Mountain Lion OS X Trackpad issues

UPDATE ISSUE RESOLVED:
I found there were extra settings. Apparently when installing mountain lion my three finger gestures were changed to four finger gestures.
I have downloaded and installed Mountain Lion today and have come across a very annoying issue.
My three finger swipes to move between full screen programs no longer works.
I have found several other users with this issue but their issue seems to have been resolved by disabling the two new gestures in "Trackpad" or disabling the "Screensaver". Neither of these temporary resoultions to the issue have fixed it for me.
And yes I restarted my mac after disabling the
Tap to click
Three finger drag
Magic Trackpad gestures and disabled screensaver.
I know that this is an issue for several users and Apple should mend this problem at some point, but are there any other temporary measures I can perform to get back the three finger swipe between programs as i use it all the time. (at the moment im using CMD + Tab to get between programs)
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I installed Mountain Lion Os x into my computer, and it was said that the program would be under my Macintosh HD, however I am still unable to find where the program is. Has this happened to anybody else? I just wanted to know where the program will be.
Mt Lion IS the Operating System. It Is the system you are booting into. It is Not an App.
If you are talking about the Mt Lion installer that got downloaded from the internet then as mende1 pointed out it get Deleted after the install completes.
Stupid, YES but then we are dealing with Apple here.

  • I have iMac 27.  After Mountain Lion install, my trackpad freezes partially after deep sleep and need to restart to get it working again.  anyone with same issue?

I have an iMac 27 and installed Mountain Lion last week.  Since then, after a deep overnight sleep, certain of my trackpad functions are frozen after i wake the Mac.  i need to restart the computer in order to get the trackpad fully functional.  Anyone with same issue or ideas?

I'm having the exact same issue with Mountain Lion on my 2008 17" MacBook Pro. I've just tried the SMC reset, so we'll see how that does. The problem was intermittent, occuring not after every wake--from-sleep, but every few.
Interestingly, my 2007 17" MacBook Pro is also running Mountain Lion (the oldest MacBook Pro than can!), and hasn't had this problem at all.

  • Mountain Lion Server PHP Upgrade issue

I need to upgrade my Server PHP, since my web site needs PHP 5.4 or above to work.
I have followed the steps from previous discussion
Updated PHP to 5.4 following steps from here
    Updated bash_profile, httpd.conf, and updated $PATH variables.
In terminal php version and php path points to correct version /usr/local/php5/
But phpinfo still points to php 5.3.
I was able make the update on my local machine running Mountain Lion. The issue occurs only on the Mountain Lion Server.
It there any other settings that needs to be done to udpate PHP path?

Thanks for the input. Did you have any issues with running MAMP on server? I was under the impression Server tools, (web, ftp, opendirectory, etc..) are tightly integrated to one another.
Installing MAMP on a server might be the next option. Did you remove Lion server completely or just the web server part?
I did test out MAMP on server. It seem to have some database issues and give a blank page when it has to connect with Database. Probably have to work on the db issues, if PHP update is impossible.

  • OSX Mountain Lion post-upgrade Video issues.

I purchased this MBPRO 13 on Saturday. Upgraded to Mountain Lion this afternoon ... now weirdness has taken over.
Has anyone see this happen post-upgrade? This happens approx. every 20-30 minutes after starting up. Sure would love to know what this is and a resolution :-/
I also have a video of the issue here ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YDxEYIdlGGU&feature=g-upl

You have 14 days from receipt to return it for a refund.
That looks like a Hardware problem to me, unless you have installed a lot of goofy aftermarket stuff.

