Mountain Lion desktop wallpaper won't change!
Hi guys,
Hope somone can help with this, it's been bugging me ever since I upgraded to Mountain Lion!
Whenever I change the desktop wallpaper with any of the ones provided on my Mac and reboot my laptop it reverts back to the original wallpaper that was set back during Lion (OS X 10.7) before the upgrade. I'm currently running the latest update (10.8.1) on my MacBook Pro Retina and still having the same problem!

How do I make Wallpaper Wizard work on Mountain Lion?
Hi,
On the Lion OS, selecting a new wallpaper on Wallpaper Wizard was easy. It remained until it was changed.
Now on Mountain Lion, the selected Wallpaper Wizard wallpaper remains only until the next re-boot. The wallpaper reverts to Galaxy.
Are there any settings I can make in Mountain Lion such that the wallpaper will remain until I change it?
I am not sure, but I think that you can move a Wallpaper Wizard image into the folder from which wallpapers are selected. But I do not want to load my SSD with such unimportant material.
Thank you for your replies
RoystonfromBrighton.Hi RoystonfromBrighton,
This issue about the "change wallpaper" has been fixed in Mountain Lion and the new Wallpaper Wizard update has been sent to MacAppAtore.
As soon as it's checked - the update will be available for downloading.
Also you can download the update version from site - http://wallwiz.com/download/
Extremely sorry for the inconvenience.

MacOS X Mountain Lion keeps forgetting wallpaper
Hi,
on my iMac (Model 2012) Mountain Lion keeps forgetting my wallpaper setting. I set it to show a random image from the default background desktop images coming with Mac OSX.
After a restart but also randomly when waking the iMac up, the desktop background is blue again. If I then check the wallpaper setting, I can see that "Random order" is still ticked. But the checkmark at "Change image daily" is gone.
Does anybody know this problem and has an idea for a fix?
Best,
RenéI suspect that there's a problem with the Desktop settings file, so you must delete it. First, open Finder, select Go menu (on the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type ~/Library/Preferences.
Then, delete "com.apple.desktop.plist" and "com.apple.systempreferences.plist", and restart. Finally, that problem shouldn't appear anymore -
I upgraded to mountain lion and now my screensaver doesn't work right
I am having problems with my screensaver since I upgraded to mountain lion. It only stays on the screen for a few mintues and then the screen goes black.
When I try a click my mouse and try to coneect to the internet my entire screen goes white. How can I fix this?redskins4me wrote:
I have never had a screen saver that was a moving object. They have always been a still photo. My desktop is set to the picture I want and yes it is still. I do not like moving object as a screensaver and I have never had one that has been a video type
Yes you have! All of Apple's pre-installed screensavers are "movers." Check for yourself.
The screensaver that is showing is a custom aquarium.

Now that we know you actually mean desktop pictures (wallpaper), troubleshooting suggestions will be a tad different.
Option key>Finder>Go>Library>Preferences - trash the com.apple.desktop.plist file, repair permissions, restart your comp & empty the trash when you reach the desktop. -
My account data has been removed since installing Mountain Lion
After I installed Mountain Lion, I noticed that my wallpaper had changed. Then I noticed that my dock had changed. Then I found out that all the data I had on my account before I installed Mountain Lion had been locked away under a folder called "Users 1". My question is: How do I retrieve this data, and use that data on my account as I did before?
Thank you!
Jacob BrandtOk I finally find how to resolve it.
1/ enable "root" account
2/ log in as "root" and great a new admin count. Whatever about the name.
3/ disable all the other count as admin. and delete it. Of course in the folder "users 1" every thing was untouch.
4/ normally at this point in users folder there is only the "shared" account and the new admin.
Then, in finder, simply put your originals count folders (from "users 1") to the normal "users" folder.
5/ create new user account with same name and password. And normally you obtain at the end the wonder message (who repairs the permissions users) "there is a folder with this account information..." clic yes. And it's done.
As the original.
6/ disable "root" user.
I suggest after this little journey to re-install ML from a original and un-corrupted copy, with only one admin user (all other account must be "standard" account.

