Mouse behaving uncontrollable in Photoshop

I had a weird problem pop up suddenly in Photoshop only.
When I try to use a tool such as clone or brush- the curser jumps around uncontrollably?
Earlier, I changed the aspect ratio of a file to square, and I also cannot seem to reset it.
Are these things related?
Is there a setting I accidently checked off that is causing this?
I have Photoshop CS2.

In case you work in CS4 (which you omit to mention):
Paint brush, Pen Tool & Eraser don't show up where I click?

  • Mouse not working in Photoshop cs6 on OS Mavericks

I am using Photoshop CS6 on OS Mavericks.
Now I can't use my mouse anymore in Photoshop. The mouse doesn't change with respect to the tool I selected, when I go over the image. So i can't use the mouse for nothing in Photoshop.
Its my first time I use PS under OS X, before I always worked on a Windows system. So propably I am missing a simple step or a setting?
    Thank you for your help.

I just found the solution, so simple: My bluetooth connection was on, so my Macbook connected to my external keyboard, which caused the problem.
    Hope it helps someone else.

I just figured out the print quality issue for my wife with her new iMac and new printer.
She replaced both at once and she couldn't understand why her Artisan 730 was lower quality then her Epson R280 when they had the same specs.
Turns out the newer printer had the option to connect via wifi which we used during setup.
The driver options are completely different depending on how you connect.
Once I connected via USB the correct options were available and the print quality was better.
Looking at the R2400 it dies not have wifi, but while researching the problem for my wife someone esle was having an issue updating to the latest printer driver.
If you go into the print utility from the Printer and Scanner system preference and under the general tab you should have driver 5.5.
One user had to delete the old printer driver before Software Update loaded the newer printer driver.

On my MacBook Pro (w Snow Leopard) I always had to reconnect my wifi at home when it woke up. I upgraded my router from an old Netgear to a newer N D-Link and stopped having to do that.
I would be surprised you would have that problem with an Airport Extreme, you might check to see if there is a firmware update for it.

  • Fonts behave different in Photoshop in comparison with Illustrator

I have a problem: it seems that some fonts behave different in Photoshop CS than in Illustrator CS on my Windows XP. Where Illustrator opens a vector (Ill) EPS file correct Photoshop shows me wrong characters sometimes: for example: an é becomes a wrong character: Capital O with a stroke through it. Frutiger was used.
My question is: where does Photoshop behave different reading fonts in comparison with Illustrator?

Perhaps you forgot to embed the font?
Here comes an example, using characters  with accents.
The font is GillSans-Schoolbook. The font or subset is embedded.
The file extension TXT should be replaced by EPS after downloading.
The EPS doesn't contain a preview image.
The file is correctly handled by
    Photoshop CS2 (opened)
    InDesign CS2 (placed)
    Illustrator CS2 (opened)
    PSAlter (PostScript interpreter by Quite)
All characters with accents are missing in
    Word 2007 (insert graphic)

  • After waking from sleep bluetooth mouse behaves strangely

    Hello
I have this issue . First of all i have Allow bluetooth to wake from sleep but it doesn't happen but i don't really care about that.
Most important thing is that after waking up from sleep my mouse has lag when moving , the mouse behaves strangely and movement of mouse is not natural .Restarting or shutting down doesn't fix it .
    Anyone knows why this happens?

Try resetting the PRAM and SMC.

  • Want the mouse behave the same way as a tab key

    Hello,
I am using abap webdynpro. one of my requirements to automatically put the user in insert mode on numeric fields.  That is when the user clicks in a numeric field we want the field to be highlighted.  As soon as the user types something in the field we want the field  to be cleared so that the user overwrites the data.  Basically we want the mouse behave the same way as a tab key.  highlight the field and clear it as soon as you start typing.
    is this possible?