  • Osx 10.8 mountain lion compatibility and crashing issues

I upgraded my old mac laptop a special edition 1278 that is aluminum unibody, yes they do exist. It has 2Ghz intel core2duo 8gb ram a 7200rpm hyrid 500gb hard drive on a 13" frame with the now standard one big button touchpad.  I had gone from snow to lion to now mountain lion.
Well, FIRST WARNING, I ASSUMED Adobe Creative Cloud should work with mountain lion since it was working with lion, WRONG!
upon upgrading completeing, and trying to launch Adobe Creative Cloud CS6 Dreamweaver,I was informed by Adobe application control that "your computer is not authorized to use adobe creative cloud....can not activate software....you have already reached the maximum activations of two".
Well one of the activations was this laptop running lion and now since I didn't know to deactivate the software before upgrading I can't deactivate it and then reactivate it under mountain lion.
The ONLY adobe solution?....get ready for this....Deactivate my subscription killing all computers ability to use the adobe software, ALL PRODUCTS for....get ready for this....24 hours. Then I can reactivate the two computers i want to use the software on.
Unacceptable solution. especially since further checking on many sites DO NOT LIST CS6 Products to be compatible with mountain lion.
Secondly, since upgrading to mountain lion and it upgrading xcode and xcode related files....it crashes when trying to run programs/apps during development.
It doesn't matter how complex or simple they are...they can be lank apple supplied templates. If i click Products->Run a few seconds later xcode crash!
If you have a fix for either of these issues please drop me a line with useful suggestions I appreciate it.
and no. let's be clear on this-although it feels this way, my head is not up my....thank you for that comment or suggestion up front
I am looking for a serious solution.

i'm running os x 10.7.4 and have been unable to get the cisco usb printer software installed on my powerbook. did you have any issues with that or can you direct me to the software you installed on yours?
I'm on a 2008 Macbook Pro. The initial installation went smoothly for me. I'm not sure where to download the VUSB software online, I believe it downloaded the file when I was using the Connect Cloud setup interface. I clicked on devices, then add device, then usb printer. It should walk you through the steps and download VUSB during that process.

  • Mountain Lion (Mail 6.0) Issue

I just purchased and installed Mountain Lion.  If I go into Mail after quitting and re-opening it, I sometimes get this tiny screen glitch over the message (mostly when there is a link).  So I'm just assuming it's from Mountain Lion being buggy since I never had a problem with Lion.  I have a MBP 2011.  What do you think?

For me the problem is reproducible only when the MBP is using the Integrated Graphics 'Intel HD Graphics 3000'. Once I switch to the other graphics controller it goes away.
I can also more easily reproduce the issue, when a email has a black background.
I am trying to understand if this is a hardware or a software problem, since Apple Support doesn't know what it is. While I tend to think it is software related, I don't know when it will be solved.

  • Mountain Lion kills bluetooth, trackpad gestures

I have latest gen iMac.   After Mountain Lion upgrade.   No bluetooth is available though my keyboard and trackpad connect.   Keyboard acts generics with no top row keys working and trackpad has lost gestures.  Machine does see a trackpad in system prefs.
    Is this release garbage???

Okay, I just found another thread that solved it for me.
Go to this thread and on the second page near the bottom you'll find a thread by joe81tx. Even though my "Disable automatic login" box was already unchecked and I couldn't find anything about name and password, and I figured that it wasn't going to work ... it did.
I hope it works for you.

  • After upgrading to Mountain Lion my Magic Trackpad won't connect.

To be more accurate it my trackpad connects briefly (though it never actually registers any touches) then immediately disconnects and happens repeatedly. I'm using a 6 month old 11" MacBook Air.

After updating my iMac to Mountain Lion, the Trackpad wouldn't connect. Tried everything to no avail until I noticed it was connecting to the MacBook Pro across the room (which it had never done before!). The MacBook Pro was asleep, too! Disabled Bluetooth on the MacBook Pro; paired the Trackpad to the iMac again, and all's well. See if your trackpad is not trying to connect to another bluetooth computer somewhere in the vicinity.

  • Mac OS X Mountain Lion and Numbers color issue

I updated to Mac OS X Mountain Lion and now my Numbers file has a pink background color instead of white with black text. How do I fix it?