System Lagging after Mountain Lion update??
Hello!
Since I updated my OS X Lion to OS X Mountain Lion, my mac seems to lag almost everytime for so little things. Like if I wanna change my wallpaper and right-click on my desktop to "change background..", it takes like almost 10 second to open the control panel. If I open safari, i take like 5-10 second to open the browser. If I click "yes" to confirm the empty trash, it takes again like 5 second to do it... All those things were instatly before updating to mountain lion and now its laggy..
Anyone have an idea whats happening?? I have an iMac mid 2010 model...
Thanks in advance!!Well, I did it what you said and for now the lag for opening safari seems to be done but its still there to open/pop-up windows like the control pannel or to open itunes..

What happened to my Lion Wallpaper?
I have Lion 10.7 and was using the new wallpapers. Now, my desktop wallpaper has reverted back to the Snow Leopard wallpapers I was using before installing Lion. When I go to the System Preferences to change the wallpaper back, I'm only presented the SL wallpapers. No Lion wallpapers exist anymore. What happened to these and how do I get them back???
You need to upgrade and buy Mountain Lion Server from the app store for $20.

Why is Mountain Lion not asking me to login after installation?
I had Lion and I upgraded to Mountain Lion just a few minutes ago.
I noticed it didn't ask me to login like it shows on Apple's site like a login to iCloud or something? Anyone else seen this?
I even have the same wallpaper (personal photo) as my wallpaper stillSince you installed it over Lion, all of your previous data and preferences have carried over. This includes your previous registration, which means you won't be prompted to set up the computer again.

Time Machine after upgrade to Mountain Lion from Snow Leopard
Hi,
I upgraded my Macbook pro to Mountain Lion yesterday from Snow Leopard. I just did the upgrade over the top of snow leopard so all of my apps and documents are exactly as they were (right down to the wallpaper)
However, there is a problem with time machine.
Time Machine no longer automatically backups to the drive I had been using for my snow leopard backups (I assume this is because I have changed operating systems).
How can i continue to use this drive for time machine?
Can I just select it again and will it retain my existing snow leopard backups?
Or do I need to format it?
Cheers guys.Thank you, so that will retain my existing snow leopard backups and just start making new mountain lion backups? (There is more than 1TB of available space on the drive still)

Overlapping wallpapers on external monitor w/mountain lion
When I close the lid on my early 2011 Macbook Pro with my external monitor pugged in via a thunderbolt to displayport adaptor, the wallpaper from the macbook overlaps the different wallpaper on my external monitor. This has only started to happen after upgrading to Mountain Lion. Any ideas on how to fix this?
I have been experiencing this, but with Lion, not Mountain Lion. It is driving me nuts!
I am using LG L246WP monitor via HDMI to DVI on MacPro1,1. I have tried changing cables, even tried VGA to DVI (no blackouts with VGA, but not sure I can trust that, because there is no set pattern of when it will blackout!).
I did try another monitor for most of a day - no blackouts/flickers, and as soon as I hooked up my original monitor, I got blackouts, which led me to believe it is the monitor.
I have searched and read several forums on blackouts, each with different configurations, so at this point I am not sure what it is. I even replaced my Graphics/Video card, because someone on Apple forum said most likely that was the culprit, but still having same problem (even as I type this!).
It is like something is intermittently interfering with signal??? -
I have an Early 2011" macbook pro 13 inch (core i5 2.3ghz 4gb ram 320hdd) with Mountain Lion 10.8.2, and I want to connect it via Mini DP to HDMI connector, and a HDMI cable to a LCD TV LG 32LD340. When I had Lion OS, I had no problems at all.
If you have an external drive equal to or larger than your internal HD, clone your internal to it with either Carbon Copy Cloner or Super Duper. Test the clone to make sure it's bootable. Then upgrade either one. Try it out first.