As mentioned this is not possible.
however, I would be wary of trying to overcome a standard functionality "deficiency " like this by implementing an island. If you take this path - all your custom applications will behave differently from the SAP standard ones - which is not really an ideal situation.
Instead, add your concern to the sticky at the top of this forum - the functionality to "clear" a field (or select all on field on entry which is what is happening with the tab selection) might be added in future releases.
I think however, that you'll find that the "select all on tab" behaviour is an browser "functionality" rather than anything specifically that SAP has implemented - if you try using a different browser, you may not find the same thing happening (although with the browsers I've checked it does).
The same thing happens with any HTML forms - just try yourself. e.g.[external site with details on HTML forms and input fields|http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_forms.asp]

  • Mouse cursor disappear using photoshop cs5.5

mouse cursor disappear using photoshop cs5.5 ( IMAC MID 2010 )

Before proceeding further, it is to be highlighted that the version being referred to is Photoshop CS5 Extended which is actually Photoshop Version 12.1 and is a part of Adobe Master Collection CS5.5. A screenshot of the version information is attached below for information.
Hence, I dont understand the concern expressed by many about the lowest version eligible for scripting being available in the product.
My version is in effect 12.1 and not 7 or 8.
Accordingly someone may advise on what script to use for inserting the EXIF data onto the image. I also want that the positioning of the text is predetermined and same for a batch of images required to be processed. I dont want to fix the position of text for each individual image.

This appears to have been due to a bad video card.

  • Mouse wheel: Illustrator != Photoshop

Is there any setting (hidden or otherwise) that will make the mouse wheel behave the same in Illustrator as it does in Photoshop? In particular, I would like the wheel to zoom without holding down the Alt key, and Shift+Wheel to zoom in whole multiples of 100%, just like in PS.
In my work, I have to switch back and forth between the two apps a lot, and the inconsistency drives me a little nuts.

I know this thread is old but this may be helpful to someone.
I use the program X-Mouse Button Control. http://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/XMouseButtonControl.htm
    1. Create a new profile called Illustrator (or whatever you want).
    2. Panning:
For the Middle Button change the setting to "Simulated Keys" from the drop down. In the dialog box enter {space}{LMB} Under the "how to send the simulalted key strokes:" dropdown, select #3, During (press on down, release on up).
This configuration will let you click and hold the middle mouse button to pan around the screen i.e., the hand tool
    3. Zoom In/Out:
For the Wheel Up change the setting to "Simulated Keys" from the drop down. In the dialog box enter {CTRL}+ Under the "how to send the simulalted key strokes:" dropdown, select #3, During (press on down, release on up).
This configuration will let you roll the mouse wheel up to zoom in.
For the Wheel Down change the setting to "Simulated Keys" from the drop down. In the dialog box enter {CTRL}- Under the "how to send the simulalted key strokes:" dropdown, select #3, During (press on down, release on up).
This configuration will let you roll the mouse wheel down to zoom out.
    IMPORTANT!
For this to work correctly you need to change the default keyboard shortcuts "+" and "-" that would normally add or subtract anchor points. I changed mine to "Shift +" and "Shift-". X-Mouse gets confused at the end of the string. It thinks after you zoom in or out you want to either add or subtract a point depending on which way you rolled the wheel. This happens because of the "+" or "-" after the {CTRL}. By changing the shortcuts, the problem is eliminated and it defaults back to the last command you had running.
    Hope this helps!

  • Mouse not working in Photoshop CC

    Hi,
So I decided to do the Creative Cloud thing. Installed Photoshop CC trial. Opened up a new document and tried to drag out a selection box ... and nothing. I can't drag my mouse. I can click on things. But dragging doesn't seem to work. Neither does right clicking.
So for example, I can't move layers. I can select them in the layers panel, but I can't drag them in the workspace. Same with sliders. I can select a location on a slider, but I can't grab the handle and slide it around. I've tried resetting preferences, restarting, and disabling graphic card acceleration.
Please help. I'm running Windows 7 x64. My mouse is a wireless Logitech that I haven't had any trouble with otherwise. I opened up paint and it can track me dragging my mouse around to paint (so it's not just a ****** mouse connection or anything).
    Thanks,
    Aditya

Is this a laptop?  If yes, try turning off wireless support.  (Do laptops have Flight Mode?)  Do you have other wireless periferals plugged into a USB2 or USB3 socket like a keyboard or router, and if yes, are they also Logitech?  I can't think why that would be Photoshop CC specific, but it might help to isolate the problem area.
Recent Logitech perifierals and Setpoint, allow you to use the same dongle for multiple Logitech devices (Unifying).  Do you have that option and if so, are you using it?
Have a look at the mouse settings in the Control Panel > go to Setpoint (last tab), and click on Advanced settings.  (a mouse icon with a +).  If you have Application specific enabled, try turning it off.  If that makes a difference, turn it back on, and click on Configure and add Photoshop CC