  • Help, Cant install Mountain lion. Hardrive format issues

I'm on a late 2009 macbook pro laptop and i decided to upgrade to the new mountain lion update. I've paid and downloaded the files, but upon install i get this
what do i need to do?, I dont have an hardrive to back up and i don't wanto loose the files on my laptop.

This error isn't making a lot of sense to begin with. You hard drive HAS to be in the Mac OS Extended Journaled format for an OS to be installed so if it wasn't then you shouldn't be able to boot it up right now.
You don't say what OS you currently have on the MBP but you need to go to Disk Utility and see what format the HD and its volumes are in.
You can access it in 3 ways - open the Finder and go to Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility,
                                              -  insert the disk that came with your Mac, reboot holding the C key, choose English as the language and then open Disk Utility from the Utilities menu along the top of the screen,
                                              - If you have Lion installed boot the Mac holding Command and R, choose English if prompted and then open Disk Utility.
You need to make sure the HD itself has the right Partition Map Scheme - GUID Partition Table. You also need to make sure that Macintosh HD is in the format listed in your screen shot.

  • Mountain Lion Airplay Mirroring Sound Issue

I'm having an issue with airplaying online videos. Everything works fine at first, but then the sound will start to get really choppy to the point where I can't hear it anymore. This is with running the sound through the tv. When I pause the video and then press play again it starts to work fine, then after 2-3 min it will start getting choppy again. Same sort of thing happens when listening to sites like pandora etc.
Once the sound starts to get choppy it seems like adjusting the volume exacerbates the issue.
Was super stoked about airplay feature, but this is really annoying. Any suggestions on fixes?

Having the same issue here. Airport Extreme, current gen AppleTV, 2.3Ghz i7 Macbook Pro.

  • Trackpad issues after mountain lion install

Since my Mountain Lion install, the trackpad on my 15" MBP will track, but won't select anything.  Hot corners aren't working, the dock won't appear, etc.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Got similar issues, no notifications and no switching between full screen apps (4fingerswipe). Some swipe features work, no secondary click in bottsom corners...Trackpad operational under Mountain Lion a total nuisance compared to Snow Leopard...PLease Apple, show some respect again to your faithfull customers and show some response!

  • "Mouse Over" issues in Logic Pro - Mountain Lion

    Hi,
Since I upgraded to Mountain Lion, I spotted an issue with Logic Pro (Logic 9).
In the Arrange window, when pointing the mouse at the end of a region, the pointer icon doesn't change to the looping (upper right corner of the region) or resize (lower right corner) icon.
As a result, those functionalities (looping and resizing regions) are gone.
    Anyone having the same issue?
Is there a way to solve this or do we need to wait for a Logic Pro update to get these back?
    Thanks in advance,
    A nice day everyone,
    Vince

As it's the only problem I have noticed since the upgrade, and as I mentioned in my last post, looking like a minor problem to me, I will keep Mountain Lion.
But anyway, thanks for the advice, Ivan.

No problem, as a professional musician using Logic I learned that lesson the hard way first time around. Hard as it was to not have the toys I soon learned that stability ruled the day....

  • Mountain Lion wifi WEP security connection issues

After installing Mountain Lion I experienced connection issues with my linksys router when waking from sleep. After trying numerous recommended fixes that would only work for a short period of time I have come across a fix that resolved all issues.
    1. Login to your router and changed from WEP to WAP security settings.
    2. In network preferences>advanced; delete the previous WEP network from your preferred networks.
    3. Open Keychain Access (spotlight search) and delete the Airport network password from both login and system.
    4. Search for new wifi networks and select the new WAP connection to your router.
This has completely resolved my issue and forced my lazy self to upgrade from the outdated WEP secutiry protocol to WAP.
Hope this helps anybody experiencing this issue.

I think you mean WPA, i.e. WPA2 (personal) for best security, compatibility and performance (or is Linksys different?)
