart your Mac and resume the download. To resume the download, open App Store > Purchases, and press the Resume button next to OS X Mountain Lion.
If it doesn't work, open Finder, go to Applications folder and delete the OS X Mountain Lion installer. Then, open App Store > Purchases, and download Mountain Lion again

Mountain Lion will not download from app store

I have a new macbook pro running Lion, and I tried to download Mountain Lion from the app store yesterday. it downloaded partly and but then the download seemed to stop. So I disinstalled the partially downloaded software and tried again. But when I try, the icon says "waiting" and the actual download never begins. I've tried several times with the same result. I just downloaded Mountain Lion yesterday from the App Store and it won't install. I stopped it when it wouldn't do anything all day and now how do i restart the installation process?

Uaually when you purchase something from the app store and it has downloaded, you see an install button. I found nothing of that nature. I have a late model 2009 mac mini with plenty of memory and plenty of disk space. What am I missing?

Can you check in your Applications Folder to see if the installer is still there. You are confused on some things, because the installer should be giving you a DOWNLOAD text on the purchases page, not install.

Unable to download Mountain Lion after purchase in App store.

After purchasing Mountain Lion in App store, I have been unable to successfully download a copy.
It was not interrupted, it just stops.
Every attempt (including the first) fails at 142 MB, with the meaningless "unable to download" error. In the console log I find this:
7/31/13 2:32:56.894 PM storeagent: ISStoreURLOperation: Expected bytes (4437341116) did not match actual (142374555)! Setting error. (See 9215068)
indicating the error. The file was expected to be 4.4 GB (yes), but does not match actual 142 MB...?
I have found references to this error, but no real fix. I have tried every "fix" suggested; Safe boot, guest user login, deleting temp files, hidden files, app store files, debug mode in app store, repairing permissions, changing ethernet ports, changing DNS (loved that one), and others.
I finally erased the hard drive with zeroes, re-installed 10.7, software updated to 10.7.5 and immediately attempted download - it still fails.
I also have no virus software or little snitch, or anything else that would prevent downloads. I have been able to download free and purchased software from the app store (xcode, pages, ibooks author) - that are more than 142MB.
So this is not an ISP, modem, or some other thing preventing me from downloading using the app store. It is a problem *only* with downloading Mountain Lion.
This seems like an Apple problem. Anybody have a real fix?

Are you quite sure? Check your model identifier. If you have the first model released, then it cannot run anything past Lion. Be sure you meet ALL the requirements.
Upgrading to Mavericks
You can upgrade to Mavericks from Lion or directly from Snow Leopard. Mavericks can be downloaded from the Mac App Store for FREE.

To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8 or Lion installed. Download Mavericks from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. Mavericks is free. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.

Can't download Mountain Lion OS X from App Store Canada

Wanting to upgrade from my stale Snow Leopard OS X 10.6.8, I purchased Mountain Lion online and received the email redeption code redeemed the purchase in Mac App Store - and nothing happened. No download, no resume download option, NOTHING.
What is wrong? What should I do? I need to get rid of Snow Leopard and upgrade to get the best out of my Mac, but this is getting so frustrating! First, I couldn't upgrade to Mavericks OS X, so I followed community advice and purchased Mountain Lion OS X so that the upgrade would be more efficient (aka possible)...
Please help!

I'm in the process of doing the same thing. You apparently have to purchase it via Apple.com, not the App Store. But be warned, it will take many days for them to send you the download link and password. It's been over 5 business days for me so far and I've escalated as I have to get this stuff ASAP for a particular software package I'm required to use for a project. Waiting a week is killing me.
Idiotic process they have for old version of OS X. Mavericks is available in the App Store, why not older OSX versions?

I am running Mountain Lion Server, and the App Store indicates an upgrade to Server.App version 2.2.5. When I try to upgrade it will not install. Is that because OSX8 is no longer supported; and if so, is there an alternate source for this upgrade if

Probably a long shot, but try resetting the App Store and Clearing Cookies.

Downloading Mountain Lion from The Mac App Store.

I'm currently downloading Mountain Lion for my Imac from the Mac App Store. If I put my computer to sleep, the download stops, can I put my Desktop to sleep or will the download still stop?

I want to upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion. Seems the app store only allows the new Maverick to be downloaded. Is there is a link to still install Mountain Lion?

Call 800 MY APPLE and get sales support. They can work it out. It is still possible to purchase Mountain Lion, they send you various emails and links to do so. It costs $19.95.
In my case, I had purchased it for another computer, I was told if I go to purchases at the App Store, there it is, and I can download it to the one that needs it. It's that simple.