  • Mouse calibration problem in Photoshop

My problem is that in Photoshop the diffrent tools wont make the its funktion at the exakt pixel where i point my mouse.
For exampel, when i try to make a line with the pen tool, i have to aim a few pixels above where i want the line. Its very very very frustrating.
Is there any way to calibrate or is it some sort of adjustment in the program in a menu where i can fix it?
    Hoping for a solution

  • Magic Mouse behaving differently from illustrator to PS

I have an apple magic mouse, in illustrator dragging my finger around on the mouses surface moves the image I'm zoomed in on all around rather fast, i like it,.. but in photoshop doing the exact same thing moves the image slowly and its kinda chunky as it moves. Exact same jpg image I've tested this with, anyone know why? Or better yet how to fix it?

Never heard of that from new batteries.   Here are some notes I've written about batteries.
Whether you use regular or rechargeable batteries you should buy the best. Discounted or unbranded batteries are more likely to give a depleted performance and may be of irregular size, often leading to connection problems. Apple’s own brand, Eneloop and Energiser appear to be the best.
Rechargeable batteries for the standard Magic mouse are unlikely to exceed eighteen days before needing a recharge although the mouse itself can be a limiting factor.   I have seen reports that some Logitech mice vastly exceed this.   Apple may suggest more in their sales blurb but this is a realistic expectation.   The benefit (if you are organised) is that you can always have charged batteries available.   Regular batteries will give you between 25 and 35 days before they need to be replaced.
Note.  Never mix old and new batteries or rechargeable and regular.
Both the above are based on my personal experience, not shutting down my machine and using it for around four hours per day.   Note.   Monitors do not always faithfully report battery strength, particularly with rechargeable ones.
When checking your mouse or keyboard batteries ...
    Turn off the device.
    Remove the batteries,
Clean the terminals both inside the battery compartment and on the batteries themselves.
    Replace or renew both batteries.
Turn on the device.   You should get a blinking green light if the device is paired.
Click the mouse to activate it.  The green light becomes steady.

  • My bluetooth mouse behaves strangely

My bluetooth mac mouse sometimes doesn´t work as configured, for a left-hand user, so that when I press the primary click it displays the secondary click menu. Particularly when moving from the primary display to the secondary display.

  • Magic Mouse behaves erradically

Wtih increasing frequency all clicks on the MM are like right clicks, i.e. produces a drop down menu to, cut, past, open new window, etc. I can't open windows, close windows, etc. I have an iMac, 2011, running 10.7.5. Mouse was working great until about two weeks ago.
Here's what I've done to remedy problem:
Changed batteries (battery life shows 91%)
    Cleaned tracking surface
    Cleaned the senors.
Turned bluetooth off and on to try to establish a new connection.
Moved the cordless phone (read there could possible interference with the frequencies)
    I reset the PRAM, twice
Final note, my 4 year-old was using computer to watch a video and I first noticed the problem when I tried to select a new video. I've looked at the settings and I don't see anything amiss. I don't know if she could have done something to the  mouse.
    Thank you.

    Hi Barry
Thanks, but I've already tried that one. No joy.
Also reset the SMC, no joy there either.
Had the same effect when used on two seperate MBP's.

  • MacBook doesn't find Wifi and mouse behaves weird...

When the new iOS came out I received an update message also for my MacBook Pro. Since I installed the update the system doesn't find any Wifi connection any more! Even not when I try to choose a connection in the system settings: There is no single connection listed in the network list and the Wifi-sign keeps blank without any signal sign.
Since the same time also my mouse refused to work properly: Scrolling is now impossible and when the Magic-Mouse is switched on, the active window starts to move up and down.
Don't know exactly if this strange behavior came from the iOS (iTunes, whatever) update or from another one: At the same time I downloaded also a Firefox and a Skype Update.
Does anyone observe similar problems since the last iOS update release?

I'm having the same problems recently. Bought my white MacBook in Jan. '09, worked great for several months; now it won't stay on the Internet for more than five minutes at a time unless I'm right next to the router. The Airport icon, when selected, shows my network but for some reason it has been deselected. My husband's Dell has no problem at all, even if he's out on the back porch, so it's not a signal issue.
I've updated the software to the latest Airport but that seems to have made it worse. I've tried nearly all the things Solvi did to no avail. Has there been an answer yet from Apple on this?
(Had to re-select network to sent this short post!!)
