Mouse can scroll cant click

Hey Guys...so my mouse pad  clicker stopped working about a
month ago. So I switched to tapping the pad. Now, I can move
The cursor around but can't click. Now, my wife needs to print
Work documents but I can't click. Help!!!!

as a quick work around you can use the tab key.or any of the various shortcuts for printing and accepting the print.
If you can't "Click" this is certainly a hardware issue and most importantly might have to do with your battery swelling. if you can, take the battery out and inspect it and see if with the battery out you can click again. if you can't take the battery out go to your nearest certified apple specialist for assistance.

  • Bluethooth Mouse can scroll but not click

    Hi All,
I was searching around the disucssion groups and I hope I did not miss a solution for my problem - so, if I double the problem submission I apologize!
I have a weird issue and apparently Apple support cannot help as well.
I recently bought an iMac 24 and added to it the bluetooth mighty mouse as well as the bluetooth keyboard, both worked fine and I love the functionality (once you know the keyboard shortcuts) and the design.
After a week or two the bluetooth mouse kept scrolling but did not accept any left or right click anymore. I deleted it from the bluetooth device list, set it new up, but it did not help! I talked to Apple and they assumed the mouse was broken and offered to send a new one, which I received next day. The new mouse was installed next day and worked since then. This morning I was setting up some copy processes to a new external HDD and all over sudden, the bluetooth mouse keeps scolling but does not accept any click anymore. I set it new up, reinstalled both keyboard and mouse in different install orders, but nothing works - still the mouse only scrolls but does not accept click.
Does anybody have any idea what the problem might be and can be resolved - any help is HIGHLY appreciated!
    Thanks

  • Mouse can't double-click open folders

I have a mac 10.4.11. I don't know what happened but my mouse can't seem to double-click and open folders in my desktop and folders within folders. I can can only do so by highlighting and using shortcuts on the keyboard. Can someone helps me fix this problem!?!

I'm using the white mouse that came with the Mac desktop. Double click setting is set to fast but that isn't doing anything because it takes a million clicks before a folder opens. Maybe I did pressed on the wrong  button or something. I don't know. All I know is that I'm using keyboard short cuts to open folders and it's a pain!

  • Magic Mouse keeps scrolling when clicked

I tried to find a setting to stop scrolling when the mouse is clicked down, but couldn't find anything. it makes it impossible to use google earth/maps. Can anyone help?

This seems to be a problem within the Google software. The only thing I've found that helps is to select scrolling without Inertia within the System Preferences.
Problem is, I like Inertia scrolling in everything else.

  • Mouse moves but cant click anything!! please help

I forgot to turn my imac off when i went on vacation. The computer was on for 3 days straight... although it did go to sleep. Ever since ive come back I find that I cannot click on ANYTHING. I cant open programs, or even the apple menu to properly turn it off. The arrow moves around when i move the mouse but thats it! (this was typed on a diff computer). Can anyone give any advice on this... could this be due to having the computer on for 3 days? Ive been told that this shouldnt have caused a problem.... The computer is 2 months old.... I have Applecare... will they replace this if the computer is broken? thx

I have found that if I don't shut the computer down when it is inactive for multiple days, weird things start to happen. Refer to the users guide that says to shut down if you're not going to use it for "more than a few days". I would try restarting it.

  • How can you set a wired mouse to scroll down?

My mouse is set to scroll horizontaly and vertically but it will only scroll up on a page, not down.  Is there any way I could fix this so my mouse can scroll down as well?

A mouse that will scroll down but not up typically has a mouse ball with junk in it.
To clean, turn upside-down and roll around on a rough-ish piece of clean white paper such as copy paper.

  • I can scroll sparatically. I downloaded the new version and it worked good for a week. It starts and stops.

I use firefox on facebook.. Scrolling is sparatic. When I try and click on something it doesn't work. The screen will go blurry for about 30 seconds then it will clear and I can scroll or click for a second then it will do it again.

i just fixed this on my machine running 10.6.8. the typical workaround is to add appropriate UUIDs, which get updated with each new os build, and break plugins (see here). Follow those instructions, but instead of adding the UUIDs they suggest for 10.6.7, add these (I found them on my machine running 10.6.8, and they work):
    064442B6-53C0-4A97-B71B-2F111AE4195B
    588FF7D1-4310-4175-9980-145B7E975C02
for fixing on os x version 10.6.7, this may help (though letterbox 0.24b9 should work already).
i emailed the author (aaron harnly, harnly.net) about this, but haven't heard back (a few days). to be sure, i am quite grateful, as i think we all are, for his excellent plugin, and this workaround is quite simple for dealing with updates.

    Hi,
Sorry I can't help you. I just wanted to let you know I have the same exact problem. It started three days ago and I've been going back and forth with creative support and nothing has worked. I am beginning to grow really distressed. I feel a little better now because after seeing that it's happening with someone else, it is most likely not the player. I am running windows 98 SE as well. I also have an AMD Duron processor. I have a new computer on the way with windows XP I really hope it works. But now I have a new problem. I listed it on the front page of this forum a few minutes ago. My player froze and now only boots up in rescue mode. I am getting so frustrated with my player. If you figure anything out will you be as kind as to send me a message on how you got your player working again? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
    Nick

  • Safari won't let me left click mouse and scroll down page

Safari won't let me left click on the mouse and scroll down the page, which I can do in Internet Explorer. That means I have to manually click on the scroll bar on the right side of the website.

Hopefully it's a cache issue not your Magic Mouse.
    Quit Safari.
    Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari
Move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
    Relaunch Safari.
This seems to be a "feature" of Safari
    No.. it's not.

  • How can I prevent Magic Mouse from scrolling horizontally when I don't want it to?

I recently purchased a Magic Mouse to go with OS 10.6 Snow Leopard. It's a great mouse but it causes 2 problems:
If I leave it on "Scroll with interia" in System Preferences/Mouse, it scrolls horizontally when I don't want it to.  Since I mostly work in Word documents, I often lose my place in the document this way. On the other hand, checking "Scroll without inertia" makes vertical scrolling, which I do all the time, a lot harder.
The mouse seems to cause what I think of as "fractures" in Word documents--words and parts of sentences will disappear or get crunched together , then reappear when I select the place where they vanished.  They also reappear if I scroll vertically to get the problem area off the screen and then return to it. This wastes a lot of time at best; at worst, I'm afraid I'll lose work.  The problem occurred once in a while with a Logitech bluetooth mouse I was using, but not as bad and not all the time.
I love the mouse's ergonomics and would like to keep it, but if I can't solve this problem, I'll have to return it.  Would be very, very grateful for any tips!  Thanks.

Always nervous about recommending sites I have no personal experience of.  On the plus side it doesn't relate to any of the bad sites I am familiar with and it appears to be the developer's site ... but there is no contact point for you to ask questions.  You said in your initial post it was to go with Snow Leopard but this version says it is meant for 10.7 and above.   Did you notice that?   I also notice several other references to Word and mouse and one person found the solution lay in the updating of word 2011 to its highest level.   I can offer no more.

  • Can't "right click" on mouse.

    Hi all,
I am running OS X 10.4.8 on an Intel Mac Mini with wireless one button mouse.
To "right click" say on a picture, I just hold down the mouse and get an options menu, or to download a link, I just hold down the mouse on the link, and get an options menu.
    Well not now!
Now if I hold down the mouse nothing happens ?
    I tried the following:
Logged into the admin account the mouse works perfect.
Created a new user account the mouse works perfect.
I uninstalled Divx ( the only thing I loaded recently).
I ran "Disk Aid" fixed a few permissions, mostly iTunes.
I checked the mouse settings, but there are only settings for click speed, and tracking, both of these functions work perfect.
I tried another USB one button mouse in my user account, it does not work either.
Holding down the ctrl key while clicking on the mouse does not work either.
    Nor did a re-boot.
So it's some sort of user account problem as the hardware is perfect and it works in admin and the new user account.
    Permissions are OK.
I ain't got the faintest idea where to go now
It's an annoying problem, as I can't download stuff that needs a "right click and select save as" , the only way is to log into another account and download it there.
    Any help would be great.
    Many thanks for your time.
    Regards.
    R

There's a couple of things to look at in your account:
    1. Look in "/Users/yourname/Library/Contextual Menu Items" and see if you have anything in there. If so, try moving all the items to the Desktop and log out/in or restart the Finder. If one of the items is the problem you can add back one at a time until you isolate the culprit.
    2. In "/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences" look for plist files that might be related to your mouse. I guess you have an Apple bluetooth mouse? See if there are any plist files related to it, if so remove. Also remove "/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist" and you can try going to "/Users/yourname/Library/Caches/" and removing the System Preferences folder plus "com.apple.preferencepanes.cache" and see if that helps. There's one other System Prefs plist, "/Users/yourname/Library/Preferences/ByHost/com.apple.systempreferences.0003934 3a1a8.plist" you can remove.
If it isn't a bad Contextual Menu Item, nor a bad mouse of bluetooth preference--either a com.apple plist for the mouse or bluetooth--nor a bad cache or plist for System Preferences, then I can't imagine what the problem is. You could try removing the entire Preferences folder, force Finder to restart and create new default everything, then put back stuff in batches....

I do not know if your file can be recovered.  But I may be able help you to recreate it with ease.  If you will settle for a composite where all image are re-sized for a particular tile size and virtually cropped to its aspect ratio.  However all source image need be gathered into a folder to use my script process.
